Beliau berkata demikian sebagai mengulas gesaan Noh supaya Khalid meletak jawatan jika gagal mengambil alih Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) menjelang September nanti.

Why hasn't Noh quit over cows and condo?...

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has hit out at Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Noh Omar for remaining in his position despite the high-profile RM250 million National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal which involved the ministry.

Anwar had turned the tables on Noh after the latter had said Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim should resign if he fails to resolve the state's water woes.

NONE“Noh Omar (right) had not resigned because of the cows and condo matter for which he is responsible, so why he is nosing around asking people to resign?” he said at a press conference in Shah Alam last night.

The National Feedlot Centre project, which was intended to be the country’s beef valley, has been plagued by controversy after its primary company, which is owned by Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s husband Mohamed Salleh Ismail and children, was accused of misappropriating part of its RM250 million loan on luxury properties and holidays.

Responding to Malay rights group Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali’s call for Anwar to clarify whether he was a member of the Freemasons secret fraternity, the Permatang Pauh  dismissed the matter as slander.

“It’s to gain election capital.. In this holy month of Ramadan, he as a Muslim should stop slandering people,” he said.

Anwar’s aide Najwan Halimi had yesterday responded to the allegation, saying that the Anwar Ibrahim listed as a member of the Freemasons was a case of mistaken identity and the real person was in fact a “pot-bellied Arab man”.

On a separate matter, Anwar said Pakatan Rakyat will be looking into whether it would be supporting the planned ‘Janji Bersih’ rally by groups associated with electoral reform group Bersih.

“Our council had last week already decided to have our Merdeka celebration at Shah Alam at around the same time but we will look into this and see how we can coordinate with them,” he said.- malaysiakini

Call your boss to resign too, Noh told...

Selangor Menteri Besar's political secretary Faekah Hussin shot back at Agriculture and Agro-based minister Noh Omar's call for her boss's resignation, saying Noh should likewise demand the resignation of deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin if the latter fails to conclude the negotiation on the state’s water restructuring plan this September.

“Maybe Noh thinks that the takeover process is like the prawn-farming project,” chided Faekah, referring to a controversial prawn farming project in Tanjong Karang in which Noh has a stake, prompting accusations of conflict of interest.

Noh earlier called for Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim’s resignation if he failed to take over Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SYABAS) by September, as promised.

Muhyiddin, who heads a cabinet Committee on Selangor water, has given approval for Selangor state government to embark on its holistic water restructuring exercise in accordance with the Water Services Industry Act 2006.

The move would require the state government to take over water concession companies in Selangor.

Faekah said Khalid had been adhering to the WSIA for the restructuring exercise but faced hurdles after BN-backed water concessionaires such as Puncak Niaga and SYABAS rejected the state’s offer of RM9.3 billion or 25 percent profit in the takeover.

“(They) demanded for compensation at 75 percent profit,” she added.

Faekah said Noh should demand for Muhyiddin’s resignation if the water restructuring negotiation could not be concluded by September.
She further added that Noh appeared to be sabotaging Muhyiddin in this water issue.

"This is just like how he shifted the entire National Feedlot Corporation fiasco to Muhyiddin," she said, referring to how Noh had recently passed the buck on the delay in the new tender for scandal-ridden National Feedlot Centre to the UMNO deputy president recently.-harakahdaily
