Rupa2nya Hasan Ali bercita-cita jadi MB Selangor...

Come clean on pact with Umno, Husam tells Hasan Ali...

PAS vice-president Husam Musa has urged his former colleague Hasan Ali to come clean on his ambition to become the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Hasan was recently sacked from his post as Selangor PAS commissioner and state executive councillor for causing problems for the party.

NONEHusam (left) said Hasan should be transparent about his role and reasons for meeting Umno leaders right after the 2008 general election, instead of disparaging PAS during his road-shows.

He revealed that Hasan had met Umno leaders in Selangor on Mar 10, two days after Pakatan Rakyat won five states in the polls, to try and form a unity government between PAS and Umno.

“But PAS leaders had rejectd the idea straight away, so he was unsuccessful in his attempt to forge a relationship between our party and Umno,” said Husam, when met in Penang.

Husam, who is Salor assemblyperson, said he was travelling about in Kedah on Mar 9, 2008, to help Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak set up a new government.

On Mar 10, he was in Perak, to help set up a “people’s government” before the state was seized by BN in April, following the departure of three assemblypersons from Pakatan.

pkr taman ehsan selayang ceramah 020810 hasan ali“I was informed about Hasan’s (right) plans because on the same day, he had arranged a meeting with Umno (leaders) and the topic of discussion was to merge PAS and Umno,” he said.

“If that plan was successful, Hasan was supposed to be the Selangor Menteri Besar,” he added.

“But based on principles and our commitment to Pakatan, PAS leaders rejected the proposal,” stressed the Kelantan state exco member.
Hasan, the Gombak Setia assemblyperson, has denied ever wanting to join Umno, and insists that he was purged from PAS due to his hardline Islamic stance and his campaign against “rampant”  apostasy among Muslims.

But Hasan continues to harbour ambitions of becoming the MB, Husam said, and this is evident through his constant condemnation of Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim’s administration. He added that Hasan’s ambition started even before the issue of unity talks between the two Muslim parties came under the spotlight.

“But he must come clean about this meeting he had with Umno, if he is truly sincere in his struggles. When will he be transparent about it?” Husam asked.

On Hasan’s road-shows and his participation in Himpunan rallies organised by Muslim NGOs promoting awareness of the “growing Christianisation” within the community, Husam has a little advice for his former comrade.

He said that if Hasan’s struggle was sincerely for Islam, the latter should work hand in hand with various groups, even those aligned to PAS, which he has failed to do. His focus should be uniting the Muslim community and not disuniting them or spliting them apart, as he is doing now, added Husam.

“In all his speeches or public ceramah, he condemns PAS. I would like to remind him that when he whacks PAS, he must remember the good things the party had done for him.

“There is no need for me to list down what the party had done for him... there are simply too many.”
