Pakatan proving to be a viable and capable alternative......

Pakatan Rakyat is now facing its first serious electoral test since its formation. How has it performed so far? While the ride has been bumpy, I believe that any fair yardstick must give Pakatan due credit for holding together and pursuing the agenda its supporters voted for. Pakatan Rakyat remains a viable political coalition, and offers a much stronger alternative to the electorate than its individual component parties did in the general election of March 2008.

The recent general election was actually a bit of an aberration in that for the first time in living memory there was actually a discernible core in all the manifestos of the different opposition parties. All three Pakatan parties have committed themselves to battling racism, reforming our government and improving access to economic opportunities. These were the three main planks of their platforms, and are what the voters of five states and Peninsular Malaysia at the federal level voted for.

Now, it is easy to think that Pakatan might be in danger of falling apart because of personal differences their politicians may have, or even policy differences. But I think we are really holding Pakatan to an unfair standard here. Barisan Nasional does not have a coherent platform to speak of, and its component parties bicker incessantly.

One thing Pakatan has going for it is that all its parties agree on the three problems they see facing the country, and more or less how to solve them. Barisan’s platform is predicated on denying the existence of these problems, and seems to have more of a vague theme running along the lines of “don’t bother switching, you have it so good”. Since before the March elections, and even more ever since then, Barisan parties have openly bickered on important policy issues. Umno says one thing about race, MCA says another; Umno says one thing about religion, MCA says another; Umno and MCA say one thing about the Internal Security Act, Gerakan and PPP say another. Barisan now has nothing to unite itself on except antipathy towards Pakatan, and a ragtag bunch of Pakatan-haters does not a coalition make.

The most pressing issue facing Pakatan at the moment is the struggle over hudud laws. Noted liberal Pas vice-president Husam Musa recently promised Pas supporters that it will continue to press for enactment of hudud laws at the federal level; the DAP has been equally adamant in reassuring its supporters that it will oppose hudud laws. The PKR position remains an enigma, but I imagine in its traditional spirit of compromise that when the issue comes to a vote, it will let its MPs vote freely. At first glance, this lack of Pakatan unity seems troubling.

But the true test of a political coalition is not singleminded ideological coherence; the true test is whether the component parties can give and take enough to govern effectively together. Husam explicitly stated that hudud laws would only be passed if other Pakatan parties consented; this is and always has been the Pas position, since even before the March general election. He did not say that Pas would quit the potential Pakatan government, or withhold support on other key issues if the theoretical hudud Bill failed. Pas is merely saying that it supports hudud laws; it is not saying that it will upset the wishes of the electorate at large by overturning the Pakatan agenda and quitting the coalition if it cannot get its way.

True reason for concern would be Pas talking of quitting Pakatan if the other parties refuse to accept the hudud laws. But this is not the case; Pas respects the right of other Pakatan component parties to differ, and has taken pains to assure everyone that it will not force the hand of its fellow Pakatan partners.

To put this in perspective, Britain is governed by one party: Labour. Did Labour have a consensus about sending the young men and women of its armed forces to die in Iraq? Ministers quit the Labour government and numerous MPs voted against the party line in 2003 to voice their opposition. Yet did anyone muse about the possible collapse of the Labour government? No, because it was clear that in spite of their strong differences, the Labour government still had the support of its backbenchers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with individual component parties or even politicians taking different stands on important issues; that is the essence of democracy.

The real test of Pakatan’s staying power will be its viability to govern. Before March 2008, there was little way to tell how a Pakatan government would function — if it would function at all. But we have had almost a year with almost half the states in our federation under Pakatan governance, and we are nowhere near the disaster which Barisan promised us would occur if we voted in a Pakatan government.

The occasional mishap under the Pakatan government in Selangor can hardly measure up to the scandals of the previous Barisan Nasional state government; the combined government in Perak has been working surprisingly effectively and efficiently even under a Pas menteri besar; Penang keeps moving forward with little friction, the occasional Umno-provoked demonstration aside. The three most developed states in the country have been governed with remarkably little muss or fuss by Pakatan; it is true that things in the states are far from perfect, but they show no signs of collapse, and they continue to develop and grow regardless of the party in power.

Every indication so far is that Pakatan remains a viable political grouping, with mature leaders willing to work together in spite of their differences to achieve their common ends. Before March 8, not many of us could seriously say we believed the Pakatan parties could hold together and govern; it is clear now that they are capable of doing as much, if not more. If the Malaysian people still hunger for the reforms, the change, the equality of opportunity we have been promised by our politicians from both Pakatan and Barisan, we have every reason now to seriously consider Pakatan a viable and capable alternative government.- John Lee.

Zaid Ibrahim, "I believe he’ll be Prime Minister one day"........

Prior to the March 8 general election, many had considered Anwar Ibrahim to be a spent force. But the charismatic politician proved his critics wrong and is now back in the forefront albeit on the other side of the fence.

The question is beginning to surface now that the euphoria of the 8 March 2008 election has waned. Anwar Ibrahim is a personality you are familiar with and is someone I admire immensely for his courage and tenacity.

He has been the cement holding together the parties of the Pakatan Rakyat, with their diverse political philosophies and varying political agendas. I believe he’ll be Prime Minister one day. Certainly, he will continue to be the main player in Malaysian politics for many years to come.

As you no doubt know, he is once again facing a charge for sodomy. Some are of the view that he will be incarcerated again, either through the courts or by executive detention order. I am not so sure.

The public demands by some Cabinet ministers for Anwar to volunteer a DNA sample at the time he was arrested and subsequently when charged suggests that there are doubts. Without a conviction, he cannot be incarcerated.

A detention under the Internal Security Act by a new Najib government would invite serious repercussions both domestically and internationally at a time when economic and social conditions are in a mess.

I would like to think that Dato Seri Najib appreciates that he has other options to win the support of the people in the next general election. Detaining Anwar under the ISA is an unnecessary risk and may well turn the tide completely against the BN.

Nonetheless, I cannot say with certainty that Anwar will not be detained. Such is the state of play in Malaysian politics.

The Pakatan Rakyat, on its part, cannot assume that they are safely on the road to Putrajaya come 2012. The honeymoon is over for the five Pakatan Rakyat State governments of Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, Penang and Selangor. The PR must ensure that it retains these states. One would have thought that given the results in March, this would be a given. This may however prove not to be the case.

It is said that on March 8th last year, Malaysians went in search a viable alternative. The PR must show that it is that alternative. Public infighting is not the way to go about that, yet this is what the PR has come to be identified with in recent days. The coalition needs to build on its common identity and provide for a common platform on major issues. Member parties must go beyond issues like the implementation of Islamic criminal law and concentrate on delivering on their collective message of social justice and compassionate and fair governance.

In this, PAS, with its Islam-centric philosophy has to work harder to fall in line with PKR and DAP whose ideologies are more closely aligned. Whether the ulamaks of PAS are able to make this concession will be a test not just of their own maturity but also of the cohesiveness of the PR.

In short, the PR must show itself to be a real alternative to the BN way of doing things. To be able to retain the states currently ruled by them, PR must offer more effective policies and initiatives when compared to those of the BN. It will not be sufficient for them to depend on the personality of their leaders. That may have been enough the first time round, but the voters expect more and rightly so.

But I must emphasize here that Malaysians are a patient lot. They have been patient with Barisan Nasional for so many years and I am sure they will be patient with Pakatan Rakyat as well. But Pakatan should never take the people for granted. In this, it would also be enormously helpful for Anwar Ibrahim to change his grandstanding ways.

Proclaiming dates of anticipated takeovers without the ability to follow through merely distract and detract. Powerplays like that have undermined the PR in a way that has been wholly unnecessary.

Anwar should instead focus on getting PR together as an entity with one coherent vision for the country. He has after all, the support of the rank and file of all the parties in Pakatan Rakyat, although not necessarily some of its leaders.

Zaid has a point there. As I had said before that Pakatan Rakyat had been enthrusted by the rakyat to bring about changes. The 5 Pakatan Rakyat gomen is a test to see whether they really "cakap serupa bikin". To the leaders of Pakatan Rakyat, the rakyat had faith in you when they voted you in. So proof yourself a worthy choice of the rakyat.

As for the rakyat, they have the final say as to whom will they support, UMNO/BN or the opposition Pakatan Rakyat. But if the current Pakatan Rakyat's leader behaves like their UMNO/BN conterparts then it wont be suprise, if another political tsunami strikes in 2013.

Kuala Terengganu by-election - the stakes are high ......

Campaigning starts today in a by-election in Kuala Terengganu, a parliamentary seat held by the government. While the outcome of the Jan 17 poll will not significantly alter the balance of power in parliament, it is a key test for Najib Razak, the man who will become Malaysia's prime minister in March, and for the opposition of Anwar Ibrahim. Mr Najib has declared it as a 'must win' seat .

The government has 137 seats in parliament, Anwar's coalition has 82 and there are two independents who quit the government. Ethnic Malays account for 87.4 per cent of the 80,326 voters in the constituency. The main government party, the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) won the seat in the 2008 general election by a slender majority of 628 votes, despite a massive national swing to the opposition. In the 2004 elections, Umno had a 1,933 majority.

The government is still reeling from the 2008 election in which it lost power in five of 13 states, as well as its once iron-clad two-thirds parliamentary majority. The opposition maintained that momentum with a huge by-election win for Mr Anwar in August last year, when he was returned to parliament for the first time in a decade. The vote is taking place against a background of slowing economic growth. Although Mr Najib will stand unopposed in Umno party polls in March, there are still battles for other top posts and he needs a big win to silence his critics in Umno. If he does not win the by-election by a large margin, his premiership could be undermined before it starts.

Even a narrow win for the opposition would be enough for Mr Anwar to claim the momentum of public support is still with him. Malaysia's Islamic party, Parti Islam se-Malaysia (PAS), one of the three members of Mr Anwar's coalition, is contesting the seat which it held in 1999. Terengganu is home to the biggest oil reserves in Malaysia, with giants such as Exxon Mobil Corp there. Yet it remains one of the poorest states in the country.

When PAS won control of the state of Terengganu in 1999, the federal government stopped payment of the oil royalties to the state, channelling the funds federally instead. PAS chose a popular and combative local politician, Abdul Wahid, as its candidate. PAS wants an Islamic state and its comments on implementing Islamic criminal and civil law have in the past upset the secular parties in Mr Anwar's coalition, especially the ethnic Chinese party, the Democratic Action Party.

While PAS vies with Umno for the Malay Muslim vote, it usually only performs well when it is a member of a national coalition. Eleven per cent of the electorate in the seat is ethnic Chinese and PAS needs those votes to win. PAS will target the links of Umno candidate Wan Farid to the Monsoon Cup, an annual yachting event costing RM300 million (S$125.7 million). That money, it says, would be better spent helping the poor.

Money will play a big part in the campaign and Mr Najib personally handed over a cheque for RM408.6 million for the state's oil royalties when he visited the state. Vote-fraud allegations are a common complaint by the opposition and could feature here. The opposition claimed massive vote fraud when the government wrested control of the Terengganu state from PAS in the 2004 polls. The claims were not proven and were strongly denied by the government. Police fired shots during a protest demanding fair elections in Kuala Terengganu in 2007 and two demonstrators were injured.

Mr Anwar lost political traction when he failed to win over government MPs to take power on Sept 16 last year. A resounding win would re-establish his momentum and keep his fractious alliance of PAS, urban reformers and the DAP together. Mr Anwar, a former Muslim activist, is popular among Muslim voters, despite his imprisonment for sodomy and corruption in the late 1990s, and new charges of homosexuality that are in the courts. The by-election will provide an important reading on his popularity with rural Malays, a key voter segment whose support will be required if the opposition is to win Malaysia's next general election, scheduled for 2013.

While economists have praised Mr Anwar's policies, particularly his anti-corruption stance and plans to remove a system of economic and social preferences for ethnic Malays, he also has a populist message. He opposed moves to end fuel subsidies that cost the Budget RM18.1 billion last year.

This is not only a contest between BN and Pakatan Rakyat but a test of popularity between the DPM Najib and the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. Both Najib and Anwar need the win, to establish their credibility. As for now, Najib "lost" in Permatang Pauh and how well can Najib regain his credibilty as an UMNO leader and the PM to be is left to be seen.

A narrow win for Pakatan Rakyat will be enough for Anwar to claim the momentum of public support is still with him, while Mr Najib needs to win by a large margin to silence his critics in Umno.

The election also will see how the Malays will cast vote this time around in support of UMNO's "ketuanan Melayu" or Pakatan Rakyat's "ketuanan rakyat"........

The battle for Kuala Terengganu begins.......

The Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election on Jan 17 will see a three-corner fight among Barisan Nasional (BN), PAS and an independent candidate. The BN candidate, Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, will face Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut of PAS and independent candidate Azharudin Mamat alias Adam. Returning officer Datuk Mat Razali Kassim made the announcement after at the nomination centre at the State Stadium after the objection period ended at 11am. He said four objections were received but they were all rejected.

Wan Ahmad Farid, the former deputy home minister, was the first to submit his nomination papers when the centre opened at 10am. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, MIC secretary-general Datuk Dr S.Subramaniam and 15,000 supporters. Wan Ahmad Farid was proposed by Terengganu Umno Youth chief Mohd Sabri Alwi and seconded by MCA secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng.


The PAS candidate, Mohd Abdul Wahid, a Wakaf Mempelam state assemblyman for five terms since 1990, arrived at the centre at 9.10am accompanied by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim of Parti Keadilan Rakyat and about 15,000 supporters. His proposer was Terengganu PAS commissioner Datuk Mustafa Ali and seconder, Md Azmi Lok Yusof.

Azharudin, 46, a businessman caused a stir when he turned up at the nomination centre at 9.27am to submit his nomination papers because his candidacy was unexpected. He was proposed by Ahmad Affendi Shah Mamat alias Adam and seconded by Zakaria Abdullah.


Harun Alias Ab Rahman Mohamad of Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim), who had expressed his intention to contest earlier, arrived at 9.20am but did not submit his nomintion papers. Another potential candidate, Isma a Airfath Hassanuddin, did not show up.

The party supporters started converging on the area near the nomination centre as early as 6am.Several roads near the stadium were closed by police to facilitate traffic control. Police helicopters hovered above to monitor the situation. It was reported that 6,000 police personnel would be deployed to ensure public order during the by-election which is being held following the death of incumbent Datuk Razali Ismail on Nov. 28 2008.

According to Election Commission records, there are 80,229 voters in the constituency. The weather was fine throughout the nomination process.

Kuala Terengganu byelection - Nomination day.........

The weather in Terengganu may be erratic but, come rain or shine, the potential candidates of the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election and others politically inclined are all set for Nomination Day today.

While dark clouds loomed and rain fell in several districts in the state, resulting in the continuation of floods which cut off road communication in some places, the state capital by contrast basked in sunshine for the most part of today. And the atmosphere has turned somewhat electric as election fever began tightening its grip. Hotels are ringing in brisk business, with many of them indicating they are fully booked, while eateries are packed with hordes of out-of-towners as can be discerned from the vehicles bearing non-Terengganu registration plates.

The strong winds of the current monsoon season have also given added flutter to the banners, flags and buntings of the political parties vying for greater visibility. The Meteorological Department has forecast fine weather tomorrow morning for Kuala Terengganu but it would be wet in the afternoon.

When the Stadium Negeri opens its doors at 9am tomorrow, four "wakil rakyat" aspirants are expected to turn up to submit their nominations. Four potential candidates have declared their intention to contest the by-election, necessitated by the death of MP Datuk Razali Ismail, who was deputy education minister, on Nov 28. Former deputy home minister Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh has been named by the Barisan Nasional (BN) as its candidate while PAS has announced five-term Wakaf Mempelam state assemblyman Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut as its choice. Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim) is also joining the fray through Harun alias Abdul Rahman Mohamad while Isma Airfath Hassanuddin is likely to contest as an independent.

But the excitement of tomorrow's nomination will miss "Tok Mun" or Maimun Yusof, the 89-year-old who grabbed headlines in the last general election by campaigning on a bicycle. She has opted to stay out this time around as she claimed that she did not have the funds to pay the deposit. A check with the Terengganu Election Commission (EC) revealed that 11 sets of nomination forms had been sold so far.

"But that does not reflect the total number of people who will contest," said Terengganu EC director Mohd Noor Daud. Irrespective of the number, the battle for the seat will obviously be narrowed down to that between BN and PAS. For the BN, winning the by-election is crucial because it wants to consolidate its two-term grip on the seat while PAS wants to wrest it back as it deems the constituency to be its one-time stronghold.

From tomorrow, campaigning is expected to pick up steam and become more intense as campaign workers and supporters fan out to win the hearts and minds of the 80,229 registered voters before they cast their ballots on Jan 17. The EC is preparing 36 polling centres and 143 polling streams for the by-election.

Salahkah kalau tegur menegur? ini bukan UMNO......

Tindakan Setiausaha Agung DAP, Lim Guan Eng yang meminta Penasihat Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim supaya memastikan pemimpin parti itu lebih berdisiplin menggambarkan pakatan pembangkang itu masih berada dalam proses penyesuaian dalaman.

Perkara sedemikian dilihat oleh penganalisis politik tempatan sebagai tindakan tidak matang kerana ia menunjukkan kerapuhan sistem pakatan yang mereka amalkan.

Pensyarah Sains Politik, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Dr. Ahmad Nizamuddin Sulaiman berkata situasi sedemikian menggambarkan seolah-olah Anwar tidak dihormati.

Sue me says Raja Petra..............

First, let me talk about Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman’s comment. He said he is going to sue opposition leaders who slander him. Well, maybe Rashid can reflect on the many official meetings the opposition leaders had with him over the last ten years in his office in Putrajaya. I was there, in case Rashid would like to know, and let me remind him how disastrous those meetings turned out to be.

The main grievance was with regards to postal voters. Why do we still need the police and armed forces to vote by post when they are no longer located in the deep jungles of Malaysia for nine months at a stretch? They are all now located in their barracks or quarters and the polling stations are within walking distance from where they live.

All they need to do is walk a few minutes to the polling stations to cast their vote. And they need not do this five days before Polling Day and by post like now. If not because of the postal votes, the opposition would have won all 11 Parliament seats in Kuala Lumpur instead of only 10 like it did on 8 March.

Rashid’s reply to the proposal to abolish the postal voting system is that if they do that then none of the cabinet ministers would be able to retain their seats. When the shocked assembly asked Rashid is not the purpose of the Election Commission to ensure that they run a fair and free election, he shocked the assembly even further by retorting that the purpose of the Election Commission is to ensure that the Malays do not lose political power.

The Malaysian election system is rife with fraud and manipulation. The gerrymandering is preposterous and makes a mockery of democratic elections. Rashid, sue me. Take me to court. I am waiting to meet you in court so that I can reveal all the evidence we accumulated since 1999 about how you have fucked up the election system so bad that, last year, I actually appealed to the opposition to boycott the elections.

I am glad they did not do as I suggested though because 8 March 2008 proved the people were so disgusted and wanted change so bad that the 'big swing' managed to offset the cheating. But imagine if there was no cheating. Today, with a mere 300,000 votes more, Pakatan Rakyat would have formed the federal government. Yes, Pakatan Rakyat missed forming the government by a mere 300,000 votes. The postal votes alone, had they not been all mysteriously marked ‘Barisan Nasional’, would have given Pakatan Rakyat the federal government.

Rashid, you robbed Malaysians of a new government and I hope they have a special hell for people like you.

In 2004, the general election that saw Barisan Nasional perform its best ever, many seats like Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Selangor, etc., saw a 130% voter turnout. The national voter turnout averaged 75% or so. But many opposition strongholds fell to Barisan Nasional because of the more than 100% voter turnout.

What about the hundreds of Indians from Telok Kemang registered as voters in many kampong houses in Ijok during the Ijok by-election? What about the man voting as a woman whom we caught in Putrajaya and who was still allowed to vote, as much as we protested? What about the hundreds of voters having their residential address at graveyards? ‘Pengundi hantu’ maybe? These are but some of the many cases and let me assure you we have much, much more.

So, sue me Rashid. Take me to court, you slime-ball, scumbag and poor excuse for a human, and let all these details surface in my trial. I eagerly await your Writ of Summons.

Ini satu berita gempar dan amat mengejutkan telah kami terima daripada satu sumber yang amat dipercayai. Sebelum ini kami telah mendedahkan betapa "murahnya" hati YAB Menteri Besar Pahang, Dato' Seri Adnan Yaakob kerana sudi menghadiahkan "tanah" kepada Pengerusi SPR yang bakal pencen tidak lama lagi iaitu Tan Sri Abd Rashid Abd Rahman. Pendedahan kami itu telah menggegarkan puak-puak UMNO Pahang. Apakah simboliknya tanah yang begitu luas dihadiahkan kepada Rashit SPR?. Apakah ini bermakna terdapat satu perancangan "jahat" yang dibuat oleh UMNO dan BN Pahang bagi memastikan kemenangan mutlak BN di Pahang dalam pilihanraya umum yang lalu. Ini bermakna, negeri pimpinan Adnan Yaakob telah diselamatkan oleh Rashit SPR dari gelombang "Tsunami Politik" yang melanda seluruh negara.

Justeru itulah beliau dihadiahkan "tanah" oleh MB Pahang. Ini amat mengecewakan seluruh rakyat, termasuk juga puak-puak UMNO karat itu sendiri. Mereka pun begitu sukar sebenarnya untuk memohon tanah biarpun sekangkang kera. Namun kini, ada satu berita baru yang pasti lebih menggemparkan disaat Pengerusi SPR itu kini berkokok kononnya akan menyaman mana-mana pemimpin pembangkang yang menfitnah dirinya. Katanya sepanjang 25 tahun menjadi orang kuat SPR beliau telah berjaya menjalankan pilihanraya yang adil dan telus. Bahkan katanya. SPR tidak kuasa untuk menghalang penggunaan media dan lain-lain instrumen kerajaan oleb Barisan Nasional. Justeru itulah, beliau menafikan yang SPR berkerjasama dengan kerajaan BN untuk memastikan pakatan karat itu terus berkuasa biarpun telah ditolak oleh rakyat sebenarnya.

Rashit SPR ini juga mengatakan beliau akan membuat tindakan tersebut selepas tamat tempoh perkhidmatannya hari ini. Beliau akan bersara wajib mulai hari ini selepas sekian lama menjadi "pencatur" perjalanan politik di negara kita. Terkadang rasa naik "meloya tekak" bila mendengar penjelasan "bangang" si Rashit ini sebenarnya. Kononnya beliau menjalankan tugas dengan penuh amanah dan bertanggungjawab sejak mengendalikan pilihanraya di negera ini.

Kami tidak mahu mengulas tentang kebobrokan SPR ini sebenarnya. Sebab semua rakyat yang cintakan keadilan melihat apa yang berlaku didepan mata mereka. Rashit boleh "berkata apa saja" kononnya beliau diftinah, ditohmah dan bermacam-macam lagi. Maka dengan bangganya. beliau akan membuat tindakan saman terhadap pemimpin pembangkang terbabit. Anehnya, beliau bertegas bahawa hanya pemimpin pembangkang sahaja yang menfitnah dirinya. Sebaliknya tiada pemimpin UMNO dan BN yang berbuat demikian. Ini bermakna, memang Rashit sebenarnya disokong oleh puak-puak yang telah "memperkotak-katikkan keadilan serta sistem demokrasi" di negara ini.

Rashit tidak perlu terlalu bangga dan mendabik dada dengan kenytaaan beliau itu. Ini kerana rakyat sudah bijak menilai apa yang berlaku. Perjalanan pilihanraya di Malaysia terus dicemari dengan berbagai siu dan taktik kotor dalam memastikan kuasa terus berpihak kepada kerajaan. Rashit juga perlu menjawab isu persempadanan semula, celup jari dengan dakwat, pengundi hantu, undi pos dan banyak lagi yang ternyata telah disalah gunakan oleh pihak-pihak tertentu. Lihat sahaja di negeri Pahang ini, Rashit membantu TPM Najib untuk mendapat kemenangan mutlak dengan majoriti tinggi selepas dikejutkan dalam pilihanraya umum ke-10 dulu. Najib sudah tewas jika tidak dibantu dengan "undi pos" yang hadir lewat malam. Sedangkan semua pihak sudah tahu keputusan lebih awal.

Rashit Perancang Kemenangan Najib Razak

Tiba-tiba, Najib dimenangkan dengan undi pos yang entah dari mana datangnya. Bagi mengukuhkan lagi bakal PM itu, kawasan yang terletak dalam daerah Kuantan dan sah berada dalam parlimen Paya Besar telah dihantar ke parlimen Pekan. Kawasan itu ialah Kem Batu 10, Kuantan yang menempatkan hampir 12,000 angkatan tentera. Diwujudkan sebuah kawasan DUN baru yang dinamakan Pulau Manis. Inilah dia sebenarnya penipuan jelas yang dibuat secara terancang antara Rashit dan juga Najib Razak. Itupun Rashit masih mahu mengatakan beliau tidak bersalah dan semua itu hanya fitnah semata-mata?. Begitu juga dalam kes celup dakwat pada jari. SPR telah membazirkan wang rakyat untuk menempah sistem terbabit tetapi akibat gusar ia akan menyukarkan "pengundi hantu" beroperasi maka dengan kuasa yang ada beliau membatalkan penggunaan dakwat tersebut disaat akhir. Atas alasan dakwat itu telah dibeli juga oleh orang lain untuk tujuan penipuan. Hingga ke hari ini tiada apa tindakan dan akhirnya beliau pula mengaku hanya mendapat laporan dan khabar angin. Bukankah ini jelas penipuan terancang Rashit untuk memastikan kerajaan BN tidak dimalukan baru-baru ini. Itu pun Pakatan Rakyat telah berjaya menidakkan majoriti 2/3 BN di parlimen. Bayangkan jika penggunaan dakwat itu dilakukan, sudah pasti kerajaan pusat sudah bertukar selapas tanggal 8 Mac 2008 yang lalu.

Apakah ini semua satu fitnah?. Rashit kononnya profesional tetapi dalam masa mengumumkan keputusan pilihanraya umum ke-12 lalu jelas sekali beliau seperti pemimpin UMNO dan BN. Cakap dan gayanya menunjukkan beliau terlalu kecewa dengan keputusan yang berlaku. Malah, beliau juga gagal melaporkan keputusan di negeri yang dimenangi oleh Pakatan Rakyat. Melihat watak beliau pada malam keputusan itu, sudah jelas kepada kita baha siapa Rashit ini sebenarnya. Maka usahlah Rashit ingin menjadi juara kononnya beliau "bersih" dari segala tohmahan yang dibuat. Mungkin dek kerana beliau akan berara wajib pada hari ini 31 Disember 2008 maka segala bukti-bukti tentang penyelewengan yang dibuatnya sejak sekian lama akan dibersihkan oleh pihak-pihak tertentu. Ini kononnnya bagi menjaga nama baik beliau, dan atas perkara itulah kini beliau dengan angkuh dan sombong mengatakan akan menfailkan tindakan saman terhadap mana-mana pemimpin pembangkang yang dikatakan menfitnah dirinya itu.

Rashit Dapat Tanah "Pilihanraya"Di Pahang

Sebelum ini, kami pernah mendedahkan bahawa Pengerusi SPR itu telah dihadiahkan tanah oleh MB Pahang. Ini berikutan dengan jasa-jasa Rashit yang telah menyelamatkan Pahang dari gelombang "Tsunami Pilihanraya" lalu. Mereka hanya gagal berbuat demikian di parlimen Kuantan dan Indera Mahkota, kerana pemimpin Pakatan Rakyat di kawasan itu memantau perjalanan pilihanraya dengan sistematik. Akhirnya kedua-dua kerusi parlimen itu jatuh ke tangan Pakatan Rakyat dari PKR. Namun bagi lain-lain kawasan, ternyata UMNO dan BN masih dapat bertahan dari gelombang yang berlaku. Kami sudah mengenal pasti beberapa lokasi tanah tang berkaitan. Antaranya di sekitar daerah Maran, Temerloh dan Raub Pahang. Namun begitu siasatan kami untuk lokasi terbabit agak terjejas apabila segala data di Pejabat Tanah telah dihilangkan oleh pihak-pihak tertentu. Namun, satu penemuan terbaru telah dikenalpasti baru-baru ini. Pengerusi SPR itu dipercayai telah mempunyai tanah seluas lebih kurang 400 ekar di kawasan Raub Pahang. Maklumat yang kami terima, tanah terbabit dibuat atas nama anaknya bersama seorang pemimpin politik di Pahang.

Kami masih menyiasat perkara ini dan akan membongkarkannya dalam masa terdekat. Difahamkan juga semua proses tanah terbabit sudah hampir selesai sepenuhnya dan hanya menunggu geran sahaja. Krew kami di kawasan terbabit melaporkan bahawa tanah tersebut adalah anugerah dari MB Pahang atas kerjasama yang diberikan oleh Rashit SPR bagi memastikan negeri Pahang tidak tumbang ke tangan pembangkang dalam pilihanraya umum lalu. Soalnya di sini, siapakah pemimpin politik terbabit yang khabarnya bertaraf "Ketua Bahagian" di Pahang. Kami sedang mengumpulkan segala bukti dan maklumat berkaitan untuk didedahkan dalam masa terdekat ini. Justeru itu, kami amatlah berharap agar Rashit SPR dapat berhati-hati dengan tindakannya untuk menyaman pemimpin pembangkang. Jika perkara ini terdedah dan dibongkarkan , sudah pasti beliau akan meneri malu dan tamparan yang lebih hebat. Sebelum ini kami difahamkan juga beliau mempunyai sebauh kilang di Semenyih, Selangor yang juga diusahakan atas nama anaknya dengan pemimpin UMNO dari Sabah. Melihat kepada hubungan akrab beliau dengan pemimpin terbabit dalam urusan bisnes, jelas sekali ia akan menimbulkan lebih banyak skandal dan kontroversi selepas ini. Jangan sampai satu demi satu rahsia penyelewengan beliau dibongkarkan pula nanti.

Maka itu, kita amatlah berharap agar Rashit SPR berehat dan bermuhasabahkan diri serta bermain bersama anak-anak cucunya selepas bersara nanti. Jika beliau ingin menjadi juara saman menyaman kita mencabar agar beliau bertindak sebagai "anak jantan" dan menyertai politik dan bertanding dalam pilihanraya umum akan datang. Jika beliau yakin dirinya berada dipihak yang benar maka sudah pasti rakyat akan memberi sokongan kepadanya. Namun, jika sebaliknya maka terbukti bahawa Rashit hanya bercakap dengan "bayang-bayang sendiri". Usahlah menjolok sarang tebuan, kelak akan memakan diri. Lebih baik beliau perbanyakkan beribadah dan mendekatkan diri kepada tuhan serta menginsafi segala apa yang telah beliau lakukan selama ini. Kerana Rashit akan dikenang sebagai "Bapa Perosak Demokrasi Malaysia". Kami difahamkan pemimpin terbabit adalah merupakan seorang Ketua Bahagian sebuah parti politik terkenal di Pahang, dan mereka kini amat gusar rahsia ini didedahkan kerana hanya menunggu geran sahaja. Justeru itu kami nasihatkan agar mereka berhati-hati jika tidak mahu isu ini dibongkar untuk pengetahuan rakyat dalam masa terdekat ini !!.

Aku rasa Rashid kau bersara senyap-senyap sudahlah kot. Pencen dah besaq,makan tak habis. Kalu hang menang kes mahkamah tak apalah, tapi kalu kalah bukan hang saja yang malu tapi gomen pun terpaksa tutup "kemaluan"nya.......
