Ahli perniagaan Deepak Jaikishan hari ini mengumumkan meletak jawatan pengarah dari kesemua 26 syarikatnya, didakwa ekoran tekanan ke atasnya oleh lembaga pengarah syarikat berkenaan.

Beliau mendakwa, lembaga pengarah syarikat tersebut berbuat demikian susulan siri wawancara yang diadakan bersama beberapa media termasuk Malaysiakini berhubung kontroversi yang menyelubungi pembunuhan wanita Mongolia Altantuya Shaariibuu.

"Pagi ini saya diminta oleh lembaga pengarah saya untuk meletak jawatan daripada kesemua 26 syarikat yang mana saya merupakan pengarah kerana kontroversi melibatkan Altantuya dan penyiasat persendirian Bala," katanya.

Deepak yang mengenakan baju-T kasual berwarna kelabu kelihatan muram ketika mengumumkan perkara itu dalam sidang media di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.

 Deepak ousted after revolt over his media interviews...

Carpet mogul Deepak Jaikishan announced today he will resign from all companies where he is a director after they revolted against him for his series of interviews with the media on the controversy surrounding murdered Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

"This morning I was asked by my board of directors to resign from all the 26 companies where I am a director because of the controversy involving this Altantuya (left) and private investigator Bala (subramaniam)’s  matter," he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

Deepak, who wore a casual grey T-shirt, appeared solemn and said his family members, too, are upset with him.

"Basically the pressure came after I finished my interviews yesterday, especially my Harakah interview, and I was asked to leave all the 26 companies," he said.

He said that he had been candid with portal Harakahdaily because he shared a sense of spirituality with the organ of Islamic party PAS.

Asked if the revolt was a result of pressure from the powers that be, he replied: "I believe so. There must be people who are not happy because I am revealing the truth, including my own family. They are very unhappy about this.

"But for me, I can't get the ghost of Altantuya out of my system, it has bothered me. I can't do business.

"I want to come clean and I went to a temple and apologised to her for even trying to conceal the fact that I was involved in facilitating the second statutory declaration (SD)," he said.

Deepak had on Monday and Tuesday given several interviews to media about the his links to Najib and the Altantuya controversy including Harakahdaily, Malaysia Chronicles, The Malaysian Insider and Malaysiakini.

Asked if he was approached by the powers that be after his interviews, he declined to answer, stating that he will reply when he takes the stand in a court case on a land dispute tomorrow, involving him, a Selangor Umno leader and the Defence Ministry, which Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had then helmed.

Deepak has accused Najib of receiving "contributions" from him for the former’s intervention in the land deal but is upset that the premier now refuses to aid him in resolving the dispute.

Further to that, he noted that since he fell out with Najib's family after the P Balasubramaniam (right) SD fiasco, companies of which he was involved in had lost several projects.

"There has been a lot of withdrawal, cancellations and indefinite postponements of contracts including a 20-year concession agreement for overseas Mara hostels worth RM2 billion ringgit... it has hit us very badly," he said.

'She cancelled my business projects'

Asked if this falling out had anything to do with Balasubramaniam's refusal to keep silent after the RM5 million promised to him to withdraw his accusation linking Najib to Altantuya was not fulfilled, as only RM750,000 was paid, he said it was not he who had promised the amount.

"All promises were not made by me, Bala met the member of the family hence the commitment should be fulfilled by those who promised," he said.

However, queried if "the family" had made him pay Balasubramaniam instead, Deepak refused to comment, stating that he was sorting out his own protection.

He said that his home, office and factory were also raided and documents concerning his business dealings with the powers that be were also confiscated after the falling out.

The raids, he said, happened in 2010 and 2011 after he called a press conference responding to whistleblower Raja Petra Kamaruddin's accusations of his links with Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor.


Deepak today alluded to a female figure who had instructed all his projects to be cancelled after the falling out.

"We (Deepak and his businesses) are looking at the possibility... to take action against the authorities (for cancelling the projects).

"But we are looking more at a scenario where the involvement of a particular person who has the authority - even though not in the government - to give such instructions to her family members to terminate the contracts. We want to claim damages from this person," he said.

Asked if he was referring the Rosmah, he replied: "I will not comment today".

Leaving the country

Deepak further said once he settles his personal affairs in the nearest time, he intends to depart the country on Dec 11, for Myanmar and will only return on March 11, next year.

"I am not doing this because I fear anyone, but I think there is no purpose being here as my shareholders have all revolted, they refuse to accept the platform I have taken, they say my credibility is lost and my respect in the business world is diminished.

"I have resigned and if I reside here, I have nothing to do. I have no wife here, if I do business elsewhere maybe I can find Myanmar girl," he said.

However, he said even though he no longer has any directorship, he remains a shareholder in the companies and will work to protect his interests, including in the ongoing land dispute case.- malaysiakini

Ahli perniagaan Deepak Jaikishan mendakwa bahawa beliau membayar keluarga Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak sejumlah yang tidak didedahkan untuk campurtangan perdana menteri bagi membolehkannya menjadi satu pihak dalam satu perjanjian projek Kementerian Pertahanan.

Menurut Deepak, dia memeterai satu perjanjian dengan syarikat milik seorang pemimpin Umno Selangor di mana beliau menjadi pihak ketiga dalam projek tersebut.

Ini bermula, jelas Deepak, dengan satu perjanjian penswastaan pada tahun 2005 di mana syarikat itu telah ditugaskan untuk mengendalikan satu projek Kementerian Pertahanan di Putrajaya.

Sebagai pertukaran bagi projek yang dianggar bernilai RM100 juta itu, yang akan dibina oleh syarikat itu dengan pembiayaannya sendiri, syarikat tersebut akan dibayar RM20 juta oleh kerajaan dan akan memperolehi 223.3 ekar tanah kerajaan di Klang.

Bagaimanapun, Deepak berkata, ahli politik berkenaan tidak mempunyai kepercayaan kredit pada masa itu untuk mendapatkan bon tanah RM72.5 juta yang diperlukan bagi projek tersebut dan oleh itu, telah menemuinya untuk mendapatkan bantuan.

Perjanjian itu, katanya, akan memerlukan beliau mendapatkan bon tanah RM72.5 juta dan ditambah RM23 juta dalam bayaran tunai kepada syarikat tersebut.

Sebagai balasan, kata Deepak, syarikat ahli politik tersebut akan memberinya pemilikan hartanah berkenaan, yang merupakan sekeping tanah prima bersebelahan dengan bandar Alam Setia yang kini pesat berkembang.

Nama ahli politik dan syarikat terlibat dirahsiakan sementara menunggu jawapan mereka kepada permintaan Malaysiakini bagi mendapat komen.

"Beliau gagal untuk mendapatkan kerajaan bersetuju bon tanah dikeluarkan kepada pihak ketiga kerana di bawah penswastaan, syarikat yang mendapat (projek) penswastaan, tanah mesti kekal di bawah nama mereka.

"Jadi, saya menganjurkan satu mesyuarat untuk beliau bertemu (Najib), yang pada masa itu adalah menteri pertahanan kita, untuk membenarkan tanah ini dipindahkan kepada syarikat pihak ketiga," katanya.

Deepak berkata pemindahan itu dapat dilakukan selepas beliau "menyumbang banyak" kepada keluarga Najib.

Deepak says he paid Najib's family for land deal...

Businessperson Deepak Jaikishan claimed that he paid the family of Najib Abdul Razak an undisclosed sum for the premier's intervention to allow him to come in as a party in a Defence Ministry project deal.

According to Deepak, he stitched a deal with a Selangor Umno leader's company where he would participate as a third party in the proposed project.

This began, Deepak explained, with a privatisation agreement in 2005 where the company was tasked to work on a Defence Ministry project in Putrajaya.

In exchange for the estimated RM100 million project, which the company was to build at its own cost, the company would be paid RM20 million by the government and would acquire 223.3 acres of government land in Klang.

However, Deepak said the politician did not have the credit-worthiness at that time to secure a land bond of RM72.5 million necessary for the project and had therefore approached him for help.

The deal, he added, would require him to secure the RM72.5 million land bond and top it up with RM23 million in cash payments to the company.

In return, Deepak said the politician's company was to give him ownership of the said property, which is a piece of prime land adjacent to the now booming Setia Alam township.

The names of the politician and the company involved have been withheld pending their reply to Malaysiakini's request for comments.

"She couldn't get the government to agree that the land bond be issued to a third party because under privatisation, the company that gets the privatisation (project), the land must remain under their name.

"So, I organised a meeting for her to meet (Najib), at that time our defence minister, to allow this land be transferred to a third party company," he said.

Deepak said the transfer was made possible after he "contributed heavily" to Najib's family.

Below is the excerpt of Malaysiakini’s interview with Deepak:

Malaysiakini: You mentioned earlier that there were bribes involved in this project?

Deepak: Okay, I think as far as the dealings with the politician were concerned, it was a business deal. But yes, as I mentioned - I wouldn't use that word that you used just now - but we had to contribute heavily to ensure that we get the approval from the defence minister at that time.

Contribute to whom?

A close family of his (Najib) lah. I will elaborate at later sessions.

Why the deal?

We couldn't procure the land to be given to a third party otherwise.

It happened around 2007?

Correct.

Can you disclose how much?

Not (at) this session.

Was a substantial amount of money involved?

Yes.

How big is the amount?

Maybe we go to the next question.

For clarity, this "contribution" is with regard to the meeting that you mentioned just now, set up between the politician and the then defence minister?

Correct.

The contribution is in terms of money and not material?

Financial.

Najib expressed 'no opposition'
 
Deepak noted that "a third-party scenario should not happen in normal circumstances", but was only made possible with Najib's help.

He claimed that he possessed the minutes of the meeting in which Najib expressed "no opposition" in approving the third-party land transfer.

The revelation comes following a land dispute in which Deepak's company had not received the promised land from the politician, despite, he said, having kept up his end of the bargain.

"He (Najib) is well aware (of this dispute) but I don't see any action coming out. I don't see him carrying the responsibility of solving this matter," he said.

Deepak has filed a legal suit in the Kuala Lumpur High Court and a police report on the matter was lodged in July.

Dirtiest politics....can only happen to the biggest party of 1Malaysia. We have seen so many and Datuk Seri Anwar was one of the victim in the same situation. They find either you are weak or too strong they will destroy you at all costs.
 
rakyat - Deepak, u better start watching over your shoulders, man. Many C4s lying around. You could be the next Altantuya, k. What happened, man? Why say all now? Where were you when Bala's second SD appeared? You could have shed so much light onto what was really happening. Baginda is out of jail, Altantuya dead, Bala in hiding, Najib is PM, Rosmah is happy...you could have altered all these if only you had opened your mouth then.
