Kalau MAS merupakan satu entiti yang merugikan, kenapa ada pula syarikat yang nak belinya? Dan pembeli MAS ini pula dengar cerita adalah orang kesayangan Najib yang kini sudah memilikki harta2 berikut...

 

MAS merupakan lubuk emas kepada beberapa pemimpin kerajaan melalui kontrek2 yang luarbiasa. 

Menurut khabar2 angin, banyak faktor yang menyumbangkan kepada kerugian MAS yang berterusan. 

Antara faktor2 itu berkait rapat dengan transaksi meragukan yang melibatkan orang2 politik dalam gomen 1Malaysia.

Following a report in financial journal The Edge, PAS vice president Mahfuz Omar has demanded to know whether there is link between the government's perfomance unit PEMANDU chief executive officer Idris Jala’s ‘suggestion’ of selling the national airlines and a bid by closely-linked tycoon Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary (pic).

Mahfuz raised the suspicion following a report that Malaysian Airlines would make profit in the second quarter of 2013 with positive cash flow.

“Is Idris’s recommendation a precursor to the plan to sell MAS to Syed Mokhtar? Are leaders of UMNO behind the proposal?” asked the Pokok Sena MP.

The report among others claims that Syed Mokhtar had offered to purchase 69.3 percent of national investment arm Khazanah Nasional’s stake in MAS on condition that the government guarantees fuel subsidy for 60 years.

PEMANDU had earlier clarified that Idris did not suggest that MAS be sold.

“In responding to a question whether the government should sell a company such as MAS, Idris responded to say the government should only make a decision to sell if the price is right, and certainly not at a loss or fire sale,” it stated.

Allegations of monopoly have surrounded the billionaire businessman. Besides holding shares in hotelier Tradewinds and MMC Corporation, Syed Mokhtar had also controversially won the bid to privatise Penang Port last year.-harakahdaily
