Wang bukan untuk beli segalanya, termasuk undi dan laungan “tidak” untuk BN...
Walaupun duit bukan masalah besar kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak dan UMNO/Barisan Nasional (BN), namun jelas ia tidak dapat membeli segalanya, termasuk cinta, kesetiaan, patriotisme dan undi pada Pilihan Raya Umum ke-13 (PRU-13) nanti.
Ketua Parlimen DAP, Lim Kit Siang, berkata duit ditabur Najib dan
UMNO/BN seperti air mengalir sepanjang bulan lalu, termasuk jutaan
ringgit dibelanjakan untuk mengadakan persembahan Gangnam Style Psy di
Pulau Pinang, tetapi gagal mengembalikan kebersihan tapak Sekolah Han
Chiang yang musnah selepas 48 jam majlis Rumah Terbuka Tahun Baru Cina
Najib itu.“Ketika saya melintas, tapak Sekolah Han Chiang itu pagi semalam dipenuhi timbunan sampah selepas 48 jam persembahan Gangnam Style Psy yang diterbangkan terus dari Brazil ke Pulau Pinang, tetapi penganjur gagal mengembalikan kebersihan tapak sekolah itu.
“Ini adalah pengajaran yang mahal buat Najib dan UMNO/BN bahawa terdapat benda yang tidak boleh dibeli dengan wang, termasuk undi.
“Pada majlis Tahun Baru Cina itu, Najib diaibkan dengan video satu minit berterusan tersebar dan ditonton ramai rakyat Malaysia yang tidak dapat dilupakan apabila tiga kali laungan “Yes” ketika ditanya “Are you ready for Psy?” diikuti tiga laungan “No” ketika ditanya: “Are you ready for BN?”, katanya dalam kenyataan media Pengiraan Detik 57 Hari ke PRU-13, semalam.
Kit Siang yang juga Ahli Parlimen Ipoh Timur berkata, beliau akui masih belum menonton iklan Tahun Baru Cina di mana Najib berlakon sebagai pemain gendang tarian singa walaupun iklan itu sudah disiarkan selama lima hari.
Katanya, hanya selepas membaca artikel Kee Thuan Chye di Malaysiakini bertajuk “The PM is Demeaning Himself” baru beliau mencarinya di YouTube untuk melihat sendiri sama ada komen Kee itu mempunyai asasnya, dan Kee tepat pada sasaran.
“Saya juga menyemak kesahihan kritikan mengenai tulisan salah perkataan Cina “吉” (sebagaimana Najib menggunakan Ah Jib Gor sebagai nama Cinanya) dengan garisan horizontal di atas lebih pendek berbanding yang di bawah yang bermakna kecelakaan untuk Ah Jib Gor.
“Sebenarnya, klip video kedua malapetaka “Gangnam Style Psy” Tahun Baru Cina Najib di Pulau Pinang sedang tersebar luas, video tujuh minit yang memaparkan detik memalukan Najib dan mantan Perdana Menteri, Tun Abdullah terkandas di atas pentas menanti bintang Korea Selatan itu menyertai mereka menggaul Yee San, tetapi terpaksa meninggalkan pentas apabila Psy menolak menyertai Najib di dalam acara Yee San itu,” katanya.
Menurut beliau, Najib telah twit mengatakan persembahan Psy dan rombongan Gangnam Style yang menelan belanja RM3.5 juta itu tidak membabitkan duit rakyat.
Katanya, terdapat dua pengajaran untuk Najib dan tukang putar politiknya iaitu pertama , mereka tidak sepatutnya begitu naif menganggap rakyat Malaysia begitu mudah ditipu bahawa penampilan Psy di Pulau Pinang, diterbangkan terus selama 20 jam dari Brazil akhirnya tidak akan dibayar oleh pembayar cukai Malaysia dalam apa jua bentuk sebab itu kemunculan penaja disembunyi dan identiti sebenar dirahsiakan.
Kedua, katanya, terdapat perkara yang tidak boleh dibeli dengan wang iaitu tiga laungan “Tidak” untuk soalan Najib sama ada mereka bersedia untuk BN, atau lebih penting, undi pada PRU-13 nanti untuk menentukan berlaku perubahan sepanjang 55 tahun Kerajaan Persekutuan daripada BN kepada Pakatan Rakyat di Putrajaya. – Roketkini.com
Was Penang ready for Psy or was Psy used to
attract votes for BN...
The prime minister should realise that he cannot horse around with the wishes and aspirations of Malaysians anymore. “We must win back Penang at whatever the cost.” So went the Barisan Nasional’s plan to win the hearts and minds of Penangites during the Chinese New Year open house celebrations.
Some smart aleck in BN or the Prime Minister’s Office would have said at a high-powered meeting: “Yes. The only way to win the minds of voters is get Psy and his horse-riding song to rock Penang.”
But the big question is: Was Penang ready for Psy or was Psy used to attract votes for BN? The writing was already on the wall when there were protests not to bring the K-pop star.
So, BN did not listen! listen! listen! and the famous quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the US, seems an appropriate epithet:
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”
Now, it’s too late as the Psy show has backfired on BN’s plans. It was a major public relations disaster as the Penang crowd refused to be fooled by the millions paid to engage Psy.
When Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak asked the crowd before the start of the show: “Are you ready for Psy?” the crowd responded with a vociferous: “Yes!”
Quickly switching gears, Najib then asked not once but three times: “Are you ready for BN?” “No!” the crowd shouted back.
BN must recognise that throwing money at all its events at the expense of the taxpayers is a big “No!” BN must not horse around with sentiments, emotions and feelings of Malaysians.
Boos and jeers
It was clear that the multi-million-ringgit show in Penang on Monday was a blunder. It was not the first event where the crowd had not been receptive to BN’s offers and overtures.
Psy’s performance was delayed for almost an hour. The event organisers were restless trying to ride on the wave of Psy’s worldwide popular song.
It was like waiting for the food at a dinner and speakers keep on dragging the time with their long-winded speeches.
Najib, his wife Rosmah Mansor and state BN leaders like Teng Chang Yeow showed up on stage to placate the crowd but were least interested.
Later came Najib’s son’s speech to demonstrate his Chinese-speaking skills to engage the audience. This failed miserably again as there was muted response from the crowd.
When Najib shouted “Satu!”, many of the local Umno Youth members shouted, “Malaysia.” He repeated it thrice, and it was followed by silence.
Rosmah got boos and jeers when she came on stage to sing Chinese new year songs. There were also attempts to have Psy and BN leaders on stage together.
But Psy refused to appear on stage with BN leaders. After a few minutes, all the BN leaders were asked to leave the stage to make way for his performance of his mega hit.
Soon after the show by Psy, people started leaving the venue. There was no way to call the crowd back. If anyone did, it would have been another public relations disaster.
