1. When Fairus resigned due to alleged wrongdoing relating to an illegal quarry in Penang, all was top secret, even CM Lim Guan Eng did not know about it. Sure enough Guan Eng was upset.2. He gave an ultimatum to Anwar Ibrahim, “clear me within two weeks or else..............
3 Now MACC exonerated him of all wrongdoing and Fairus is now as clean as a whistle.
4. Fairus says his resignation as TKM 1 was a show of loyalty to his party and he leaves it to the party leadership to retract his resignation. Najib & UMNO must be very happy if Fairus retracts his resignation.
5. However, the Penang State Assembly Speaker Abdul Halim Hussin said that Fairus could not retract his resignation as an assemblyman.
6. Karpal says the resignation letter is retractable.
7. Fairus is standing by his resignation.In his statement he said,“I reaffirm my earlier stand to resign as Penanti assemblyperson and pledge full support for the PKR leadership under Anwar Ibrahim,”
8. Now Fairus has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against individuals, politicians and certain media for embarrassing him and making baseless allegations against him.
9. For reason unknown,EC has put off making an announcement on its decision regarding the status of the Penanti seat to Monday. Probably,waiting to know whether UMNO will participate or not. Meanwhile Najib presided his first MKT meeting yesterday.
10. Najib Razak said that the party's political bureau will decide whether Umno should contest in the Penanti by-election.11. Najib had previously argued that the by-election was a waste of public funds and wanted BN to skip the by-election. Since when did UMNO/BN feels that by-elections are waste of public funds? But Dr Mahathir Mohamad had criticised the move saying the party should not contest and make Anwar's PKR run for their money. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi now faces an immediate task of preparing the party towards the Penanti by-election now that he has been appointed as the new Umno Penang state liaison chief.
12. Hey, what about asking Mahathir to be the UMNO candidate for Penanti pitting him against PKR's Anwar Ibrahim? Yes,Mahathir vs Anwar in Penanti? Both have some old scores to settle........

Why pit Anwar against Mahathir?
Mahathir is no god & he made a lot of mistakes including corruption. MAAC should open his file,charge him, and let him rot in Sungai Buloh for good.
