Koordinator NGO Jingga 13, Fariz Musa mempersoalkan bagaimana Robengah, yang bekerja selama 8 tahun di kediaman Rais mampu membina rumah mewah di Banjanegara, Indonesia.
Sedangkan, katanya, gaji Robengah hanya sekitar RM300 sebulan, sebelum dinaikkan RM500 selepas beberapa tahun.
The 314,598,000 rupiah house that Robengah build...
Former maid of Malaysian Minister of Information, Communication and culture, Datuk Seri Rais Yatim is alleged to be having a luxury life by building a luxury home at Banjanegara which is estimated to be worth more than RM100,000 = 314,598,000 rupiah in her native country, Indonesia.
According to Fariz of Jingga 13, it is absurd or unbelievable if Robengah never sent any money to her family in Indonesia during the 8 years she worked for Rais Yatim as a maid BUT all of a sudden she could afford to build such a big house, while her neighbours had claimed that Robengah family previously were very poor.
It was further revealed that Robengah was earning RM300 per month and it was later raised to RM500 after a few year's of working for Rais Yatim.
Robengah's husband Sukiman is claimed to be paralysed and unable to work while they have two school-going children named Monica and Tina.
Robengah previously claimed that she was raped by her employer in Malaysia, as the NGO Migrant Care report on July 23, 2007. Nevertheless, she later refuted it in a signed letter dated January 7, 2011, saying she did not face any problems while working in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Fariz claims, the letter came after four years after the case occurred, indirectly 'saving' Rais of guilt.
"Is there an element of corruption until Robengah was offered "money" to withdraw her claim that she was RAPED by her employer in Malaysia?"
"So we urge Rais Yatim to explain honestly and responsibly on how this "poor" Robengah could afford this luxury home ," he said.
Meanwhile, Jingga 13 had presented a memorandum on this matter to the Ministry of Information, Communication and culture in Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur at 2.30 this afternoon to seek explanation on who had financed the construction of this luxury home. -KD
