Anwar turns down Najib's offer of olive branch........

During his mini budget presentation of the second stimulus package recently, Najib Razak extended his hands to the opposition to work together to overcome the economic impasse.

Najib said, “Recently, there have been increasing calls by the rakyat for the Government and the Opposition to set aside political differences and focus on the economy. I personally acknowledge these calls and therefore, I urge all parties, including our friends on both sides of the aisle, and every Malaysian to work together and strive harder to build a better Malaysia on the basis of a strong and sustainable growth path.”

Asking for Anwar Ibrahim and Najib Razak to 'shake hands' and work together for the sake of the country appears to benefit Najib and the BN/Umno regime more than the country itself. You see folks, by asking for a truce, the rakyat will actually be letting Najib and his gang of Criminals from BN/Umno off the hook.

This has always been the problem with Malaysians. We have grown to be apathetic to an extent that we are unwilling to sacrifice ourselves for our so-called peace and prosperity which has long been BN/Umno's Mantra to ensure that it gets returned to power for the last 52 years.

Just imagine if Pakatan Rakyat and Anwar accepts the suggestion and 'shake hands' with Najib, what happens to Raja Petra, Altantuya, Kugan, the Hindraf 5, the ISA Detainees. Who is going to speak or stand up for them?

What about the many abuses linked to Najib and the Evil BN/Umno regime. Should Pakatan Rakyat and all Malaysians be oblivious to all these?

Should we as Malaysians forgive Najib and BN/Umno for their sins and move on with our lives for the sake of this country's 'peace and prosperity'?

What about the coup d'etat in Perak? Shall we allow this illegal power grab by Najib and Umno to go on?

It's time for us to take a reality check. You're either with the Rakyat, who want change and want it now, or be a fence sitter preaching the BN/Umno Mantra of Peace and Prosperity. The choice is yours brother.

Meanwhile, Anwar Ibrahim rejected the call by Najib Razak to unite with the government in implementing the RM60 billion stimulus package.Anwar questioned Najib’s sincerity when the latter offered cooperation with the opposition in order to face the global economic crisis.

Najib Razak had also urged the opposition to set aside the political differences and focus on the economy.

Describing Najib as someone “offering an olive branch, but at the same time pointing a keris at the people”, Anwar said that there was no point “in cooperating with someone who is deaf”.

“Everyone is mesmerised with the amount of the package,” he said, but how can Najib convince the people when he is “polluted with so many controversies?”

“The person who offers this olive branch should be thrown at with a durian instead,” he said, drawing cheers from the opposition side.

This he said, is contrary to what late second prime minister Abdul Razak Hussein - who was also Najib’s father - had done during his tenure when he offered unity with opposition party PAS back then.

"When he (Razak) offered unity government with PAS, he had stopped wild allegations in the media, offered negotiations, and he also offered the olive branch publicly and sincerely to the opposition.

“But when it comes to his son, he is blind to what is happening in the country,” Anwar said, further accusing Najib of being “in denial” when many foreign investors had stopped coming into Malaysia.

“Only yesterday and weeks before that, Najib seemed to be taken aback with the reality of this economic crisis,” he said.

Out of the RM 60 billion, about RM 29 billion is earmarked for financing the private sector, especially the UMNO related and crony companies. Do you think the gomen is honest in helping the poor rakyat............

cheers.
