Mahathir Prophecy...

Mahathir Mohamad - Laugh
World’s Oldest PM-Elect
Defeated World’s Biggest Crook...

When the voters woke up on May 9th (Wednesday), they were on a mission. But they were shocked to find an extraordinary long queue awaiting them. Unlike the 13th general election in 2013, which was already a phenomenal, the queue to cast the votes this round was incredibly long. The writing was on the wall when huge number of Chinese and young Malays joined the queue.

However, the arrogant but clueless caretaker Prime Minister Najib Razak didn’t realize the troubling sign and what was about to hit him. His paid cybertroopers, propagandists and bloggers had continued painting a rosy picture, which he gladly took at face value as a sure win. In fact, Mr. Najib had repeatedly proclaimed he would win two-thirds majority.

The Election Commission had tried very hard to help Najib. Voters were furious because they were turned away at 5-p.m. The officials deliberately delay the voting process – some were made to wait for 6 hours. The Election Commission Chief Hashim Abdullah refused to extend the voting period and – arrogantly – told people to challenge his decision in court.

The commission had failed to help its boss Najib despite unleashing all kinds of dirty tricks. There were reports of blackout during votes counting, refusal of the commission officials to continue with votes counting when results showed Najib’s coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) was losing and suspicious unmarked cars caught transporting phantom votes to counting centres for the purpose of cheating.

But the biggest cheating was unveiled when the Malaysian Election Commission blatantly worked hand-in-glove with Najib’s BN to not only refused to sign Form-14, but also deliberately delayed the results announcement. On April 30th, more than a week before the polling date on May 9th, we had written how the commission could and would steal the election for Najib using precisely this trick (read here).

Like playing poker, Najib’s BN would normally showed results from the states of Sabah and Sarawak first. The conventional wisdom was such that a sexy win from both states means the “fixed deposits” were safe. Surprisingly, 5 traditional Sarawak safe seats belonging to BN were lost namely Saratok, Puncak Borneo, Selangau, Mas Gading and Julau.

Those losses were perhaps the first wake-up call for Mr. Najib. When the Election Commission refused to sign the Form 14 and announced the results for Sabah, that was when Najib realised his mistake of sacking one of the three vice-presidents of UMNO – Shafie Abdal – who formed “Warisan” party and stole the fixed deposit away.

For a period of time, the scoreboard kept showing BN winning 54 parliamentary seats. Amusingly, news from neighbouring Thailand had announced Najib’s Barisan Nasional won 54 seats while Mahathir’s Pakatan Harapan grabbed 111 seats. It appeared the Election Commission was in a state of panic and didn’t know how to proceed, hence the results were frozen.

Now, do you understand why Mahathir didn’t bother to campaign in Sabah and Sarawak? Two days before the polling day, we wrote another article explaining why the 93-year-old former prime minister was so calm and cool about the 14th general election, as if he knew his coalition Pakatan Rakyat is going to win no matter what.

Mahathir has created a new Guinness Record. Not only he will become the prime minister – twice – he will also become the oldest prime minister in the world. The present oldest prime minister was 81-year-old Morarji Ranchhodji Desai when he was appointed Prime Minister of India from 1977 to 1979. And Mahathir has just defeated the world’s biggest crook without a sweat.

How a 93-year-old Mahathir Mohamad did that – brilliantly architected a plan to boot a 64-year-old Najib Razak? We had written how Mahathir tricked Najib, a narcissist who was once his protégé. But really, the annihilation of Barisan Nasional after ruling for 60 years since the country’s independence, although is stunning, it was actually expected.

In actuality, not a single foreign media, let alone researcher, had given an ounce of probability that Pakatan Harapan could emerge victorious. From Singapore news media to AFP news media, everyone had expected Najib to win and maintain his power. At worst, he was expected to win the election but lose popular votes. At best, he was expected to win two-thirds majority.

The biggest problem with foreign polls or reports is they don’t understand the pulse on the ground. Therefore, the safest bet for them was to predict a Najib’s win. After all, how could you get it wrong when the same coalition had won the last 13 general elections for 60 years? Again, we had written about a hidden group of Malays who would turn Najib’s pink lips to blue (read here).

But who can blame the foreigners when even a local research expert such as Merdeka Center had basically declared Najib the winner of the 14th general election before even the contest begins? This group of silent Malays, as discussed, are the one who kept their cards close to their chest. They would give you a false perception because that’s their culture.

Unlike the West, this group of silent protesters would even smile if Mr. Najib greets them. The only way to find out their true feeling and intention is to get that information from third parties – stunningly – the Chinese businessmen such as grocers or hardware suppliers who have built great and trusted relationship with them over the years.

Clearly, these Malays trust their Chinese friends more than their Malay neighbours. That was why Najib had missed the quiet but deadly “Malay Tsunami” that has just swept his Barisan Nasional to oblivion. The noises and grumbles were there but his advisers and propagandists refused to engage but instead, ignored and insulted them.

At the eleventh hour of the polling day, Najib, in his desperate attempt to outdo Mahathir, offered monetary bribes to 26-years-old people in the form of zero income tax. It was an insult. How many Malays actually earn RM4,000 at the age of 26 years old? Najib also offered 2 days of holiday if he won the general election, clearly copied the incentive after declared by Mahathir.

Najib had done an excellent job in making the Chinese, the Indian and the Malay voters incredibly angry. From scandals such as 1MDB to bread and butter issue such as GST, he kept pressing the wrong buttons. The Chinese Tsunami remained even after the 2013 general election due to 1MDB. The Malay Tsunami – even Sabahan and Sarawakian Tsunami –  were started due to skyrocketing cost of living. I told you so, Najib!! - fft
