Raunchy show at police headquarters Shah Alam...

It looks like political parties are not the only ones in Malaysia who would exploit the female body.

A performance by several scantily clad female dancers during a police dinner (pic) in honour of retirees and low-level officers last Friday has recently caught the attention of several blogs and Facebook pages, prompting a plea of ignorance by the police.

In a statement to the media, Shah Alam police claimed that organisers themselves had been caught by surprise by the raunchy performance and said it was not included during the 'rehearsal'.

"It is a closed-door event and was attended by officers and staff members of the Shah Alam criminal investigation department only," said district police chief Zahedi Ayob.

He added that the Shah Alam criminal investigation department has complained to the hotel's management.

"Let me stress that since its inception, PDRM has never organised this kind of events because it is against PDRM's core culture as well as Islam," said Zahedi.

Recently, Chinese-only party MCA sounded alarm against 'Islamisation' and defended such raunchy performances after DAP Youth chief Anthony Loke said suggested that the party did not need to boost attendance to its events using such shows.

For the comments, MCA central committee member slammed Loke for being a "PAS apologist" and accused DAP of playing the role of 'moral police'.-harakahdaily
