Its UMNO that many Malays are pissed off.................

The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, said today any move which questions the interests of the Malays and Bumiputeras in terms of scholarships and places of study not only violates the fundamental provisions in the federal and state constitutions but also questions the sovereignty of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers.

He said Clause 2 of Article 153 of the Federal Constitution provided the King with specific powers to safeguard the interests of the Malays as well as the Bumiputeras in Sabah and Sarawak in terms of scholarships and places of study.

He also said that Article 27 (b) (2) of the Perak State Constitution provided a similar responsibility to the Sultan of Perak.

"These matters enshrined in the Federal Constitution and the state constitution are agreements achieved collectively in the spirit of give and take and the spirit of understanding and respect among the leaders representing the interests of the various races at the time of negotiating the nation's independence.

"The agreements were achieved among the leaders of the various races, the British government and also the Malay Rulers," he said when opening a Discourse on Knowledge at the Perak Islamic Administration Institute, here. Also present was the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.

Sultan Azlan Shah said the leaders of the country had the political responsibility and statesmanship to respect the fundamentals which formed the pillar of sovereignty of an independent nation as well as the fundamentals which formed the root of harmonious racial relations, fundamentals which were agreed upon at the time the nation was formulating the Merdeka constitution.

Kita tak pernah sekali-kali pun mempertikaikan kuasa raja-raja, atau memperlekehkan institusi raja-raja Melayu. Apa yang kita pertikaikan ialah cara UMNO menipu orang-orang Melayu kononnya UMNO mempertahankan institusi raja-raja Melayu dan hak istemewa orang-orang Melayu.

UMNO adalah parti pertama di Malaysia yang secara terang menodai institusi raja-raja Melayu. Bukankah UMNO yang menyekat imuniti raja-raja Melayu? Bukankah UMNO yang menjelajah seluruh pelusok negara memburuk-burukkan institusi raja-raja Melayu? Semuanya dibuat semata-mata untuk mengukuhkan kedudukan UMNO serta pemimpin-pemimpinnya.

If we talk about the rights and interest of Malays in terms of scholarship and licences. Article 31 of the Reid Commissions states,

31. The Agong or the Rulers of the States should determine quotas of scholarships and licences for Malays. But no one should be deprived of whatever permits or licences in order to give to Bumiputras.

Apa yang kita pertikaikan kini ialah cara bagaimana biasiswa, lesen dan permit ini diberi kepada orang-orang Melayu. Hari ini,kuasa yang menentukan pemberian biasiswa,lesen dan permit adalah UMNO. Persoalannya adakah UMNO memberi layanan yang sama rata kepada semua orang Melayu yang layak menerima biasiswa,lesen dan permit ini? Who deprived of whatever permits or licences in order to give to Bumiputra ------ U.M.N.O!!!

Apa yang kita tuntut adalah keadilan, tetapi kalau pemberian biasiswa,lesen dan permit hanya diberi kepada orang-orang UMNO yang tertentu saja, mana letak keadilannya?

Ingat pasal pemberian lesen-lesen teksi? Bukankah kroni-kroni UMNO yang membolot hampir semua pemberian teksi.

Ingat pasal pemberian AP? Bukankah pemimpin UMNO serta kroni-kroni dan anak pinak mereka yang membolot 100% AP yang dikeluarkan? Projek dan tender kerajaan siapa yang balun habis-habisan, kalau bukan pemimpin UMNO dan kroni-kroninya.

Can UMNO deny that not even a child of any UMNO leaders has received government scholarships? I bet UMNO will be too shy to admit that........

Lihat saja di Terengganu bila PAS memerintah,UMNO boleh hentikan pembayaran wang royalti minyak yang menjadi hak kerajaan Terengganu, tidak kira siapa yang memerintah. Kalau benda yang wajib seperti pembayaran wang royalty minyak boleh dimanipulasikan oleh UMNO, apa pula dengan hal-hal lain. Kenapa wang ehsan itu hanya dibolot oleh segelintir pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO?

Sebahagian besar orang-orang Melayu telah ditipu oleh UMNO, konon-konon UMNO berjuang untuk orang-orang Melayu. Walhal, sebenarnya perjuangan UMNO adalah untuk mengayakan pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO, kroni-kroni dan sanak saudara mereka saja. Orang-orang Melayu lain dapat apa? Mungkin dapat rumah pangsa yang retak di sana sini sebelum penghuninya mendiaminya. Mendapat jalan raya yang berlubang-lubang tak sampai 3 bulan ianya disiap atau mungkin dapat stadium yang bumbungnya runtuh tak sampai setahun usianya.

To be fair, a constitutional monarch is supposed to be a symbol of unity and sovereignty of all Malaysians, not just the Malays or Bumiputra. As Malaysians we respect whats enshrined in the Reid Commission and the Constitution. We duly respect and never question the sovereignty of the Malay Rulers and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
