Penyagak2 UMNO kasi warning mahu bakar ibupejabat DAP...

Satu lagi kain rentang berbunyi, 'Jangan biar celaka bertukar menjadi malapetaka. Adun DAP biadap'.

"Saya menyeru Khairy memohon maaf," kata ahli Parlimen DAP.-

Do it again and DAP HQ will burn...

Umno Youth members issued a fiery warning to DAP, threatening to torch the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur if its elected representatives hurled insults again.

Angry shouts of "let's burn it down" and "kill them" rang out at a protest outside the building when Federal Territory Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Mohd Rafii asked if submitting a memorandum was sufficient.

He then warned DAP that the next insult would invite a "catastrophic" response.

"If we only wanted to submit a memorandum, we can e-mail or fax it. Remember what happened today.

"I warn you. If you humiliate our party and race again, we will burn this building down - this building, which has produced many racists," Razlan thundered.

The protest comes in the wake of Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin’s condemnation of his wing's members who stormed the Penang state assembly building on Tuesday.

Umno Youth is seething over DAP Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer's refusal to apologise over his "celaka Umno" remark.

Rayer had slammed Umno leaders over a protest they organised in January where they unfurled a banner stating: 'Because of DAP's leaders mouth, May 13, 1969 happened... Want some more?’

Party billboard torn down

At the DAP headquarters this afternoon, witnesses claimed that Razlan and his men also attempted to burn an effigy of Rayer but the rain foiled their plan.

The 50 odd protesters came armed with banners and placards, which among others denounced the state assemblyperson as a "anak haram" (illegitimate child) and an "idiot".

Whereas another banner read: "Jangan biarkan celaka bertukar menjadi malapetaka" (Don't let the celaka insult turn into a catastrophe).

The Umno Youth members had also attempted to tear down the DAP headquarters billboard, which featured the party’s Rocket logo but were stopped by the police and staff.

However, one of the protesters later managed to pull it down.

After negotiating with the police, the protesters were allowed to send several representatives, including Razlan, to hand over the memorandum.

They were received by Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming and DAP headquarters head of administration department Chu Yoon Ming.

However, the discussion went awry went Ong criticised the protesters for behaving like hooligans.

Infuriated, Razlan tore the memorandum and threw it at the DAP MP (photo below). He then stormed out of the compound.

When it started to rain, the protesters gathered under the overpass next to the DAP headquarters and left went the rain subsided.

Prior to that, they thanked the police for their cooperation. No arrests were made.

Ong: Khairy must apologise

Speaking to the press, Razlan said the memorandum was to warn DAP against humiliating other races again.

"DAP Indian reps criticise Umno Malays, DAP Chinese reps criticise MIC Indians. That is not the way.

"In Malaysia, we need to protect harmony as we are a plural society," he added.

He said that their action would fuel the spirit of other state Umno Youth chapters to follow suit and was confident that other Malays would rise up as well.

Contacted later, Ong said he supported the right for the group to hold a demonstration in front of the DAP headquarters, but criticised their behaviour.

"I call upon Khairy to apologise," the DAP MP said.- mk

Jahara mohon maaf, mahu Rayer juga buat demikian(Jahara apologises, but wants Rayer to also do so)...

Ketua Pembangkang di Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Pulau Pinang, Datuk Jahara Hamid memohon maaf atas tindakan ahli Umno menceroboh DUN semalam.

"Tetapi kami mahukan ADUN Seri Delima mohon maaf kerana memanggil Umno celaka," katanya.

Katanya, mengapa ketua menteri hanya melihat kesalahan orang lain tetapi bukan kesilapan orangnya sendiri.

Penang Opposition Leader Jahara Hamid has apologised over the intrusion of Umno members into the state legislative assembly yesterday.

After an intense debate over an emergency motion filed by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to condemn the act, Jahara apologised on behalf of the “intruders”.

“But we want the Seri Delima assemblyperson to apologise for calling Umno ‘Celaka’ (damned),” she said.

Later at a press conference, Jahara said it was unfair that Umno was asked to apologise when Rayer refused to do so.

“Why does the chief minister only look at others’ faults but not his own men’s mistake,” she asked.

She said Umno will also propose a motion later in the House to compel Rayer to say sorry and retract his statement in the Dewan.

Earlier, in his motion to debate the matter today, Lim proposed that the state assembly strongly condemns Penang Umno for acting irresponsibly by leading a group of rioters and gangsters to “insult the sanctity” of the state legislature and the sovereignty of the state and country.

“To prove that Umno is not the destroyer of the nation, state Opposition Leader Jahara Hamid (right) should apologise to this honourable House,” Lim said.

“The state assembly has expressed its regrets over this black incident which has tarnished and is a malicious attack on the parliamentary democratic and monarchy system in Penang and Malaysia,” Lim added when he tabled the motion at 9.30am this morning.

The group that barged into the state assembly proceeding area looking for DAP Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer and those who rallied outside the gates were allegedly Umno Youth members from Kepala Batas and Tasek Gelugor.

Other NGO members including, those from Perkasa and the Federation of Peninsula Malay Students, joined the rally beyond the gates of the premises.

They were upset that Rayer had allegedly insulted the Malays and Islam when he called Umno leaders celaka (damned) for attending a rally in Seberang Jaya in January, where banners blaming DAP for the May 13 incident were displayed.

Lim proposed that the state assembly forms a special committee headed by the governor, the deputy chief ministe, and assemblypersons Chow Kon Yeow (DAP-Padang Kota), Salleh Man (PAS-Permatang Pasir) and Jahara, who is Teluk Ayer Tawar assemblyperson.

“This committee will come out with a special report to the state assembly on how this dark incident happened, to identify the persons involved and recommend action to be taken, including preventive measures to ensure the incident will not recur,” he added.

Lim said he was tabling the motion to continuously condemn the unruly group, claiming to be Umno members, intruding “wildly, rudely and violently” into the House at about 2.15pm yesterday, just as the proceeding was about to start.

“They tried to push down (the poles) and damage the Penang and Malaysian flags, including other properties of the House, and threatened the lives and security of the assemblypersons and the officers inside the building at the time,” Lim added.

Lim also wants the state assembly to order state police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi and other local security authorities to take over the security of the Dewan and to take the appropriate action against the rioters and gangsters. - mk

cheers.
