Mahathir - Derma Arab RM2.6 bilion 'bulls**t'...

–- mk/tmi

Dr M...RM2.6b donation claim is 'bulls**t'...

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has joined the chorus of skepticism on claims that RM2.6 billion was "donated" to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Who in the world would donate US$700 million to the Malaysian prime minister?

"Even Obama could not raise this amount for his presidential bid. It was suggested it was an Arab.

"Arabs are generous, but not that generous," wrote Mahathir on his blog.

Mahathir (photo), who himself is highly influential in the Middle East, said the "donation" claim is what people describe as "hogwash or bulls**t."

"Certainly I don't believe it and neither can the majority of Malaysians if we go by the comments on the social media. The world had a good laugh," he said.

The former premier also said that he could not get a single dollar from the Arabs when he wanted to set up International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) or for the Oxford Islamic Centre.

Claims that the RM2.6 billion came from the Middle East first surfaced in a leaked video of axed deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin retelling his conversation with Najib about the money.

Muhyiddin later clarified that Najib did not reveal the name of the donor, saying only that he was Middle-Eastern and had instructed Najib to accept the RM2.6 billion in his private accounts.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it has already interviewed this unnamed Middle-Eastern donor, and plans to quiz Najib about it soon.

Najib however claimed that the MACC has already cleared him of corruption. - mk

Najib ‘urinates’ on UMNO, says Wanita delegate

- anak zaman,udin53.blogspot

Najib - Baki RM2.6 billion pi mana...

This is from the Malaysian Insider :

Umno Supreme Council never told of RM2.6 billion, says Shafie Apdal
Published: 8 August 2015 7:11 PM
Supreme Council was not informed on the matter.
donation never brought up in any Supreme Council meetings
as long as I have been in Supreme Council, we were never told,"
"We were only recently told during Cabinet meeting," said Shafie
remarks echo Shahrir who said ..its members (n)ever briefed
RM2.6 billion in Najib's accounts first reported by WSJ July 2
Najib ..did not address the transfers to his accounts
Najib said nothing wrong in him holding political donations in trust for party
Shafie : 1MDB stirred unease among grassroots
He called for clear answers and a solution
Shafie, Muhyiddin removed from Cabinet to silence criticism from within

- See more here

This is the mystery part :

"Najib said nothing wrong in him holding political donations in trust for party "

I have witnessed this type of situation before. Some crooks managed to convince people to sign over an inheritance to them - for safekeeping they said. Then not long after that the 'safekeepers' sold the inheritance without informing everyone. They only informed their fellow crooks.

So here Najib says that he was holding the RM2.6 billion political donations in trust for the UMNO party.

Here is the catch : the party did not know about this 'holding RM2.6 billion political donations in trust for the party".

Worse, Najib was keeping it safely inside his personal accounts !!

The only reason the party found out is because the Wall Street Journal exposed this fact on July 2, 2015.

If the WSJ had not exposed this "safekeeping, holding in trust" bullshit, the Majlis Tertinggi, the 3 million members and 30 million Malaysians would never know. Only Mama Bear and Chicken Little knew about this.

The fact is the RM2.6 Billion flowed into his personal accounts sometime after the Second World War - a factually correct statement.

Why didnt the safekeeper inform UMNO and all its 3 million supporters (for example through the UMNO party's audited accounts that are presented to the UMNO General Assembly once a year) that he had received the RM2.6 Billion?

Shahrir Samad says he did not know about the RM2.6 Billion.
The UMNO Treasurer Husni Hanadzlah did not know about it.
The deputy president of UMNO did not know.
The vice presidents did not know.
Otak Tang Lutut did not know.
No one else in UMNO knew about it.

Akhir kalam : here is the soalan cepu mas which has still not been answered.

The accounts have been closed. So where is the balance of the money?

Sekarang itu tembelang sudah pecah. (A tembelang is a rotten egg).

The rotten eggs have all been exposed. They are stinking up the place.

So where is the rest of the money? This money belongs to UMNO. Because the 'safekeeper' said he is holding the money in trust.

So reporters, journalists focus guys, focus :

please call Husni Hanadzlah the Treasurer of UMNO
please ask Shahrir Samad the "I dont know what now" in UMNO
please as Otak Tang Lutut (info chief konon)
please ask the safekeeper himself
please ask 'uglier than Caitlyn Jenner'(pix, bawah)

where is the remainder of the RM2.6 Billion 'kept in trust' money?

Baki duit pi mana? Tapi akaun dah tutup.

But..but..but..this money is being held in trust. For the party. The money belongs to the party.

So please tell the party where is the balance of THEIR money? - syedsoutsidethebox

Has Malaysia become a police state...

How ironic it is that many Malaysians are now being threatened for taking actions that are "detrimental to parliamentary democracy." Actually, they are the very people who are struggling for democracy and political freedom.

As someone who follows developments in Malaysia closely, I believe that the greatest threat to parliamentary democracy in Malaysia today is Prime Minister Najib Razak, and the head of the national police force that he controls, Khalid Abu Bakar.

It is Najib and Khalid who actually should be investigated for violating Section 124B of the Penal Code.

Najib wants to stay in power, no matter what. For any politician, that is understandable.

For whatever reason, Khalid has chosen to be Najib's lackey. He is ready to do Najib's bidding and deploy his police force in wilful violation of the law and the fundamental guarantees of Malaysia's constitution.

Najib as Macbeth

A good friend who also follows developments in Malaysia closely recently compared the situation in Malaysia to Shakespeare's famous tragedy, "Macbeth."

Macbeth, pushed by his evil wife's ambition, would stop at nothing - even murder - to gain power. And to accomplish his ends, Macbeth would depict evil as good, and good as evil.

So it is in Malaysia today. Those who seek democracy are called the enemies of democracy.

Meanwhile, those who really are the enemies of democracy - the people who close newspapers, charge opposition politicians with sedition, round up the leaders of peaceful protests, and arrest government officials who are investigating corruption at the highest levels - call themselves the "patriots" of the nation and the defenders of parliamentary democracy.

How perverse it all has become under Najib.

Reluctantly, I have come to the conclusion that Malaysia has now become a police state.

One should not use words like "police state" carelessly. So I consulted the definitions that political scientists and academics use.

A police state is when police power is used to suppress any action that opposes the government, and to suppress any person who dares to criticise the government.

That sounds like Malaysia today. Najib is turning Malaysia into an authoritarian government and a police state. And Khalid is his willing accomplice, a law unto himself, a man who renders justice through Twitter.

Who will save Malaysia?

Because of Najib's actions, Malaysia can no longer claim to be a democracy.

Democracy means freedom of speech, freedom of press, and freedom of assembly. It means that there are checks and balances - that the judiciary, the press, the parliament, and so on, can comment and criticise what the government is doing.

But today in Malaysia, none of that exists. There is no check on Najib's power. There is no institution that can balance his power, especially when the police are so ready to arrest anyone who dares to criticise Najib, including government officials who are investigating the many allegations of corruption against him and his wife.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad already destroyed most of Malaysia's checks and balances against the abuse of power, and Najib has now finished it off for good.

Will Najib get away with this? It seems that no one stands in Najib's way.

Malaysia's elder statesmen - Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Musa Hitam, and so on are curiously silent. They claim that they care about Malaysia and its people, yet they do nothing about Najib's abuses.

Only Mahathir has spoken out. But Mahathir is the man who corrupted the entire system that Najib has used to his advantage.

And now even Mahathir has become silent.

Where are the sultans? They also are supposed to be the defenders of the nation. Yet we only know, indirectly, the views of the Sultan of Johor and his son. The others are silent as Najib destroys Malaysia's future, the great country that the Sultans have pledged to defend.

We know what Najib wants

Najib has decided that his personal survival is more important than the fate of his country. He and his wife care only about themselves, not Malaysia.

So the stock market tumbles, and the ringgit falls to its lowest point in almost 20 years. Malaysia's bank reserves have dropped by over US$40 billion in just one year. Foreign investors are shunning Malaysia, and Malaysians themselves are sending their money overseas. It is the worst situation for Malaysia's economy in 20 years.

But Najib doesn't care. His personal survival is more important than his country's economic fate.

Najib is now a desperate man. He will continue his relentless quest to stay in power, utilising every means possible, both within and outside his party.

The leaders of Bersih 4.0 and others who think that street demonstrations will force him to resign are naive. He already has shown that he has no hesitation to turn tear gas and billy clubs on his own people. That is what they will face on Aug 29.

As things now stand, I cannot think of a good outcome. It is only going to get worse.

Cry, the beloved country. I can only weep when I think of Malaysia's future, when one man is able to subvert the institutions of government and thwart the will of the people. And when the great majority of the Malaysian people, from former leaders to the man in the street, stand by silently, and let him do it.- John R.Malott,mk
