Ratusan PATI lolos ke Tawau,Sabah setiap hari...

Media Indonesia Dakwa Ratusan PATI Mendarat Di Tawau Setiap Hari...

- suarasabah

WSJ: Hundreds of Petronas employees to be laid off...

Hundreds of Petronas employees may have to look for new jobs soon, as the national oil and gas firm is reported to be downsizing.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) cited sources as saying that Petronas "is looking to cut several hundred more jobs as it continues to grapple with weak oil prices".

It also cited a Petronas statement on Tuesday as saying the firm will "continually review its business strategies and staffing levels as it adjusts to changes in demand.

"This transformation exercise cuts across the entire Petronas group, including at subsidiary levels.

"More information will be disclosed as and when appropriate," Petronas reportedly said.

The company announced in March this year that 1,000 jobs would become redundant under a group-wide transformation exercise, and that efforts were being made to re-deploy the affected workers.

"Petronas has 53,000 employees as of the end of 2015, according to its latest annual report," the WSJ said.

In August, Petronas reported a 96 percent drop in profits in the last quarter due to sustained low oil prices.

Net income fell to RM348 million, in the three months through June, sharply lower than the RM9.1 billion it made a year ago.- mk

How can their income fall 96% from RM9.1 Billion all the way down to RM348 million in just three months? This is serious.

People who know Petronas say that ALL their investments overseas are churning losses except for one - a petrol retailer in South Africa called Engen.

Remember Petronas' big foray into Sudan? Billions of Ringgits invested. Well Sudan has since split into two countries and there is a war going on in South Sudan.  Not a great place to invest.

That investment in Canada is a huge suction pump - sucking up money.

Petronas has 53000 employees. At minimum wage levels of RM1000 per month, Petronas' wage bill alone is RM53 million a month. Or RM636 million a year.

If the average wage at Petronas is RM3000 per month that works out to RM1.9 billion per year.

If revenue is RM348m the last quarter, that works out to revenue of RM1.392B per year.

So annual wages = RM1.9b and annual revenue = RM1.4b  ! ! That is a huge problem.

And you dont pay wages from revenue. Wages are paid from Gross Profits which is Revenue minus COGS.  So there is even less money to pay wages.

Remember folks what I said - they are going to drive their cars until the gas tank runs dry. Then they will get down from the car, just stand there and will not know what to do.

Folks, there are easy ways to overcome all our problems. This is a very rich country. The wealth is lying all around us. It even shines down on our heads from the sky. Yes folks, sunshine is wealth.

WE can overcome all our problems easily. WE need a completely new set of people. We need completely new thinking.

Have faith. Dont be afraid. But we must get rid of these stupid thieves who are in power. The whole lot of them - not just thieves but really stupid thieves.- ostb

Mohd Ali claimed he was misquoted regarding the threat, which is now being investigated by the police.“I am innocent. I did not finish my sentence (and the media) does not possess any recording or video which quoted me issuing such (threats),"
