1. IBRAHIM BIN ALI - BEBAS
2. NIK MOHAMAD ABDUH BIN NIK ABDUL AZIZ - PAS
BN makes way for Ibrahim Ali as candidate...
Speculation that UMNO's right wing ally Ibrahim Ali's bid for Pasir Mas parliamentary seat will not be hindered by BN has turned out to be true after all.
At the nomination centre today, Ibrahim became the other top Perkasa leader, besides its vice president Zulkifli Nordin, to be fielded under the BN auspices at the upcoming polls.
The BN candidate Che Johan Che Pa made the unprecedented move of not submitting his nomination papers, a first in BN's electoral history.
With Johan's withdrawal, the BN machinery in Pasir Mas will now be mobilised to campaign for Ibrahim, one of the coalition's strongest allies, against PAS's Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, the son of Kelantan's revered leader Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Ibrahim and Zulkifli have earned condemnations from both Muslims and non-Muslims over a spate of inflationary remarks, Zulkifli for mocking Hindu deities - an act clearly prohibited by the Qur'an - and Ibrahim for organising a Bible-burning protest.
Earlier, Harakahdaily cited a mobile text message making rounds in Kelantan claiming that Ibrahim's absence in BN's candidates list announced this week was just a gimmick.
According to the SMS, Ibrahim would eventually make it as a candidate in a one-to-one battle.
“BN supporters will be asked to rally behind Ibrahim Ali. That is UMNO’s plan," said the message.
Among others, the nomination of Ibrahim and Zulkifli is seen as a deliberate ploy by BN chairman Najib Razak to derail even cosmetic attempts at fulfilling his pledge to Hindraf leader P Waythamoorthy. Waytha had called on Indian voters to give BN the two-third majority after Najib signed his group's blueprint for the community.-harakahdaily
More to it in BN's dumping of Ibrahim Ali?
cheers.
