Sahkan Taib Mahmud bebas skandal penyelewengan sebelum lantik jadi TYT...

PKR menggesa Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) mengesahkan Ketua Menteri Sarawak, Tan Sri Taib Mahmud bebas daripada semua kaitan penyelewengan sebelum menjadi Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT) Sarawak.

Don't appoint Taib as Yang di-Pertua until cleared by MACC...

Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to clear investigations pending against outgoing Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud before he become the next state governor.

Rafizi claimed Taib wanted to become the governor to get better protection and immunity from the law against his pending cases.

“I will lodge a complaint against Taib at the MACC office in Putrajaya at 3pm tomorrow,” he said at a press conference the PKR headquarters today.

He added that according to Sarawak Report news portal yesterday, new evidence had surfaced against Taib and his family involving timber concession.

The scandal involved RM32 million paid over the last seven years by Japanese timber exporters from Sarawak to a Hong Kong firm, Regent Star Company Limited.

At the time, Taib had declared in the Sarawak state assembly that he had no knowledge or connection with Regent Star, which was controlled by his brother, Onn Mahmud.

However, Swiss NGO Bruno Manser Fund had documents to show a clear connection between Taib’s wife and the company, involving the transfer of funds from Hong Kong to his daughter Jamilah’s private property business in Ottawa, Sakto Corporation.

MONEY TRAIL – New Document Links Taib To Japanese Timber Scandal!

The documents relate to a US$20 million mortgage loan by Jamilah to Sakto. The money is described as being “held in trust” by her and owing to “persons who with the consent of Jamilah H Taib lend money to Sakto”.

Jamilah’s husband Sean Murray, a director and secretary of Sakto, is the recipient of the loan and the persons named as having lent the money are Taib’s then wife, Laila Taib; her two sons Abu Bekir and Suleman; their company Sogo; Onn Mahmud and Richfold Investment Limited, which was a sister company of Regent Star, incorporated on the same day at the same address with the same directors.

The document, which is available on public record in Ontario, Canada, makes a clear link with Regent Star, which was receiving millions from the Japanese shipping cartel to “broker” export licences issued by Onn Mahmud and Taib’s family investments in Canada.

The report said Richfold, controlled by Onn Mahmud, had transferred US$20 million to Sakto.

Even Regent Star was once investigated by the Japanese Inland Revenue for evading taxes amounting one billion yen.

“With all these new evidences unfolding, I urge the MACC to conduct a transparent investigation into Taib and his family for corrupt practices and abuse of power.

I also urge Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to name a candidate for the governor post who has gone through MACC scrutiny,” Rafizi said at a press conference the PKR headquarters today.

Yesterday, Taib announced that he will step down as chief minister on Feb 28 and would be succeeded by Special Functions Minister Adenan Satem.-fmt
