UMNO used DYMM Agong to draw Nik Aziz to controversial meet...

PAS Shah Alam parliamentarian Khalid Samad today said that Umno used the Agong to draw PAS spiritual advisor Nik Aziz Nik Mat into the controversial meeting on Dec 25 at the Istana Terengganu Palace in Kuala Lumpur.

"This actually shows how desperate Umno is. They have to use the Agong to invite PAS leaders to dinner," said Khalid at a press conference in his service centre in Shah Alam today. Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin were also present. This led to speculation that talks for a 'Unity Government' were being revived.

He contended that this showed how strong Pakatan was that the Umno had to resort to such underhanded means to try and entice PAS away from its allies. "It is important to know that PAS leaders understand that the concept of Unity Government and cooperation with Umno is rejected by its members. "Whatever was discussed at the dinner, the fact is that PAS leaders did not waver from that stance," assured the Shah Alam MP.

He joked that the situation must indeed be dire for Umno that Premier Najib Abdul Razak and his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin agreed to appear at the same dinner.

"It is not easy for the PM and DPM to appear together," jibed Khalid.
