Lihatlah 'dalangnya' begitu gembira tersengih....
PAS bukan macam Umno yang tidak mempunyai maruah pernah menggunakan 3 Adun lompat untuk merampas kerajaan Perak pada 2009. PAS tidak berhasrat menubuhkan kerajaan dalam situasi kemelut politik seperti yang sedang berlaku di Terengganu. PAS menghormati keputusan yang rakyat dalam PRU13 yang lalu.
Oleh itu,PAS mahu DUN Terengganu dibubarkan dan mengadakan pilihan raya semula di negeri itu. Ini membolehkan rakyat Terengganu membuat penilaian dan memberi mandat kepada kerajaan baru yang sekali gus menyelesaikan krisis politik di negeri itu.
Ini membuktikan PAS sebagai parti politik berprinsip, tanggungjawab dan perjuangan yang bersih dan tulen. Umno dan Barisan Nasional terlalu kotor kerana merampas kerajaan pilihan rakyat di Perak dahulu. Barisan Nasional ketika itu tidak bersetuju untuk membubarkan DUN kerana begitu ghairah menubuhkan kerajaan walaupun tindakan itu tidak bermoral dan dibantah oleh rakyat Perak.
Akhirnya Barisan Nasional menubuhkan kerajaan di Perak dengan sokongan Adun lompat itu. Perlembagaan dan prinsip demokrasi dicabuli dan dicemari oleh Barisan Nasional Perak semata-mata untuk menubuhkan kerajaan di Perak.
Pada hari ini, perkara sama berlaku di Terengganu. Dua Adun Umno keluar parti dan menjadi Adun bebas. Pada ketika itu, Barisan Nasional hanya mempunyai 14 kerusi berbanding Pakatan Rakyat yang memiliki 15 kerusi di DUN Terengganu. Dalam keadaan itu, Pakatan Rakyat melebihi Barisan Nasional dengan majoriti 1 kerusi.
Pada prinsipnya kerajaan Barisan Nasional tumbang di Terengganu. PAS dan PKR yang memiliki 15 kerusi di DUN Terengganu boleh menubuhkan kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat di Terengganu. Tetapi, Pakatan mengambil keputusan tidak menuntut menubuhkan kerajaan dengan keadaan yang sebegitu rupa.
Pakatan Rakyat mengambil pendirian memohon pembubaran DUN dan mengadakan pilihan raya untuk keseluruhan DUN Terengganu.Ini adalah berasaskan prinsip demokrasi berparlimen yang disanjung tinggi oleh Pakatan Rakyat.
Barisan Nasional tidak boleh memberi alasan apa yang berlaku di Terengganu berbeza dengan kejadian di Perak pada 2009. Hakikatnya, kedua-dua negeri mengalami situasi sama iatu krisis perlembagaan apabila ada Adun kerajaan keluar daripada parti.
Bagi kedua-dua negeri itu, 3 Adun keluar parti dan menjadi Adun bebas. Ini menyebabkan majoriti di DUN beralih kepada pembangkang. Situasi di Perak lebih buruk kerana terdapat surat perletakan jawatan Adun ditandatangani oleh mereka yang keluar parti.
Barisan Nasional cuba menipu rakyat lagi dengan mengatakan senario di Perak dan Terengganu berbeza. Sebenarnya tidak ada apa-apa yang berbeza seperti yang didakwa oleh Umno dan Barisan Nasional.

Why is PAS not wooing Umno turncoats in Terengganu?
BN is the ruling federal coalition, under fire by some due to escalating living costs and a weak leadership, while Pakatan is slammed for its lack of cohesiveness over the “hudud” laws.
It is therefore no wonder that the two state assemblymen, including former menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said chose to be independents instead of sticking with BN or joining Pakatan.
Both political groups are currently “troubled” entities, contributing to the depressing state of affairs in the country, which is reeling from the loss of a jumbo jet amid a sluggish economy.
The east coast state is famed for its offshore oil, turtle hatchings and Pulau Perhentian.
But unlike the turtles that crawl at a snail-like pace to hatch, the political sandiwara (stage acting) has been launched and is developing at F1 speed in the state.
“It is as fluid as it can be. Negotiations and discussions are intense. We are hopeful of a win-win status. We know PAS and the palace are watching intently,” a BN insider told theantdaily.
By the time this piece made it to print, there might be more changes which would either resolve the political crisis or worsen the uncertainty surrounding the BN state government.
Ahmad’s resignation from Umno was immediately followed by similar announcements by Ajil state assemblyman Ghazali Taib and Bukit Besi assemblyman Roslee Daud. Umno subsequently said that Roslee has retracted his resignation.
The political strengths of the two opposing sides could not have been more evenly matched as even at the parliamentary level it is a tie -- BN and Pakatan have four seats each.
This has compelled Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof to suggest that the number of electoral seats should be odd instead of even in the state.
One thing is clear though – BN may lose Terengganu if it holds a fresh state election, and if it persists in governing without a majority, a constitutional crisis and the consequent legal battles look inevitable.
PAS is in a position to seize control of the state it lost in 2004, mainly because BN is split right down the middle, and the mostly rural voters there are also affected by the rising living costs.
It is an open secret that Ahmad does not get along with Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, his predecessor as mentri besar, and the latter is said to be a confidant of the prime minister.
Therefore, BN will try to avoid a state election at all costs, especially since a PAS-led Terengganu state government could mean a legal wrangle over the rights to the state oil royalty.
Not to mention the fact that BN namely Umno may lose a chunk of its rural voting base.
Kelantan is said to be more vibrant than Terengganu. The only consolation is Terengganu out-produces its neighbour in fish crackers (kerepok lekor).
But make no mistake. Terengganu has many similarities with Kelantan as both states are home to iconic PAS leaders.
Kelantan has its spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat, while Terengganu is home to party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and its secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali.
It is somewhat of a mystery why PAS is not moving forcefully to woo the rogue assemblymen.
Instead, the Islamist party prefers to have fresh state elections.
It has come across as a noble stance for many had expected PAS to entice the assemblymen instead of having to campaign all over again for the votes.
PAS is not interested in enticing the independents in order to form a new state government, according to new state PAS commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat.
Instead, Satiful Bahri, the Paka assemblyman, said PAS prefers fresh polls.
With the 2009 Perak power grab by BN as a backdrop, observers thought PAS would seize the opportunity in Terengganu to give BN a taste of its own medicine.
But PAS appears to be more principled and has kicked the ball back into the BN court.
There is no question mark over Ahmad’s antics but the bigger question is why PAS chose to be passive when presented with a chance to win back the state.- theantdaily
Pakatan should have been made caretaker gov't...
That would be the right thing to do, Aziz said, when it became clear that newly-appointed Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman had lost the confidence of the House with the spate of resignations from Umno yesterday.
“The
sultan, instead of sacking the MB who refused to resign, chose not to
do anything. Unlike in Perak, where the palace chose to act in a way
that favoured Umno and BN.“In Terengganu, the government that has lost the majority was allowed time to continue and the coalition with the majority, Pakatan Rakyat, which has 15 seats, was not appointed in its place.
“The sultan could have appointed Pakatan and asked it to call for the dissolution of the state assembly. While waiting for the state elections to be held, Pakatan can continue as caretaker government,” Aziz said.
The former International Islamic University law professor said the option to appoint Pakatan as the caretaker government for Terengganu would be more constitutional and democratic.
“It will put the coalition that has the necessary conditions (narrow majority) to be in power and at the same time, allow the Terengganu people to have their say.”
Aziz admitted that although one Umno lawmaker had returned to the party, he wondered whether it may have been done through corrupt means and if so, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission should step in.
Instead, he said, it was clear the way the situation in Terengganu was moving, “the system” has given time and space for Umno and BN to work out ways to continue with their survival.
Yesterday,
three state representatives, including former menteri besar Ahmad Said,
Ajil assemblyperson Ghazali Taib and Bukit Besi representative Roslee
Daud (left) resigned as Umno members and declared they would be Independents in the state assembly.However, Roslee was reported to have retracted his resignation and is in Putrajaya, along with the other Terengganu Umno assemblypersons, to meet with Najib. Word is that Ghazali has also withdrawn his letter of resignation from Umno, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Umno legal adviser Mohd Hafarizam Harun said yesterday that Ahmad, Ghazali and Roslee are still considered to be BN representatives as both Umno and BN have yet to receive their resignation letters.
Legality of government can be challenged
Aziz said it was wrong for the sultan to wait for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Umno to do something, as it is akin to police allowing thieves to leave the house with all they looted, while the police stand watching.
“All the authorities, including the sultan, are allowing Umno to remain in office, knowing fully well that they do not have the right to be in office in the first place,” he said, adding it was also wrong for Ahmad Razif to claim the three were still Umno members.
“If that is the case, then the Perak 2009 coup d'etat would not have taken place! Legally the letter of undertaking between lawmakers and their party is only good for civil action between them. There is no value under the constitution and I dare say the Terengganu BN state government is illegal.”
“It is incumbent on the sultan to do something about it. Otherwise anybody with enough legal standing can go to court to compel the menteri besar to tender his resignation,” he warned.
Aziz also described the Terengganu legal adviser Azhar Abdul Hamid's view that the BN is still in power as nonsensical as the speaker cannot be added to the total seats in the assembnly, since he is a non-member and was appointed to the post.
“While the speaker may cast his or her vote during debate - including the passing of a Bill - this may not be done when it comes to the life-and-death of the sitting government,” he said.- mk
