Ku Nan dilepas tanpa dibebas, pendakwaan tidak terus kes. Ini pun perbuatan khianat juga kerana banyak duit negara (bersamaan duit rakyat jelata) dan tenaga kakitangan awam habis siasat dan tuduh ketua Umno ini. 

Banyak masa Hakim dan kakitangan mahkamah habis bagi membicarakan beliau. Tiba-tiba Pejabat Peguam Negara tarik balik  kes. Peguam Negara yang baru ini (Idrus bin Azizan Harun), adalah lantikan Kerajaan Perikatan Nasional (PN). Lepas itu adik dia, Azhar, dilatik pula jadi Yang di-Pertuan Dewan Rakyat. 

Apa hal dengan pengakuan mahkamah oleh tauke Tan Boon Eng September lalu yang dia bagi rasuah RM1 juta kepada Adnan? Mahkamah denda dia RM1.5 juta atas kesalahan itu. Hari ini Hakim kata Pendakwa Rakyat tarik balik tuduhan pasal ada perkembangan baru.

The Malaysian Bar has urged the Attorney-General’s Chambers to provide details of the reasoning behind the prosecution’s withdrawal of its case against former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Mansor.

Tengku Adnan, accused of a RM1 million corruption case, was granted a conditional discharge when the prosecution said it did not wish to proceed because of “new developments”, later revealed to be a fresh investigation into complaints against a witness.

Malaysian Bar president Salim Bashir said the public prosecutor must provide valid reasons for his decision. “It is also very concerning that no time frame on further investigating this ‘new development’ has been provided,” he said. He said the public had the right to know the detailed explanation behind the withdrawal of charges in matters of public interest. - fmt

A touchstone for Umno 

and DAP to collaborate...

Without collaboration from DAP, Umno is unable to oust Perak menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu. Umno has 25 seats in the state assembly while DAP 16. Other parties such as PKR, Amanah, PAS and PPBM are the minorities. The latest development has upended the norm of politics in Malaysia.

For so many years Umno and DAP have been at loggerheads, with each painting the other as evil. This time, DAP and Umno actually work together! Many can't believe this, including Ahmad Faizal himself. 

An MB from PPBM, let's take a look at Ahmad Faizal's background. He comes from an Umno family. His father was an Umno divisional chairman and was a senator for two terms. Ahamad Faizah himself is not an outstanding person. He did not complete his studies in Australia. He was in Umno for a long time but never got a chance to be of any importance.

When Liow Tiong Lai was the health minister, he was appointed a special assistant to Liow. And when Dr Mahathir Mohamad's son Mukhriz became the Kedah menteri besar, he left Liow to join Mukhriz. When Dr Mahathir and his son left Umno to form PPBM, he joined them and was given a chance to contest in Perak. He won the Chenderiang state seat with a very slim majority of only 39 votes, the smallest majority in the country, to defeat his opponent from MCA. He was damned lucky. 

When Pakatan Harapan won Perak, Ahmad Faizal was the only elected rep from PPBM (several Umno state assemblymen joined the party later). He was lucky for the second time as DAP, which won a total of 18 seats, gave the MB position to PPBM, which only had a single seat in the state. Ahmad Faizal was the only elected representative from PPBM. Of course, he became the only candidate to be menteri besar!

After the PH government collapsed, Ahmad Faizal was the sole survivor who managed to keep his MB post when he crossed over from PH to Perikatan Nasional. He may not be a very capable man, but is easy going. Despite his `colorful' private life, he does not have any bad record in politics.

However, PPBM is a minority while Umno the majority in Perak. Umno is vying for the MB position and continues to exert pressure. In order to protect himself, Ahmad Faizal was trying to garner support from Umno, those who were not in the mainstream, to be with him. He shot himself in the foot when he appointed Pengkalan Hulu state assemblyman Aznel Ibrahim from Umno as his political secretary, offering Perak Umno a reason to topple him.

When Umno tabled a confidence motion on the MB in the state assembly, Ahmad Faizal knew the motive was to oust him, but he did not take the matter seriously. He knew a total of 30 votes would be required to oust him and Umno only had 25 votes.

He did not expect the 16 votes from DAP, five from Amanah and three from PKR would be joining Umno. Later, he lamented: "I had not expected DAP to support Umno."

In politics, the most unexpected incident could take place, so long as the criteria match the interest of both sides. Umno's motive to topple Ahmad Faizal is obvious. But what is DAP's? Are the political differences between DAP and Ahmad Faizal greater than that between DAP and Umno? Are the grudges between DAP and Ahmad Faizal greater than that between DAP and Umno?

The answer is no, definitely. Ahmad Faizal is an easy going man without a strong identity. In racial and religious matters, he is also not a hardliner. He should be the most acceptable type for DAP! After Ahmad Faizal's departure, the MB post will very likely go to Umno. DAP will be facing an even tougher opponent. If this is the case, then why is DAP willing to work with Umno?

As the state DAP leadership is still immersed in a euphoria, I do not hear a valid reason from them. If they have not been infected with 'collective political coronavirus' which changes their normal way of thinking, then they must have done so on the spur of the moment.

Then, the action this time round is an experiment for collaboration between Umno and DAP. If the joint action between Umno and DAP is successful in overturning the PN state government in Perak, then the two parties may even collaborate to topple the Muhyiddin-led federal government, as well as other state governments under PN

Some of the PH elected representatives are saying the chain effect will be extended from state to the federal level. By duplicating this strategy, the combination is capable of ruining PN and Muhyiddin Yassin easily. Other political parties such as PPBM and PKR will be rendered powerless.

One can be even bold enough to predict that as long as Umno and DAP are working together, they will win the next GE as both parties are supported by the Malays and Chinese respectively. Of course, many would also worry that such collaboration will not be well received by the supporters of Umno and DAP. But bear in mind that DAP and PAS used to be in an alliance prior to this, and DAP also worked with Mahathir. Was DAP embracing the devils? They nonetheless still received tremendous support from their supporters.

The key lies with the ability to tell a good story. As long as the story is convincing and more attractive than the story of a thousand and one nights, it will win the hearts of the supporters. Principle is just part of the ingredient for the story. Perak Umno did not seek approval from Umno supreme council before tabling the confidence motion. It did not notify BN, too. But Perak Umno is controlled by the Zahid-Najib faction. Was there a pair of hands behind all this?

The Perak incident has aggravated the rift between Umno and PPBM. Both parties can no longer trust each other any more. PAS has insisted on sticking to PPBM. The Muafakat Nasional between Umno and PAS is also on the verge of collapse. After ousting Ahmad Faizal, the plotter and the collaborator are sure to share their gain. Umno is eyeing the MB post. Zahid & UMNO dah tersilap langkah di Perak...

PH tak perlu sibuk nak selamatkan gomen tebuk atap...

Keputusan UMNO bawahan terutama bahagian UMNO Perak yang Zahid ada pengaruhnya menjatuhkan MB Peja, mereka telah masuk perangkap Politik sendiri sebenarnya... tujuan asal Zahid dan Najib untuk jatuhkan Peja di Perak hanya bertujuan untuk gugurkan MB dan kekalkan Kerajaan untuk bagi signal kepada Muhyidin..

Itu sebab sedar akan kesilapan, Zahid kelam kabut keluarkan keluarkan kenyataan, yang UMNO masih mahu mengekalkan kerajaan PN.. cuma mahu tukar MB... hakikatnya yang tak disedari, tindakan UMNO bahagian telah membubarkan Kerajaan sedia ada memandangkan UMNO bukan dalam gabungan rasmi PN... Itu sebab aku kata Zahid ini seorang yang gelojoh..

Mereka terlupa.. Sultan Negeri Perak adalah Sultan yang bijaksana dan arif dalam Undang2.. Bila MB hilang sokongan.. maka wajar seluruh ahli jemaah Exco turut meletak jawatan.. kerana Kerajaan sudah pun terbubar.. Itu yang berlaku bila sebelum ini Bersatu umum keluar dari gabungan PH.. 

Formula baru???-

Jadi jika ada mana mana Adun,hatta ada pemimpin UMNO menyokong tertubuhnya Kerajaan PH.. kita raikan sokongan dan kerjasama mereka... Tetapi untuk meletakkan kerjasama dengan parti UMNO dan PH membentuk kerajaan pemimpin PH wajib tolak... Jangan masuk dalam Perangkap UMNO.. Biarlah UMNO dan PN berantakan.. Pengkhianatan telah pun dilakukan UMNO..sukar untuk dipulihkan...

Jangan ada pemimpin PH kerana dendam dengan PAS terutama di dalam Amanah..rindukan kerusi empuk Exco kita masuk dalam perangkap UMNO untuk bekerjasama dengan mereka... lebih baik jadi pembangkang bermaruah dari bersama dengan UMNO... Bagi yang gelojoh dengan move politik ini..biarlah mereka bersama dengan UMNO..

Kita biarkan UMNO dan Pakatan Nasional saling berantakan.. Ini petanda baik untuk kita dipersekutuan dan dalam PRU 15.. PM tebuk atap itupun bila bila saja boleh tumbang...

New Federal Political Alliances.??

The Art of Politics never fails to disappoint us. As even we try to settle with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Government there was already talks within the elitist in the hierarchy circles that a New Alliance might emerge after GE15. Any Possibility? Surely, amidst the chaos which developed after the Sheraton Hotel Move there must be another Partnership or Alliances of Coalition or Parties which will bring out the best of all Malaysian Leaders in Politics.

PH pulled out the rabbit from the Magician’s hat before GE14 and another political plot is being hatched in the quest to take over PutraJaya which will and might just about have the peoples mandate. Bersatu will rely heavily on PAS/GPS/GRS and others in order to keep this coalition alive and continue to be helming the Prime Minister’s post.

Looks like UMNO is making a fast and calculated move to reengineer itself to the forefront again. All eyes will be watching the political elitist in the next couple of months. UMNO who has been at loggerheads and used DAP as the bogeyman for many years is looking to regain lost ground in Malaysia’s Political Scene.

Mahathir used it together in PH with Bersatu/PKR/Amanah/DAP to see the end of the alliances of 13 parties in Barisan National and saw to the breakup with parties leaving the BN Coalition. New Coalitions have already taken shape in Sarawak under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and in Sabah under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

UMNO will certainly be looking at this phrase with weighted interests,” The enemy of my enemy is my friend .” as they will be a clash of of distribution of seats with PAS/BERSATU. DAP will play its role if given the chance to work together in the formation of Federal Partnership as they have tasted “some power” for 2 and Half years from 2018 to 2020.

Where will PKR come in? The mechanism and operations will be for the hierarchy leaders to work out a “working formula” where all parties will be comfortable looking after their communities or constituencies where or whom they represent. Politicians will be watching to see if this  new rwality does unfold.

Malaysians we know very well that they want a Stable Government and an Vibrant Economy where the Political Climate will be sustainable for their businesses,their safety and their livelihood.

Former Bersatu supreme council member A Kadir Jasin said speculations of Umno and DAP forming political cooperation may become a reality. Kadir, who is aligned to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said he had received information about a potential Umno-DAP collaboration even before the collapse of the Bersatu-led Perak government.

An hour before the collapse of the Perak government, Kadir  said he was informed by a trusted person of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim that it was going to happen. Kadir said he then inquired who would replace the Perak government. “He (the source) replied at 10.04am saying: ‘Umno 25, DAP 16, Amanah 5 and PKR 3. Umno becomes menteri besar. DAP agreed to work with Umno in next election,” Kadir said on Facebook.

An hour later, Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu was ousted as the Perak menteri besar. Faizal led the coalition government in Perak comprising Perikatan Nasional’s Bersatu and PAS, BN’s Umno as well as Gerakan and an independent. However, 24 Umno assemblypersons joined another 24 from the opposition Pakatan Harapan against Faizal  in a confidence vote.

Following the incident, Kadir said he inquired with a DAP central executive committee member about the alleged DAP and Umno tie-up but the leader downplayed the speculation. However, Kadir said moments later he was informed about a similar tie-up by a Chinese Malaysian fund manager who is based in Hong Kong.

“(He said) Umno and DAP working together. Dream team finally coming together,” Kadir recounted. “Are these messages about an Umno-DAP cooperation only talk or the precursor of a new reality?” he added.

Kadir then pointed out if Mahathir could join forces with DAP in the past to oust BN, there was no reason Umno couldn’t adopt the same tactic. Furthermore, he noted that Umno’s MCA and MIC partners in BN are unable to draw non-Malay support which has shifted towards DAP.

“It won’t be surprising if DAP, which has tasted power in Harapan, aspires a return to Putrajaya through a new coalition with Umno. “Such is the nature of political manoeuvring where conspiracies are not just a theory but can become reality,” he said. Kadir’s comments came amid Umno and DAP leaders indicating that they are open to a tie-up.

Both Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming (pix,above) have signalled that cooperation could happen.   Earlier today, Umno’s Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad also hailed Harapan as a “strategic partner” amid calls by some in Bersatu to oust Hasni in a similar way that Umno ousted Bersatu’s Faizal in Perak. Hasni’s state budget easily passed the Johor assembly. - audie61

Dua isu utama penjualan ladang sawit 15,000 hektar milik kerajaan negeri secara rundingan terus tanpa tender dan pelantikan ADUN UMNO sebagai Setiausaha Politik MB Perak punca MB Perak disingkir. Ladang ini dah lama dimilik kerajaan Perak di bawah BN sejak tahun 1995 dan nilai ladang tersebut adalah sebanyak RM1.03 bilion dan memberi keuntungan besar sebanyak RM40 juta setiap tahun kepada negeri Perak. Selepas kerajaan PH Perak tumbang dan MB Perak PH menjadi MB Perak PN, penjualan tersebut tetap diteruskan secara rundingan terus tanpa tender di bawah kerajaan PN Perak.

Insiden kedua ialah pelantikan seorang ADUN Umno sebagai setiausaha politik MB Perak tanpa merujuk dan mendapat persetujuan dari kepimpinan UMNO negeri.Setiap pelantikan politik perlu mendapat persetujuan parti masing-masing,tapi tak dilakukan MB Perak.Oleh sebab MB Perak tak hirau dan tetap khianat persetujuan antara parti, maka dia pun tumbang hari ini.

UMNO and Bersatu rivalry looks set to escalate after Perak move, Muhyiddin’s no 2 in Bersatu

Will Perak trigger a political spillover?...

Now that Perak menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has lost the motion of confidence vote in the state assembly, who will be the new MB? And which party will helm the new state government? By convention a menteri besar (and even prime minister for that matter) who has lost a confidence motion (what more a no-confidence one) will have to resign, resulting in the collapse of his government.

In conceding defeat, Ahmad Faizal has promised a smooth transition. According to Perak opposition leader, DAP's Dr Aziz Bari, who is also a law expert, "Even though the administration has fallen, it can still function as a caretaker government, and I believe the Perak Sultan will take this matter into consideration." The next few days will see meetings, discussions and negotiations.

In the 59-seat state assembly, 25 representatives are from Umno, 16 from DAP, five from Bersatu, five from Amanah, three each from PKR and PAS, one from Gerakan, and one independent.

The Gerakan seat is for Buntong held by A. Sivasumbramnai who defected from DAP. The independent assemblyman is Yong Choo Kiong, also a former DAP man. He holds the seat for Tronoh. Both are Perikatan Nasional/Bersatu- friendly. Incidentally, out of the five Bersatu representatives, two crossed over from Umno.

30 seats are needed for a simple majority to form the state government. It's no secret that Umno is at loggerheads (to put it mildly) with Bersatu at state (as well federal) level. And when Umno assemblyman Datuk Abdul Manaf Hashim moved the motion of confidence for Ahmad Faizal, the immediate thinking then was Umno wanted to topple the menteri besar, who is Bersatu deputy president.

What more the motion was accepted by Speaker Mohamad Zahir Abdul Kadir. For the record, Zahir is from Umno.  A confidence motion, as law experts tells us, is the same as a no-confidence motion. Both put the menteri besar to a test in the assembly, and both motions can result in the MB being ousted.

Although a confidence motion seeks to show support, it can be detrimental as in the case of Ahmad Faizal. It is said that Umno knew very well he would not win the motion. But whatever it is, we have now a situation where Umno is short of only five seats to from the state government with a simple majority. The question is, where will the crucial seats come from?

Will Umno work with Pakatan Harapan? DAP, PKR and Amanah have a combined seats of 24. PAS is working with Bersatu, obviously comfortable in Perikatan Nasional.

For the confidence motion, PAS voted in support. Taking that into perspective, it can be seen that PAS has broken ranks with Umno, at least at the state level. Muafakat Nasional could have been severed In Perak. Is that the situation?

Umno has managed to oust Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's No. 2 man. Will this have a big effect on Bersatu-Umno ties at national level? Can this be seen as the start of an Umno mutiny against Bersatu/Perikatan Nasional? Is Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi "at work"? Taking into account Perak is his home state, could Zahid be telling Muhyiddin, "If we can do it in Perak, we can do it in Putrajaya, too"? In a nutshell, the events in Perak could very well signal important changes, i.e. Umno-Bersatu split at state level, and new cooperation between Umno and Pakatan Harapan parties.

Still, Umno is expected to helm the new government. Two names are being floated. One is Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Khalid, himself Perak MB before BN lost GE14. The other name is Datuk Saarani Mohamad, the current state Umno chief.

But now, Ahmad Faisal is singing a different tune. Malay Mail Online quoted him as saying there will not be a transition government but rather a change in menteri besar only. Another report has him hinting of a PAS-Umno-Bersatu set up. That remains to be natural. We will just have to see how and what pans out.

Bear in mind that PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan is on record saying PAS has decided not to join efforts to form a new Perak state government. He went on to say that this was the decision of the party's central leadership following Ahmad Faisal's ouster.

Therefore, a big question being asked is, will what has taken place in Perak spill over to other states, in particular Johor and Melaka, where ties between Umno and Bersatu are, to say the least, strained? And a bigger question is, as said earlier, will all this have an impact on Putrajaya? In short, is something about to happen at the federal level?

Umno and DAP leaders are now saying it's time for a vote on the prime minister. A vote of confidence, they say, would lay to rest any questions on the support the PM has and the legitimacy of the Perikatan Nasional government.

Mohamed Nazri, Umno leader and MP for Padang Rengas (incidentally a constituency in Perak) is quoted by MalaysiaKini as saying, "Once and for all, we can settle this." At least 25 opposition MPS have submitted a no-confidence motion against Muhyiddin while two MPS (from Umno and PAS) have submitted confidence motion.

Speaker Datuk Azhar Harun has always maintained that in accordance with parliamentary procedures, government business matters shall take precedence over other matters. Motions of no-confidence and confidence, obviously, fall under "other matters".

But in the Perak assembly where the speaker is also governed by the same procedures, the speaker allowed the confidence motion to be fast tracked, resulting it to take precedence over government business, albeit a very important one, i.e. tabling of the state budget for 2021.

What will the next Perak 

government look like?...

Political change is underway in Perak following the ouster of Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who is from Bersatu. The situation is very fluid at the moment, but here's what we know so far, and what the possibilities are in the coming days.

What happened?

On Friday morning, the Perak State Legislative Assembly voted 48-10 against Faizal during a motion of confidence. The vote had been fast-tracked after emergency motions by Umno and DAP were accepted by the legislature's speaker. Faizal acknowledged the vote and promised a smooth transition.

Why did it happen?

Faizal said he did not see it coming. However, Padang Rengas Umno chief Nazri Abdul Aziz (above) told Malaysiakini that Perak Umno had been unhappy with Faizal for the last two months. "The final straw was Faizal's appointment of (Umno's Pengkalan Hulu assemblyperson) Aznel Ibrahim as his political secretary (in October), without consulting us," Nazri said.

What happens next?

Faizal has given his assurance that he will not seek to dissolve the State Assembly and call for a snap election. This means that a new state government has to be formed. Umno, which has the most seats in Perak, is already making moves to nominate a menteri besar.

Who will Umno form a government with?

Forming the new Perak government will require the control of 30 seats in the State Assembly. Umno has 25 seats. PAS - which has 3 seats - has decided not to join in efforts to form the next state government. PAS had supported Faizal to stay on as menteri besar. 

This means Umno must get support from Bersatu and its six assemblypersons to form the next government. Faizal has said that Bersatu is slighted by his ouster, but that efforts must be made to reconcile and form a new government.

What if Bersatu doesn't support Umno?

If Umno doesn't get Bersatu's backing, this means the party must try to cobble up support from Pakatan Harapan. DAP has 16 assemblypersons, Amanah (5) and PKR (3).

Malaysiakini understands that the situation is very fluid at the moment and that all cards are on the table. There is even talk about a possible "unity government".

Political scientist Wong Chin Huat said the simplest way out is for Umno and DAP to have a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with power-sharing through legislative reforms. "Yes, CSA is basically power-sharing through the State Assembly instead of state cabinet," Wong said in a Facebook post.

What if no one has a majority?

If Umno, or any other party, is unable to secure majority support, then there are two possible options. The first is a minority government. DAP's Tebing Tinggi assemblyperson Abdul Aziz Bari (above) said that while there is no specific provision in the Perak State Constitution for this, the sultan does have the prerogative to form a minority government. 

"That’s (possible) when such is the only option left, but as of now I don't think we have reached that stage," Aziz told Malaysiakini. If a minority government is not formed, then the only option left is to dissolve the State Assembly and call for a snap election.

What impact will this have at the federal level?

Nazri said the ouster of Faizal does not reflect Umno's ties with Bersatu. "This is not a matter of us being angry with Bersatu, but we (Umno Perak) are angry with an individual... who failed to perform as menteri besar.

"This was not an Umno decision, but a decision of Umno assemblypersons," he said. Nazri added that Umno MPs have no problems with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, and has assured that they would support him if there was a vote of confidence. - Zikri Kamarulzaman,mk

Nasib baik bukan Walaunium...

Pengumuman oleh MB lebai balak Kedah bahawa Kedah mempunyai khazanah galian yg cukup berharga RM43 trilion mungkin bertukar menjadi aktiviti melombong apabila balak di atas tanah yg terlibat telah cerahkan kononnya utk mendapatkan REE (Rare Earth Element). When voters take their YB to court...

If I'm not wrong, this is unprecedented. And I think I am right. I'm talking about the move by ten Gombak voters who have filed a suit against their Member of Parliament.

Gombak is a federal constituency in the Gombak district of Selangor. And the MP sued by the voters is Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, a member of Bersatu led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and also a senior minister in prime minister Muhyiddin's administration. 

Azmin has held the seat since 2008, winning it on a PKR ticket in GE12, GE13 and GE14. In GE14 in 2018, Azmin won with a thumping majority of more than 40,000 votes to garner a total of 75,113 votes. He later jumped ship to join Bersatu following the February coup.

MPs being sued and taken to court is not something which we have not heard of previously. Not often, but it has happened. But this time, it's different, making it the first time voters filing a suit against their MP for "deceit and breach of fiduciary duty". Google, and we are told that deceit is the "action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing, distorting or misrepresenting the truth for the purpose of misleading, dublicity, fraud, cheating."

Meanwhile, a fiduciary duty is defined by Investopedia as "a commitment to act in the best interests of another person or entity. Broadly speaking, a fiduciary is a duty of loyalty and a duty of care. That is the fiduciary must act only in the best interests of a client of beneficiary."

Hence, the ten voters, or in legal terms the plaintiffs, want a declaration that Azmin as trustee owes them a fiduciary duty as an elected representative. And they also want a declaration that Azmin being the representative they elected committed a tort of deceit against them.

And this is interesting to say the least. It was reported that the plaintiffs' bone of contention is that Azmin made a representation that he was standing for election in 2018 to oust the then BN government and "to free Malaysia of corrupt officials".

They alleged that Azmin caused the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government in February and joined Perikatan Nasional administration which included BN and persons Azmin himself had knowledge were "credibly accused of corrupt practices".

Bear in mind the suit is filed nine months after the Sheraton Move leading to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government. Incidentally, a few days earlier Azmin had accused former Pakatan Harapan prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as being the brains behind the formation of Perikatan Nasional, which Mahathir denied.

According to Mahathir, if there were persons who "rigorously" planned for Perikatan Nasional to be formed and to exit Pakatan Harapan, "they would surely be Azmin and Muhyiddin as both would benefit the most."

A few days after Azmin made his "revelation", DAP's Liew Chin Tong came up with a write-up to say the political coup was planned as early as October 2019, well before the Sheraton Move. "Azmin was the main architect of the failed coup in October 2019 which was the precursor to the Sheraton coup," wrote Liew. He went on to list what he said were "the facts for the record".

As a layman, I see the move taken by the ten Gombak voters like this. They alleged that Azmin had deceived them and had gone against his promises made during campaigning for GE14 -- promises which obviously they believed and which probably had prompted them to vote for Azmin.

However, law expert professor Dr Aziz Bari says, "Promises alone are not actionable in law unless there is a consideration as a result. This consideration is a legal concept, not the ordinary meaning of consideration." As Aziz sees it, "Legally I don't think it will succeed because it is not a contract, strictly speaking. I am talking about contract as a strict legal document which may be interpreted as such."

He went on to say that he have not heard of any legal precedents as such, and "I don't think the court is ready to create one now." Nonetheless, the law expert views the move by the ten Gombak voters as "a good try".

When the suit against Azmin news, many welcome it enthusiastically. Take a look at the comment section of news portals and you'll see people embracing the move. In WhatsApp chat rooms we get people calling this as "little small step but a move forward".

There are calls for other voters in other constituencies "to follow Gombak example" because "all politicians must be accountable to their constituents or voters". If the Gombak voters succeed, they say this will be a precedent and there is no need to wait for the next election to punish errant MPs. In the words of a friend, "This is also telling political frogs you switch camp or jump ship mid way, we drag you to court."

As for the suit against Azmin, former PM Mahathir sees the court as the most appropriate forum to verify the plaintiffs' accusations. That's not all, he said. He has offered himself as witness. Not to defend Azmin, obviously. - Mohsin Abdullah

Jari tengah seorang Timbalan Menteri...

Timbalan Menteri Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi, Willie Mongin menafikan beliau menunjukkan jari tengah di Dewan Rakyat sebelum proses pengundian belah bahagi peruntukan untuk kementeriannya bawah Rang Undang-undang (RUU) Perbekalan (Belanjawan) 2021 peringkat jawatankuasa. Beliau yang juga Ahli Parlimen Puncak Borneo menafikan dakwaan itu dan berkata, mungkin Ahli Parlimen yang melihat itu tersalah nampak.

Azmin's coup planned as early as 

October 2019, before Sheraton...

Recently, Azmin Ali has been trying to rewrite history to whitewash his reputation. Don’t be fooled. Azmin was the main architect of the failed coup in October 2019 which was the precursor to the Sheraton coup. Here are the facts for the record.

After Azmin was allegedly implicated in an infamous video scandal that went viral in June 2019, he tried to put together a coalition to deny Anwar Ibrahim his coveted premiership.

Azmin was aided by two other ring leaders: Hamzah Zainuddin and Hishammuddin Hussein. Hamzah brought 15 Umno MPs to defect to Bersatu in February 2019, depleting Umno’s 54 seats to 39. Hishammuddin Hussein was said to control 17 Umno MPs at the time.

Their plan in October 2019 was to engineer a Malay unity government with the addition of Hishammuddin’s group (17), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) (18) and PAS (18) to bring their numbers to 53, the exact number needed to replace Amanah (11) and DAP (42).

The Malay Dignity Congress on Oct 6, 2019, was organised by Hamzah Zainuddin, with Azmin and Hishammuddin running the back end. The subsequent attacks on DAP in the entire month of October were meant to make it untenable for Pakatan Harapan to stay together.

The primary objective of the plan to use the 53 from Hishammuddin’s group, GPS and PAS to replace DAP and Amanah’s 53, was to deprive Anwar the opportunity to be prime minister. Azmin believed that the moment DAP and Amanah were out of the equation, he would be able to control most of the PKR MPs, or that nobody would back Anwar as PM.

On Oct 14, 2019, New Straits Times(NST) published a front-page story of Hishammuddin’s grand idea of building a “Bangsa Malaysia” without DAP and Amanah. It was supposed to be the first salvo fired.

But at that time, Muhyiddin Yassin and Dr Mahathir Mohamad were not keen on such a move. Much as some of us were aware of the Azmin-Hamzah-Hishammudin plot, Azimin (PKR) and Hamzah (Bersatu) were then allies therefore we couldn’t name them. Hishammuddin’s NST article provided a rare chance to expose the plot and stop it.

On Oct 15, 2019, I managed to getHarapan secretary-general Saifuddin Abdullah to agree to sign a joint Majlis Setiausaha statement with the four Harapan secretaries-general: Hatta Ramli (Amanah), Saifuddin Nasution (PKR), Marzuki Yahya (then Bersatu) and Anthony Loke (DAP’s secretary-general is the member of Majlis Presiden while the de facto No. 2, national organising secretary is the leader in Majlis Setiausaha).

To this day I am still puzzled why Saifuddin Abdullah, who is closely associated with Azmin and played such a prominent role in the Sheraton coup, did not hesitate to sign the media statement denouncing the Hishammuddin-Azmin-Hamzah plan. Perhaps he was not privy to the plan at that time.

The Harapan statement was widely published in all major newspapers on Oct 15, 2019, exactly a year ago. I would say that we averted a coup of 53 (Hishammuddin’s group, GPS and PAS) replacing 53 (Amanah and DAP) on that day.

Unfortunately, Harapan failed to avert the next coup on Feb 23, 2020, when Muhyiddin endorsed the plan and Zahid brought the entire Umno bloc to the table and insisted that he was the sole representative speaking for Umno.

By February 2020, with Umno’s full number of 39 MPs on board, their plan was to kick out Anwar’s group in PKR, DAP and Amanah.

The coup plotters assumed that Shafie Apdal’s Warisan and Mahathir would be supportive, and the new Sheraton coup government would govern with at least 125, if not 130 seats. They were stunned when Mahathir and Shafie refused to be associated with the coup.

Since then, the Sheraton coup government could only govern with a majority less than the number of fingers on one hand.

As the nation continues to be affected by the Sheraton coup, more stories to whitewash the conspiracies would emerge. It is time for us to recognise and document what had actually happened. - Liew Chin Tong,mk

Masa Bob Lokman masih sihat kerap juga parti pak Lebai usung dia ke sini sana untuk memeriahkan lagi majlis ceramah politik depa.Tapi bila Bob Lokman ditimpa masalah yang mai tolong bukan Pak Lebai Melayu Islam tapi seorang Cina mualaf,Ebit Liew. Difahamkan kos perubatan Bob Lokman dianggarkan RM 60 ribu. RM 60 ribu tu hanya gaji sebulan Presiden Parti Pak Lebai sebagai Duta Timur tengah bertaraf Menteri..belum lagi elaun Menteri dan GLC yg lain..

Sebenarnya nasib seperti Bob Lokman ni ramai di kalangan ahli2 Parti Bulan Penuh. Depa dijanjikan Syurga atas derma2 depa,maka tak hairan tiap kali ada ceramah tin2 Milo yang diedar keliling dipenuhi dengan ratusan RM...Apa salahnya parti ini ambil tahu sikit masalah Bob seorang ahli tegar yang setia hingga kini. Undi belah bagi hari ini PH kalah dengan nisbah 107 menyokong dan 95 menentang. Namun masih ada beberapa pusingan lagi untuk melakukan undi belah bagi terhadap Bajet di peringkat kementerian. Apa yang nyata both time tak dapat 112 simple majority yang diwar2kan oleh gomen Din. Jadi score kini adalah PN 2 - PH - 0. Tapi ingat...you have to win everytime,but PH only have to win one time to see your backdoor government jatuh tersungkoq!!!.. - dr.ts

Why did Azmin did what he did ?...

Although they have parted ways following the formation of Perikatan Nasional , Datuk Seri Azmin Ali say he still love and respect his former boss Tun Mahathir Mohamad. But not his other former boss Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim whom he say is “a bitter person not only for me but for the whole nation”.

However in the same breath , Azmin went on to “reveal” that the idea to form Perikatan Nasional came from Mahathir himself as a way to make him ( Mahathir ) a prime minister supported by all MPs across all parties.

That is very much different from Mahathir’s version – one which the former prime minister has gone at length to explain many times. In fact he is still giving his side of the story . The salient points being Mahathir said he didn't want to work with corrupted Umno leaders , he was betrayed by people he trusted and he had to quit as prime minister as he had lost support of his own party Bersatu. There are many other things he said but I'll not go into it as it's already public knowledge now.

As for Azmin's “revelation “ (which is lengthy as well ) I'll just state here that among the things he said was statutory declarations from MPs across parties in support of Mahathir as prime minister were presented to the palace before Mahathir's unexpected resignation.  “We were then trying very hard to make sure that Mahathir would continue to serve as prime minister,” Azmin was quoted saying.  

Malaysiakini in reporting the “revelation” made by Azmin correctly pointed out such a move “ was in contravention of the agreement that Mahathir had signed to hand over power to Anwar.” Azmin also spoke about a meeting at the residence of Mahathir at 4 pm on February 23  ( that’s how specified he was)  where Mahathir met presidents of Bersatu,  Umno, PAS, Warisan, GPS and himself who was then partyless after his “departure” from PKR.

Azmin who is now in Bersatu ,also pointed to the Malay Dignity Congress on 6 Oct 2019 attended by many “prominent” Malay leaders except Anwar  - going on to ask  why Mahathir attended it  with Umno and PAS “if he was indeed against working with Umno ”.

Here's the thing. Many people ,not only in the political fraternity but among the general public as well ,have always “felt” the Pakatan Harapan government would not have collapsed had Mahathir not quit as prime minister. And detractors have always “believed” he had “something to do with the political  coup in February” .This despite his time and time again explanation.

And now we have this “revelation “ and as  veteran political writer Mohd Sayuti Omar sees it “ this so called expose by Azmin is shocking and could very well confirmed what many people have been saying all this while “.

 But say Sayuti , the question now is why did Azmin do it ? “ Its as if this is deliberately brought up to rile up Pakatan Harapan in particular PKR as Azmin see Mahathir is not ready to give open support to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the Perikatan Nasional government. Instead Mahathir is still leaning towards the opposition ,” say the political writer .

Some political observers opine its “surprising” that while Muhyididn have not or did not “touch” on Mahathir at all , Azmin somehow saw it fit to do so. Maybe the Bersatu president has left it to Azmin to take up the matter they say , and perhaps take the flak for doing so. Which Azmin is getting a lot now from many quarters particularly from Mahathir’s Pejuang and PKR .

Whatever the reason say one observer “ it showed that the Bersatu leadership still felt Mahathir footprints in Bersatu and wanted to dispel any blame on their part in in the events which forced Mahathir out of the party”.

Incidently Azmin’s “revelation “ was made in a special interview with The Star newspaper which was published during Bersatu’s recent AGM where the party  among others , amended its constitution to abolish the chairman post. Need we be reminded the chairman post was held by Mahathir when he formed Bersatu.

Another political observer say the blame game by Azmin was clearly meant to make it look like Muhyididn was forced to lead Bersatu and the country ,that he had no choice as Mahathir had resigned . But Azmin went further by depicting Mahathir as the brains behind Perikatan Nasional when the “facts” all this while show Mahathir was against working with Umno en bloc.

Mahathir has been rather kind in his comments about Azmin especially in his role in the Sheraton Move  but say the political observer “ Mahathir may now rethink of his opinion about Azmin “.

As I write this Mahathir has not responded to the “revelations or allegations” if you like ,made by Azmin. Mahathir has said on record that he was open to working again with Muhyididn – subject to conditions and now political observers tells me  “  he may make Azmin a factor in those conditions”. - Mohsin Abdullah
