Sacked UPSI student stays put in college

One of the students expelled from a Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) residential college said she would stay on until official notice is given.

Situ Nurul Piteriah Abdul Halim, who was present at the student demonstration outside UPSI in Tanjung Malim on Jan 1, claimed that she was merely given a verbal notice from the college fellow, citing orders "from above".

"I'm still at the college. As long as there is no (official) notice, I will make my stand there. That is my right," said the Malay literature degree student.

Siti said she was told to leave, with immediate effect, at 9:30pm after she was released the evening after the demonstration.

She also identified the other student reported to have been expelled as Alif Ashraf.
