Dakwat kekal Indon ori, dakwat kekal Malaysia pencelup...

Itulah standard SPR Malaysia pak!!! - tumpang sekole

Indonesian ex-polls panel leader: Easy to get ink right...

It is very easy to effectively implement the usage of indelible ink during elections, former Indonesian Electoral Commission deputy chairperson Ramlan Surbakti said today.

Ramlan, one of the panel members of the People’s Tribunal on GE13, appeared rather perplexed when hearing out the legal team’s submissions on the Malaysian Election Commission’s (EC) inability to use an ink that lasted for only a few days.

“There is already an international standard. Why is it so difficult for the Election Commission (in Malaysia) to learn from other countries’ experience?” he asked.

Ramlan also said that if a transparent bidding process was done, the formulation of the indelible ink would be available to the public.

“In my country, we did a bidding process and it was all transparent,” said Ramlan, who was deputy chair for Indonesia’s election governing body between 2000 and 2004.

He said the indelible ink in Indonesia was purchased after it was tested to ensure the ink was in accordance with the syariah law of the country.

“We got ours (indelible ink) from India for the year 2004,” Ramlan said.

He said the Indonesian Electoral Commission also tested the ink to ensure it lasted at least three days on an ordinary voter.

“We even used lime to try and remove the ink, and made sure the ink can’t come off easily,” he added.-malaysiakini

Headhunter - It's not that it is difficult to get the correct ink. It's the people entrusted with implementing have their own sinister agenda, the main one being making certain cronies rich and the second to ensure the BN win by hook or by crook. Any fool would be able to get the right ink if only they are honest and professional in doing their job. Simple as that.

Podeh - There is no question of our EC learning from anyone..the cheek! Then there'll be no money to be made. In Malaysia, when we buy anything, implement any policy or build anything, one must factor in the money that must be mandatorily made by UMNO and its 40 thieves.

Cowboy - Our EC claim the ink they use can last for 7days and it is specially formulated. But it turn out to be a food dye. It is washable with household detergent. What a joke.

wg321 - What has happened to the EC's investigation on the indelible ink that is not indelible? Everything is quietly forgotten. MACC will not investigate also because nobody makes a report to them about corrupt practices. Somebody is laughing all the way to the bank. Easy money. This is Malaysia Boleh!

MinahBulat - Bapak Surbakti in Malaysia you have to understand that there are many issues that the EC have to go over on the indelible ink. One such is the health issue and the other is the halal issue. Our EC has said that our Health Department has given the green light but just as you are perplexed , we the Malaysian rakyaat are still waiting for the Ministry of Heath report till today. Oh just in case I forgot that Indian Health Minister said his Ministry never issued such a report but you understand , he is from MIC a mosquito party in the Barisan so his views are not considered at all.

cheers.
