— EdisiRakyat

Pasai apa selepas 3 minggu baru mahu siasat ugutan ‘parang terbang’ Jamal Tongkoi...

Image result for RM3.4m cash from SRC put into PM’s accounts in early 2015,
How many accounts,
how much money does Najib have...

A DAP leader is wondering how many bank accounts does Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak have, and how much money are in them.

Party acting chairperson Tan Kok Wai raised this issue following Sarawak Report's latest allegation that RM3.4 million in cash was deposited into Najib's accounts in early 2015.

Tan said the exact amount of Najib's wealth was still unknown, and likened it to the Sabah Water Department corruption case, where the actual amount involved is continuously increasing.

"How much has not been revealed by Sarawak Report? How much of Najib's unknown funds? Najib should offer an explanation (to the people)," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

Tan said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigation into the 'Ops Water' probe in Sabah only saw middle-level public servants arrested.

"PM, cabinet members, deputy ministers, menteri besar, chief ministers, state executive councillors – are they all 'clean'? This is the biggest question," he added.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, who was also present, concurred.

She claimed the MACC was only aiming for the "small fish", but letting the "big fish" go free.

Nurul said MACC should immediately look into Sarawak Report's allegations if the graft-buster was indeed independent, trustworthy and accountable.

Sarawak Report had claimed that cash deposits totalling RM3.4 million were made into two Ambank accounts purportedly belonging to Najib in February and March 2015.

Citing alleged leaks by investigators, the website claimed the accounts were managed by SRC International Sdn Bhd former managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil.

Nik Faisal was the signatory for the accounts, Sarawak Report alleged in an email.

Previously, it was reported that SRC's transaction to the prime minister's accounts could total RM74 million.

Najib has repeatedly denied abusing public funds for personal gain.

Sarawak Report’s London-based editor Claire Rewcastle-Brown has been accused of being part of a conspiracy to topple the prime minister, but she has denied this. - mk

Nasrudin yet to pay Guan Eng RM10k owed...

PAS Information chief Nasrudin Hassan has yet to comply with the Penang High Court's order that he pays Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng RM10,000 in costs for posting an offending article on Facebook.

This is according to Lim's special legal officer Raja Syarafina Raja Shuib, who said three months have passed since the High Court in Penang issued the order.

"This order from the honourable High Court clearly states that the defendant (Nasrudin) must pay costs, to prove that he has regretted making baseless claims against the chief minister, and that he would withdraw the article," Raja Syarafina said.

"Failure or refusal to pay the amount, as instructed by the court, shows a contempt of court," she added in a statement today.

Malaysiakini has contacted Nasrudin, and is awaiting the Termeloh MP's response.

Lim filed a defamation suit against Nasrudin on Nasrudin's Facebook post, but withdrew it after both parties agreed to resolve the matter in the High Court in Penang on Jan 18.

Nasrudin agreed to express his regret in court for the article which was posted on his Facebook page on Aug 6, 2014.

He also agreed to retract the article and pay RM10,000 to Lim to cover legal costs.

The case involved his Facebook posting titled ‘Apa Beza Kidex dan Terowong Pulau Pinang’ (What is the difference between the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway and Penang undersea tunnel).

Nasrudin criticised opposition supporters who condemned former Selangor menteri besar Khalid Ibrahim for the Kidex project but did not take Lim to task for the proposed Penang undersea tunnel, which is to link Gurney Drive to mainland Butterworth.

Nasrudin had claimed that the tunnel project was awarded based on direct negotiations but Lim insisted that it was an open tender based on a Request for Proposal exercise.

"We only managed to extract the order from the High Court on Sept 14. Nasrudin and his lawyer were notified about it via a registered post on Sept 19," Raja Syarafina said.- mk

Penang People Front...

The obscure but newly-minted Penang Front Party's plan to have a casino on the island has been smacked by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

Lim said the party, with Umno's Padang Besar MP Zahidi Zainul Abidin as an adviser and supported by some 80 NGOs, has suggested a proposal which is uncalled for.

"Is this a new policy by Umno, to have casinos in the state?" Lim asked at a press conference in Komtar today.

"Do they want Penang to be like Macau? This is not our policy, " Lim added.

Lim was referring to a report in a Malay language daily which claimed that the new party, which has obtained approval of the Registrar of Societies, planned to apply for a licence from the federal government to run a casino. - mk

Anonymous_1375701728 - Strange that a suggestion to start a casino comes from a party whose advisor is an UMNO member. Thought gambling is prohibited in Islam. What say you PAS. Sokongkah?
