"Dua lelaki menghampiri saya.

-malaysian insider

My case has nothing to do with sex bloggers, says youth who was abducted...

The youth who was abducted and assaulted by a group of men in Shah Alam and had the words “Saya hina Islam”  written on his body said his case had nothing to do with the hot issue involving the controversial sex bloggers’ Ramadhan photograph.

Ng Mun Tatt, 21, said he was abducted for money and that the words ‘Saya hina Islam’ were a tactic by his assailants so that he would be beaten by the public if he tried to escape.

“I was more shocked when the police said yesterday my case was triggered by the sex bloggers’ case,” he said at a Press conference in Klang today.

“I don't even know anything about them, nor have I offended anyone recently.”

It was the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who told reporters in Bukit Aman yesterday that Ng’s case could have been triggered by sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee's controversial Ramadhan greetings photograph of bak kut teh on Facebook.

Ng’s ordeal began when he was having drinks with his girlfriend, Rachel Leong, 16, and another friend at a stop in Section 25, Shah Alam at 4.30 on Monday.

“Two men approached me. One whispered in my ear asking me if I was ‘Ah Kiong’, while the other guy told my friend and my girlfriend to keep quiet and remain seated,” he said.

“Without waiting for me to answer, he pulled me by my shirt and dragged me to a waiting car.”

He said there were four men inside the silver Proton Saga. Ng said he was beaten, blindfolded and taken to an apartment.

“I didn't know where I was. They took my ATM card and demanded the PIN number,” said Ng, adding that they continued beating him when he could not remember the PIN.

“They also called my brother-in-law demanding RM5,000 for my release.”

Ng said he was then taken to an estate where he was stripped naked, forced to sniff glue and the words were written on his body.

“The men said they wrote the words so that I would be beaten by the public if I tried to escape."

“I was high but after a while when I heard no noise, I took the blindfold off and saw about seven men all looking high. It was also bright then and I escaped.”

Ng said he was so dehydrated he had to drink water from a drain.

”I found myself on the DUKE highway and a motorcyclist helped call the police.

On why he called the Press conference, he said, “I just want to clear the air that my case has nothing to do with any sex bloggers as stated in the media today.”

Ng said he had never even heard of the couple until yesterday, adding that in the past two months he had worked at a handphone shop in Johor before returning to Shah Alam to stay with his sister.

Ng, who is currently unemployed, still looked visibly shaken and weak.

On how his photograph went viral, he said: “I don't know who took it, but I was at a police station that time.” He did not know which station.

“The police have not taken my statement yet but I have been told to be present at the Section 9 police station for an identification parade.”

Ng's brother-in-law, Mak Wui Weng, 28, said the abductors had contacted him about 5am and demanded that he bank in RM5,000.

He only transferred RM3,000 and told them that if they wanted the balance, he had to see Ng.

The sex bloggers, Alvin and Vivian, were hauled up by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission over their controversial Ramadan posting which has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims, with almost all calling for stern action to be taken against the couple.

Police have also reclassified their case to causing disharmony, disunity and hatred on grounds of religion, which could see them jailed for between two and four years.

They have been ordered to surrender to the Kuala Lumpur police immediately. They have yet to turn up at any police station. -malaysian insider
