Do we really need an intellectual discourse now..............

PAS's Youth wing has approached its Umno counterpart for an intellectual discourse to ease the political standoff between the two parties, even as the PAS-Umno unity talk issue was being put to rest. After meeting with Umno Youth deputy chief Datuk Razali Ibrahim at Parliament today, PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan said the discourse is meant to discuss current issues as well as the struggles of Muslims.

"It will be a new beginning for both parties and it is for the betterment of politics and Malaysians at large," Nasrudin told reporters.

He said it was a decision by the Youth wing to approach Umno Youth as it wanted to nurture a culture of solving issues through discussions.

"There is no issue that cannot be solved if we are serious and sincere as truth is all that matters and that we do not aim to put each other down through the discourse; we want to find the truth," he added.

On whether the wing is going against the party policy to reject cooperation with Umno, Nasarudin said he did not see anything wrong because they will only engage in a discourse.

Ketua Dewan Pemuda PAS, Nasrudin Hassan mengumumkan perkara itu dalam satu sidang akhbar bersama dengan Timbalan Ketua Pemuda Umno, Datuk Razali Ibrahim, di lobi Parlimen hari ini.

Nasrudin berkata, beliau menghantar surat jemputan kepada Razali untuk mengadakan wacana ilmiah berhubung isu 'benarkah perjuangan Umno tidak bercanggah dengan Syariat Islam'.

Tapi bukankah wacana sebegini bercanggah dengan pendirian yang dibuat oleh Pakatan Rakyat?

Aku rasa buat masa ini batal saja hasrat tersebut. Dah naik muak dengan sikap dan tingkahlaku PAS ini tak habis-habis nak bersemuka dengan penyamun-penyamun UMNO..............
