Gomen janji mangsa banjir terima 'layanan diraja'...

Dah memang namanya kerajaan, bantuan bencana dah ada dlm s.o.p yg sepatutnya dilaksanakan tak payah lah nak ckp sampai layanan diraja. Itu memang tanggungjawab kerajaan menjaga kebajikan rakyat apabila dlm bencana alam..- David Peter

Kalu layanan diraja jgn letak di pusat2 banjir.Letak di hotel 5 star.Bantu sajalah jgn nak tunjok kononnya UMNO saja yg boleh bantu mangsa banjir.Benda2 mcm ni tak payahlah nak dipolitikkan.Bantulah dgn seikhlasnya.Rakyat bukannya tinggal free di negara sendiri.Kena tax..gst..dan macam2 cukai.Gaji Menteri pun sebenarnya rakyat yg bayar so jgn ego sangat. - Azman Abdullah

Mangsa banjir kat Penang kau orang layan macam pelarian.Cakap kencang macam la bagus sangat.Mangsa banjir yg lepas2 kt Kelantan pun masih merempat.

Inilah menteri hipokrit. - Ariss Salam

Masa mcm ni baru nak beri layanan diraja? Lepas tu layan mcm pengemis? Jgn mcm budak tadika. Tak ada idea nak berpolitik ke? - Navarasoo Nagarajan

Hishamuddin To Be "Appointed"
Acting Timbalan Presiden UMNO??

UMNO is having their general assembly soon. This is not an election assembly. However talk is that Hishamuddin Hussein is going to be appointed "acting" Timbalan President or Deputy President at this coming assembly.

This may not require an election and it may be more "symbolic" to just appoint an "acting timbalan president". Wonder what the ROS will say about that? Prosedur semua mesti ikut cara betul brader. Jangan buat ikut suka hati.

Of course this means the end of Zahid Hamidi - a Javanese immigrant who came to Malaysia at the age of 12 or something. Not even born in Malaysia.  Folks in the know say Zahid will be given a golden handshake to retire into the sunset. He will ride off on his buffalo and disappear into  the rubber estate.

Ultimately Hishamuddin will take over as UMNO president and become Prime Minister. That is the plan. This has some chance of happening if they get rid of Kepala Bapak before the general elections. But the situation has become so bad now that it is almost impossible to save the BN and UMNO anymore. If Kepala Bapak leads the BN into the GE14, they are going to lose. This is a certainty.

People in the know also say that indeed they have made an offer to Anwar Ibrahim. Stand with UMNO and his crimes and sins will be pardoned. The daughter will be made a Minister. He and the wife will be given a golden handshake to retire into the sunset. He will ride off on his buffalo and disappear into  the rubber estate.

The offer has been made but they have not responded yet. Isnt it nice to have so many options.- ostb

Ayat2 setan penyangak2 UMNO...

Image result for Ayat2 setan penyangak2 UMNO...

“Saya pun pernah jadi pelajar, (tetapi) kerana dasar Umno yang kamu dapat masuk universiti. Apa salah Umno?

- themalaysianinsight

Adakah MB Johor terima RM12 juta...

If Siew Sin and Tun Ismail were alive,
Najib would be behind bars...

Reading Robert Kuok’s account of Malaysian leaders of a bygone era, one anecdote stood out.

The anecdote shows how far our current leaders have fallen in integrity, accountability, honesty and sense of responsibility for the country.

In his memoir, Kuok recalls an incident of former Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman writing to then Finance Minister (Tun) Tan Siew Sin to tell the tax department to go easy on a poker buddy.

Tan was so upset at being asked to intervene and bend the rules that he marched into the office of Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman.

Dr Ismail’s advice was brilliant. He told his cabinet colleague that Tunku Abdul Rahman had done his friend a favour by writing the letter. Now Siew Sin had to do the country a favour by doing his job.

And yes, Dr Ismail also crumpled up the letter and threw it into the waste bin.

These men were the nation’s true trustees.

There wouldn’t have been the BMF and Perwaja Steel scandals, and most certainly, the biggest act of kleptocracy in the world would never have been allowed to happen.

If the PM or UMNO chieftains of the day had tried to propose a shady deal, they would have spoken up against it. What a contrast to the crop of today.

IF SIEW SIN & TUN ISMAIL WERE ALIVE, NAJIB WOULD BE IN JAIL: BUT SAD TO SAY, THERE’S ONLY ‘LIAR’ LIOW & ‘RM230MIL’ ZAHID TO WATCH OUT FOR MALAYSIA NOW

Cronyism. Nepotism. Every “ism” that the leaders of the bygone era fought against has infected the leadership of the country, from top to bottom. But even sadder is that unlike the towering giants of the past, we now are surrounded by champions of mediocrity.

Not for them the integrity and honesty of their predecessors. They prefer to attend to the more immediate need of short-term electoral gains to stay in power at any cost.

Cronies and acolytes are a must, in the interests of development and to ensure the race and religion remain supreme.

That it is lip service is of no concern to those who preach that the end justifies the means. People may remain poor decades after Merdeka but they are fed hope while cronies scoop up the contracts and concessions.

Will anyone in government stand up to such blatant abuse of their mandate? Will any blow the whistle on those who abuse their power?

The long answer is, no way for sure. The short answer, d’uh. It will never happen and the few who dared to say yes have been sacked and punished.

The simple fact is, Kuok is talking of a time in Malaysia that is long gone. And will never return again. - dinmerican

Kepala Bapak despatch "Khalid"
to talk to Claire To "Terminate" Suits...

Talk is Kepala Bapak wishes to see an end to the libel suits filed against Claire Rewcastle Brown (Sarawak Report). They are planning to despatch "Khalid" to see Claire and get her to agree if the suit against her is withdrawn.

At the same time they also want Claire to cancel her counter suit and her counter claims. I checked with someone who knows Claire who says she is in the dark about this plan.

If that is the case, do get ready Ms Brown. They must be prepared to pay big money to get out of this really stupid  mistake. Another one of their strategic bungles.

By the way, did you know that Kepala Bapak's entire team of media advisors are all "slow learners"? Yes they are UITM graduates. That Tengku fellow, Farid etc. I think even Sup Kambing Kuala Kangsar.  No wonder.Dudsville.

If Kepala Bapak seeks to have the suits terminated, please ask for costs, plus, plus, plus.  If a high school failure (an MCE dropout) can be paid RM5 million for writing rubbish, surely withdrawing a suit which will embarass Kepala Bapak and his entire team of slow learners must be worth a lot more.

Christmas can come extra early Ms Brown.Do take them to the cleaners.

They are realising now that the defense filed by Claire Rewcastle Brown will embarass them to the sky.

Plus they have hired the most expensive lawyer in the UK to file the suit.  Who is going to pay the legal fees, believed to run into a few million Ringgit ?

What if that Bawang fellow just drops the suit because there is 'no more money' to pay the lawyers? That would be doubly embarrassing.

They cannot ask the ahli  lembu to donate more funds. The ahli lembus know the number plates of all those expensive cars that have been bought with that money.  They cannot be that stupid. Or can they? As the stomach churns.- ostb

Ku Babuji kata Melayu 'slow learner' boleh masuk UiTM...

Ku Babuji kata Melayu pelajar lemah...

Hujung tahun semakin dekat.

- a.kadir jasin

For all his talk,Robert Kuok
was himself an UMNO crony...

From Kuok’s memoirs:

“Cronies are lapdogs who polish a leader’s ego. In return, the leader hands out national favours to them.“A nation’s assets, projects and businesses should never be for anyone to hand out, neither for a king nor a prime minister.“A true leader is the chief trustee of a nation,”

Kuok writes in his book, alluding to allegations of cronyism linked to the nation’s leaders over the past few decades. He added that any good leader could also rely on their fiduciary sense to set them on the right course, if the nation lacks an established system to guide its leaders.

“A leader who practices cronyism justifies his actions by saying he wants to bring up the nation quickly in his lifetime, so the end justifies the means.“He abandons all the General Orders, that is the civil-service work manual that lays down tendering rules for state projects.“Instead, he simply hands the projects to a Chinese or to a Malay crony,”

Kuok said, adding that government-owned banks are also forced to lend to the projects.“Some of these cronies may even be fronting for crooked officials.”

On the other, hand this, extracted from:

The Beginnings of Crony Capitalism: Business, Politics and Economic   Development in Malaysia, c.1955–70 by Nicholas  J. White:1

The enigmatic Robert Kuok was the entrepreneurial success story of the Tunku years —by the late-1960s, he had developed vast financial interests in Malaysia, originally in the food industry but extending also to timber, hotels and property development. Case studies by  Gomez and Rajeswary Brown illustrate that Kuok relied on close ties to the Malay elite, long before the NEP, to secure pioneer status for his sugar refining and flour milling ventures.

He was awarded these concessions despite that the Federation’s tax holidays and tariff protection to encourage ISI tended to benefit British multinational enterprises, and notwithstanding the concern amongst Malay leaders that the grant of pioneer certificates to ethnic Chinese would only exacerbate the economic divide between Malay and non-Malay Malaysians.

Additionally, Kuok secured nearly 15, 000 acres of land in Perlis to grow sugar cane during the 1960s—again, in a period when the federal government, as Gomez notes, was ‘alreadyunder some pressure from UMNO members to augment state intervention in the economy to promote Malay economic interests’.

For Brown, Kuok‘s ‘oligopolistic niches in sugar and flour milling provided a secure capital base for diversification’ of his empire into property and hotels. As Gomez also claims, ‘Kuok‘s close links with government leaders’ smoothed the path for his appointment to the chairs of enterprises with a strong government equity participation—in the late-1960s, Kuok became head of both Malaysia Singapore Airlines (MSA) and the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation (MISC).

He additionally became a director of the national trading corporation, PERNAS and the Bank Bumiputera—two government backed institutions specifically designed to enhance the Malay share in the Malaysian economy. - realpolitikasia.blogspot

Robert Kuok posing for a photo: Robert-Kuok_book_600

- themalaysianinsight

So,Najib and Anwar are friends again...

They are sworn enemies, but last week’s surprise visits paid by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his loyal deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to the jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim in hospital have sparked chatter of a fresh twist in the country’s real-life Game of Thrones.

Both sides immediately dismissed suggestions of an entente, but the cordial demeanour of the warring leaders in photographs widely circulated on social media, as well as the timing – just months ahead of general elections – has spurred commentators to suggest there was a deeper meaning to the visits.

Zahid told reporters he and his boss “set aside politics and acted on compassion” in their separate visits with their spouses on Friday and Saturday. “I know from his body language that he took our visits well,” Zahid said.

Their visits followed shoulder surgery performed on Anwar, 70, at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital. He is serving a five-year jail term after being found guilty of sodomy in 2015, an outcome the charismatic leader says was engineered by Najib, 64, to keep him out of politics.

Interpretations of the visit have also been coloured by recent seismic shifts in political alliances.

Anwar last year declared his support for arch rival and former strongman leader Mahathir Mohamad to join the opposition, while Najib in turn has been courting Abdul Hadi Awang, the influential Islamist hardliner who until recently was vehemently anti-establishment.

Anwar’s current prison term is his second stint behind bars in two decades. Hand-picked for politics by Mahathir in the 1980s, the skilled orator was dramatically sacked as deputy prime minister by his mentor in 1998 and subsequently jailed for sodomy and corruption – charges Anwar maintains were trumped up in the same way the current premier concocted a false case against him. Upon his release in 2004, he galvanised the fractured opposition and led the bloc to two strong showings in the 2008 and 2013 general elections, ending the legislative supermajority of the ruling United Malay National Organisation (UMNO).

In name, Anwar is still the de facto leader of the opposition Pakatan Harapan alliance, but his latest jail sentence has meant 92-year-old Mahathir has held the reins since he crossed aisles last year in a bid to oust Najib over allegations of widespread corruption.

In such a fevered political landscape, described by Najib’s non-partisan banker brother Nazir Razak as akin to the HBO series Game of Thrones, even the most astute political observers have been unwilling to dismiss last week’s meeting as mere courtesy calls with no underlying motive.

“Publicly visiting Anwar Ibrahim allows Najib and UMNO to project an image of Malay unity to the masses, potentially reinforcing Malay support for the party,” said Rashaad Ali, a Malaysian politics researcher at Singapore’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies.

Malaysia-based analyst Ahmad Marthada Mohamed said while the visit could be a show of “Malay culture” – where the sick are cared for and visited regardless of past animosity – the optics benefited the premier.

Najib was the first to publicise the visit on social media. Anwar’s family thanked the premier for his visit on his Facebook page, but a subsequent post featuring a photograph of the visit included a poem that ended with the jailed leader’s political battle cry: “Lawan tetap lawan” (The enemy is always the enemy).

Najib’s visit gave a “positive image to the prime minister that he is a caring person who still visits his political nemesis when the latter is in hospital,” said Ahmad Marthada, a politics professor at the University of Northern Malaysia.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ANWAR?

The shifting alliances of the past make writing off a Najib-Anwar thaw unwise, but Rashaad said he saw little upside for Anwar.

Given the fact that he is still a prisoner, the latest visit might have just been “an enforced courtesy call [rather] than a strategy meeting,” the researcher said. “Anwar cutting a deal with Najib and UMNO would cause him to lose widespread political support, both within his party and with Malaysians likely to vote for the opposition.”

Ahmad Marthada said Anwar’s family would also be a stumbling block to any such move, as they “still have grudges” over his jail terms. Of his six children, his eldest daughter Nurul Izzah is the most prominent and is among the opposition’s top leaders.

The two men have been each other’s biggest threats since Anwar’s split from UMNO.

Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the accuser in Anwar’s latest sodomy case, visited Najib in his house days before deciding to file a police report when the alleged incident occurred in 2008. Najib was then deputy prime minister.

Anwar has used this fact to buttress his argument that Najib is behind the allegations.

After his release from his first prison stint in 2004, Anwar led the charge in accusing Najib, who was also defence minister, of corruption in a deal to buy submarines, and for his links to the murder of a Mongolian model said to have known details about the deal. Najib denied connections to the case but the government declined a public inquiry.

Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, was also not spared – Anwar and his supporter for years have targeted her for a supposedly luxurious lifestyle.

Anwar, known for his soaring rhetoric, moderation and support for multiracialism, then shocked Najib in the 2013 polls when the opposition won the popular vote. It lost the election on legislative seat count. His jailing for a second time in 2015 stunned his supporters.

He was initially acquitted in 2013, but on appeal the country’s two highest courts ruled he was guilty.

It remains to be seen if there are overarching common interests between Anwar and Najib for them to paper over their deep animosity and bring about yet another shake up in the country’s politics. The two were the brightest young stars in UMNO until Anwar’s sacking in 1998 split the once united Malay political elite. UMNO and its allies have ruled the majority Malay and Muslim country uninterrupted since 1957.

Joceline Tan, a pro-establishment columnist with Malaysia’s The Star newspaper, wrote this week that one person who might be nervous about the hospital visit might be the politician who precipitated that split: Mahathir. “The former premier knows Anwar too well and they do not trust each other even though they are now on the same side,” Tan wrote. There have been murmurs that Anwar is keen on retaking the reins of the opposition from Mahathir.

This could happen if Najib’s government made special provisions for the opposition leader to recuperate from his surgery under house arrest until his expected release date some time next year. General elections are due by August, but are likely to be called before the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in mid-May. - Bhavan Jaipragas,SCMP

Pro-Umno papers splash Dr Mahathir’s granddaughter on front pages
If Daddy’s got it, flaunt it...

Children of some of Asia’s richest business tycoons and politicians are unabashedly flaunting their extravagant lifestyles on social media, Straits Times reported.

Many of these young and rich personalities have become easy targets for political attacks, as in the case of Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s granddaughter, Meers Alyana Mukhriz who was recently savaged in two pro-Umno newspapers, Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian, which published Instagram pictures showing her in designer clothes and travelling around on a luxury yacht.

Norashman Najib, Malaysia

Norashman, the son of Prime Minister Najib Razak, recently posted a picture of himself at a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai last week.

Norashman, 27, had a seat at the show which featured models in scintillating lingerie and posted a selfie with one of the models, Josephine Skriver.

Ashman, as he is known to friends, is well known to social media users as he frequently documents his love for music on Instagram.

But most posts show him trailing his father on official business trips, including a ministerial meeting with US President Donald Trump in September.
