Did Najib and Rosmah meet Jho Low last week...

Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor allegedly held a private meeting with controversial tycoon Jho Low in Istanbul last week, reported Sarawak Report today.

It said that the meeting took place during a “stop-over on their way to Kazakhstan in their new private jet”.

“Since the couple are known to be very close friends of Low, perhaps he confided the details of his transactions to them?

“If so, several official bodies are hoping that the PM will make a public statement on the matter as soon as possible to the relevant authorities,” added Sarawak Report.

Najib and Rosmah flew to Kazakhstan last week to attend their daughter Nooryana Najwa's wedding reception.

Sarawak Report also said that insider information has indicated that perhaps Najib has been conducting his own private investigations into the finances of 1MDB.

Najib has been under tremendous pressure in recent weeks over the financial management of 1MBD which he founded and is the chairman of its board of advisors. His detractors are asking him to clarify Jho Low's role in 1MDB's investment losses.

Sarawak Report has run a series of exposés to show how money had been siphoned out of 1MDB and the active role played by Jho Low.

Yesterday Sarawak Report said that 1MDB had used fake bank statements to show that it had US$1.103 billion in BSI Bank in Singapore.

This was the money from the sovereign fund's off-shore investment in a ‘segregated portfolio fund’ in the Cayman Islands that was supposed to be brought back to Malaysia.

It also revealed that it was informed by separate sources in Singapore that there was in fact no actual cash in the relevant 1MDB BSI account.

Sarawak Report had first started looking at the siphoning of US$700 million out of a billion dollar investment by 1MDB development fund in 2009. The money initially passed into a Zurich bank account of a company named Good Star Limited, based in the Seychelles.

“We now have evidence, obtained from investigations by Singapore’s monetary authorities, showing that over USD$500 million was subsequently transferred from Good Star’s account at RBS Coutts in Zurich into one of the numerous accounts belonging to the controversial businessman Low Taek Jho (Jho Low) at BSI Bank in Singapore.” said Sarawak Report.

Little action taken

It added that the discovery raises critical questions, not least over the status of the USD$1.103 billion that 1MDB and the Finance Ministry claim is being held in a separate account at the same bank. This was money which was supposedly recovered from the original deal.

“After all, if so much of the money flowed out of that deal via Good Star to Jho Low, how has 1MDB managed to retrieve it all back with interest?” asked Sarawak Report.

It added that there was documented information that a total of at least US$860 million was paid from 1MDB into Good Star Limited’s RBH Coutts Zurich account between September 2009 and September 2010.

“There is also documented information that US$528,956.027 million was paid between June 2011 and September 2013 from the same Good Star Limited Zurich account into the BSI ADKMIC account in Singapore, of which Jho Low was the registered beneficial owner.

“Given this crucial evidence was provided by Singapore to Malaysia last month, there is growing concern over why so little official action appears to have been taken?”

Following the public outcry on the 1MDB investments and its reported RM42 billion debts, Najib had instructed the Auditor General to undertake a rigorous examination of 1MDB’s accounts and its relationship with Jho Low.

However to date, there have been no public outcome on the probe.

“By contrast, Sarawak Report has learnt that a senior figure at BSI Bank Singapore was suspended last month, in what appears to be a development linked to this investigation,” added Sarawak Report.- berita daily

– tmi

More than RM1.8 bil moved to Jho Low bank accounts at BSI Bank Ltd. in Singapore...

Good Star Limited, the firm of Low Taek Jho that allegedly siphoned off millions from 1Malaysia Development Berhad in 2009, was found to have transferred over US$500 million (RM1.8 billion) to one of the businessman’s bank accounts at BSI Bank Limited in Singapore from 2011 to 2012, said whistleblower site Sarawak Report.

Citing documents from the republic’s monetary authorities, it said the account was under the name of Abu Dhabi-Kuwait-Malaysia Investment Corporation (ADKMIC), of which Low, also known as Jho Low, was listed as the beneficial owner.

ADKMIC was the name of the company Low fronted in July 2008, which had previously engaged in the buy-up of a 53% shareholding in the Utama Banking Group (UBG), a company controlled by Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud's family, the report added.

"There is also documented information that US$528,956.027 was paid between June 2011 and September 2013 from the same Good Star Limited Zurich account into the ADKMIC account in Singapore, of which Low was the registered beneficial owner," said Sarawak Report.

Seven separate payments were made to Low's ADKMIC account, according to BSI records submitted to the Singapore authorities, it added.

ADKMIC eventually exited UBG when 1MDB's former joint-venture partner PetroSaudi International used US$260 million from its Murabaha loan to purchase UBG through its subsidiary, Jarvace Sdn Bhd, the website said.

It added‎ that the BSI Bank records showed that Low closed the ADKMIC account on February 18, 2014, just a fortnight after the final payment from Good Star Limited.

The US$700 million allegedly siphoned to Good Star was from 1MDB's now-ended joint venture with PetroSaudi International, which was orchestrated by Low.

Good Star Limited had also received an additional US$160 million from a Murabaha Loan agreement signed between PetroSaudi and 1MDB, which was also masterminded by Low, Sarawak Report said.

‎"There is documented information that a total of at least US$860 million was paid from 1MDB into Good Star Limited's RBH Coutts Zurich account between September 2009 and September 2010.

The website's latest exposé follows an earlier one that 1MDB had presented false bank statements to various authorities about the accounts of its subsidiary, Brazen Sky Limited, at the BSI branch in Singapore.

BSI Bank in Singapore is where Putrajaya has said a portion of the1MDB funds repatriated from Cayman Islands were being kept.

But Sarawak Report said separate sources in Singapore told it that "there is in fact no actual cash in the relevant 1MDB's BSI account, which was opened under the 1MDB subsidiary company, Brazen Sky Limited, merely 'paper assets' of indeterminate value."

As of January 31, 2015, BSI Singapore Bank reported 2‎6 active accounts beneficially owned by Low, containing a total of just under US$17.5 million, said Sarawak Report.

"The discovery raises critical questions, not least over the status of the US$1.103 billion that 1MDB and the Finance Ministry‎ are currently claiming to be in a separate account at the same bank – money which was supposedly recovered from the original deal.

"After all, if so much of the money flowed out of that deal via Good Star to Jho Low, how has 1MDB managed to retrieve it all back with interest?"

Sarawak Report said a senior figure at BSI Bank Singapore was suspended last month, apparently due to the investigation on 1MDB, and questioned the lack of reaction by the Malaysian side, despite Singapore's monetary authorities having already given the information to Malaysia.

The website also said it learnt that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor had met Low in Istanbul recently, during a stopover on their way to Kazakhstan. – tmi

Teh tarik pun kena GST 6%...

- Shahbudin Husin

Dr M urged to add GST to his list of grouses...

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been urged to step up his criticism of the Goods and Services Tax as a means of increasing public support for his crusade against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Political analyst Shahbudin Husin, in a blog article that laments the hardship brought on by the new tax, says the rakyat are probably hoping that the former prime minister would take up their cause with more vigour.

Mahathir has occasionally implied that there was a lack of wisdom in the decision to introduce the GST, but he has not made it one of the thrusts of his criticism of Najib’s administration

“We’re hearing complaints against the GST everywhere,” says Shahbudin. “Even Umno members and supporters have not shied from moaning over it. And for those who patronise certain restaurants, there’s the additional 10% service charge to pay. Add that to the 6% GST, and you’re paying 16% on top of your bill.”

Shahbudin highlights the case of the MP for Sepanggar, BN’s Jumat Idris, who said he understood the rakyat’s suffering after having to fork out RM1,200 in GST for a RM20,000 medical bill.

He also mentions complaints from traders about the drop in business since the GST was introduced because customers have become more careful with their spending.

He says many members of the public, in their anger over the GST, perceive it to be nothing more than a means for the ruling party to make money.

“As a result,” he adds, “more people are beginning to hate the Najib administration. It’s been less than a month. Imagine the level of hatred three months or six months or a year from now.”

Referring to a statement Mahathir made last month, he says it is clear that the former prime minister is “not very comfortable” with the GST.

Speaking to reporters covering a function at Perdana University on March 11, Mahathir said the public should tell the government that they are not happy with the GST by threatening to vote against Barisan Nasional in the next general election.

“The people are hoping that Mahathir’s attack on Najib will result in a change in administration and, with that, some positive development regarding the GST,” Shahbudin says.

“Many are resigned to the probability that the tax won’t be withdrawn, but hoping that the rate will be reduced to perhaps 4% or 3%.

“Mahathir is becoming more aggressive in his attacks against Najib, bringing up more and more issues apart from 1MDB and the Altantuya murder. In gathering public support for his cause, he’ll be taking a good step forward if he adds the GST issue to his list of subjects.

“Believe me, the people will give him more love and support if he is unequivocal in rejecting the 6% tax.” -fmt

Web pro-BN dakwa komplot dalaman nak guling Najib...

Arman: Cuma mahu naikkan rating

Malah Ketua Pemuda Umno Johor Hahasrin Hashim turut menafikan perkara sama.

- mk

Najib,is Pemuda UMNO all out top sabotage You...

There is a theory going around that if UMNO loses the Rompin By Election, Najib will be kicked out faster.  (UMNO sure kalah Permatang Pauh ok, no need to contest pun.)

In the last round the Rompin Parliamentary seat was won by over 15,000 vote majority.  Almost half of them came from one particular area.

Today the boys at MYKMU have uploaded the following at their website. The MYKMU are the PM's butt kissers pre eminent. Their noses are permanently brown.

In this posting the MYKMU have accused Pemuda UMNO led by Khairy Jamaluddin of being behind a plot to topple Najib.  Here is their post which I have 'screen captured'.

The Pemuda UMNO has since released a statement refuting this claim by the MY KMU boys.

Is there any truth to this dispute?

I have some information from a source which says  :  "Pemuda are making their move. Khairy punya order".  I dont know what the "order" is so I wont speculate.

Today Mr Clueless has said that the whole world supports him. He he.

Please read MYKMU, Mr Clueless. MYKMU are your own bloga cium buntot. You pay them money to say what they say.

They are saying that the Pemuda UMNO are out top sabotage and topple you.  So you can remove Pemuda UMNO from your list of 'the whole world supports me'.

So were the guys in the above picture just actinglah?

Umno portal: Youth leaders plotting PM's ouster...

A pro-Umno website has claimed that Umno Youth leaders could be attempting to plot the ouster of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

However, the wing's exco member Arman Azha Abu Hanifah, who was named as one of the conspirators, dismissed this.

According to MYKMU.net, a meeting was held last night where Umno Youth deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun "attempted to influence" Johor Umno Youth division leaders to go against Najib.

The meeting was attended by Arman as well as other Umno Youth exco members Syamsul Baharin Putra Ahmad Shibi, Sheikh Ahmad Nafiq Sheik A Rahman and Mohamed Shafri Abd Aziz.

Khairul (right) was alleged to have said that he did not trust Najib's explanation to Umno Youth divisional leaders last week and believed that the latter was "buying time" for the auditor-general to complete a probe on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The website also claimed that Khairul had said that Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin was most qualified to lead the revolt against Najib.

Khairul was said to have received support from Umno Youth heads from Sri Gading, Simpang Renggam and Pulai, while those who were against it were from Segamat, Johor Baharu, Muar, Bakri, Mersing and Gelang Patah.

MYKMU.net also claimed that Khairul would be in Permatang Pauh tomorrow to drive a similar agenda.

Khairul and Khairy have not responded to requests for comments.

Boosting ratings

However, Arman accused MYKMU.net of manipulating the facts of the meeting to boost the website's ratings.

"During the meeting, no one said Najib must step down, as claimed by the article," he said.

However, Arman (left) admitted there were some disagreements between those at the meeting on how the 1MDB controversy should be handled by the government.

He added that MYKMU.net was not present at the meeting and could have been misled by others.

Najib has come under tremendous pressure from former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad to resign.

The embattled prime minister has since met with the respective Umno wings to address the issues raised.

Umno Youth, which gave their president a rock star-like reception, later said it was satisfied with the explanations and pledged support for Najib.

Since Mahathir started his attacks, MYKMU.net has been publishing a series of articles defending Najib and criticising the former premier.

'No toppling of leaders'

Meanwhile, Johor Umno Youth chief Hahasrin Hashim denied the meeting yesterday was to plot to oust Najib.

In a separate statement, he said it was to discuss party work and “national issues” and how to “rebut the opposition” in various matters.

“There is no such thing as toppling leaders.

"Umno Youth remains loyal to the party’s cause and urges those trying to take advantage of the situation to stop making wild allegations,” he said. - mk

cheers.
