Ikuti laporan The Mirror seperti berikut :
MH370 tak mendarat di pangkalan AS Diego Garcia...
“Kami melihat segala kemungkinan.
Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA), Sabtu lepas.
Berikutan pengesahan bahawa pesawat itu melakukan penerbangan patah balik, wujud spekulasi media asing bahawa pesawat itu mungkin dilencongkan ke Diego Gracia.

Where in the World Is Diego Garcia?
A British Territory, leased to the United States.
The Portuguese explored Diego Garcia in the 1500s (it is named for a Portuguese navigator). Between 1814 and 1965 it was a territory of Mauritius. It then became part of the Chagos Archipelago, which belonged to the newly created British Indian Ocean Territory.
In 1970, the island was leased to the United States, and developed as a joint U.S.-UK air and naval refueling and support station during the cold war. Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean and out of cyclone range, it was ideal for keeping an eye on the Soviet Union.
A Strategic Air Base
Diego Garcia proved to be critically important as a refueling base during the 1991 Persian Gulf War, and during Operation Desert Fox, it served as a base for B-52 bombers, which on Dec. 17, 1998, launched nearly 100 long-range cruise missiles aimed at Iraq.
Beginning on Oct. 7, 2001, the United States again used Diego Garcia when it launched B-2 and B-52 bombers attacks against Afghanistan. In the current British and American-led war against Iraq, Diego Garcia has once again played a crucial strategic role
Was Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Redirected to Diego Garcia?
Al-Qaeda informer tells of past M'sian hijack plot...
The revelation by an Al-Qaeda
informer that he had met Malaysian terrorists over plans to hijack a
plane has raised concerns on whether the plot is related to the loss of
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
The informer, British-born Saajid Muhammad Badat (right)
had made the claim in a New York court on Tuesday when testifying via
video link in the trial of Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, Osama Bin Laden's
son-in-law, according to a report by the UK's Sunday Telegraph.
When testifying, Saajid said four to five Malaysian men had been
planning to take control of a plane by using a bomb hidden in a shoe to
blow up the cockpit door.
He added that he had met the Malaysians, one of which is a pilot, in Afghanistan and given them a shoe bomb for that purpose.
According to the report, Saajid said during the trial the men had raised
a problem in their plan - that the cockpit door might be locked, to
which he told the court: "So I said, how about I give you one of my
bombs to open a cockpit door?"
He added that the Malaysian plot was being masterminded by one Khalid
Sheikh Mohammed, the principal architect of the September 11, 2001
attacks – involving the use of four commercial airplanes as weapons to
attack targets on US soil.
'Long time in planning'
The report did not state when the meeting took place but is believed to be before Saajid's arrest in 2003.
The UK newspaper also quoted security experts as saying that the information was "credible".
“These spectacular projects take a long time in the planning,” a British security source was quoted as saying.
The report indicated that a plane hijacking plan by Malaysian terrorists
were in the works but provided no evidence where it would take place or
whether it is related to Flight MH370.
MH370 which took off from Kuala Lumpur at 12.40am on March 7 and due to
arrive in Beijing at 6.30am, vanished from civilian radar at 1.21am.
Military radar later picked up the aircraft off the west coast of peninsula Malaysia heading towards the Andaman waters.
Not a trace of the plane has been found as the search and rescue operation entered the ninth day today.
2001 shoe bomb plot
Saajid was part of a plot to blow up a plane with a shoe bomb in 2001 but withdrew at the last minute.
However, his co-conspirator Richard Reid (right) went ahead
with the failed plan on American Airlines Flight 63 bound from Paris to
Florida and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Saajid was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2003 after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to destroy a US-bound aircraft.
He had since assisted US and UK authorities in their investigation
against Islamist terrorists and was released from prison early in 2010. - malaysiakini
Hisham: No demands were made...
There have been no demands made
with regards to the missing flight MH370, making it difficult for
authorities to ascertain what had transpired, said acting Transport
Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
"That makes it very difficult for us to verify whether it is a hijacking or terrorist act.
"That is why when inspector-general of police mentioned about the four
areas that we are focusing, all possibilities are not being taken for
granted at all," he said at a press conference today when asked.
The four areas of investigation are: hijacking, sabotage, psychological
problems of the passengers and the crew, and personal problems among the
passengers and the crew.
Satellite experts flown in
While investigators were able to determine that the Boeing 777-200ER had
flown on for hours after it disappeared from civilian radar,
Hishammuddin said the two vast "corridors" that now needs to be searched
presented new challenges.
These corridors cross the borders of 11 countries, as well and the deep waters of the Indian Ocean.
"Though in a way it gives some certainty to where we are looking at, but
the areas concerned are massive. That requires a coordinated effort of
many nations and that we have been doing yesterday," he said.
Thus far, Malaysia is coordinating a multinational search and rescue
(SAR) team of 25 countries, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have
briefed representatives from 22 countries as of 2pm today.
These include Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan,
Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, China, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand,
Indonesia and Australia.
Inmarsat - the British satellite communications company that provided
data helping to confirm MH370’s last known location along the two
corridors - have also flown in a team yesterday to assist ongoing
investigations, Hishammuddin said.
They join an investigation team that
include the US Federal Aviation Authority and National Transport Safety
Board, UK Air Accident Investigation Branch, aircraft manufacturer
Boeing, and aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce.
Ask about airspace problems later
Ask about airspace problems later
Both the northern and southern corridors are treated as equally
important, he added, while the assets required and deployments for a
renewed SAR effort is being determined.
To a question whether airport and airspace security had been breached,
Hishammuddin said all standard operating procedures have been complied
with, and the air force have already denied a security breach.
However, new information will be verified and looked into after the MH370 crisis is over.
"This is an unprecedented case. What we are going through here, ladies
and gentleman, is being monitored across the world and it may change
aviation history.
"I think there are lessons to be learnt by everybody," he said.
Air force chief Rodzali Daud had previously said that no fighters were
scrambled to meet the then-identified aircraft because the radar
operator concluded that an "unidentified plot", now confirmed to be
MH370, was not a hostile.- malaysiakini
