Regina Soosalu - polis masih menunggu laporan bedah siasat...

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah negeri, Datuk Hasnan Hassan berkata, polis masih menunggu laporan bedah siasat bagi mengetahui punca sebenar kematian Regina Soosalu, 29.

Murdered model’s friends set up Facebook page in her memory...

Friends of murdered Estonian model Regina Soosalu (pic) have created a Facebook page in her memory, following the discovery of her body on Pulau Rawa, an island off the east coast of Johor, on July 1.

The page, In Loving Memory of Regina Soosalu 7/Dec/1984-1/Jul/2014, was created last Wednesday and has since received 1,558 “likes”.

“The page is fully contributed to the remembrance of Regina Soosalu, on how she lived as a loving, caring, fun and beautiful person that we all love,” the page’s creators wrote.

The page is full of modelling photos of Regina as well as pictures of her with friends.

Two videos, one by Vision Studio entitled “Remembering Regina” and another by a friend known as Jeremy Z consisting of still photos, were also shared on the page.

Family, friends and strangers alike have written on the page to convey their condolences. Her brother Aivar Raidla posted a picture of a postcard Soosalu made for her mother.

“Regina’s last self made (sic) postcard to mom…” he wrote.

Facebook user Matt Cho described Regina as a “cool cat” whom he met in Bangkok.

“Even though we hadn’t seen each other since the old Bangkok days, we all had such a (sic) epic time back then that those memories are imprinted forever.

“Always enjoyed bumping into you at castings too,” wrote Cho.

Soosalu was initially thought to have drowned but the wounds on her body led to police reclassifying her death as murder.

A friend of hers told The Star that Soosalu may have been heavily involved in drugs, and suggested this may have been why she spent a lot of time at Pulau Rawa with her boyfriend, Tunku Alang Reza Tunku Ibrahim.

Soosalu, 29, and Tunku Alang Reza, 28, had been involved in a drug case earlier this year and were charged in the Magistrate's Court on May 12 with possession of 5.84g of cannabis, The Star reported.

The couple pleaded not guilty and were released after paying RM7,000 in bail.

Soosalu’s boyfriend, who has links to a member of a royal family, was detained with six others by police to assist in investigations.

All of the suspects who have been arrested so far in connection with the model’s murder were believed to have been on Pulau Rawa when Soosalu’s body was discovered.

The police are now awaiting the laboratory results before deciding what further action to take, according to The Star.

Soosalu’s body would only be released to her family in Estonia after investigations were completed.

The case has attracted national interest, and comes on the heels of a separate case involving a British tourist whose body was found last month on Tioman Island after he went missing while hiking in the jungle. – tmi

Kenapa siasat saya, kata Sanjeevan selepas dedahkan skandal seks pegawai polis...

– tmi

Sanjeevan probed for cop sex scandal allegation...

Anti-crime NGO MyWatch chief R Sanjeevan said he is being probed by the police over his allegation of a sex scandal involving an unnamed senior cop with a distinguished royal title.

In a statement today, Sanjeevan revealed that the inspector general police secretariat (disciplinary department) based in Bukit Aman in a letter on Tuesday also requested he should hand over all evidence on the allegation within 14 days to facilitate investigation.

"Why is the (alleged perpetrator) not being investigated but instead I am the one being investigated?" he asked

The letter to Sanjeevan (right) said the matter is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA).

It referred in particular to MyWatch's website where the sex scandal allegation first surfaced last month.

Section 509 of the Penal Code provides for up to five years imprisonment, a fine or both against anyone who intends to insult the modesty of a person and carries out that intention in a way that is seen or heard by other people.

Section 233 of the CMA concerns improper use of network facilities or network services, and provides for a fine of up to RM50,000, a jail term not exceeding one year or both.

'Going after whistleblower'

Sanjeevan decried the move as an alleged attempt to cover up the accused cop's alleged sex scandal and to expose his source of information.

"I believe the investigation under Section 509 of the Penal Code is to prevent me from exposing the sex scandal..."

"It is also intended to find out who the 'whistleblower' who leaked the information to me and MyWatch," he said.

Sanjeevan added he was concerned that his evidence would be destroyed if he hands it over to the police.

"If I hand over all documentary evidence about the sex scandal to the police, I believe all the evidence will be destroyed and this case will be classified as 'no further action' (NFA) as is with the case with many high profile cases," he said.

He added Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should weigh in on the matter.

Last month, Sanjeevan raised his allegation of the said sex scandal and demanded for government assurance that action would be taken before he would reveal the details.- mk
