- A.Kadir Jasin
Masa tu cerita banyak pun tak guna dah...- Jamzuri

'Mahathir PM, Anwar DPM'
DAP urges PKR to state stand...
DAP has revealed the cards with regard to the impasse in "Pakatan Harapan Plus" over who should be named as the prime minister candidate. Party organising secretary Anthony Loke said in recent weeks, the coalition and its allies had explored two combinations for the top two positions. The first combination involved proposing Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister and Mukhriz Mahathir as his deputy. However, this combination did not receive the support of Harapan's allies and hence a new proposal - that Dr Mahathir Mohamad would be the prime ministerial candidate with Anwar as his deputy - was raised.
During a "Pakatan Harapan plus" meeting on June 9, both combinations were laid on the table with Warisan opposing the Anwar-Mukhriz combination and Mahathir proposing that he be given six months at the helm. A follow up meeting was held on June 13 where DAP and Amanah said although they were in favour of an Anwar-Mukhriz combination, their allies could not be convinced and hence Pakatan Harapan should consider the Mahathir-Anwar combination. PKR decided to defer its decision. In an exclusive interview with Malaysiakini today, Loke said PKR was supposed to disclose its position yesterday (June 16) but nothing has been communicated so far. Loke said it is important for PKR to state whether it agreed with this proposal or otherwise. "There must be a clear direction of what is the way forward. It can’t be neither here nor there… Once we have a decision, then we can move on. That is DAP's position. "We decided to speak (openly) today because we want a decision. We want deadlines to be kept. We do not want any indecisive leadership in Harapan," he added. Earlier today, Anwar had apologised on behalf of Harapan for not coming to a decision.
Meanwhile, Loke said he was authorised by DAP to publicise details of the negotiations between those who make up "Pakatan Harapan Plus" because the June 13 deadline for PKR has lapsed. "It is time to put things in perspective. We don't want our supporters to be in limbo. There needs to be clear direction from the leadership. Everyone is confused with what is happening. "DAP is prepared to speak because the deadline passed yesterday. We have a responsibility to inform our supporters, MPs and members about what happened and DAP’s position," he added. Loke explained that DAP had consistently supported Anwar as the coalition's prime minister since Jan 7, 2018 when Bersatu became part of Harapan. On that day, the signatories for the four parties stated that they endorsed Mahathir as the prime minister and that Anwar would succeed him. Loke said immediately after the events of the "Sheraton Move" in late February, Harapan again affirmed their support for Anwar to form a new government but he was unable to secure the numbers.
Following this, Harapan agreed to back Mahathir as the new prime minister, but it was too late as the palace had decided on Feb 29 that Perikatan Nasional’s Muhyiddin Yassin had the support of the majority.
After the events of the "Sheraton Move", Loke said Harapan parties and their allies explored the possibility of forming the government again in order to fulfil the mandate given by the voters. Choosing otherwise, he averred, would be irresponsible. "As far as DAP is concerned, we cannot disappoint our supporters. So, we have to regain our mandate from the people. "We are not going to say that we are prepared to stay in the opposition because the people voted for Harapan to be in the government. "Our mandate has been snatched away, so we must try our level best to regain our mandate," he added.
During the initial stages of discussions, Loke said Harapan had proposed that Anwar-Mukhriz pairing but Warisan was not agreeable to this and therefore the Mahathir-Anwar combination was mooted. The DAP leader revealed that Warisan was firm in wanting Mahathir to lead as the party believed the latter would be able to secure the numbers required to form the majority. Mahathir had also proposed that he be given six months to lead before handing over reins to Anwar. "As far as we are concerned, the two options have already been discussed by Harapan, and it is our fallback position to let Mahathir lead and then for Anwar take over after a certain period of time. "After that decision, we decided that it is now Anwar's call whether he agrees or not. The deadline was supposed to be yesterday. So far we haven't heard any decision from Anwar," he added.- mk
By giving details of parties internal discussion, DAP hope to gain support from public to pressure PKR to kowtow and to give consent for Tun be nominated as PM for the 3rd move. A very smart move by DAP. - GrayFalcon6142
I think Anwar-Mukhriz team is a good deal. Why this 95 yo still want to take charge? In politics 6 months is a long time and many things can happen, or made to happen.A stalemate on this PM issue is Najib wet dream right now. He's seeing light at the end of the tunnel. - My 2 cents
The leaders of DAP and Amanah clearly lack wisdom and foresight. Why Dr M wants to be PM for 6 months only if it not scheming another betrayal? If he has nothing to hide, he can just get PH+ to agree to certain things to be done if AI is the PM. He has betrayed PH once and still want to be betrayed again. DAP is opening its backside wide for Dr M and Amanah is seeing no evil. - Anthony Chan
Beware of Mahathir, he may join back with PAS and some from umno to form a unity government after he managed to secure PM9 post. Never trust this old cunning fox! What ever contract signed is of no use to this oldest traitor. - Otak-Otak
Anwar is now between the devil and the deep blue sea . For the sake of overthrowing the backdoor PN government within this year , I would say it's better to bite your tongue and work with the devil you know . He has Warisan's support . Put it in writing this time and agreed upon by all parties that after 6 months he must handover to Anwar , no more ifs and buts. However if Anwar and PKR are not in favour of this reclaiming attempt , then just concentrate on building up your strength for GE15 ! Remain as the opposition then. - GreenLeopard4021

Percubaan Jadikan PNB "Gravy Train"...
Isu persekolahan beliau hanyalah alasan.
Jakel mendakwa dirinya 100 peratus Bumiputera. Kepala empayar adik-beradik ini ialah Datuk Mohamed Faroz Mohamed Jakel.
Mohamed Feroz saudagar nombor satu Jakel
- A.Kadir Jasin
Goodbye letter from Abdul Jalil to his colleagues and staff at PNB. (Saya dibagi tahu gaji Abdul Jalil masa di Singapura RM320,000 sebulan. Dengan PNB RM100,000 sebulan.) Dear Colleagues, I’m writing to you personally this time, on a sombre note to inform you that I have resigned as your PGCE, effective today. There were many rumours going around about my impending departure over the weekend, please allow me to clarify. When I took this role on, I told myself I will never waver in my principles in performing my duties. Oftentimes, making the right decisions is riddled with difficulties and some will be unpopular. The easy route would be to continue enjoying the perks of the office, whilst battling with your own good conscience. I have always believed that no individual is larger than an institution. I have no intention to drag PNB into this. PNB must be safeguarded at all costs. Hence I have chosen the difficult path, one that is lonely and devastating for my family and I. The last straw for me was the harassment I had to endure from hate calls from unknown numbers, hacking of my other corporate email account and my LinkedIn profile. This made me increasingly worry for the wellbeing of my family. In the end, I decided that it would be unfair to my family should matters escalate. We made a big financial and family sacrifice to relocate back to KL from Singapore because I truly wanted to contribute to nation building. I’m disappointed this has to come to an abrupt end. I do not regret at all my decision to join PNB. The past 9 months have been rewarding for me. I’ve learnt so much and had the privilege to know you all better. You all have been welcoming, showing me great hospitality and displaying genuine dedication and desire to make PNB a better place. I’m so very proud of all of you for embracing the many changes that came your way; workplace transformation, flexible work arrangement, reorganisation of the firm, Focus-4, stewardship framework and embracing technology. Thank you for your commitment and never ending support. Thank you to the PNB Board for the wonderful and unwavering support. It’s the best board any CEO can hope for. Special mention to Tan Sri chairman for giving me the opportunity to serve PNB and taking the plunge with an ‘unknown’. I have learnt greatly under her guidance and will have fond memories of our weekly discussions and advice Tan Sri has always given me. I hope one day Tan Sri will write her memoirs so everybody would benefit from her wisdom as I have. To my leadership team, thank you for believing in me and being supportive of my initiatives. I have tried very hard to be inclusive and widening the decision making process. I apologise I am not able to see this journey through with you till the end. Please continue your initiatives and give the incoming PGCE the same support you have extended me. To the PGCE office. Dena, who’s always looking out for me and family. Yusri who never allows me to walk anywhere and whom my children adore. Hasni, for always being the glue that keeps Balai Level 3 a cohesive unit. Thank you all for taking care of me. The Strategy team for all the hours you’ve spent with me carving out my vision for PNB. Abbas, my rock who from day one has been on call anytime of the day to co-ordinate the organisation and offer me the sounding board I need. I will miss you all dearly. Last but not least, my family who throughout last few days have rallied together to give me the confidence and support. My wife especially, who sacrificed her own aspiration in order to allow me to forge ahead in my career. When we moved back to KL, I told her it will be worth it. I’m sorry it did not work out as planned. We celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday, a milestone that will have a lot of meaning this time around, as we ponder our next step in life. We take solace that Allah knows best and always with the righteous. I‘m sorry that I am not able to say goodbye to everybody given the circumstances. I hope I have made a positive contribution to PNB and you as employees feel the change. I wanted to make PNB cool again, and feel we have achieved that somewhat. You can stay in touch with me through Twitter @jalilpnb (I will change my handle) but I will be deactivating my @jalilpnb Instagram account. I plan on taking some time off with my family, to gather my thoughts and decide on my next step. I would like to apologise if I have offended anyone during my time as PGCE. Please always stay the course, never waver in integrity and always be guided by principles. Always remember we have 14m unitholders that depend on you to give them returns on their hard earned money. It is an Amanah that has been entrusted upon you, and ultimately we are only answerable to One. Take care of yourselves, take care of PNB. It has been my privilege to be your PGCE. I am signing off for the last time. Terima kasih dan good-bye. JR jalil.rasheed@gmail.com
Will Mahathir and Anwar unite again?...
The intense negotiations within the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership to decide on who will lead the coalition have reached a make-or-break point. Amanah and DAP (together with Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s loyalists in Bersatu) are now firmly in favour of uniting behind Mahathir once more with Anwar Ibrahim as his deputy. What’s more, they also seem to have agreed that Mahathir would be the best person to lead them into GE15 should early elections, now a distinct possibility, be called. Anwar and a number of PKR parliamentarians, however, remain adamant that Mahathir cannot be trusted, and who can blame them. Nevertheless, with his own party still in disarray and bleeding members – thanks to the relentless efforts of Mohamed Azmin Ali to entice PKR members to abandon Anwar – and his ability to win Malay support increasingly in doubt, it is going to be hard for Anwar to resist the pressure. If it comes to pass, Mahathir would have pulled off another miracle of sorts – with no political party of his own and with only a handful of MPs in his stable, he has managed to leverage his persona and gravitas to claim the leadership of PH once more. Supporters of the Mahathir-Anwar proposition, including DAP, are now going into overdrive to convince Anwar that it is the best option available. They argue that with Mahathir as head, there’s a better chance of tempting a few more MPs to cross over and perhaps even persuading Gabungan Parti Sarawak to switch sides. Warisan’s support is also contingent on Mahathir heading the ticket. In the end, it’s a numbers game, they point out, and the odds favour Mahathir rather than Anwar. The same logic they suggest would hold true in the event Muhyiddin triggers an early general election: a Mahathir-Anwar ticket would have a better chance of taking on the combined might of Muhyiddin, Najib Razak and Hadi Awang than a ticket without Mahathir. Both Mahathir and Anwar have their relative strengths and weaknesses as well as their core supporters; if they work together, so the thinking goes, they can maximise their strengths and minimise their weaknesses. Referencing a Merdeka Centre poll taken last November, they point out that Mahathir is still more popular with Malay voters than Anwar, with 58% of Malay voters picking Mahathir to lead the country compared to only 13% for Anwar. When it came to non-Malay voters, however, Anwar fared much better. Whatever it is, there is now a palpable sense of urgency within the PH leadership to close ranks given the alarming situation in the country. They feel that if Muhyiddin is not stopped, and stopped soon, he could do irreparable damage to the nation. It is by no means an overstatement. Many feel that Muhyiddin’s reckless and intemperate policies – all predicated upon a desire to stay in office no matter the cost – are driving the country to the brink of catastrophe.
The successful prosecution of high-profile corruption cases involving former Umno politicians is now in doubt. Crony appointments have compromised the integrity of GLCs and statutory bodies. Massive new borrowings (RM35 bil according to the finance minister) to fund pandemic-related recovery programmes will push the nation even further into debt. And the absence of a competent economic team is creating uncertainty. The Najib factor is also weighing heavily on PH leaders. After rather brilliantly manipulating events, he is now set to rise phoenix-like from the ashes of his GE14 defeat. He is today arguably the most influential Malay leader; he enjoys strong support within Umno and his grassroots appeal remains intact despite the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. If he can leverage his influence and power to shake free from the corruption charges against him, there’ll be no stopping him. In the light of these developments, a compelling case can certainly be made for PH leaders to put aside their differences, stop the blame game and act quickly. It would be nice if there was someone other than Mahathir to lead them, but there is none, and they don’t have the luxury of time on their side to wait for a less controversial leader to emerge. The decision to unite behind Mahathir, according to them, is premised not upon any particular devotion to the man but upon political necessity, given the urgency of the situation. Stopping Muhyiddin, they insist, must take precedence over everything else. Such is the gravity of the situation that they have even agreed to put aside discussion on the kind of policies a PH 2.0 administration would pursue; all that, they say, must be left to another time. It’s hard to disagree, of course, with the argument that the situation in the country is dire. The prospect of corrupt former leaders not only shaking off the charges against them but returning to power once more is deeply distressing. No doubt, a not inconsiderable number of Malaysians might well conclude that if Mahathir is the only one who can bring down the PN government, then so be it. They may not like him but the alternatives are worse. It is a long shot to be sure, but it might be the only shot left for PH. If they can unseat Muhyiddin without triggering early elections, they might get a second chance to set things right; if it ends in fresh elections, all bets are off. Despite Mahathir’s much-touted ability to bring in the Malay vote, it must be remembered that he fared poorly the last time around with his party winning only 13 of the 52 seats it contested. He also failed to bring in the Malay vote in almost every by-election since. With the Umno-PAS alliance holding steady, it is unlikely that Mahathir will be able to do better. Even the non-Malay vote is by no means certain. Many non-Malays are jaded and jilted, disappointed and despondent; they might not even make the effort to vote in another general election, given the choices before them. However this plays out, one thing is certain: many voters have lost faith in their leaders and perhaps even in the future of the country. The system is now so corrupt, the malaise so deep, that many are convinced it is beyond repair. How terrible that after some six decades of nation-building, we have come to this, that the future of the nation now rests in the hands of a clutch of unprincipled and untrustworthy leaders. - Dennis Ignatius
Bila Menteri Kewangan Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz kata, kewangan negara kukuh banyak orang tersalah faham.
Dah tengok akaun terus buat pinjaman Ah Long RM35b...
A prime minister for six months?
Anwar Ibrahim is no longer in prison. There is no longer a need to create an unusual arrangement like Pakatan Harapan did before the 14th general election - Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be the seventh prime minister for two years and hand over the baton to Anwar as the eighth prime minister. The logic at that time was that a loose two-year timeline would ensure that Anwar is out of Sungai Buloh as a prisoner of conscience. In the stalemate on a prime minister candidate for Pakatan Harapan Plus now, it appears that there are a few options forward: (a) Mahathir as prime minister and Anwar as deputy prime minister (b) Mahathir as PM for “several months” and Anwar as DPM (c) Anwar as PM and Mukhriz Mahathir as DPM (d) Shafie Apdal or a Sarawak-based party leader as PM Out of these options, (b) appears to be the most likely outcome. Anwar has held out on option (a) because it puts him in a far worse position compared to before the Sheraton Move – at least back then there was a two-year agreement to hand over power to him. Option (c) is also unlikely since Mahathir would not want to see Anwar as prime minister in his lifetime (deemed as too “liberal” and unsuitable by Mahathir), and Mukhriz’s strength still has some way to go. Option (d) would not receive consensus from most component parties. Therefore, option (b) would be most likely as Harapan would want to seek a reversal to the pre-Sheraton Move status quo. Harapan generally believes that they are a force of moral good and getting back to power is an urgent necessity. Before Muhyiddin Yassin’s coup, the revised timeline for the handover of the prime ministership was “after the Apec summit” that was scheduled to be held in November this year.
Toksah dok bagi lah 6 bulan pun.Jenih akai jenuh ni satgi dia cari cara nak hantaq bang Non balik ke Sg Buloh...
Of course, Harapan Plus will definitely not agree to put this down to paper and would once again impose a loose timeline of “several months roughly after Apec” for a handover to Anwar. What this translates to is a Mahathir prime ministership of six months. This is a hazardous proposition. One of the common claims against a two-year timeline or any call for Mahathir to hand over to Anwar was that it would destabilise the government. Anwar’s oft-repeated statement was to “give space” to Mahathir to govern since assurance and stability were essential to govern well. In other words, if it wasn’t for the unusual circumstance of Anwar being in prison before GE14, any imposition of a transition plan with a timeline would not be good for anyone. What we have learned is that there is no such thing as a peaceful handover of prime ministership as most prime ministers would want to stay on as long as they can. What has been revealed through the backdoor meetings of Harapan leaders is that leaders aligned to Mahathir had always wanted the nonagenarian to stay on as prime minister – even to the point of reneging on the agreement to hand over power to Anwar. From the people’s perspective, continually changing the premier is also scarring. Policies change, personnel reshuffle and politics go on overdrive. Granted, the coup that changed our premier from Mahathir to Muhyiddin was not Harapan’s fault. But inviting and necessitating a transition plan after six months, or worse, “several months”, converts the government into a farce. Mahathir once told Anwar that setting a timeline to hand over the prime ministership will make him a lame-duck prime minister. I agree. A prime minister needs the confidence and respect of the cabinet, civil service, and the people. If the people know that Mahathir will not be a prime minister for long, they will gather around his successor and only treat what he says with a caution of transience.
Therefore, imposing a timeline for a second time is untenable. In fact, on a practical standpoint, no one can get much done in six months. Even an experienced prime minister like Mahathir got little done in the 22 months he served as the seventh prime minister. He has often lamented that he does not have enough time to make the changes he wants.
What was destroyed by many governments before will take many years to repair. Mahathir knows this more than anyone else. Imposing a much shorter timeline now – albeit much looser – will inevitably reduce the prime minister to a lame-duck prime minister. Those who prefer Mahathir to return as prime minister for the third time often base their claims on two notions. One is that without Mahathir, Harapan would not have won GE14. Two, the “strong influence” and “miracle” of Mahathir is needed to negotiate the seats that Harapan is short of claiming a majority in Parliament. The first notion has often been repeated but never proven, empirically or otherwise. The broad idea was Mahathir was the key reason why Harapan won the people’s mandate in GE14 – without any proof of public opinion data compared to other vital reasons such as economic pessimism, the GST, employment, or the cost of living. It also ignores the fact that Bersatu only won 13 seats and only 25-30 percent of Malays voted for Harapan, casting doubt on Mahathir’s influence. The second notion is even more problematic as it relies on the assumption that Mahathir does not require the rest of the component parties – chiefly, Anwar’s 39 seats from PKR – to get back into power. Mahathir’s reliance on Harapan’s 92 seats to form a government is greater than Harapan’s reliance on Mahathir’s additional 20 seats to form the government. Bearing this in mind, the question is whether there is any necessity for Mahathir to hold on to several months as prime minister before Harapan Plus can enjoy a breath of fresh air again – when reforms are no longer an impossible dream. In the absence of a strong moral, procedural or political claim to the prime ministership, there is no reason why our country needs Mahathir to return for the third time. After all, Mahathir only has six MPs on his side – a 2.7 percent legitimacy to stake a claim for equal and overriding partnership. - James Chai
Its really madness ...he resigned n now he wants it bc.....crazy ..Dont think for a second for TunM to be in the equation for pm again......may be he still want to put you back again at Sg Buloh... if you gv him the 3rd chance...rakyat will not forgive you for this mistake....no more SABAR PERENGKAT DEWA.....time to teach TunM some lessons n rakyat love to see that happen.....PH lost because of him n this need to be remembered.." Jangan menyerah Ds Anwar. Terus kunci ketat permainan sang saka tua yu. Kali ni jangan beri muka lagi!!! If rakan2 PH yg pro sang Saka tua tu bolehlah kembali stand asal iaitu bersatu letak Anwar as pm9. Sang saka tua bila rasa ditinggalkan nak tak nak terpaksa mengikut. Haaa nampak? - Man Toba
I can see clearly now - Anwar
is Harapan’s PM candidate...
I can see clearly now that the "rain" is gone – all the obstacles (read traitors and turncoats) inside the Harapan coalition we voted into power in GE14 are now gone - and for the better. I can see clearly now that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration of Muhyiddin Yassin is shaky as his "backdoor government" clearly lacks the support of the majority of Malaysians. Its legitimacy is also seriously in doubt. Even Muhyiddin can see that clearly himself as he is now considering the option of calling for fresh elections by year-end, as reported. I can also see clearly now that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is the new chairperson of the Pakatan Harapan Plus coalition and that it is very clear to me that he should be the prime minister candidate of the opposition group. Unfortunately, there is another contender to be PM – Dr Mahathir Mohamad. This is where the dynamics in Harapan turns delicate and tricky. It is also clear to many of us that Mahathir is now planning a counter-coup with his Harapan Plus allies. To those supporting such a move, they are probably saddened that the choice of the PM candidate remains the sore point. Early this week, Mahathir made a rare appearance (below) at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya to attend a Harapan meeting chaired by Anwar. Also present was Parti Warisan president Shafie Apdal who was on the PKR premises for the first time. All later emerged from the meeting declaring that there would be “positive news” from the coalition within a week. It soon became clear that the meeting has yet to decide on the PM candidate – the issue continues to stick out like a sore thumb. Last Friday, PKR, DAP and Amanah leaders met again – this time without Mahathir and Shafie. We can guess the meeting’s top agenda after a Harapan announcement that their PM candidate will be revealed coming Tuesday. There is something which I cannot see clearly – why is Mahathir still keen on becoming prime minister for the third time? I keep asking myself whether I am blind or is it Mahathir who is blind. I find it difficult to comprehend why a man of 95 is still interested to be the nation’s chief executive, a position he had held for 22 years and 22 months over two different periods of his long life.
And if I have heard correctly, Mahathir only wants to be prime minister for six months after which he would pass the baton to Anwar. Perhaps there is something Mahathir can clearly see ahead of him which you and I cannot. However, I am still uncertain whether I should trust Mahathir’s instincts again and give him the benefit of the doubt after what had happened over the past two years. What I cannot see, ahead of Mahathir’s moves, has put me in a dilemma. Somehow, the trust and confidence I had in Mahathir prior to GE14 are sadly lacking this time. Let me be honest and relate this little tale. In April, a Harapan leader, a dear friend, asked me what I thought of the Mahathir-Anwar joint statement where the duo have agreed to set aside their differences and work together again to wrest power from the backdoor government of Muhyiddin.
My initial reaction was sheer disbelief: “Seriously? Mahathir and Anwar together – surely, not again. What a dumb move!” With due respect, after what happened in February, I had had enough of the Mahathir-Anwar combo. I wanted Harapan to move on and start afresh. I no longer have faith in the hopeless Harapan that was hopeless in handling power, leaving Malaysians hopelessly in a limbo. We need leaders who know what they are doing to inspire and bring hope and positive changes to the nation. Malaysians need role models around them. Leaders must provide clear directions on how to move the nation forward. My dream for Malaysia is a fresh start with 222 new members of Parliament. No more Harapan, Harapan Plus or PN. Enough of the same breed of politicians. Since that is not likely to happen, I am stuck with what is on display before me and will make the most of it. In Pakatan Harapan Plus, Anwar should be the PM candidate just as he has rightly been chosen to be the opposition leader. In a recent interview with Malaysiakini, Anwar conceded that some Harapan lawmakers have pragmatic views and want Mahathir to be the premier candidate in order to secure the numbers needed to gain a majority in Parliament. But realpolitik or not, Anwar, the decision is not yours alone to make. It is also not for the 20-odd people on the Harapan presidential council to make. Ultimately, the position of Malaysians matters. On this issue of the PM candidate, there is only one name for now. He should be Anwar Ibrahim, love him or loathe him. That, I can see clearly now. - Francis Paul Siah
Org kata bebas rasuah bukan bebaskan perasuah...
- Shahbudin Husin

Can we still look to Tun M
for another miracle?...
PM Muhyiddin's effort to combat the coronavirus outbreak has been commendable, but unfortunately this alone is not going to assure him he can always keep his PM seat, nor his party PPBM remains solid as ever. While fighting the virus, he is also trying to rope in more elected reps, Indeed, there are too many political frogs constantly making noise in the midst, totally unprincipled, dishonorable and morally depraved. Tun M is not going to be left out as he is prowling to make a comeback soon. The thing is, how many people will place their trust on this old man again, save for Pakatan Harapan? To seize the lost power, PH will still opt to dance with the devil, knowing very well he could hardly be trusted. Anwar seems to have somewhat changed in recent weeks. He has started to get tough with Mahathir, having refused to meet him on several occasions and absented himself from press conferences he chaired. Party insiders say Anwar's tolerance for Mahathir has been stretched to a limit and he is not going to submit himself to the old man any more. We all know that Anwar's attitude will sooner or later soften for the sake of power. Expectedly, the two men met again before long. On June 10, Mahathir made a personal call at PKR headquarters to attend the PH meeting to discuss the PM candidate if PH++ gets to rule again. The PM post is the only palpable barrier standing in the way of PH–Mahathir cooperation. We have yet to see whether Anwar will make himself a fool once again. Given the current political chaos in the country, political frogs have become a tradable commodity. Both Mahathir and PH are racing against time to get elected reps on their side while seizing any available opportunity to talk the 18 GPS MPs into joining them, which will significantly boost their chances of returning to power. Mahathir's son Mukhriz has claimed that PH will form a new government before the parliamentary sitting resumes in July. Both PN and PH claim they have the numbers.
The numbers are, in reality, no longer important, as frogs can hop from one side to another and statutory declarations can be signed carelessly. Mahathir has said the numbers keep appearing and disappearing and he just doesn't know whether he has the numbers! Indeed, power will make one crazy, and once the sweet taste of power is savored, it will stay etched in the mind and be grabbed back at all costs if lost. In order to grab the power, many politicians have forgotten that the power entrusted to them actually comes from the rakyat, who are their real bosses. When power is at hand, they become arrogant and would indiscriminately abuse that power. Mahathir is now working very hard to recapture that power from the hands of Muhyiddin. In addition to getting more MPs to support him, he also challenges Muhyiddin in the court over the termination of party membership of him and four others. He insists he is still the party's legitimate chairman. Muhyiddin not only needs to put up a good show in combating the virus, he also has tons of political challenges to face. To consolidate PPBM's position in the ruling coalition, he has proposed to register PN as a formal alliance, but that does not seem to work out quite nicely. Majority of PPBM leaders and members were from Umno, both parties sharing very identical DNA. No one can tell for sure MPs defecting to PPBM post-GE14 will not go back to Umno one day. Which side will these people stand if a snap election is called soon, or if Muhyiddin's administration would last until the next general election is due?
There were as many as 46 parliamentary seats that saw three-cornered fights among Umno, PAS and PPBM in GE14. Of these seats, PPBM only won ten while Umno and PAS took 30 and six respectively. It will be inconceivable for Muhyiddin to get Umno to hand over these seats to his party, and pro-Mahathir former education minister Maszlee Malik is skeptical PPBM can even retain the existing ten seats. The fundamental support bases of these three parties are all Malay-dominant constituencies. Once the Parliament is dissolved, all these parties will be operating on their own. Neither Umno nor PAS is going to negotiate seat allocation with you! Muhyiddin was unlucky enough to have assumed the PM post at a time the country's coronavirus outbreak was on the verge of an explosive growth. And with the virus now somewhat under control, he has to muster all his energy to tackle the siege from PH and Mahathir. Mahathir has never absented himself from the Malaysian governments during the past four decades. Save for his 22 years as prime minister, he also made himself visible during Abdullah's and Najib's administrations. He took out Abdullah to install Najib, and then took out the latter to become PM himself, again. This February, his rushy resignation killed the PH administration, and he was then fighting to get reinstated. He will not call it a day until Muhyiddin—the unpresumable eighth prime minister who betrayed and unseated him—is taken out of office. Mahathir still has the clout, and is now making advances towards becoming the country's ninth prime minister, another world record indeed! But, can we still look to him to deliver another miracle? - Pook Ah Lek, Sin Chew Daily
Najib's Races Plans Into Action
To Get Off The Hook?...
The moves to get charges dropped against UMNO’s warlords appear to have moved into urgent top gear – is this a sign that the coup coalition fears time may be running out? Yesterday the former AG Apandi (who in 2016 declared that the 1MDB investigation proved no evidence of wrongdoing whilst waving the incriminating evidence for all to see) was once more put to work seeking to allege the prosecutor in Najib’s 1MDB trial was compromised. Now, it has emerged, Najib’s allies immediately headed down to the police station reporting alleged ‘treason’ against former PM Mahathir Mohamad in connection with the issue!
Tactic to excuse charges being dropped After years of silence on such matters Apandi made his surprise intervention claiming that the prosecutor leading the case against Najib in the 1MDB trial, Gopal Sri Ram, was somehow compromised because, according to Apandi, Sri Ram asked him whilst he was Attorney General to proceed against Najib over 1MDB back before the GE14 election. In short, it appears that Sri Ram, a former federal judge, had advised Apandi to do his job. It may seem a stretch, but the coup conspirators need some sort of fig leaf to excuse evident plans to use the hijacking of the Malaysian government to drop the multiple charges of theft against Najib and fellow UMNO warlords and it seems they have chosen this. Naturally, they have made their attack as aggressive as possible suggesting that it is Mahathir and Sri Ram* who should be jailed, not the man who accepted stolen billions of public money into his private bank accounts. According to the police report, placed by UMNO Supreme Council Member Lokman Adam (who has been charged with contempt for threatening witnesses at Najib’s trial): “The previous AG Tan Sri Apandi revealed a part of his book that Gopal Sri Ram, a retired Judge, had passed on Dr Mahathir’s request that Apandi arrest and charge Najib, the PM at that time. When asked why Najib had to be arrested and charged, Gopal replied that this was to be done for no reason as many people would like it. The actions of Gopal were treacherous because they were tantamount to bringing down a legitimate government. Apandi’s revelations are serious and worry me because as soon as Dr. Mahathir became PM, he appointed Gopal Sri Ram as the prosecutor involving the cases of Najib and Rosmah. The purpose of this report is to enable the police to investigate the truth of Apandi’s statement in view of the fact that he has CCTV coverage as proof and also witnesses in support. If true, Dr, Mahathir and Gopal Sri Ram have to face justice.” [English translation] This may seem ridiculous, however Najib’s artful lawyers will doubtless concoct a tale of prejudice over which they plan to troop into their newly appointed AGs office to demand charges be dropped. Then they will hope for relative plain sailing steered by money and connections.
Najib makes new attempt to disqualify Sri Ram as prosecutor
Once ‘Bosku’ is back and distributing his stolen cash again, according to this script, charges can indeed be brought against all the people who earlier sought to bring him to book. Ideally, they will hope to achieve all this without calling Parliament at all (it has already been illegally prorogued under ’emergency’ declarations by the PM without a mandate). If necessary, they will aim for a Covid election inflamed by the racial tensions they have stoked for years to cover up their criminal activities. This move doesn’t get Najib off his SRC case, of course, which has a separate legal team or Rosmah off her cases either. However, now the ball is set rolling the legal network is already abuzz with talk of pressure being brought to bear in all directions. This was how Najib/BN operated pre-GE14 as the country knows. They think money and establishment friends will help them pull it off. Rosmah herself has set the tone, with the angry announcements emerging yesterday that her Hermes bag collection (which she has plainly been set on getting back) has been tainted by markers made by police. They are branded forever as criminal items, which might spoil it for her if she tried to sport them publicly once more. An independent police force would, of course, dismiss this discredited UMNO bigwig’s interventions. BN/PN bullies will press their case with Najib’s high stakes gamble to overturn the verdict of GE14 and cheat the rule of law. - Sarawak Report
