Jika tak mahu berubah, lebih baik MAS gulung tikar...
16. Mengongsi sedikit kata-kata hikmah pengurusan: ‘Kalau anda mahu miliki apa yang belum anda punyai, maka anda perlu lakukan apa yang belum pernah anda buat’! (If you want what you never had, then you must do what you’ve never done!). Fikir-fikirkan.- dr.dzulkifly ahmad, harakahdaily
MH370 : Kos Mencari MH370 Termahal Dalam Sejarah...
Menurut The Sydney Morning Herald, kos kegunaan kapal HMAS Success milik Australia yang digunakan dua minggu lepas berjumlah US$510,400 (RM1.67 juta) sehari.
Kos HMAS Toowoomba pula berjumlah US$352,640 (RM1.16 juta) termasuk kos minyak dan kru untuk satu hari.
Apabila kos kedua-dua kapal ditambah, ia mencecah US$9.28 juta (RM30.43 juta) untuk berada di Lautan Hindi.
Laporan yang sama turut berkata bahawa pihak Amerika Syarikat (AS) sudah berbelanja sebanyak US$3.06 juta (RM10.04 juta) untuk kegunaan pesawat dan kapal mereka.
Tentera AS turut berbelanja sebanyak US$3.62 juta (RM11.87 juta) bagi kegunaan 'Towed Pinger Locator' (TPL)' untuk mencari kotak hitam pesawat MH370.
Vietnam pula sudah berbelanja US$8.07 juta (RM26.47 juta) bagi penggunaan lapan pesawat mereka.
Akhbar berkenaan melaporkan kos lain pula termasuk wang yang diberi oleh kerajaan Malaysia sebanyak US$5000 (RM16397.50) kepada ahli keluarga penumpang (bukan kru) dan jumlah keseluruhan menjadi US$1.16 juta (RM3.8 juta).
Jumlah boleh mencecah US$49.18 juta (RM161.29 juta) namun ia bukan angka keseluruhan kerana ia melibatkan 26 negara.-tmi

Malaysian Government 'Concealing Information' About Missing Flight MH370...
We are raising serious concerns about incompetence and worse, national security. As a Malaysian I care deeply for the country.
I pray for the passengers and their families. I defend the integrity of the innocent.
And I believe the way forward is to embrace a transparent process that ensures an effective search and rescue operation, accountability for all involved, and for the country to learn lessons and improve to regain our lost credibility in the international community.
'Pinger battery life may be shorter than expected'...
Questions have been raised yet again regarding the integrity of Malaysian Airlines (MAS) flight MH370’s black box pingers, this time by its US-based manufacturer Dukane Seacom Inc.
The company’s president Anish Patel told CNN that the MAS’s pingers were due for battery replacement in 2012, but his company has not received them to date.
If MH370’s pingers are still using the old batteries, he said it could then last only 20 to 25 days, meaning the missing plane's would no longer be emitting signals by now.
The pingers are reportedly sealed and its batteries are not user-replaceable, therefore typically returned to the manufacturer for new ones.
“We have no record of those units ever coming back for a battery replacement," Anish was quoted as saying.
The pinger, or more formally known as underwater locator beacons, is a component of the black box that emits a sound once every second until its batteries are depleted, upon submersion in water.
This sound can be detected up to a distance of 1.5 kilometres with specialised underwater audio emitters, to help searchers locate the black box in the event an aircraft crashes into the water.
Regulatory requirements mean that pinger batteries must last at least 30 days. To meet this requirement, Anish said fresh batteries could last up to 35 days.
The lithium battery strength weakens over time, requiring replacement every five years.
However, he added that apart from a maintenance lapse, there are other possible reasons why his company did not received the pingers.
“Up until 2009, 2010, we used to see it on a regular basis. So, they could have gone to another protocol such as doing it themselves, or they could have gone to another repair facility,” he said.
Previously, CNN had quoted unnamed safety auditors that MAS stores its pingers in hot and humid conditions, contrary to manufacturer’s recommendations that it should be kept refrigerated or at room temperature.
This could potentially half the battery's life of MH370’s black box pingers if they were among those improperly handled, the report says.
Malaysiakini has contacted MAS regarding the storage conditions of MH370’s pingers on March 27, and contacted the airliner again this morning regarding the maintenance of those pingers.
As of writing, there has still be any response to both issues.- mk
