'Harga' sentuhan payu dara Nikita RM226,000 saja ...

“Itukan mak nyah, bukan lelaki asli,” katanya.

- mk

- Harvard profs say M'sia education policies fail to filter down to students
- Msian grads equated to Danish high school dropouts
- Harvard prof Lant Pritchett found Indon similar to M'sia
- grads in Indon same as junior high school dropouts in Denmark

(Ostb : Prof Pritchett has just made the Education Ministry's job even easier. Now they will benchmark our education system against Indonesia !! Well two million Indons work here as house maids and labourers. Yesterday I had a mind freaking time at a construction site with an Indon supervisor. They balanced a four ton back hoe tractor on a half dry cement wall. The wall crumbled.  Please benchmark ourselves against the best in the world for example Singapore or Denmark. Please dont benchmark Malaysia with the Indons, the Saudis or the Zimbabwes. That is the easy way out.)

- reason is students leave school without mastering subjects
- they reach tertiary (level), left far behind
- no deep understanding of materials
- rote memorisation, applying theory, regurgitating exams

(Ostb : But they have Hysteria Kits at University Malaysia Pahang. They can build a grave inside a school compound to remind them of death. When they grow up they can have 'Tandas Muslimin'. Even when they reach Oxford or Cambridge they surf porn. Or they can join ISIS. Or they can get jobs at the jabatan agama. Or they can become Cabinet Ministers.)

- real measure of education is mastery of subject with practical application
- system should redefine role of education
- are children emerging from school adequate for 21st century

(Ostb :  Well at the MRSM Ulil Al Bab campuses the kids practise shooting arrows from horseback. They want to emulate the early Arabs. This is very 21st century. This will prepare the MRSM Ulil Al Bab kids to become extras in Sylvester Stallone's next film 'Back to Afghanistan Again'. Yup they will be adequate for the 21st century.)

- Harvard Prof Woolcock said big challenge is make system work for everybody
- European system worked well for 200 years
- good traditional practice
- students learn critical thinking skills, apply what they learn
- Woolcock spent 18 months researching Malaysian education system.

(Ostb : After 18 months of serious research, Harvard Prof Woolcock has given Ostb a sneak preview of his research findings on the Malaysian education system. Here it is :

1. Dumb and dumber
2. Idiocracy
3. Bodoh nak mampos
4. Export of labourers to Singapore increasing

End of sneak preview. No 4 is real ok, many Malays are now working as labourers in Singapore. Many Chinese and Indians are working as managers in Singapore.)

- 51% of  lower classes, factory workers, cannot read manuals
- cannot do basic procedures
- unable to apply theory or understand English

(Ostb : Never mind. They can become peneroka. UMNO can keep them there as their vote bank. They need the unthinking people to keep voting for this gomen. If they can apply theory or understand too much English then they will become like OutSyed The Box. Can you imagine how much headache and havoc that will cause?))

- English a big barrier
- biggest barriers was English
- Europeans are good at English and native language
- in Iceland everyone speaks Icelandic and English
- They learn English to do deals with Italians, Spaniards

(Ostb : So what? Who gives a sh_t? They dont speak English in heaven. What is the use of learning English if you are going to heaven.)

- Better tracking system
- Malaysia needs system to track why schools perform better or worse

(Ostb :  Tamil primary schools are now tops in the country in Mathematics and Science. Chinese schools are producing all round high achievers. They are also tops in Mathematics, Science, English and ethics for their students. Yup Chinese schools have changed tremendously. So what is the solution? Shut down Tamil and Chinese schools. Then the problem is solved. The gomen schools dont have to be embarrassed by the Chinese and Tamil schools.)

Conclusion :  The Harvard professors have been studying the Malaysian Education system for 18 months. These are Harvard professors. Do you think the Ministry of Education will read their report or study their research findings or implement their recommendations? I dont think so.

There is no money in such things. They would rather pay Mcshitty another RM1 billion for another education blueprint and  makan some kickbacks. Or go to Boston for the Power Point presentation. And sneak out to go shopping.  That would be more fun.- ostb

- mk

The Malay Tsunami...

Many pollsters, economists, experts and scholars believe that the Barisan Nasional led by Datuk Seri Najib Razak will win the next General Election easily. Some even predict a two-thirds BN majority in Parliament, halting the gains that the Opposition has made over the past three elections. They may be experts but they are all wrong.

No country in the world with leaders who have taken money from public coffers — as much as RM3 billion — can win a re-election. Has there been a kleptocracy that has won a democratic election with a two-thirds majority? I have not heard of such a thing. Why then are the experts writing off the chances of the Opposition in Malaysia?

The answer is simply that these experts do not think much of Malaysians as a people. They do not believe Malaysians care at all about kleptocracy or about massive corruption. They think we are a bunch of buffoons who will be happy to receive some crumbs near polling day and we will return the current leaders to power.

These experts do not think much of Muslims in Malaysia, who are the majority of voters. They think our Islamisation policy is totally superficial and totally ineffective at instilling the right religious values amongst Muslims here. They think Malaysian Muslims do not care about integrity and honesty, and can be easily duped by their leaders with the promise of “hudud” and subsidised trips to Mecca, which will cause them to forget all about injustice and corruption.

These experts do not think much about Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. They think Malays have forgotten the many things he has done for them. The experts think Tun Dr Mahathir has no more influence and that he is just an angry old man who cannot match the firepower and ruthless machinations of the Prime Minister. They think he only has nuisance-value.

These experts do not think much of Malaysia’s three million civil servants. They think that these civil servants—frequently subjected to raids for corrupt practices—are still a solid voting block for UMNO. To them, these civil servants do not feel ashamed to serve a Government that is full of lies and hypocrisy. They think these civil servants have no sympathy for their colleagues who have been sacked, dismissed or demoted for wanting to do a professional job.

These experts think civil servants do not care if Government money is used for the personal luxuries of BN leaders. In other words, they think the Malays who comprise the bulk of the service are a bunch of fools who tolerate being berated for stealing money from the people although politicians are spared such accusations.

These experts do not think that the people will retaliate when their land is taken away for high-rise buildings and mega-projects, or when food prices rise to sky-high levels. These experts believe that people will stay loyal to the BN despite facing daily financial problems caused by high prices and by low wages. These experts think people will accept that this is their fate and will continue to be indebted to the Government and will stay grateful forever.

These experts are all wrong. Malays are waiting for the election to come sooner rather than later. There will be such a huge Malay tsunami against the BN that Najib and company won’t even know what hit them.

Malay voters do not answer questionnaires. They do not want BN and UMNO operators to cause them problems, so they pretend that they support UMNO—but change is in the air. A huge swing of voters to the Opposition is in the offing and we will have a new Government after GE14.

The Opposition’s campaign is not about race or religion. It’s simply about how much humiliation people can suffer at the hands of those in power. The coming General Election will be a contest between the needs of ordinary Malaysians against the interests of the greedy and unscrupulous.

Never has an election been held in this country when the issues have been so clear cut. Do not feel intimidated by the predictions of experts. The people will win this contest.

To my Chinese readers and friends, Gong Xi fa Chai .Please accept our best wishes, and a happy and prosperous New Year. Do not be disheartened that in the last three general election, the opposition had fallen short, and Ini Kali la was another hollow shout from a grieving electorate. Your continued support is necessary for a more peaceful and prosperous Malaysia. - zaid ibrahim

EC using ‘backdoor’ to change boundaries...

Penang Institute has shown examples of "hard evidence" of the Electoral Commission's (EC) alleged sustaining and worsening malapportionment of parliamentary and state assembly seats in view of the coming general election.

The state think-tank has conducted a thorough analysis to examine the constitutional compliance of the EC's recommendation for 165 parliamentary and 445 state constituencies.

While presenting the report, PI researcher Wong Chin Huat said the EC's recommendations were found to be flawed in two major ways.

"They are sustaining non-compliance with Sub-section 2(c) and causing non-compliance with Sub-section 2(c)," Wong claimed.

Sub-section 2(c) of the 13th Schedule of the Federal Constitution states that the number of voters in each constituency ought to be approximately equal.

This should prevail, unless there is greater difficulty of reaching voters and other disadvantages facing rural constituencies.

Wong explained that non-compliance is defined as deviation from the state average by more than 33.33 percent.

Evidence of non-compliance

Wong said the EC's redelineation should comprise two steps: (a) identifying instances of non-compliance and (b) proposing boundary changes to correct or reduce such instances of non-compliance.

However, PI's studies have shown that 38 state seats remained over-represented in Kedah (1), Kelantan (3), Penang (2), Perak (1), Pahang (6), Selangor (11) and Negeri Sembilan (6) and Johor (8), he said.

The report showed that EC has sustained under-representation in 40 state seats in Kedah (2), Kelantan (2), Terengganu (2), Penang (5), Perak (4), Pahang (4), Selangor (1), Negeri Sembilan (3), Malacca (3) and Johor (14).

"One seat in Johor was near average in size of voters but after EC's recommendation, it has increased by more than 33.3 percent (over-representation)," Wong noted.

"Likewise, eight state seats - Perak (2), Selangor (4), and Malacca (2) were near average size but after EC's redelineation, they have become over-represented by 33.3 percent, " he added.

He cited examples in Bukit Lanjan, Selangor (held by PKR's Elizabeth Wong) and Kajang (held by PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail), which were near average size but are now over-represented after the EC's redelineation.

"For example, in Kuala Lumpur, the EC recommendations would change Lembah Pantai's electorate from being just above average to being undersized by more than 10 percent," Wong said.

"The EC must be accountable to all these instances of non-compliance and make public its reason to do so," he added.

He was responding to the Court of Appeal decision on Jan 10, which ruled that voters cannot get information from the Election Commission on how it arrived at the process of redelineation.

Sustaining non-compliance in Penang

Wong said the institution's analysis showed the EC "did not touch" Penang but has sustained oversized representation in Paya Terubong, Batu Maung and Batu Uban.

It has also sustained under-sized seats such as Air Putih and Balik Pulau, without giving any reason to do so.

"EC should identify the problematic areas and correct them, instead of not giving any recommendation at all," Wong said.

It was also revealed that the EC's recommendation worsened the over-representation in three parliamentary constituencies in Selangor.

The three parliamentary constituencies were constitutionally compliant (having the right size of voters) before the EC recommendations.

The ideal size is to find the average number of voters for each state.

"Why make things worse, why doesn't the EC correct what is wrong?" Wong asked.

Make grounds for redelineation known

Wong said the EC should reveal its grounds for redelineation as it is not reasonable to expect the public to "second guess" EC's considerations and give it benefits of doubt.

"Only with EC revealing its grounds for its recommendations, the public may access the constitutionality of these recommendations," Wong said.

"Without making known its grounds, it would appear that the EC is helping BN stay in power," he added.

Other research fellows involved in the report were Toh Kin Woon, Yeong Pey Jung, Nidhal Mujahid and Ooi Kok Hin.- mk

Dr.M : Biaq pi lah kalu saya dituduh penderhaka,tuduhlah...

Pembangunan Johor Baru...

Dapatkan kemahiran, bukan jual tanah

Usah berselindung.

"Ya, kita menggalakkan orang luar menjadikan Malaysia rumah kedua mereka. Tetapi jumlahnya sangat kecil. Pandang Ke Timur bukan mengenai perpindahan ratusan ribu orang. Ia mengenai Malaysia belajar bagaimana negara timur membangunkan diri mereka," katanya.

Image may contain: 1 person, text

- mk

Dr M replies on Forest City issue...

I DON’T know if it is true about HRH the Sultan of Johor throwing a challenge to me over the development of Johor Baru.

Maybe it is only The Star which is interpreting what HRH says as a challenge to me. But unless HRH denies he is challenging me, I will take the report of The Star as the truth.

I admit I am at a disadvantage here. While people can say what they like about me, and I welcome their freedom to say so, I hope that in responding to HRH’s challenge I will not be arrested and jailed without trial.

If it is with trial, I welcome the arrest.

Now, what did I say? Nothing more than repeating a report by Bloomberg in the press. But I appreciate why Bloomberg is not challenged nor denied.

What did Bloomberg say in its report on Nov 22 last year?

It said that a China Chinese company will build Forest City in JB which can accommodate 700,000. It went on to say that planeloads of China Chinese are being flown in to view the man-sized model (with pictures) and they have and will buy most of the properties in Forest City.

I doubt if many Johor Malays and Chinese are buying or going to buy these apartments. There just aren’t that many Malaysians to buy all these properties.

Bloomberg, in the same report, mentioned 60 other developments similar to Forest City, and these are also being sold to mainland Chinese.

Looking back to 1819, when Sultan Ali of Johor did not lease Singapore to the British, the Temenggong signed the lease. And look at Singapore today. A part of Johor is now a foreign country – well developed no doubt, but a foreign country.

There will be in all more than a million foreigners living in JB Forest City and the 60 other developments. These new places will not become a foreign country but they will have an inordinate percentage of foreign people. If they stay long enough, they will be entitled to become citizens of Malaysia.

Yes, I promoted foreign direct investment. But it was not about buying land in Malaysia, developing them and selling them to foreigners who will stay here.

FDI is about investment in the manufacturing industry. Malaysian companies will construct the building and Malaysians will work in the industries. They will acquire skills and start their own manufacturing business.

Malaysian contractors are completely capable of building all kinds of buildings and develop land. We don’t need foreigners to do this. Look at Malaysia today. Ninety per cent or more of these new buildings and development are by Malaysian companies. Majority of the buyers are Malaysians, and they are the people who stay there.

Image may contain: one or more people, outdoor and text

But when foreigners buy land, there is not even an inflow of capital. Much of the money will be borrowed locally. And they can do their business with their own banks.

Whatever foreign companies earn will be expatriated, and will result in outflow of capital. When the scheme is introduced wherein you can buy property in China and get one flat or house free in Malaysia, no profit will be made in Malaysia, therefore no taxes will be paid to the Malaysian Government.

Let all transactions be transparent. Publish all documents about the investments, the number of workers, their home countries, the buyers, the banks which finance and all expatriation of funds. Do this honestly. No hiding.

So let the truly international Transparency International examine the exposed official documents. Let the people see the documents to prove their genuineness.

Looking East is not about asking the countries of the East to buy land in Malaysia, develop and sell to the people from these countries. Yes, we have encouraged foreigners to make Malaysia their second home. But their numbers are very small. Looking East is not about mass immigration of hundreds of thousands. It is about Malaysians learning about how these Eastern countries developed themselves.

It is easy to accuse me of being a racist. I have been called a Malay ultra before.

This labelling, this demonising actually exposes the lack of credible arguments against what I do or say. It reflects a fundamental lack of basis for the arguments against me.

Image result for bloomberg - forest city johor

This is a multiracial country. People of different ethnicity, language, religion, culture and even economic wellbeing have lived in this country in peace.

In many countries, even a slight difference in the interpretation of their common religion has resulted in violent conflicts and wars. But relatively speaking, Malaysia is stable and peaceful.

It is stable and peaceful because we accept each other as we are. During my 22 years as PM, there were no significant racial clashes. Differences, yes, but no violence. And the country grew.

Had I been a racist, my period would have seen turmoil and regression in this country.

You can dispute what I say. That is your democratic right.

I dare The Star to publish what I say in full. It is a measure of the Government fear of the truth that the mainstream media is strictly controlled.

I will accept this article being totally blacked-out because we are living in a kleptocratic country where truth is anathema, only to be whispered but never said aloud.

I am a Malaysian born in Kedah. Malaysia is my home and the object of my loyalty. If I have to be accused of lese majeste for what I say, so be it. - Dr. Mahathir Mohamad

Anonymous - I salute you Tun.We need more Malaysians like you, Tun. This small country of ours has been "trampled" by many foreign powers - the Dutch, Portuguese, British, Japanese, Refugees, Illegal Immigrants, idiotic dirty-looking Mullahs from problematic countries and NOW THE CHINESE FROM MAINLAND CHINA...

Malay politicians will never learn from history. To them money speaks and their pockets must be filled with money. Many of them own homes and properties overseas. They are ready to leave anytime when this country of ours is ruined not only by foreigners entering this country but also the rampant corruption, religious fanatics and many other social problems.

Bila lagi kita rakyat Malaysia mahu sedar? BILA? Janganlah terlalu kolot sangat pemikiran kita... Jangan jadi macam Pak Kadok...'Menang sorak kampung tergadai'...

A perfect storm is forming around the Malaysian ringgit, as its value remains at risk from a protracted economic slump aggravated by a domestic political scandal and the prospect of rising US interest...

But the distress does not stop there, as a currency sell-off in Malaysia could have a contagious financial spillover on neighbouring economies, sparking capital outflows and compounding financial volatility.

The value of the ringgit has nosedived dramatically over the past two years, along with investors' confidence in the government of Prime Minister Najib Razak. Mr Najib has been fighting tooth-and-nail to block any serious domestic investigations of the heavily indebted 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), which is being investigated in six other countries for dubious investments and opaque financial transactions.

At 4.48 per dollar, the ringgit has touched its lowest level since the Asian financial crisis in 1998 and was Asia's worst-performing currency for emerging markets in 2016. Continue Reading...

Between 1998 to 2016, India's foreign reserves have jumped 12 times. South Korea's have jumped 7 times. Thailand is 6 times. Malaysia is the least,  increased 3.7 times only.  Finally Bangkok Post says : 'transparency in government is vital in shoring up investment sentiment'

Malaysia is now known as a kleptocracy. The US DOJ said it plainly that MOI is a thief. The US DOJ said, they used public funds like their "personal piggy bank".

The country is led by a person who is recognised as being a thief.

The Ringgit will crash further because this person is still in power. I think that is what the Bangkok Post is saying. - ostb

Cina China lagi untung daripada Cina Malaysia...

Di China kalu rasuah, hukumnya tembak sampai mampuih
Malaysia berani buat begitu kah...

One of the first tasks of a non-BN federal government

Najib ‘stole’ from 1MDB and
Singapore Government knows it...

It was reported on this blog last year, based on statements in BSI banker Yak Yew Chee’s sworn affidavit that documents in the publiv domain showed that the Singapore Government would have known exactly who it was who transferred USD 681 million to PM Najib, and known that the funds were from 1 MDB.

Now comes the revelation from the Government’s own DPP concerning the true identity of Eric Tan Kim Loong:

At the meeting, Mr Tan re-introduced himself as “Jho Low” and told Sturzenegger that he used the name “Eric Tan” occasionally for security reasons.

It was at this meeting that he realised that the “Eric Tan” he had been communicating with — through erickimloong.tan@gmail.com and over the phone — was in fact Mr Jho Low, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Jacky Leong.

Sturzenegger also knew that Eric Tan was not merely an alias but a real person after he saw a copy of Mr Tan’s passport and curriculum vitae as part of the account-opening process.

It would not have taken Singapore authorities too long to figure out that Jho Low’s false identity (more likely than not ,Malaysian) was provided courtesy of the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs and its minister ,Deputy PM Zahid Hamidi, and that he would have acted under PM Najib’s instructions. That all this was done to enable the 1MDB theft would have been blindingly obvious.- Ganesh Sahathevan

Probably the last man Dr M
would want to mess with...

At his height of political power, Dr Mahathir Mohamad almost beat the Raja2 Melayu to a pulp. Using a battery incident involving a member of the Johor Royaly as an excuse, he took on the entire Royal institution and, aided by two of his biggest allies in Utusan Malaysia and New Straits Times, brought the institution to its knees during the 1990s - and his own prowess to a dizzying peak.

"(Mahathir) has forgotten many things he has done." - Sultan of Johor

Tuanku Ibrahim Iskandar was in his 30s then, not even heir apparent to the Johor throne yet, but his dislike for Mahathir was well known to those close to him then as it is now.

Over the weekend, he openly displayed his disgust with the former Prime Minister yet again, albeit ever so politely and regal.

“During his tenure as prime minister, he was asking Malaysians to Look East but now he is criticising when Chinese investors come here to invest.” - Sultan Ibrahim

Make no mistake: Dr M is not down or out; on the contrary, he's at the height of his post-premiership political power. He's set up a new political party and seems to have the opposing parties in the Opposition in his pockets.

But up against a Sultan who has the whole Bangsa Johor behind him, Tuanku Ibrahim may be the last man Dr M would want to mess with right now. I do hope the Tun's advisors can tell him that it would be wise not to rile the Sultan further.

Might even be a good idea to do another U-turn, but...rocky bru
