Hujan naik ke langit. Beruk, ungka, biawak dan babi montel geleng kepala kerana masyarakat mereka pun tahu tindakan UMNO membunuh harapan rakyat menyokong parti yang uzur itu. Tidak pernah dengar manusia siuman yang punya otak melantik penyamun jadi pemimpin parti dan seorang maharaja penyamun menjadi pengerusi lembaga penasihat parti.

Hari ini UMNO mencipta sejarah paling bodoh di alam buana memilih dua manusia yang menunggu masa untuk disintuklimau dan mandi bunga oleh pejat, lipas, cicak dan mengkarong di Sg Buloh.

Apakah para pemimpin dan ahli UMNO dikuasai iblis dan syaitan memilih pemimpin yang dibebani berpuluh tuduhan rasuah, salahguna kuasa, korup, pengubahan wang haram sebagai pemimpin parti? Apakah mereka fikir berjuta rakyat Malaysia bodoh, dunggu kaldai, lembu dan kerbau akan menyokong parti yang dipimpin para perompak, maharaja koruptor itu?

Nampaknya ahli-ahli UMNO buta matahati dan tidak insaf terhadap penentangan rakyat terhadap para lanun, perompak, pembelit, penipu dan puak munafiq yang menguasai parti itu hingga UMNO/BN ditendang rakyat dari Putrajaya pada PRU 14. 

Muka-muka perompak yang sama kembali berkuasa sekarang. Mungkin Allah hendak menunjukkan sekali lagi manusia mungkar, super munafiq ini akan dilaknati, dan UMNO akan kecundang sekali lagi kalau mereka tidak kembali ke jalan yang lurus.

UMNO sudah hilang sakral keramatnya. Hilang maruah, hargadiri, kredibiliti dan semangat perjuangannya sebagai pembela rakyat, agama dan tanahair tercinta. Masa depan UMNO semakin gelap, pudar nur keimanan pimpinannya, dan ia akan terus menyalak gunung namun sia-sia sahaja. Ia memilih para pemimpin Melayu yang bangsatkan Melayu maka UMNO akan menjadi parti bangsat yang akan ditolak oleh orang Melayu kelak. - Yahaya Ismail

Menteri kenakan MP dari PAS - 

di zaman UMNO 30%,di zaman PH 40%

MP Rantau Panjang (Pas) YB Siti Zailah Yusuf  tanya soalan kepada YB Anyhony Loke (Menteri Pangangkutan) berkaitan pembinaan ECRL melibatkan kawasan beliau terutamanya, beliau menuduh kerajaan PH menganaktirikan kerajaan Kelantan. Megapa kuota bumiputra hanya 40% sahaja? soal beliau.

Dengan selamba menteri jawab, " Mengapa dulu tidak tanya kerajaan Bn tentang perkara ini? Dulu zaman Bn hanya dapat 30%. Bawah kerajaan PH, dirunding semula dan dapat dinaikkan dari 30% kepada 40%.. Itu jawapan menteri.

Maka, meyalak habis lebai2 dalam dewan. Marah sungguh mereka kalau sentuh nama Umno/Bn kawan baik mereka itu. Lihat perangai lebai. Zaman Umno, ECRL diwujudkan dan Umno/Bn dah buat macam2 perjanjian yang samasekali tidak menguntungkan rakyat dengan kos yg terlalu tinggi. 

Bila PH perintah, mahu tidak mahu terpaksa teruskan projek tersebut tetapi banyak rundingan dibuat semula agar kos dapat dikurangkan. 

Kalau zaman Umno mereka runding dapat 30% saja, tetapi zaman PH kita runding dapat 40% untuk kontrak pekerja tempatan, adakah itu maksudnya kerajaan PH menganaktirikan Kelantan dan Umno itu sayang kepada Kelantan? Maka, wajib jatuhkan kerajaan PH dan wajib sokong Umno?

Zaman Umno/Bn, mereka rampas royalti, tapi dizaman PH, kita kembalikan royalti minyak itu adalah tanda kerajaan PH anaktirikan Kelantan dan Umno dulu sayang kepada Kelantan? Maka, jatuh fatwa haram sokong PH dan wajib sokong Umno?

As Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad turned 94 on Wednesday, well-wishers marvelled at his political staying power, while analysts wondered what new tricks the elder statesman of Asian politics might have up his sleeve.

Mahathir’s return to the apex of power last year – after a famous election victory over one time protégé Najib Razak – was widely seen as the greatest feat of a political career that stretches back to the 1940s.

That achievement came about because Mahathir quit the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) he had helped build during his first stint as prime minister, from 1981 to 2003, and joined the multiracial opposition he had spent so much of his colourful political life knocking down.

Umno, with its policy of admitting only members who are of Malay or indigenous [bumiputra, or sons of the soil] heritage, had for six decades until last year’s election been the country’s single most important political force – even though it was part of the multiparty Barisan Nasional coalition.

Malays and the indigenous peoples of peninsula Malaysia and Borneo make up about 67 per cent of Malaysia’s 33 million citizens. With Umno out of power, the now ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition includes several parties vying for support from that hefty ethnic vote bank.

Among them is the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM, or Malaysian United Indigenous Party), which Mahathir formed to contest the polls after he split from Umno.

Political analysts say, based on recent intimations by Mahathir, that the veteran politician’s next major political manoeuvre is to reconsolidate – in his favour – Malay support that was splintered by last year’s election.

Umno is a shadow of its previous self, but remains a potent force because its leaders – including the deposed ex-prime minister Najib – continue to use racial rhetoric to shore up support. In terms of size, it remains the country’s biggest Malay party, with three million members.

The Islamist Parti Se-Islam Malaysia (Malaysian Pan-Islamic Party), is also formidable – with about 800,000 members. Both parties form the present-day opposition.

Last week, Mahathir urged Malay parties to join forces with his PPBM, cautioning that Malay-only parties going it alone would not help the interests of the majority ethnic group. Mahathir said his offer was aimed at unifying the country’s increasingly splintered Malay community so that it can progress economically at a quicker pace.

Malays already benefit from affirmative action following racial violence in the 1960s sparked by a yawning wealth gap between the ethnic group and Malaysia’s wealthier Chinese minority.

“This [invitation to PPBM] is not a racist sentiment,” emphasised Mahathir. “We are just inviting members [to join]. There are already four Malay parties, enough. Malays must learn that politics is a serious matter … if there’s a problem, tell us, do not just start a new party.”

He later walked back his comments somewhat – amid pressure from multiracial coalition partners – but observers said his message to the Malays was clear: let PPBM be the new Umno. Wong Chin Huat, one of the country’s prominent political scientists, told This Week in Asia the prime minister was trying to use one stone “to kill several birds”.

“At the very least, it can sow the seeds of division in Umno. If they do jump over, it may strengthen Bersatu’s position in Pakatan Harapan,” Wong said.

Bersatu at present holds 26 parliamentary seats, making it the second smallest party in Pakatan Harapan. Thirteen of its MPs are ex-Umno lawmakers who crossed aisles after last year’s vote.
Wong and others in the commentariat are convinced, however, that Mahathir’s latest move is not just about hollowing out a deposed political foe.

Rather, they believe Mahathir is upping the ante in his rivalry with an ally, Anwar Ibrahim – leader of the Pakatan Harapan’s biggest party, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR, or People’s Justice Party).

Anwar was deputy prime minister to Mahathir during the senior politician’s first stint as prime minister, but the two had a falling out that resulted in Anwar being sacked and subsequently jailed for sodomy and corruption – convictions international rights groups say were trumped up by the then ruling administration.

They patched things up before last year’s election, and as part of an agreement, Mahathir must hand over power to Anwar within two years. The talk among Pakatan Harapan insiders is that Mahathir’s preference is to hand over power to another leader from PKR, the Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali, rather than Anwar.

The young minister, formerly chief minister of the state of Selangor, has grabbed headlines recently after allegedly featuring in a series of leaked sex videos. He denies involvement, and claims the videos were doctored to hurt him politically. PKR, which is helmed by Anwar as its president and Azmin as its deputy president, remains the biggest party in the ruling coalition, with 50 seats.

“[Mahathir’s Bersatu] is the party with the least number of seats, so it needs to have leverage to bargain and have its voice heard within Pakatan Harapan,” said Azmil Tayeb, a political scientist with Malaysia’s University of Science.

“Since the coalition gets weak support from Malay voters – still dwindling since the elections – Bersatu can use the ‘Malay unity’ card for leverage. Speculatively, it can also be used to check Anwar’s rise to power within Pakatan Harapan since Mahathir might be able to use the Malay unity card to convince other leaders to back his [preferred successor] instead.”

And Awang Azman Awang Pawi, a politics professor at the University of Malaya, said Mahathir was undoubtedly seeking to ‘defend his position’ amid rising pressure from Anwar’s camp for him to step down.

“Mahathir could have asked the opposition members to join Bersatu, or PKR or Amanah [another party in Pakatan Harapan], not just Bersatu. Clearly there are political motives to strengthen Bersatu so it is no longer a minority party,” he said.

For now, it remains to be seen if Mahathir’s overtures to other Malay parties will strengthen his hand. Moderates within Umno, such as former youth minister Khairy Jamaluddin, have turned down the prime minister’s offer – even though he said he accepted the notion that the Malay ground was too divided.

Others in Umno, such as its president, former deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi – mired in corruption charges like his former boss Najib – has struck back hard at Mahathir’s offer.

Zahid said his party would never work with Bersatu because of its strong ties with the Democratic Action Party, the Chinese-dominated Pakatan Harapan constituent party that has long been vilified by Umno as anti-Malay.

Mahathir, pressed by the media on Monday on his motive behind trying to unite the Malay political ground, had this to say: “We appeal to the Malays to be sensible about politics. You have 10, or 50 parties, for what?” The answer to that rhetorical question may be in Umno’s track record as a near monolithic political voice for the Malays, some observers say.

“The idea of one Malay party is playing politics to rally support and build strength [for Bersatu] … I doubt having a sole Malay party will distribute equally the advantages to all layers of Malay society,” said Kartini Aboo Talib, a professor in policy analysis at the National University of Malaysia.

The Umno-led Barisan Nasional did that “and yet the results scattered spatially and [created] new social hierarchies with significant income gaps,” she said. - scmp

What if all Malay parties joined Bersatu?

Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s latest call for all Malay parties to unite under his party, Bersatu, is yet another attempt to undermine the dominant partner in the Pakatan Harapan coalition, Anwar Ibrahim’s multi-racial PKR, and again raises legitimate questions of whether Mahathir will eventually hand over the reins of power to his anointed successor.

If indeed his aim is to pass power peaceably without any fuss, why is he proposing a deal with other Malay parties, which will change the complexion of the multi-racial Harapan coalition and replace it with one that will be dominated by Malay parties instead?

Let’s see what happens in the extreme and unlikely case that all Malay or Malay-based parties join Bersatu, to illustrate the possible scenarios that could take place. And it’s not a very happy one, laced with all kinds of uncertainties and poisons. 

This table above shows the breakdown of government and opposition MPs according to parties. The two outright Malay parties in the ruling government are Bersatu and Amanah, with PKR, although being a multi-racial party, enjoying significant Malay support. The opposition Malay parties are Umno and PAS, and we could include Sarawak’s GPS which is dominated by PPB with 13 out of 18 seats. GPS is unlikely to join Bersatu, but is likely to support it. 

If Amanah were to join Bersatu, together with Umno and PAS, then Bersatu will command 93 seats (26+11+38+18). If it gets support from GPS’ 18 MPs, then it will control 111 (93+18) seats, exactly half of the parliamentary seats.  With defections from Harapan and/or support from the remaining 10 opposition seats, which include independents, majority control is assured even if PKR and DAP were to leave the Harapan coalition.

In the first scenario then, Mahathir’s Bersatu gets control of Parliament with help from GPS and others, leaving PKR and DAP out in the cold because their combined numbers are insufficient to form a majority. The two may well leave Harapan and become the main opposition.

Mahathir’s aim - Malay dominance or ketuanan Melayu - is achieved with power totally in the hands of Malays, and with non-Malays having to depend entirely on the charity of Bersatu for anything they get. Also, that finally secures Mahathir’s position as PM for as long as he wants and is able, and the chance to choose his own successor, because PKR’s and DAP’s influence in the party is no more and the two multi-racial parties are more or less sidelined.

The other scenario is that PKR and DAP choose to remain within the Harapan coalition, but they will be toothless. Considering that, as a minority PM who, at the end of GE14, had just 13 seats before Umno defections swelled it to 26, Mahathir did not give due representation to either PKR or DAP, that situation will worsen.

More importantly, under that scenario, there will be hardly any opposition to speak of, giving the new government more or less unfettered rights to do almost anything, a very dangerous position to be in when you have Mahathir as prime minister.

The likely situation, however, could still be status quo, given the hostile response from Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (above), who pointed out that the biggest party is Umno-PAS.

"The Malays do not have to go to PPBM (Bersatu). The biggest Malay party is Umno and PAS. The joint agenda for Umno-PAS is far more important for the unification of the ummah (faithful), and beyond political interests," Ahmad Zahid wrote in a Facebook post.

It may still be possible for crossovers by individual MPs, more likely from Umno rather than PAS. PAS MPs have so far not shown any predilection to move to Bersatu. Such crossovers will help increase Mahathir’s grip within the coalition. But if PKR and DAP stay united within the coalition - an assumption at this stage given Mahathir’s ability to successfully drive wedges between strong allies, e.g. Azmin Ali and Anwar - they can successfully neutralise him, even if all Umno MPs were to cross over.

In such an instance, Bersatu could have as many as 75 MPs (Bersatu 64, with Umno’s 38, and Amanah 11), but still smaller than the PKR-DAP total of 92 (50+42). If it comes to the crunch, the Harapan coalition could force Mahathir to step down, although the outcome is by no means certain. Of course, there are other permutations and combinations possible that are impossible to take into account, but the numbers illustrate some key possibilities.

If Mahathir is successful, what it will mean is a nullification of the GE14 results, which effectively brought a more multi-racial coalition into power, and therefore offered hope for reconciliation of differences among races instead of an antagonistic relationship previously, where parties such as Umno and PAS painted non-Malays as threats.

If Mahathir is successful, it will be a major step backwards for Malaysia, notwithstanding the fact that we collectively kicked out a kleptocratic government. One wishes that Mahathir would now step away from the scene, since his publicly avowed aim of helping to remove the common enemy, Najib Abdul Razak, has been achieved.

Knowing Mahathir, he won’t do that, which puts Harapan in quite a pickle as to what to do with this recalcitrant old fox who keeps pulling cards from his sleeves to upset the apple (durian?) cart with potentially disastrous consequences.

At some point, Mahathir’s bluff may be called in this constant game of poker, which so far Mahathir is winning. It is difficult to say whether the ultimate results would be calamitous or fortuitous, but it is bound to cause some anxious moments for the rest of us. - P. Gunasegaram

PAS akhirnya berjaya islamkan UMNO...

1. Peribahasa ‘Alah Bisa Tegal Biasa’ amat sesuai digunapakai bagi membuktikan betapa agama suci Islam diperalatkan tanpa segan silu dan takut demi kepentingan sesuatu pihak dan parti.

2. Ahli dan penyokong tegar dan walak PAS pasti tidak akan bersetuju dengan pandangan-pandangan yang berbeza walau pun ia umpama 'Sudah Terang Lagi Bersuluh'.

3. Dari awal lagi pemikiran mereka telah ditanam dengan ideologi bahawa pemimpin mereka adalah 'ulamak perwaris Nabi' yang maksum.

4. Seolah-olah berdosa, mereka akan percaya dan ikut apa saja yang disampai dan diarah oleh pemimpin TANPA banyak soal.

5. Sesiapa saja yang mempersoal tindakan-tindakan pemimpin akan dipandang serong dan berkemungkinan diambil tindakan.

6. Umpama kuda lumba di mana kedua-dua matanya ditutup dan berlari dengan pantas setiap kali dilibas dengan tali pemukul atau 'whip’.

7. Terdapat sebahagian 'ustaz' yang mengajar di masjid dan surau yang mengambil kesempatan menyelitkan secara halus dan licik propaganda mereka.

8. Bagi sesetengah pemimpin PAS, pembohongan itu adalah satu perkara yang perlu dilakukan bagi memastikan kedudukan mereka 'terselamat'.

9. Jika dulu 'Amanat Hadi Awang' yang dijadikan asas perjuangan PAS yang mengkafirkan UMNO, kini bak kata Perdana Menteri, PAS akhirnya sudah pun berjaya mengislamkan UMNO.

10. Bukan itu sahaja, PAS kini sudah boleh menerima dan mengamalkan Perlembagaan dan undang-undang kafir negara yang mereka tentang di suatu masa dulu.

11. Jika dulu Hadi dan pemimpin-pemimpin PAS menyifatkan MCA dan MIC umpama seketul daging babi di dalam kawah daging lembu, kini kehadiran daging babi itu tidak lagi menjadi isu kepada mereka.

12. Kita juga terbayang-bayang bagaimana Hadi bukan sahaja berpelukan dengan Lim Kit Siang dan Lim Guang Eng, malah melangit memuji parti DAP itu.

13. Musuh utama PAS kini bukan lagi UMNO tapi DAP.

14. Dalam politik tidak ada kawan yang kekal dan tidak ada musuh yang berpanjangan, yang utama ialah kepentingan diri dan parti.

15. Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, Timbalan Presiden PAS sepatutnya lebih berhati-hati dengan pendiriannya di dalam isu-isu tertentu terutama yang melibatkan Agama Islam.

16. Semasa bermusuh dengan UMNO, beliau pernah menuntut Najib dan Rosmah mengisytiharkan harta.

17. Nada beliau kini sudah berubah berhubung perkara yang sama dengan berkata, "Dalam Islam Harta Bukan Perlu Diisytihar Kepada Umum”.

18. Bagi mempertahankan Timbalannya itu, Hadi mengemukakan fatwa terbarunya, "Isytihar Harta Idea Komunis”.

19. Mengikut Hadi, DAP yang mempengaruhi Pakatan Harapan (PH) bagi semua Wakil Rakyat PH termasuk Perdana Menteri dan Wakil-Wakil Rakyat Pembangkang berbuat demikian.

20. Bukankah idea mengisytiharkan harta dan pendapatan oleh semua Wakil Rakyat satu idea yang harus diberi pujian?

21. Bukankah Islam menitik-beratkan integriti atau akhlak yang baik, akauntabiliti atau kebertanggungjawaban dan transperansi atau keterbukaan khususnya di kalangan pemimpin-pemimpinnya?

22. Tindakan Hadi dan Timbalannya yang berdolak-dalik dalam hal ini tak ubah seperti seekor sesumpah yang bertukar warna mengikut kesesuaian; ia bercanggah dengan amalan Nabi kita Muhammad SAW yang mementingkan integriti atau sifat-sifat baik.

Mahathir’s Last Offer To UMNO-Malay To Join Him Before Moving For The Kill...

Forget about sexy rumours that PM-in-waiting Anwar Ibrahim is moving to unseat PM Mahathir Mohamad. Also, forget about naughty speculations that Mahathir is about to install Azmin Ali, his blue-eyed boy, as the new deputy prime minister, hence destroying Anwar’s hope to become the next prime minister. They are just distractions from the real issue – the coming demise of UMNO.

The political landscape after last May General Election is absolutely delicate and unique. In a nutshell, both Anwar and Mahathir cannot afford to go for each other’s throat simply because there’s no single dominant force or political party that could call the shot. In short, gone were the days where big bully UMNO would dictate who gets the lobsters and who gets the crumbs.

The formation of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, which consists of PPBM (Bersatu), PKR, DAP and Amanah is like the epic Chinese history of “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”. Mahathir’s party, Bersatu, won only 13 seats out of the 222 Parliamentary seats. But the party managed to double to 26 seats through defections of UMNO MPs, who could not survive without cash or power.

Anwar’s PKR won 47 seats and increased that number to 50 members in the House of Representatives, also through defections. DAP, a Chinese-majority party, won 42 seats last May while Amanah captured 11 seats. Together with Sabah-based Warisan, a friendly party that possesses 9 seats, the PH government has a comfortable 138 simple majority seats in the 222-seat Parliament.

If either one of the trio – Bersatu (26 seats), PKR (50 seats) or DAP (42 seats) – breaks away from the alliance, its game over for the coalition government. Opposition supporters think UMNO (37 seats) and PAS (18 seats) are the kingmakers. They have forgotten that Sabah (25 seats) and Sarawak (31 seats), once fixed-deposit of UMNO, are the real kingmakers.

Together, Sabah and Sarawak holds 56 seats, more than the combination of seats of the new alliance of UMNO and PAS. To make things more exciting, neither PM Mahathir nor PM-in-waiting Anwar controls the 56 seats from Sabah and Sarawak. Therefore, in the case of horse trading in a power struggle, there’s no guarantee that Mahathir will win or Anwar will lose.

That’s why the battles, infightings and political manoeuvring in “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” was so popular that they were made into comics, video games, films and whatnot. Mahathir, who has offended Sabah and Sarawak by expanding into the two states, might not get the support from them if the prime minister somehow joins forces with UMNO-PAS to terminate Anwar.

Likewise, Anwar might not have the numbers if he decides to kick out the 93-year-old PM Mahathir from the corridors of power. So, when Mahathir on Friday (July 5) invited all Malay parties, including the corrupt UMNO to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM or Bersatu) in efforts to unite the Malays, it raises more questions, confusion and rumours.

Naturally, pro-UMNO supporters said the move was proof that Mahathir was desperate as Anwar is about to make his move against the world’s oldest leader. Comically, they also claimed Mahathir wanted the Malays to unite under his party because the Chinese DAP is destroying the Malays, which is quite astonishing considering DAP is being called a lapdog of Mahathir by the Chinese community.

Mahathir said – “Yes, join Bersatu. When our group is big, we become strong, but don’t stop others from joining the party (Bersatu), let them join. If we are split, we become weak, united we stand, divided we fall. We find that there are people forming new parties, now we have become six, soon there will be 10, then 100. There are 30 people in one party, How to win (the election),”

Interestingly, Deputy Prime Minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who happens to be Anwar’s wife, said on Saturday (July 6) that Mahathir’s Bersatu is not the same as UMNO even if it accepts members from the (opposition) Barisan Nasional component member or from other Malay-based parties. Wan Azizah’s comment is proof that Anwar was not making any move against the premier.

Exactly why would Wan Azizah support PM Mahathir’s invitation to Malay-based parties, including UMNO, to join Bersatu, and in the process jeopardise her husband’s journey to become the next prime minister? If indeed Anwar is about to dethrone Mahathir, should not his wife Wan Azizah criticise and condemn Mahathir’s move of inviting corrupt UMNO crooks into the government?

Clearly, Mahathir’s latest move is to make Bersatu the largest party in the coalition. If about 10 unforgivable crooks like former PM Najib Razak and former deputy PM Zahid Hamidi are stripped away, there are still 27 UMNO MPs whom can transform Bersatu as the largest party in Pakatan Harapan. With 53 seats, it will make Bersatu as strong as PKR’s 50 seats.

Heck, Pakatan will even gain a two-thirds supermajority in the Malaysian Parliament required to pass amendments to the Malaysian Constitution. With such a tool, the government can proceed to make the necessary reforms without spending too much unproductive time politicking like presently. This probably explains why Anwar’s wife was supportive of Mahathir’s controversial invitation.

Yes, Mahathir has agreed to forgive UMNO crooks who are ready to repent, never mind how insincere they are. After all, it was the same old man who admitted that even during his first stint as prime minister from 1981 to 2003, corruption happened but was manageable. So, corruption was acceptable to Mahathir as long as it does not explode to a magnitude of 10 on the Richter scale like Najib’s 1MDB.

That also explains why DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang met Mahathir earlier on for about 45 minutes, his second face-to-face meeting with the prime minister since the last general election. It was a pre-emptive meeting so that DAP leaders are prepared and do not go ballistic over the invitation to UMNO crooks to join Bersatu under the pretext of Malay unity.

Only after Bersatu has ballooned to become the largest component party in Pakatan Harapan will Mahathir confidently pass over the premiership to Anwar. It would provide the bargaining chip so that his son – Mukhriz Mahathir – would not be sidelined after Mahathir retires for good. More importantly, it explains the sudden comeback of UMNO president Zahid Hamidi.

Like the despicable Najib Razak, people like Zahid Hamidi, Tengku Adnan, Annuar Musa, Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, are not welcome to join Mahathir’s bandwagon. With record 87 corruption charges hanging around his neck, Zahid is too toxic to be accepted under the PH government. Both Najib and Zahid – two biggest crooks ever produced – can only survive on UMNO platform.

Yes, without the existence of UMNO, Najib and Zahid are “game over”. The talks were that Mohamad Hasan, UMNO deputy president and acting president while Zahid was on garden leave, was open to the idea of joining Mahathir’s bandwagon. That had spooked both Najib and Zahid, prompting the latter to make a sudden shameful comeback and loudly applauded by the former.

And yes, Mahathir’s invitation is probably his last offer for UMNO-Malay to join Bersatu before UMNO is declared illegal and de-registered. Najib and Zahid, both panicked, had to make sure existing UMNO MPs do not cross over. But cracks have begun. You know UMNO is in trouble when Khairy Jamaluddin said UMNO should give serious thought to the invitation to join hands with Bersatu.

However, there’re questions that Mahathir needs to justify. Why should UMNO, armed with 37 MPs, join under a smallish party Bersatu? What is there for the UMNO frogs to jump over? Malay unity is just a marketing gimmick. At the end of the day, it’s still the benefits – power and project – that the corrupt UMNO MPs are looking after. - FT

Here’s Why Riza Is Toast As Double 

Jeopardy Law Is Not Applicable...

Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, the stepson of former Prime Minister Najib Razak, should not look gloomy when he was brought to the Session Court today to be charged. He should do what his stepfather, or what the deputy of his stepfather – Ahmad Zahid Hamidi – did, when they were charged in court. Mr. Riza should wave and smile as if he had just won a beauty pageant or beauty contest.

Indeed, Riza, co-founder of Red Granite Pictures that produced the film “The Wolf of Wall Street”, should be proud to be the first kid of the highly corrupt former “First Family” of Malaysia to follow the footstep of his parents to be hauled to the court. Like step-daddy Najib, Riza did the family and his community proud in laundering money in excess of RM1 billion.

Najib Razak, faces 42 charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT), money laundering and abuse of power involving RM42 million linked to SRC International, a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB). He was also caught with his hand in the cookie jar – the discovery of a whopping US$681 million (RM2.6 billion) in his private bank accounts.

Mr. Najib, who was the Chairman of 1MDB, has denied any involvement in the scandal, let alone stealing any money from the funds. Instead, he has claimed that the money was donations from Saudi royal family, a claim that could not be fully substantiated. Amusingly, he was forced to make a U-turn during an hour-grilling with Al-Jazeera’s reporter Mary Ann Jolley last year.

Speaking to Al Jazeera’s 101 East in an exclusive interview on Oct 26, 2018, the “pink lips” said he actually did not verify the source of the RM2.6 billion. His new fairy tale was that he had “assumed” that the donations were connected to Saudi Arabia. The despicable Najib even lied that Saudi King Abdullah had actually wanted to give him US$800 million, but he turned it down.

Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, the real mother of Riza, was exposed to have had purchased a 22-carat pink diamond necklace – worth a stunning US$27.3 million – using money siphoned from 1MDB. According to U.S.-DOJ investigations, Jho Low had arranged for jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz (also known as “Jewish Queen of Oscar Bling”) for the pink diamond on June 2, 2013.

Today, 42-year-old Mr. Riza was charged with five counts of money-laundering US$248 million (RM1.026 billion) of funds believed to be originated from sovereign investment company 1MDB. The massive misappropriation occurred between April 12, 2011 to November 14, 2012. All the charges are under Section 4(1)(a) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001.

If convicted, a fine of up to RM5 million or a jail term of up to five years, or both could be slapped on Mr. Riza. Unlike his stepfather Najib, the trial of Riza will be absolutely exciting because the embezzlement of RM1.026 billion involved funds flowed across the border – from two bank accounts in Switzerland to a U.S. and a Singapore bank account respectively.

The trial of Riza will answer one important question that everyone has been asking – did Najib really steal money from 1MDB? Pro-Najib cybertroopers, propagandists and bloggers have been feeding misconception to the gullible and ignorant supporters that the ex-PM must be innocent because he has not been charged for stealing 1MDB money since the collapse of the regime last May.

Even now, Najib’s trial is about SRC International Sdn Bhd and not about 1MDB. As we had explained, the crimes involving SRC were the easiest part of the entire multi-billion-dollar theft concerning 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Bhd). That’s because all the transactions of transferring RM42 million to Najib’s private bank account were done locally.

The complex phases would involve foreign countries and intercontinental financial transactions. The initial plan was to put Najib on trial for embezzling money linked to SRC International first, to be followed by 1MDB. That was why Attorney-General Tommy Thomas sought to postpone (for the third time) Najib’s corruption trial involving 1MDB – the defence team kept delaying the SRC trial.

However, because Najib’s paid cybertroopers have been mocking the government for not having evidence or guts to start charging Najib in the 1MDB scandal, the timetable has been moved forward. Instead of wasting time and wait for the SRC trial to conclude, the Attorney General Chambers have decided to run the 1MDB trial now – by parading Najib’s stepson instead.

Yes, the family of crooks and their supporters should be careful what they wish for. Instead of being grateful that the 1MDB case was left in cold storage for an entire year, they foolishly asked and challenged the government to do its best to prosecute Najib and families. Now that their wish is granted and Riza has been officially charged, amusingly, they moaned, whined and bitched about something else.

“Despite the settlement in the U.S. and the fact that alleged wrongdoings occurred entirely outside of Malaysia, the MACC decides to press charges after a whole year of leaving this case in cold storage. He is not a criminal,” – said Riza Aziz’s sister Nooryana Najwa, in an Instagram post. Nooryana Najwa Najib, also known as Gina, had similarly slammed the authorities for arresting her mother, Rosmah.

True, Red Granite has paid the U.S. government US$60 million to settle claims it benefited from the 1MDB scandal, and the U.S. returned the money to Malaysia. But the fact that it agreed to a settlement speaks volumes that the films produced were financed using money misappropriated from 1MDB and channeled into bank accounts of Riza’s company Red Granite Pictures Inc.

So, which part of money laundering that a Harvard student like Gina didn’t understand? It appears that the daughter of Najib agreed that his brother had committed wrongdoings. What she tries to argue, however, was that Riza’s criminal act happened outside of Malaysia, so he is not a criminal in Malaysia hence should not be charged for laundering US$248 million (RM1.026 billion).

Wait a minute! How about the so-called “double jeopardy law”, as trumpeted by genius Harvard student Nooryana Najwa and a truckload of Najib supporters after Riza Aziz was charged with money laundering today? “Double jeopardy” says an accused person cannot be tried again on the same (or similar) charges and on the same facts.

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights recognise, under Article 14 (7), that – “No one shall be liable to be tried or punished again for an offence for which he has already been finally convicted or acquitted in accordance with the law and penal procedure of each country.” This is what the cyber troopers and propagandists of Najib wanted the people to believe.

First of all, the settlement between the U.S. government and Red Granite Pictures Inc., and Riza Aziz for that matter, was a settlement based on a “civil lawsuit” that sought to seize assets allegedly bought with money stolen from 1MDB. It was never about money laundering. Today, the charges slapped on Riza is about money laundering – a “criminal lawsuit”.

Therefore, both lawsuits are different charges altogether. Perhaps Gina has been watching too much television shows in the U.S. were the moment the bad guy gets across the border, he is safe. Section 127A of the Criminal Procedure Code actually allows Malaysian courts to punish you for committing certain crimes overseas – including (surprise!!) money laundering.

Nooryana Najwa, the favourite daughter of Najib and Rosmah, can huff and puff all she wants that his brother’s wrongdoings occurred outside of Malaysia. But there’s something called extra-territorial jurisdiction and the powerful “Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001”. The settlement with the U.S. does not give Riza the immunity from prosecution in Malaysia.

For fun’s sake, even if the U.S. had charged and punished Riza Aziz for money laundering, which the Department of Justice did not, the “double jeopardy law” does not apply to the Government of Malaysia. Why? Of the 72 signatories or 172 parties of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which recognises the “double jeopardy law”, Malaysia is not one of them (*grin*).

Yes, like the ICERD (International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination), which Najib-led UMNO political party had condemned last year, the previous government dominated by the same UMNO had not signed the treaty to ensure “double jeopardy law” is enforced. So, to scream and cry about injustice due to double jeopardy law is fabulously foolish.

Did Nooryana Najwa really think Attorney General Tommy Thomas was a fool like ex-AG Apandi Ali, who was appointed by his daddy to cleanse him of any wrongdoing in 1MDB scandal? If the government was so reckless as to charge Riza Aziz without a strong case, why was the stepson of Najib so solemn when he appeared in court to be charged. He should be grinning from ear to ear, should he not? - FT
