Gomen Najib 1Malaysia 'flip-flop' pasal lesen judi haram.......

Keputusan pemberian lesen judi oleh kerajaan pusat kepada Ascot Sports Sdn Bhd telah ditangguhkan.

Walaupun diasak oleh soalan wartawan berhubung pemberian lesen berkenaan, Timbalan Menteri Kewangan, Datuk Donald Lim enggan menyatakan bila tarikh keputusan akan dibuat.

Katanya penangguhan itu bertujuan membolehkan semua pihak menyalurkan maklum balas mereka berhubung perkara berkenaan.

Kerajaan memilih untuk membisu berhubung isu lesen judi sukan tetapi menurut laporan New Straits Times, Lim pada 7 Jun lalu berkata keputusan akan diumumkan minggu ini.

Nampaknya Vincent Tan kenalah tunggu untuk mendapatkan lesen judi yang kononnya telah dipersetujui oleh Najib 1Malaysia.

Najib 1Malaysia kecut teloq bila dia mendapat tentangan hebat daripada masyarakat Islam, bukan Islam,parti-parti politik pembangkang dan juga UMNO, walapun para ulama UMNO hanya membisu seribu bahasa pasal judi haram ini.

Namun,aku rasa, apa yang gomen nak buat sekarang adalah mengadakan satu "cooling off period" untuk seketika dan bila masyarakat dah agak lupa nanti maka Najib 1Malaysia akan lulus secara diam-diam.

UMNO kian desperate dengan wang ringgit,untuk membayar bilangan katak-katak yang kian ramai menjadi BN-friendly pada masa ini........

The Malim Nawar deal to ensure BN stay in power........

Pakatan Rakyat,which once ruled Perak, now has 27 seats in the 58 seat state assembly,while BN has 28 seats and BN-friendly frogs 3 seats.

BN is in power with a slim majority of 1 seat, but with 4 BN-friendly frogs, Keshvinder Singh, included BN will have 28+4 = 32 seats, while PR will be left with 26 seats.

Rumours has it that 3 UMNO members are about to jump ship and if that so, the state assembly setup will be BN= 28-3 = 25, BN-friendly= 3 and PR= 27 + 3 = 30. However, before that happen, the DAP member quit to be BN-friendly member.

With that, the latest setup:

BN = 28
BN-friendly = 4
PR = 26

If Keshvinder Singh havent jump ship, with the 3 frogs from UMNO on PR side, PR will be with 30 seats, while BN/BN-friendly will be left with 28 seats. PR will form the government by virtue of its majority. Nizar has promised to dissolve the state assembly if he returns to power and this is what BN wants to avoid at all cost.

MB Zamry, got to make sure that the 3 UMNO recalcitrant Adun stay put and in order to strengthen BN's position, UMNO/BN is willing to pay any price to the DAP frog.

It is ridiculous to think that Keshvinder Singh quit, citing too much politicking in Pakatan. He said that his decision was in the best interests of his constituents because he believes that only BN can help develop the area, which is largely rural. All bullshit!!!!

The truth is that, probably MB Zambry sensing defeat, quickly turned to Keshvinder Singh, making a good and profitable offer that the Malim Nawar Adun willingly accepted,though he admitted that he had yet to meet MB Zambry Abd Kadir to discuss details. Maybe officially 'belum jumpalah', but unofficially,via phone,sms,email,telext etc,etc, the deal has already been made, who knows?

Nizar urged UMNO state assemblymen to table a motion of no confidence against Zambry to force fresh state polls. But motion of no-confidence can be tabled by either party.......

DAP Malim Nawar state rep quits........

Malim Nawar state assemblyperson Keshvinder Singh has quit DAP and declared himself independent, making him the fourth Perak Pakatan Rakyat state assemblyperson to do so since February last year. His decision to quit DAP and support BN is ironical since he had complained to the authorities last year that he was offered RM20 million to defect, declare himself Independent and express support for BN.

He had claimed that the offers were made by various agents claiming to represent then Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. With the latest defection, Perak Pakatan is now left with 27 seats in the state legislative assembly, while BN has 28 seats and the independents four seats.
In March 2008, Keshvinder won the seat with a majority of 1,362 against MCA's Dr Chai Song Poh.

Keshvinder told reporters that he tendered his resignation to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng this morning, citing too much politicking in Pakatan as his reason for quitting. He said that his decision was in the best interests of his constituents because he believes that only BN can help develop the area, which is largely rural.

Keshvinder said he chose to defect now instead of February last year - along with Hee Yit Foong (Jelapang), Mohd Osman Jailu (Changkat Jering) and Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (Behrang) - because he didn't know how serious the problems were at his constituency then.

“When I started doing work there (after February 2009) I found that there are severe poverty issues that really need to be solved,” he said.

Keshvinder said he hoped the BN state government will provide financial aid so that he can serve his constituents.

"The state and national DAP did not assist me in helping the people. I couldn't do anything for my constituents as an opposition state assemblyperson," he said, adding that he had been using his own funds thus far.

'I am clean'

However, he admitted that he had yet to meet Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir to discuss details.

“As I am now an Independent state assemblyperson, the state government should allocate some money to my constituency. But if they don't then I will have to tell the people that neither side is looking out for their welfare,” he said.

He also denied suggestions that he was paid to leave DAP and challenged detractors to inspect his bank accounts. He remained adamant that he has not been approached by any BN members.

“I am clean,” he said.

"I know the initial response from my constituents won't be good, but I will go to the ground to explain to them that I did this for their good."

Unlike those who defected from Pakatan before him, Keshvinder was not accompanied by any major personalities.

If Najib so popular call snap election now........

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak can consider calling an early general election if it is true that his approval rating has soared to 72 per cent.

"Alhamdullilah (praise be to God) if he has received (a rating of) 72 per cent," he said, adding that it would be good to know who actually conducted the survey.

A poll conducted by the opinion research firm, Merdeka Centre, between May 6 and 16 showed that Najib's approval rating was 72 per cent, up from 69 per cent in April.

Dr Mahathir said it would have to be left to the government to decide whether to call the next general election earlier than 2013, when it is due, based on the poll by the Merdeka Centre. He said that when he had led the Barisan Nasional (BN) to an election victory to secure a two-third majority in Parliament, his popularity rating was only 60 per cent.

"But if it is 72 per cent, we hope to be able to win more than a two-third majority. Perhaps, you can call the elections now!" he told reporters after having addressed a gathering of the Gerakan Kebangkitan Rakyat (Gertak) or People's Awareness Movement at the stadium in Kuala Terengganu.

The Merdeka Centre had conducted the poll on a sample size of 1,028 Malaysians, 47 per cent of whom were unemployed, and interviewed them over the telephone. The poll showed the highest approval rating among the Indians (80 per cent) followed by the Malays (77 per cent) and the Chinese (58 per cent).

Dr Mahathir, when asked for his comments on the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) which was tabled in parliament last week, said it had allayed the fear of Malays that their interests would be ignored in the New Economic Model (NEM).

"I have yet to scrutinise the 10MP, but it looks like the problems of the Malays will be attended to by the government.

"This is because the NEM has looked into the criticisms from the Malays, not from the ruling parties but from the Malay non-governmental organisations.

"I believe these criticisms have been taken into account in the 10MP," he said.

Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Said and Gertak chairperson Razali Idris were also present at the gathering, which was attended by some 1,000 representatives of non-governmental organisations.

Probably those samples involved in the poll, majority, were loyal BN members. On second thought APCO must have given a helping hand in order to booster Najib's image.

Since Najib is riding high on popularity, he can test his popularity by calling an election in Perak first.

Bila hanya 600 Melayu saja bangkit.......

Hanya kira-kira 600 peserta menyertai perhimpunan Melayu Bangkit di stadium tertutup Kuala Terengganu pagi ini. Perhimpunan yang sepatutnya diadakan 13 Mei lalu diadakan hari ini dengan tetamu khasnya adalah bekas perdana menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed.

Menurut pengerusi penganjur program, Razali Idris, terdapat 40 NGO yg bergabung di majlis ini. Antara NGO lain yang bergabung dalam GERTAK ialah PEWARIS, Gerakan Belia 4B, Sahabat Laut Malaysia, Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia Terengganu dan Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Negara (PERKASA).

Perhimpunan yang sepatutnya berlangsung pada 13 Mei, iaitu hari berlakunya tragedi rusuhan perkauman, ditentang oleh pelbagai pihak selepas ia didedahkan oleh PAS dalam satu sidang media di Kuala Lumpur.

Dalam sidang itu, Naib Presiden PAS, Salahudin Ayub dan Setiuasaha Agung, Datuk Mustafa Ali kesal dengan perhimpunan yang bakal menaikkan semangat perkauman sempit itu. Ekoran itu pelbagai pihak membantahnya termasuk rakan-rakan kongsi Umno dalam Barisan Nasional iaitu MCA, MIC dan Gerakan.

Ekoran itu, pihak penganjurnya telah menangguhkan perhimpunan itu ke hari ini.

Bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir telah berucap dengan mengungkit sejarah politik dan kemerdekaan negara. Menurut beliau, sudahlah pengundi Melayu hanya 60 peratus sahaja di negara ini, mereka pula berpecah kepada tiga kumpulan iaitu Umno, PAS dan PKR.

Beliau juga menyindir bekas timbalannya, tanpa menyebut nama Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, dengan berkata "mata hitam yg mempunyai tabiat buruk, tidak boleh dibenarkan terus memimpin orang Melayu."

Mahathir kata pengundi Melayu tinggal 60% saja. Bukankah UMNO punca segala-galanya? Kalaulah UMNO benar-benar berjuang untuk orang Melayu,sudah tentu orang Melayu akan sokong UMNO. Tapi, UMNO hanya berjuang untuk kaum kerabat,kroni-kroni serta anak pinak depa saja. Jadi sapa yang sokong UMNO, kecuali Melayu yang asyik dok baca dan mengikuti akhbar Utusan Meloya dan RTM saja.

Kalau benar pengundi Melayu tinggal 60% saja, itu adalah petanda yang baik, kerana daripada 60% itu, yang sokong UMNO mungkin hanya kurang daripada 30% dan ini bermakna UMNO akan mampuaih lebih cepat.......

A dilapidated suspension bridge that time forgot.......

Kuala Lipis: More than 400 people are dicing with danger daily when they use a dilapidated suspension bridge that links their two villages near here.

The villages in Kampong Pamah Air have no choice but to use the bridge which shortens the trip to Kampung Beriang,which has more facilities and is located nearer to the main road and town.

The 200m bridge which was built about 30 years ago,was the favourite link among villagers as the alternative way was to take a boat ride.

The worst is that, it is in PM Najib's own state of Pahang, where he was once an MB there.

Yet, he talks about building 6,312km of new roads in Peninsular Malaysia under the 10th Malaysia Plan. Btw, are there enough funds for these projects under 10thMP........

Jumaah Majlis Diraja Johor mengesahkan penarikan balik dua darjah kebesaran yang membawa gelaran Datuk terhadap anggota Majlis Tertinggi Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Datuk Chua Jui Meng tetapi menafikan ia berpunca daripada tekanan politik. Setiausahanya Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli berkata kuasa Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail untuk menganugerahkan atau menarik balik darjah kebesaran adalah "melampaui politik."

"Tidak wujud keadaan yang dikatakan sebagai tekanan politik untuk menganugerahkan atau menarik balik darjah kebesaran itu.

Sultan Johor katanya, berkuasa penuh terhadap perkara itu di bawah Fasal 12 Undang-undang dan Peraturan bagi Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia dan Fasal 7(f) Bahagian Kedua Undang-undang Tubuh Kerajaan Negeri 1895.Ditanya mengenai sebab disebalik langkah penarikan balik darjah kebesaran yang dianugerahkan kepada Chua itu, Abdul Rahim berkata, Sultan Johor tidak perlu memberikan sebab kerana itu adalah kuasa baginda.

Chua Jui Meng a victim of Johor power play by Soi Lek, UMNO top guns....

Speculation is rife that MCA president Chua Soi Lek and his colleagues in Johor Umno are behind the Sultan’s decision to take back the two datukships from Chinese leader Chua Jui Meng.

The reason: to publicly discredit Jui Meng and prevent Johor from falling to the Pakatan Rakyat in the next general election.

“It is another diabolical BN plot. When you have Umno as the boss and a man like Soi Lek in charge of the MCA, this is the sort of dirt you get,” an MCA watcher told Malaysia Chronicle.

The news shocked the country as the withdrawal of titular awards rarely occurs and only when the recipient has committed a major crime, like murder or embezzlement. Even Soi Lek, who was filmed having extra-marital sex and performing unnatural sexual acts against the order of nature, was never asked to return his datukship.

“I am very saddened by this but I was warned that the Mentri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman would ask the Sultan to take back the titles if I joined Anwar,” Jui Meng told Malaysia Chronicle.

The 67-year old joined Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's PKR last year, citing disenchantment with the BN’s unwillingness to carry out reforms. All eyes are now on another former top BN leader - ex-law minister Zaid Ibrahim - to see if he will also be asked to surrender his datukship.

Still influential

A top leader in the Chinese community, Jui Meng was among the five most powerful men in the MCA during his heyday. Despite leaving the party, he still wields influence in Malaysia’s southernmost state, where he was the Bakri MP for five terms until 2004. Jui Meng was also the longest-serving Health Minister from 1995 to 2004. But recently, he publicly crossed swords with Soi Lek, whom he described as untrustworthy and treacherous compared to former MCA president Ong Tee Keat.

Soi Lek beat Tee Keat in the recent MCA party polls and has already acted to have Tee Keat dropped from the Cabinet and his followers ousted from positions of power within the MCA. Despite public outcry and accusations of nepotism, Soi Lek also insisted on securing a deputy minister-ship for his son Tee Yong, the MP for Labis.

“This is a Johor power play. But it is not just Soi Lek. Frankly, he doesn’t have the guts to move alone without the backing of top Johor Umno leaders. Muhyiddin’s name has also been mentioned,” the MCA watcher said. He was referring to Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

Justice for Jui Meng

Meanwhile, Jui Meng – who says he will keep his official medals until a formal notification from the Palace – promises to step up his campaign for change.

“It is not the Sultan’s fault. To an extent, he is also a victim of our political system,” Jui Meng said.

A devout Christian, Jui Meng helped the Pakatan Rakyat win the Sibu by-election last month, reaching out to the thousands of Christians in the East Malaysian constituency with his suave and persuasive oratory. PKR leaders have reaffirmed their support for him, a member of their supreme council and political bureau.

“We urge the Malaysian Chinese throughout the country, especially in Johor, to take note of what is happening. We also ask the same of the Malaysian Christians especially those in Johor - please take note of what is happening,” PKR director of strategy Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

“Gauge for yourselves whether Jui Meng has been fairly treated and then show your anger and protest at the ballot box. Jui Meng deserves justice, he has served the community and the nation long enough."
