Pelajar tunjuk punggung belum didakwa...

Pelajar yang ditahan polis semalam kerana didakwa menunjukkan punggung pada gambar perdana menteri dan isteri minggu lalu masih belum didakwa di mahkamah.

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur Ku Chin Wah berkata, sama ada pendakwaan akan dibuat atau tidak bergantung kepada siasatan lanjut dan bukti yang terkumpul.

Pelajar kolej itu ditahan semalam dan dibebaskan malam tadi dengan jaminan selepas percakapannya dirakam.

Setakat ini, kata Ku, sebanyak 172 laporan polis dibuat berhubung perkara itu dan siasatan masih berlangsung.

Beliau juga menggesa orang ramai membantu mengenalpasti sepuluh lagi individu yang dipercayai memijak gambar perdana menteri dan isteri selepas insiden menunjukkan punggung itu.- malaysiakini

 

 Cops: No charges yet against man who flashed butt...

No charge has yet been brought against the college student arrested by police yesterday for allegedly flashing his bare butt over pictures of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife during the  Merdeka Eve celebrations.

“Whether or not he will be charged will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigations, on the evidence gathered and the laws concerned,” Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Ku said the suspect, aged 19, was arrested yesterday and was released on bail late last night after having his statement recorded.

The third-year student from Batu Pahat, Johor, was arrested at noon yesterday at a college in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, after police identified him based on statements from witnesses who came forward.

Thus far, Ku said, 172 police reports have been lodged over the matter and investigations are in progress.

He called on members of the public to assist in identifying 10 other individuals believed to have stepped upon the pictures of the PM and his wife after the student had allegedly bared his buttocks over them.

Ku said none of the 10 have came forward as yet, after police published their photos.

He said the police just want the 10 to come in and have their statements recorded, after which they would be released on bail.

“We want (to complete) the investigations and close the chapter,” Ku added.- malaysiakini
