Sapa yang kena panggil minggu ini?...

Probably all would have known that Daim refused to cooperate and make the statutory asset declaration required by MACC Act. After five extensions and 10 months, something would have turned up on their Pandora Paper investigation. Its only a week yet few interesting finding came our way.

The subject today is not about Daim or Mahathir, but its an obvious signal that the reform for good governance and tatakelola will commence immediately on the first working day of 2024.  Utusan Malaysia leaked news yesterday that MACC is moving in on two ex-PMs and their Principal Secretary.

Comments : One can only suspect Muhyiddin and his Principal Private Secretary, Dr Marzukhi or Ismail Sabri and his Principal Private Secretary, Nazimah Hashim. She is infamous for many reasons - some fair, some unfair, and some unsure. The most controversial is the rumour with regard to her half-brother, which could be a shocker for the next change at a theater near you.

Comment : Based on this description, it could be more Muhyiddin and his childten and son-in-law than Ismail's family. However, to be fair, not much is heard of Puan Sri Norainee or Datin Muhaini indulging in businesses or flaunting their wealth.

Comments : Ismail established Yayasan Keluarga Malaysia but it is under the auspices of the PM Department and he was never reported to be the patron.

It is unlike Muhyiddin who is the Patron of Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf Foundation (TSM Golf). Both are foundations carrying out activities for a good cause but in 2020, an executive of Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen and her husband were charged for money laundering.

And, Adam Radlan the PPBM Division Chief for Segambut was charged for Jana Wibawa and he is a member of the Board of Trustee of TSM Golf.

“Ahli Parlimen di sebuah negeri Pantai Timur dan orang kanannya mungkin akan dipanggil SPRM minggu hadapan bagi membantu siasatan di bawah Akta Pencegahan Pengubahan Wang Haram, Pencegahan Pembiayaan Keganasan dan Hasil Daripada Aktiviti Haram (AMLATFPUAA) 2001 dan Akta SPRM 2009,” katanya.

Comment : The mere mention of a member of Parliament from a East Coast peninsular state points to the PAS controlled state of Kelantan, and Terengganu or BN governed state of Pahang.

Had it mentioned a former member of Parliament, one suspect could be the confidante to Ismail Sabri, Tan Sri Annuar Musa. He is  already worried with the Menara Kuala Lumpur case about to go to trial and his name implicated. Maybe it is not a former MP.

MP Putrajaya YB.
Radzi Jidin.

One East Coast politician close to Muhyiddin in Bersatu, but now represeting Putrajaya, is Radzi Jidin. It could also be Takiyuddin Hasan, Secretary General of PAS and leading the Publika Gang.

A myriad of possibilities but high time PAS leaders are charged for corruption or money laundering. Firstly itnhas been rampant in Kelantan for decades but left unscathed. However, two by-elections held because their win were nullified by money politics.

Why is he jumpy and reacting before Daim? Is he asking to investigate Tengku Tun Maimon too?  The million dollar question is,When will MACC start investigating Mahathir???

– UTUSAN

Comments : As of the news today, the case has been forwarded by PDRM to MACC. In Parliament, Anwar revealed Muhyiddin spent RM500 million on advertising, promotion and publicity for the government, while Ismail spent only RM200 million but not fully used up.

MACC will have to question Muhyiddin's Strategic Communication Director, Dato Ainon Mohamed who apparently the talk among media player remain in control of the budget during Ismail Sabri's tenure and was dictating the then Strategic Communication Director, Dato Ruhaidini.

Recently surfaced that the controversial Awesome TV was funded by Ilyas of Serba Dinamik. The PLC was supposed to be charged for fraud but let off with mere fines during Ismail's Premiership. They were the one reason foreign investors shunned Bursa for its questionable governance or tatakelola. Securities Commission failed and market claimed the officers are corrupted!

To pen off for now, the swift action of MACC indicate it is certainly too late not only for Daim, Mahathir and former PMs, but also those involved in the Dubai Move. - thick as a brick

This is our PMX.They are not there
to make money for themselves!...

If there is anything to be said about PMX and this Unity Government, it is this: they are not in government to make money for themselves. Call them greenhorns and novices at doing government. Tell them that they need to be more street-savvy and knowledgeable about the ins and outs of navigating the complexities and intricacies of the civil service aka the deep state. And if you are moved to say so, you can even say that his ministers of being overshadowed by the presence of PMX  - the alpha male that dominates the pack. All that may be true in parts if not in total, but let it not be said that PMX or any of the men and women, who are now in the Madani government, are in it, for the money! And for that, after Mahathir, Abang Lah, Najib, Mahathir, Muhyiddin, and Ismail Sabri....for that, we all need to give praise to Allah, and to PMX, that we now have such a government, the Madani government,  in place in Putrajaya.

And this is possible because the alpha male, PMX himself, is above suspicion.

You can tell PMX to his face that he has been spending too much time making state visits to places abroad. You can ask him what is he doing converting people in KL and New York  when he should place himself above the fray as he should be a PMX to people of all beliefs. You can ask him to be a bit more reticent, understanding, and gracious  when answering questions put to him by an Indian schoolgirl. And if you must, you can question his commitment to the very people who have elected him to office because he seems to be reaching out, time and time again, to the very people who have told him that they did not want him to be PMX while ignoring the very people who have elected him to office. And, again all this is in parts, true, but it is also very true that this PMX is not in government, for the money.

There you have it - after decades of self-serving prime ministers whose time in office has been spent making money for themselves, if not for their families, cronies, friends and anyone else on the gravy train, we now have Anwar Ibrahim who has said no to corruption. He has said no to the use and abuse of political power for personal financial gains. And certainly no, to any attempts by all those who have come before him, to keep for themselves, the ill-gotten gains that they have reaped for themselves while in Public Office.

If the truth is to be told, the sum of all that is now being done by Anwar Ibrahim, is what we have put him in office to do kan? So what is the beef with having such a leader ruling the roost in Putrajaya?

Men, and women, from times immemorial, are never grateful for what they have. Whether in a time of plenty or want, the grass always seems to be greener on the other side. Even when there is a decent roof over your head, good food on the table to feed your loved ones and there is enough money in one's pocket to meet your bills and utilities....they always look beyond what is already their good fortunes to have....and want for more. Not me my friends. Not me!

The realities of an Umno that is totally corrupt, totally at home with the nefarious culture of take, take, and take, an Umno that irresponsibly used race and religion for personal gain, and an Umno that uses political power for any purpose under the sun  - even to steal money meant for the education of our precious young, to steal from Tabung Haji money meant for Muslims to do one of the bidding of their faith - that every Muslim whose health and finances permit it, must make at least one visit to the holy city of Mecca in pilgrimage. All these things are too recent in my memory to forget.

And then there was again the government under Tun Mahathir....and then Muhyiddin and Ismail Sabri....all these governments were used and abused by them to serve their own vile ends. After all these use and abuse of political power in the past many decades, are there any amongst you who want to question if PMX has done government right in the past year?

If you are one of those who thinks so - reflect and think of what we have all lived through in these past as many decades as you and I have been around. My friends we must give our thanks for what we have today ....but maybe we should give thanks that we had the foresight to put the leaders that we now have in this Madani government, into office. For, while it was our King who wanted the Unity government to govern, we were the ones who elected those in the Unity Government into office. So this is our government. This is our PMX.

There is still much to be done if PMX is to get our full stamp of approval and we all have not been quiet on this matter. There is still much work to be done. The education of our young is still lacking in many ways. The costs of living and earning a decent living still leave much to be desired. Race and religion are still too much of an issue in our lives when they should not be....and there are still many many matters that need to be attended to by this Madani government if what they have promised to do in their election manifesto is to be fulfilled. Cakap mesti serupa bikin. We want PMX and his Ministers to walk the talk.

Time may be on PMX's side but he must not forget that time and tide waits for no one. And the green barbarians are already knocking at the gates. Rest not lest the marauding pack of wolves catches up with you. Given the work, PMX and his Madani crowd have done in the past year, I think the coming year will hold much promise for more good governance, more inclusivity of race, more respect for each other beliefs, and hopefully, a Madani government that truly reflects the Malaysia we deserve and the Malaysia we want.Enough said. - Hussein Abdul Hamid
