Akaun rasmi Twitter Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri
Pengguna Twitter Daniel Yahya berkata "Kau bolehlah cerita. Minyak kereta kau poket rakyat yang tanggung.”
Seorang lagi pengguna bernama "Aya" pula menulis: “Macam mana nak bertolak pulang kalau isi minyak pun tak cukup duit. Naik kereta lembu lah macam ni. Selamat hari raya Jib."
Muhammad Izzat Ammar menulis: “Saya lagi terkejut dengar subsidi minyak kena potong 20sen, Pak Cik."
PM's tweets court fuel hike jibes...
Even his tweet on the missing naval gunboat was not spared.
In his latest tweet, Najib had wished all those returning home after the Hari Raya Aidilhadha celebrations a safe journey.
(Surely, many will be returning after the celebration, drive safe, God willing, (you will reach your destinations safely)," read his message.
However, this was met with several sarcastic retorts.
Among them, Daniel Yahya tweeted: "Ko boleh la cerita. Minyak kereta kau poket rakyat yang tanggung...(You can talk, the people pay for your fuel)."
Another user, with the handle "aya", tweeted: "Macam mana nak bertolak pulang kalau isi minyak pun tak cukup duit. Naik kereta lembu lah macam ni. Selamat hari raya jib. (How to leave, when there is not enough money to pour fuel. Have to use a bullock cart)."
In an earlier tweet today, Najib had expressed shock over the missing gunboat, and prayed that the crew be found safe and sound soon.
But detractors continued to take fuel potshots, with one user, Muhammad Izzat Ammar, stating: "Saya lagi terkejut dgr subsidi mnyk kna potong 20 sen pak cik. (I was more shocked to learn that fuel subsidy was cut by 20 sen, uncle)."
Najib's posting on Oct 4 to wish Muslims a blessed Hari Raya Aidiladha also drew similar comments, with users saying they are praying that the prime minister would reduce fuel prices and alleviate their burden.
The hike in prices for the Ron 95 petrol and diesel came into effect on midnight Oct 2.
The prime minister defended the move by Putrajaya, stating that though it was unpopular, it had to be done to look after the interest of the people and country in the long run. - mk
