Najib ridiculing himself over 1MDB probe...

PRIME Minister Najib Razak is only making himself an object of ridicule globally for announcing that he has ordered an investigation into scandal-ridden 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) when he is the one who interfered and ordered investigations to be stopped.

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli, a staunch critic of 1MDB, said investors were fully aware of what was happening within the state investor.

“The Malaysian public and the world are aware of the extent of interference in the investigation. Anywhere else in the world, the prime minister would at least have been impeached for interference.

“Given the colossal losses and the debt passed to taxpayers, Najib should not take pride that 1MDB had not swallowed more money (as he gloated).

“He should have had the honour (or whatever was left of it) to resign and allow for a full royal commission to investigate the full extent of the corruption and government collusion in the 1MDB scandal,” he said in a statement to The Malaysian Insight.

Najib admitted in his speech at the Invest Malaysia Conference in Kuala Lumpur earlier today that there were clear lapses in corporate governance in 1MDB and he had ordered "unprecedented" investigations into the 1MDB scandal.

Rafizi said the extent of interference to stop the 1MDB investigation was something unprecedented as many senior government officials were replaced.

He said these included then Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, then Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail and several top MACC officials.

In removing Muhyiddin, Najib had reportedly said the decision to replace him was a difficult one but he was forced to do so to ensure unity in his Cabinet.

Abdul Gani was leading a high-level investigation into 1MDB, alongside officials from MACC, Malaysian police and Bank Negara Malaysia.

He was then replaced by Mohamed Apandi Ali, who had cleared Najib of any criminal wrongdoing in the transfer of RM2.6 billion into his personal accounts. – themalaysianinsight

Pekan terlalu banyak ‘hantu raya’...

Selepas dicabar untuk bertanding di Parlimen Pekan, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad hari ini mencabar Naib Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein supaya mencuba nasib di Langkawi.

Beliau secara sinis melahirkan rasa hairan terhadap kawasan pilihan raya yang diwakili Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak itu ekoran keadaan pengundi yang kerap berubah dalam jumlah yang besar.

“Pekan pelik sikit. Ada masa jumlah pengundi dia 35,000 orang dan Najib menang 225 undi.

“Lepas itu bila pilihan raya sekali lagi, pengundi dia meningkat sebanyak 80,000. Tak tahu dari mana datang, dia pun menang banyak ribu.

“Itu bukan kawasan pilihan raya, itu kawasan hantu raya,” katanya kepada media selepas mempengerusikan Mesyuarat Majlis Presiden Pakatan Harapan (HARAPAN).

Terlebih dahulu Tun Mahathir mengumumkan bahawa deraf perlembagaan HARAPAN telahpun dihantar kepada Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan (ROS) untuk diteliti dan diluluskan.

“Hari ini, kita (semua komponen HARAPAN) sudah setuju perlembagaan kita. Harap tak ada masalahlah,” ujar beliau.

Majlis Presiden HARAPAN bersetuju untuk melantik Naib Presiden HARAPAN, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin sebagai Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pilihan Raya.

“Kita telah tubuhkan jawatankuasa pilihan raya yang terdiri dari ketua-ketua pilihan raya (parti) masing-masing dan dipengerusikan oleh Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Wakil-wakil parti (komponen HARAPAN) akan dilantik sebagai timbalan pengerusi jawatankuasa dan akan diumum kemudian,” katanya lagi.

Mesyuarat Majlis Presiden HARAPAN hari ini turut mengumumkan Himpunan ‘Rakyat Sayangi Malaysia Hapuskan Kleptokrasi’ yang akan diadakan di Padang Timur, Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya pada 14 Oktober hadapan bermula jam 4 petang. – Roketkini.com

Intrigue over alleged payments from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to the country’s military spy chief deepened after Parliament rejected a question on the matter.

Alor Setar MP Gooi Hsiao Leung, who asked the rejected question, claimed there is a parliamentary cover-up on the matter, as well as on 1MDB.

“What we are witnessing in Parliament is a complete cover-up.

“All questions pertaining to 1MDB and the PM are disallowed – a blanket ban.

“The House is no longer a people’s House, but a House used to cover-up and hide wrongdoings by the government,” Gooi told Malaysiakini.

Gooi had wanted to ask Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (photo) whether the allegation by Sarawak Report that Najib paid RM7 million to the director-general of the Defence Staff Intelligence Division in April 2013 was true or false.

If false, Gooi’s question added, what action the minister would take to protect the integrity of the security forces from being tarnished.

However, his question was rejected under Standing Order 23(1)(c), which states that “a question shall not contain any argument, interference, opinion, imputation, epithet or misleading, ironical or offensive expression, nor shall a question be frivolous or be asked seeking information on trivial matters”.

Hishammuddin had previously said he had nothing to hide over the matter and was willing to be investigated.

At the time of the alleged payment, the defence minister was Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Sarawak Report claimed that the payment was one in a series of transactions Najib made using money allegedly transferred to him from former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

This included a question from opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who asked the prime minister if the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had initiated a probe into lawyer Shafee Abdullah.

Najib is alleged to have paid Shafee RM9.5 million with SRC-linked funds, at around the time the Shafee took the role of prosecutor in Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy II trial.

Najib has consistently denied abusing public funds, while attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali had last year cleared the prime minister of any wrongdoing regarding SRC International.

Opposition MPs claim Parliament today rejected 30 questions that touched on 1MDB and SRC.

Gooi had also asked what form of cooperation the government had given to overseas authorities probing 1MDB.
However, his question too was rejected under Standing Order 23(1)(c) and (f), which states that “a question shall not seek information about any matter which is of its nature secret”.

Using both these Standing Orders to reject his question baffled the PKR lawmaker.

“How can it be an assumption and secret at the same time? Ridiculous and absurd reasoning,” Gooi said. 

Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said today described the latest accusations levelled by the opposition that the government was trying to cover up the 1MDB scandal as "utterly baseless".

In a statement, Azalina, who is in charge of parliamentary affairs, said allegations that none of the 1MDB-related questions was answered in Dewan Rakyat today, were untrue.

The act of the opposition to blow up this issue only shows they have run out of ideas to voice out in the Parliament. Barisan Nasional (BN) mengaku akan kalah di beberapa kerusi bandar, termasuk kerusi Bukit Bintang dan Seputeh di Kuala Lumpur yang merupakan kubu kuat DAP, kata Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Naib Presiden parti berkata walaupun Umno meletakkan setiausaha agungnya, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, menentang Teresa Kok, di Seputeh, ianya tetap akan kalah.

"Sekalipun kami meletakkan Ku Nan di Seputeh tetapi yang akan menang ialah Teresa Kok. Tetapi sekarang beliau adalah Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan kerana dia masih mempunyai kerusi di kawasan bandar, "kata Zahid ketika berucap semasa merasmikan pertemuan Umno Bukit Bintang hari ini.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri menjelaskan bahawa kerusi Wilayah Persekutuan seperti Bukit Bintang dan Seputeh adalah pangkalan pengundi majoriti Cina bandar yang sukar untuk ditembusi oleh Umno.

"Seperti di Bukit Bintang, ia adalah kerusi majoriti Cina,pembangunan perbandaran berlaku di sini, "kata Ahmad Zahid.

Ahli Parlimen Bagan Datoh menambah bahawa walaupun kerusi seperti Seputeh dan Bukit Bintang tidak boleh dimenangi oleh Umno pada pilihan raya umum akan datang, jentera parti masih harus menyokong calon Barisan Nasional (BN) masing-masing.

"Pihak-pihak harus menyokong sesiapa yang mewakili Barisan Nasional. Malah di Bukit Bintang, walaupun tidak ada masa depan,yang penting kerusi itu akan dimenangi oleh orang lain, "tambah Zahid.

Beliau juga menegaskan bahawa BN hanya memenangi lima kerusi bandar di seluruh negara, termasuk Johor Baru, Setiawangsa, Titiwangsa, Wangsa Maju dan Putrajaya.

Tengku Adnan adalah penyandang kerusi parlimen Putrajaya.

Kerusi Seputeh dan Bukit Bintang secara tradisinya dipertandingkan oleh calon-calon dari MCA parti komponen BN.

Sejak 2012 lagi, Perdana Menteri Najib Razak terus menipu para peneroka kononnya wang ganjaran sebanyak RM15 ribu setiap keluarga adalah hasil daripada penyenaraian saham Felda Global Ventures (FGV) di Bursa Malaysia.

Sedangkan hakikatnya, Najib meminjam sebanyak RM6 bilion dari Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) khusus ditabur kepada para peneroka tanpa pengetahuan para pencarum KWSP sendiri.

Jadi ke manakah wang hasil daripada penyenaraian FGV yang kononnya gah sebagai penyenaraian jumlah saham kedua terbesar di dunia selepas Facebook? 

Dan hari ini enam lagi 'insentif tambahan' yang sebenarnya gula-gula pilihanraya menyerang peneroka kononnya hasil kerja keras mereka yang setia dengan Felda.

Padahal sekali lagi wang rakyat bakal dihanguskan Najib entah berapa bilion pula yang kena semata-mata mahu memancing peneroka menjelang pilihanraya.

Janji Rafizi Ramli dalam sidang Parlimen esok sudah pasti akan menyerang Najib sama ada dia berani menjawab dari manakah datangnya wang untuk membayar kesemua enam insentif berkenaan.

Kita saksikan bersama esok apakah Najib sekali lagi kantoi dengan pendedahan Rafizi di Dewan Rakyat dan boleh terlepas dengan fakta serta angka yang sukar disangkal hatta Noh Omar sekalipun! - f/bk zulimran.n

Is MO1 Lying...

I received this picture. Folks say MO1 had been campaigning on Tioman Island. As usual the idiot is super happy that he gets to meet more and more Malays who are poor. 

Here he "gave away" rakyat termiskin houses to even more Malay rakyat termiskin. Looks like under the idiot's leadership every other Malay has become a rakyat termiskin.

But you have to pay attention to the numbers he is mentioning.  Quite unbelievable. Obviously more stealing is happening.

First of all he says that the 'PPR'  (Projek Perumahan Rakyat) was 92% subsidised ! ! ! Fuiyyo ! !

He says the house has a 'harga asal RM403,000' per unit but it has been given to the rakyat termiskin at RM35,000 only ! ! ! So the gomen must do this for all other "rakyat termiskin Melayu dan bukan Melayu" all around the country.   

What is so special about 'rakyat termiskin' in Pulau Tioman?  Rakyat termiskin is rakyat termiskin. The gomen must give a 92% subsidy for PPR houses in Kedah, Johor, Sabah, Terengganu, Kelantan, Selangor etc.

But  look at the house. The construction is so shoddy. This is 3rd class construction. Rumah Kelas Tiga.  The roof is glavanised iron sheets. In Malay galvanised iron is "rumah atap zinc" or "bumbung zinc". Look at the picture above. I have outlined in red colour.

Then look at the flooring.The flooring is plain cement render No ceramic tiles or concrete stamping for the car porch or apron. I have outlined in blue. Some crony built this "rumah atap zinc" for RM403,000 ! ! They are just stealing. 

This house is hardly 1000 square feet in size. Assuming it is 1000 sf in size, then the cost per square foot is RM403,000 / 1000 sf = RM403 per square foot ! ! ! Construction cost RM403 psf ! ! This is an insane price.  

Ajaib tapi benar!Lain kali kalu nak buat contractor UMNO kaya pon...buat diam diamlah! Jangan pergi heboh seluruh Malaysia!

Folks look at this villa. It was built near Bangi.(pic.below)  

Built up area just over 5000 square feet. 5 spacious bedrooms with 5 attached bathrooms, living area, dining area, dry and wet kitchen, maids rooms with bathroom, back terrace, covered courtyard etc. With 40 foot swimming pool, solar heated hot water in all rooms etc. Floor to ceiling tiles in all bathrooms, 14 foot high ceilings, quality wooden flooring inside, heavy duty anti slip ceramic tiles outside.

Outside the house the swimming pool, pool deck and covered courtyard is another 3000 square feet.Total livable space is 8000 sf. The total construction cost was RM800,000. (Does not include land cost). Not joking.  I know because I was involved in this project.

But in Tioman they have built 1000 square foot size 'rumah setinggan atap zinc' for RM403,000 a piece.  They are stealing. My estimation is the construction cost of those Tioman houses will hardly exceed RM100 psf. 

So 1000 sf x RM100 = RM100,000 only (inclusive of developers profit). Even if my estimate is 50% mistaken, just add another RM50,000. It is still only RM150,000.

I doubt the land cost is more than RM25 psf in Tioman. Lets just put the land cost at TWICE the amount, say RM50,000. The cost of this 'rumah bumbung zinc' should not exceed RM200,000 per unit (including developers profit).  But Najib says the houses cost RM403,000 ! ! ! 

What is happening is the thieves are making money at the expense of the rakyat. Including the taxpayers, the ordinary citizens and the poor people.

First they find poor people. Then they build 3rd class 1000 sf 'squatter houses with galvanised iron roofs'.  Then they tell the poor people, 'This is a GIFT for you'. We have subsidised 92% of the price. You only pay RM35,000.

This means the gomen pays the contractor RM403k - RM35k = RM368k. Kroni untung. That is our money. Taxpayers money. Whoever the developer / contractor is has made a ton of money. We the taxpayers get suckered because they use our money to overpay for bumbung zinc squatter house type dwellings. 

Then they tell the poor people to pay RM35,000 for these houses and tell tem 'This is a gift for you'. The poor do not know how to calculate or figure things out. That is why it is best to keep them poor. Then you can cheat them.- ostb

Najib Panics as Mahathir 

Could Return As PM Again...

Najib son of Razak tries to put on a brave face. Initially, he tried but couldn’t. It would take hours for the PR team at Putrajaya to “train” the Malaysian prime minister – psychologically and mentally – not to look nervous and panic. They found that the best way is for Mr. Najib to smile – a lot – so that the UMNO warlords would not see how worry their big boss really is.

So from now onwards, expect to see tons of smiles from Najib Razak, as if he was on heavy makeup like a clown would normally put. In reality, Prime Minister Najib Razak is fabulously panicked and terrified. He hadn’t seen this coming. His greatest enemies – opposition de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and mentor-turned-enemy Mahathir Mohamad have joined forces – for real!

True, in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests. Still, the “bad blood” between Mr. Anwar and Mr. Mahathir was so thick that not even Taylor Swift’s song could melt it. After all, it was then Prime Minister Mahathir who accused and declared his Deputy Prime Minister Anwar guilty of sodomy and homosexual acts, essentially thrown him in jail.

For Anwar and Mahathir to kiss and become a tag-team (again) since 1998, it speaks volumes about a bigger and nastier enemy – Najib Razak. But were Anwar and Mahathir saints in the first place? Let’s call a spade a space. Both individuals practiced corruption, nepotism, cronyism and even racism when they were on the throne of powers.

However, at least when Anwar and Mahathir plunder the national coffers, they made sure for every dollar they took, the country could generate two dollars. On the contrary, Najib and Auntie Rosie will take two dollars for every dollar their regime could generate. That’s why the country’s foreign debt is approaching RM1-trillion. But that’s not the worst part.

The worst part is despite abolishing subsidies for petrol, diesel, sugar, cooking oil, electricity tariffs, water and whatnot, Najib regime somehow still couldn’t find the money to run the government efficiently. The son of Razak practically steals rice from a beggar’s bowl when he introduced 6% GST (goods and services tax) on 1 April 2015.

By jailing Anwar Ibrahim (for the second time for the same crime of sodomy), and bribed the so-called God-fearing PAS (Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party) with RM90 million, Najib thought the opposition was toast. Now with the emergence of Mahathir driving a new opposition coalition – Pakatan Harapan (Hope’s Pact) – Najib regime has plunged into panic and disarray.

How can you tell that Najib’s Barisan Nasional (National Front) coalition is running out of panic buttons to push? It’s simple: look at the reaction of the prime minister’s bootlickers. When Mahathir finally revealed (over the weekend) the opposition coalition’s new logo, flag and leadership structure, Najib’s top bootlicker Salleh Said Keruak went ballistic babbling about DAP not holding any top positions.

Like it or not, the 92-year-old old fox Mahathir has demonstrated his awesome political skills once again. It was by design that DAP was deliberately not included in the top three positions in Pakatan Harapan’s new line-up. Anwar would probably put a Malay from PKR, an Islamic spiritual leader from PAS and a Chinese from DAP, just to satisfy everyone.

As a former prime minister who had ruled for 22 years, Mahathir knew the next 14th general election, which will have to happen on or before 24 August 2018, will be fought based on racial cards. Najib will run a campaign so racist that it would make Donald Trump looks like he was a long lost brother of King Salman. Therefore, rural ethnic-Malay voters cannot be spooked by Chinese in the line-up.

That explains why Mr. Salleh Said Keruak was so upset that no Chinese DAP was in the line-up. Mahathir was named as chairman while Anwar was declared de-facto leader. Anwar’s wife, Wan Azizah, was proclaimed president of the opposition coalition. All three are Malay-Muslims to convince the folks in Malay villages that the coming election is a fight among Malay-Muslims.

By putting DAP at backstage, retired Mahathir could lead an easier charge against super-corrupt Najib without having to worry about allegations that ethnic-Chinese is taking over the country. After all, how could a Chinese becomes prime minister when the top three positions in Pakatan Harapan’s new line-up are made up of Malay-Muslims?

The clearest sign pointing to Najib’s panic mode was when the prime minister himself, supposedly very confident of winning big in the 14th nationwide election, had to travel hundreds of kilometres away at night to Sembrong in the state of Johor practically begging and bribing for votes. He brought along heavyweights like Hishammuddin Hussein and Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

It would be just an ordinary Hari Raya open house if not for the fact that Sembrong is the parliamentary seat of Najib’s cousin Hishammuddin. The defence minister won the seat in 2013 with a majority of 10,631 votes or 63.7% of total votes. It has been UMNO’s traditional stronghold. Using his favourite “you help me, I help you” tactic to fish for votes, was Najib signalling that even Sembrong could fall?

The battle has actually begun, even before Mr. Najib could call for a snap election. While Mahathir has declared that the highly unpopular GST would be scrapped, Najib’s shining star Khairy Jamaluddin (Youth and Sports Minister) plays with another racist topic – provoking the sensitive issue of abolishing vernacular school – hoping it would start a Malay-vs-Chinese war.

Nazri Aziz, the badass who was the most racist minister under previous Mahathir administration, also went bonkers by suggesting both Mahathir and Anwar would kill each other. When even Nazri was speechless that both enemies could become best friends again, you don’t need a rocket scientist to tell how terrified and panicked Najib and his boys are.

Heck, Mr. Nazri was so worry with the latest development that he actually suggested Jamal Yunos, a gangster who tried to terrorize Chinatown but was stopped by China’s ambassador to Malaysia Huang Huikang, should be made UMNO Youth Chief. Has UMNO run out of talents or was Nazri running Najib’s errand of preparing for racial riots, in case they lose?

PM Najib had the cheek to shamelessly declare that the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is a gift to the people, when in fact the mega project was built using taxpayers’ money. He should instead prove that Saudi Arabia had indeed “gifted” him with US$700 million cash. Likewise, his wife should prove that she hadn’t purchased a RM117 million 22-carat pink diamond necklace using money siphoned from 1MDB.

Anwar Ibrahim had his opportunity but failed to capture the federal government in 2013. Now, Mahathir is the only person left who could charm the simple-minded Malay folks. With Chinese votes basically in the bag, the battle is for Malay support. Lelaki pandu lawan arus rempuh 5 kereta...

Beberapa pemandu kenderaan mengalami kecederaan selepas 5 kereta bertembung dengan sebuah kereta dipandu secara melawan arus di Kilometer 116 dan 123.4 menghala utara di Lebuhraya Utara Selatan di Bertam di sini awal pagi ini.

Dalam kemalangan kira-kira pukul 1.30 pagi itu, pemandu kereta jenis Volkswagen yang melawan arus turut mengalami kecederaan patah tangan kanan manakala pemandu yang lain cedera ringan dan menerima rawatan di Hospital Kepala Batas (HKB).

Bagaimanapun, seorang penunggang motosikal Naim Halidan, 30, yang berada di laluan bertentangan maut selepas dia terjatuh ke dalam longkang di tengah pembahagi jalan ketika cuba menyeberangi lebuh raya itu bagi memberi bantuan kepada mangsa kemalangan berkenaan.

Ketua Polis Daerah Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) ACP Azmi Adam berkata kemalangan itu berlaku apabila pemandu kereta Volkswagen berkenaan yang sedang memandu dari arah Butterworth ke Sungai Petani, Kedah secara tiba-tiba membuat pusingan U di laluan yang sama di Kilometer 116 lebuh raya tersebut.

Beliau berkata tindakan lelaki berusia 31 tahun yang bekerja sebagai peniaga itu telah mengundang padah apabila kenderaannya bertembung dengan 3 kereta lain di lokasi berkenaan.

“Lelaki itu tidak berhenti di situ malah terus memandu sebelum keretanya sekali lagi melanggar 2 kereta lain di Kilometer 124.3,” katanya ketika dihubungi di sini hari ini.

Azmi berkata semua kenderaan yang terlibat dalam kemalangan itu mengalami kerosakan teruk dan dipercayai suspek memandu laju semasa kejadian itu.

Katanya, mayat lelaki yang terjatuh ke dalam longkang turut dibawa ke HKB untuk bedah siasat.

“Polis akan menjalankan ujian dadah dan alkohol ke atas pemandu kereta Volkswagen itu bagi siasatan lanjut serta kes berkenaan disiasat menurut Seksyen 43(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 kerana memandu secara cuai dan merbahaya,” katanya.

Kemalangan itu merupakan kejadian ke-2 melibatkan kenderaan yang dipandu secara melawan arus di Pulau Pinang.

Mesra UMNO-PAS bukan politik matang,

tapi politik $$$...

Datuk Zaid Ibrahim mempersoalkan alasan “politik matang” yang kerap diberikan Presiden PAS Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang dalam menjelaskan perubahan sikap parti itu terhadap Umno, sambil berkata ia lebih menjurus kepada “politik wang”.

“Mereka tidak berminat untuk membela manusia yang memerlukan pertolongan, tetapi hanya memperjuangkan ideologi songsang.

“Politik matang sepatutnya dapat memperkuatkan modal insan bangsa Melayu, membasmi kemiskinan orang Melayu, dan memberi pelajaran yang baik kapada bangsa Melayu,” kata Zaid kepada FMT baru-baru ini.

Bekas menteri itu berkata perkembangan di kalangan orang Melayu kebelakangan ini menunjukkan Umno dan PAS cuba mengelirukan masyarakat itu dengan membawa agenda seperti hukuman syariah, sedangkan golongan atasan dan elit masih terlepas pelbagai tindakan pihak berkuasa Islam.

“Ia hanya drama untuk mengelirukan rakyat. Sudah berapa ramai orang atasan dikenakan hukuman ini? Siapa dari pihak atasan yang dihukum sebat kerana minum arak, berkhalwat dan mencuri harta kerajaan?”

Hadi merupakan antara pemimpin kanan PAS yang mempertahankan dasar PAS yang dilihat lebih mesra Umno, dan beberapa kali menekankan perubahan sikap itu sebahagian daripada “budaya politik matang” oleh parti Islam itu.

“Ini adalah sebahagian daripada cara politik matang yang tidak jumud dan degil tanpa perhitungan. Politik mencari kawan sebanyak mungkin bukannya berlawan secara fanatik,” kata Hadi dalam salah satu daripada penulisannya.

‘Kepincangan Melayu diabaikan’

Zaid berkata ketika Melayu berdepan pelbagai kepincangan ekonomi dan sosial, Umno dan PAS lebih gemar memperjuangkan dasar yang tidak “konkrit dan relevan”, seperti membina lebih banyak masjid dan memperkenalkan hukuman syariah lebih berat.

“Satu pertiga pelajar universiti tidak mengetahui dan memahami nilai asas manusia sejagat,” katanya, merujuk kajian Institut Integriti Malaysia baru-baru ini yang mendapati sebahagian besar pelajar di beberapa buah universiti awam tidak menganggap perbuatan rasuah seperti sogokan hadiah sebagai satu kesalahan.

“Yang benar dan yang salah dikelirukan. Mereka menganggap rasuah itu bukan satu kesalahan yang sepatutnya dikutuk,” kata Zaid kepada FMT.

Zaid berkata majoriti yang terlibat masalah seperti pengangguran, kehamilan luar nikah, beban hutang dan salah guna dadah ialah orang Melayu.

Beliau turut merujuk kejadian seorang ayah kepada 7 orang anak, Mohd Irwan Omar, yang membunuh diri dipercayai akibat kesempitan wang dan kemungkinan terlibat dadah, di Pulau Pinang baru-baru ini.

Zaid mempersoalkan sumbangan PAS dan Umno ketika ramai orang Melayu dan Islam dibelenggu kemiskinan dan masalah sosial lain.

“Apakah yang dilakukan kedua-dua parti politik Melayu-Islam ini” soalnya.

“Sebenarnya politik Umno dan PAS tidaklah matang sama sekali. Malah kita boleh sifatkan ia politik murahan dan cetek yang tidak menonjolkan kekuatan perjuangan, tetapi hanya kekuatan wang ringgit dan kuasa.” - fmt

Turning the judiciary into 

a Kangaroo court...

1.It has become the habit of the Najib Government to get the administrators to support and to implement everything that Najib instructs them to do and ask no question.

2. Of course for the government to function it is necessary that the executive branch executes the directives or decisions of the government in a democracy.

3. But a democracy also divides the powers necessary for governance between the legislature (Parliament), the executive (the permanent administration) and the judiciary.

4. This division of powers is essential in order to check on the excesses of any branch. Obedience to the directives of the legislator does not extend to implementing clearly illegal acts.

5. Should the directives go beyond the provision of the law and should the executives implement the directives then the judiciary may intervene so as to stop the implementation. The executive branch is clearly within its rights to refuse execution if the directive is against the law in any way.

6. The appointments of top executives are made by the YDP Agong on the advice of the Prime Minister or an accredited member of the cabinet. It is very possible for the PM or Minister to give wrong advice. This instills fear among top executives for their position. For the weak among them the wisest thing to do is to obey the PM whether the directive is proper or not.

7. And so we are seeing top officers complying even with improper instructions to avoid the displeasure of the Prime Minister. Effectively this means the power of the head of the legislative overrides the power of the executive.

8. But there is still the judiciary, including the Attorney-General. For the public to have faith in the judiciary if must be seen to be impartial and free from the power of the top legislators, the PM.

9. The appointments to the judiciary are governed by the constitution, rules and procedures, so that there would be no suspicions that the appointments are influenced by the political heads of the government.

10. If these laws, rules and procedures are adhered to, the trust in the judiciary by the public is ensured. But when there is deviation or interference by the political head of Government which results in the laws, rules and procedures being ignored, then the credibility of the judiciary is lost.   Continue reading... - chedet

A tale of two Prime Ministers...

This is exactly how it should be done. This is what you do if you have nothing to hide. This is undoubtedly a man of honour with impeccable integrity. Singapore's PM  Lee Hsien Loong not only apologised for the conduct of others but has also called on the entire nation and all members of the Singapore parliament, irrespective of party affiliations, to examine him. 

Singapore must be proud of her Prime Minister who is man enough to grab the bull by its horn and face his critics, even if the critics are just siblings. 

It may be a personal issue but Lee Hsien Loong is wise enough to note that his family feud has tarnished the seat of the prime minister and the government of Singapore. Such is his respect and responsibility to the office of the Prime Minister.

His Loong's late father Mr Lee Kuan Yew would certainly be proud of his eldest son for walking in his footsteps, for standing tall with his morals intact. 

Bravo Mr Prime Minister !

Meanwhile Malaysians on this side of the causeway are hoping that Hsien Loong's counterpart would take a leaf or two from his conduct as a leader, prime minister and an elected representative of the people. 

In Malaysia the state of affairs are very different although Najib Razak the Prime Minister is embroiled in a far more serious scandal which is criminal in nature. 

1MDB's international financial scandal and the US Department of Justice (Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative unit) investigations is now world news. 

Malaysia's international image today is at its lowest ebb. Almost every international news outlets from Australia to Africa and Europe have been reporting the biggest kleptocracy scandal in the history of the USA. The root of the scandal is in Malaysia and Najib Razak is very much in the midst of it. DoJ has all the evidence.

Billions of ringgit in funds stolen from 1MDB have been laundered in the US and investigations show that RM2.6billion has made its way into Najib Razak's personal bank account. DoJ has also exposed a more than RM100 million pink diamond link to Najib's wife Rosmah.  

In Singapore the prime minister has apologised over a personal family feud and presented himself for public scrutiny but in Malaysia the embattled prime minister's lackeys are screaming at the top of their voice demanding to know who reported the crime to DoJ. 

In Singapore the prime minister has called on all Members of Parliament to scrutinise/debate the handling of his family feud and the matter's negative impact on his position and that of the government.

In Malaysia the Auditor General's report on 1MDB has been classified a secret under the Official Secrets Act although such classifications of an AG's report is unheard of and could most probably be against the constitution. 

The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat in the Malaysian parliament even threatened to quit if the 1MDB scandal was debated in the house. Any debate on the matter was later disallowed on the pretext of being subjudice. 

In Malaysia the prime minister is bending over backwards to politicise the 1MDB scandal although its is purely criminal in nature. 

The Attorney General who acts more like the prime minister's counsel has unilaterally cleared Najib Razak of any wrongdoing despite RM2.6 billion dollars making its way into Najib's personal account. 

A multi agency task force that initially investigated the 1MDB scandal was also disbanded and the then Attorney General sacked. 

Hsien Loong of Singapore too could have attempted to silence his critics and threaten to sue anybody who deliberated on his family feud on social media but he did not. Probably he didn't have anything to hide. 

The Singapore PM came out to clear the air because 'he is a public servant' but Najib has gone to court to argue that as Prime Minister he is not a public servant. 

In Malaysia exposing the 1MDB scandal and the theft of billions of ringgit in public funds is treated as crime. Whistle blowers and critics are taunted and hunted. 

Instead of wanting to nail the thieves who robbed the nation the ruling party's political operatives and lackeys are questioning who reported the crime. 

Whistle blowers are branded as traitors in a climate where truth is treated with contempt.

I dont know how long it is going to take before the Kampong Boys in Putrajaya, in Khazanah and the Majlis Tertinggi Bodoh realise that the country is "literally" shutting down. 

The GST and the Minimum Wages have increased costs ABOVE MALAYSIA'S AVERAGE PRODUCTIVITY.  

Vietnam and Thailand have NOT BECOME more competitive  than Malaysia. 

It is our costs that have increased. Therefore it is more expensive to make things in Malaysia now.

Can we catch up and improve our productivity?  No we cannot. Why not?

Our education system sucks. A majority of our students know more about having sex with 72 virgins in heaven than  how to be a good worker or a good salesperson.
