UMNO dok jerit,"Hidup Melayu",Yeo Jiawei balun RM74 juta...

Walaupun Malaysia menewaskan Singapura dari segi rekod mendapat derma, kita pula kalah kepada Singapura dari segi kepantasan mendakwa mereka yang terbabit mencuri wang rakyat Malaysia melalui 1MDB. Sejak beberapa minggu lepas, perbicaraan terhadap bekas pegawai bank BSI yang menjadi tempat wang 1MDB disimpan terus berjalan dan mendapat liputan meluas.

Minggu ini giliran seorang anak muda bernama Yeo Jiawei yang mengaturkan urusan menjaga wang Jho Low disamping menguruskan wang 1MDB.

Mahkamah Singapura minggu ini mendapat tahu bagaimana dalam tempoh 15 bulan, anak muda berumur awal 30an ini mengumpul harta RM74 juta hasil dari pelbagai komisen dan keuntungan hasil dari kerja-kerja yang dia aturkan dalam urusan kewangan Jho Low dan 1MDB.

Saya tidak faham orang Melayu yang masih bencikan Cina, India dan kaum lain atas hujah mesti mempertahankan Melayu. Yang menggunakan Facebook untuk memaki hamun dan mengeluarkan kata-kata kesat terhadap kaum lain.

Kalau alasannya orang Cina kurang ajar - Islam tidak mengajar kita mengikuti perkara buruk. Kalau betul orang Cina menghina Islam/Melayu, maka jawablah secara berhemah dengan tujuan mendidik.

Kalau alasannya untuk mempertahankan kebajikan orang Melayu supaya tidak menjadi pengemis di negeri sendiri - skandal 1MDB jelas menunjukkan yang berboros dan menyeleweng wang rakyat adalah orang Melayu, yang memilih orang Cina untuk membantu. Yang kaya di luar negara seperti Singapura adalah bukan Melayu.

Yang Cina yang kenyang hanya seorang itu sahaja. Yang disalahkan dengan pelbagai tuduhan semua sedangkan kerajaan yang Perdana Menterinya Melayu tidak pula menangkap seorang Cina yang kenyang itu.

Yang mendapat musibah akibat dari 2-3 orang Melayu dan Cina di atas menyelewengkan wang rakyat adalah semua orang: rakyat pelbagai bangsa dari yang Melayu, Cina, India, Iban, Kadazan.

IGP: Maria’s detention due to 

documents found during raid...

Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah’s detention under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act is not politically-motivated or related to the recent rally, said inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar.

Stressing on the need to clear the "confusion" surrounding this matter, he said Maria was arrested following the discovery of "documents" during a raid at the Bersih office in Petaling Jaya last week.

However, Khalid declined to elaborate on the documents.

"There were enough reasons for us to investigate her under Section 124C of the Penal Code, so we arrested her after the raid.

"... We arrested her and the investigation procedure is being carried out under Sosma," he told a press conference at KLIA after returning from an official trip to Manila.

"The arrest has nothing to with politics. Nothing to do with Bersih 5. It (the arrest) was for a potential threat to national security," he explained.

Section 124C concerns attempts to carry out activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

Bersih is being investigated under Section 124C for receiving funds from Open Society Foundations, linked to billionaire George Soros.

"The investigation procedure is under Sosma in order to unravel all evidence, computers and documents seized.

"We all know what is the OSF and how many countries that it had 'toppled' in its own ways," he said.

Khalid clarified that Sosma, unlike the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015, has a wider scope and could be used against other forms of threats to national security.

'Police followed lock-up rules'

At the same time, Khalid also responded to criticisms over conditions of Maria's detention in solitary confinement.

"I deny that we’re treating her badly. Whatever treatment we give her is the same as other detainees.

"Why is her solitary confinement being disputed? If we place two people or five people in a cell there would also be complaints," he said, pointing out the most important aspect would be that police have acted in accordance with lockup rules.

On concerns over Maria's health, Khalid said she has been supplied with her medications and that a doctor is on standby 24-hours-a-day for all prisoners.

He also said that Maria needs to request for a mattress, after it was highlighted that she was sleeping on a wooden board.

Aside from her son who had lodged a police report on conditions of her arrest, the Malaysian Bar have also described her detention as "inhumane".- mk

The fact that your staff was able to find and spot the key documentation that led to Maria Chin's arrest - I must say this is exceptional and highly efficient work. Now that DoJ has given evidence (coincidentally, in a form of document too, but open to public) and accusations that MO1 played a big role in 1MDB related kleptocracy, indicated that MO1 might have the act of treason! What have you done and what are you waiting for?

More than seven countries have compelling reasons to investigate and indict the perpetrators behind the 1MDB mega scandal, but the IGP closed all investigations within Malaysia and continues to drag his feet. Now he says that he has reason to arrest and persecute Maria, a champion of social justice and non-violence, under the draconian Sosma law because he found "some documents". So the IGP can find these "documents" so quickly and conveniently, but he cannot find a single evidence against the 1MDB perpetrators when seven countries have found a high amount of evidence to implicate them. Clearly the IGP has zero credibility and integrity. May God's justice and truth prevail in this country.

Kenapa usul Hadi diterangkan Zahid...

Tindakan Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi memberi taklimat berkenaan usul Rang Undang-undang (RUU) Mahkamah Syariah (Bidang Kuasa Jenayah) atau Akta 355 bagi pihak Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi dianggap seperti "ada udang di sebalik batu".

Perkembangan itu juga dilihat Anggota Parlimen (MP) Shah Alam Khalid Samad sebagai bukti wujudnya kerjasama antara PAS dengan Umno.

Katanya, sangat menghairankan apabila usul persendirian itu datang daripada Abdul Hadi (PAS-Marang) tetapi yang mengadakan majlis taklimat mengenainya - walaupun atas kapasiti peribadi - adalah Ahmad Zahid.

“Ia menunjukkan ada udang di sebalik batu, ada tanda tanya politik yang perlu kita baca dan faham sejak awal lagi… ia ada kepentingan politik,” katanya kepada pemberita di lobi parlimen hari ini.

Semalam Malaysiakini melaporkan Ahmad Zahid yang juga timbalan perdana menteri menghantar jemputan kepada anggota parlimen beragama Islam untuk menghadiri sesi perjumpaan dan taklimat berhubung usul dibawa Abdul Hadi.

Taklimat itu turut disertai oleh Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

Selepas pertemuan itu Ahmad Zahid mengesahkan usul dibawa presiden PAS untuk meminda Akta 355 itu akan dibentangkan sama ada hari ini atau esok.

Sesi persidangan Dewan Rakyat kali ini akan berakhir esok.

Mengapa tiada MP bukan Islam

Khalid yang juga pengarah komunikasi Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH) berkata perkembangan yang berlaku semalam adalah bukti wujud kerjasama erat antara pembawa usul itu (Abdul Hadi) dengan kerajaan.

"Kita hairan kerajaan bersetuju dengan usul itu. (Jika ia memang dipersetujui) kenapa kerajaan sendiri tak bawa?

Mengulas lanjut Khalid berkata sebelum ini Jamil Khir membangkitkan bahawa timbul kekeliruan di kalangan orang bukan Islam mengenai cadangan pindaan Akta 355 itu.

“Jamil Khir kata ada banyak kekeliruan dan salah faham khususnya orang bukan Islam mengenai RUU 355.

“Kalau itu keadaannya kenapa MP bukan Islam tidak dijemput? Dalam keadaan begitu (ia seakan-akan) menunjukkan orang Islam sedang berkomplot.

“Ia akan menimbulkan salah faham dan buruk sangka. Banyak salah faham (tetapi) kenapa MP bukan Islam tidak dijemput bersama,” katanya. - mk

1. The meeting of the Muslim MPs and Zahid Hamidi (DPM) and Jamil Khir (PMO - Islam) focused on Hadi's Private Member's Bill (RUU 355) or the Hudud Bill.

2. Many opposition Muslim MPs (excluding PAS) did not agree with the no limit of sentencing in Hadi's bill. Appears to be the only issue brought up. Jamil Khir said that the Govt agreed that there must be a limit.

3. Jamil Khir welcomed views to have fines limited up to max RM100k, max 100 lashes and max 30 years imprisonment.

4. So PAS' Hadi will incorporate these views when he presents his amendment on Thursday.

5. Will it be debated? No. There will be no debate on it, i.e., there will be no voting as well. The meeting did not say whether the amendment of the bill will be led by the UMNO-led Govt or Hadi himself. What we know so far is that the Hudud Bill will definitely be brought up this week. But "akan dipinda dulu" to iron out issues. That means, the DEBATE IS EXPECTED IN THE NEXT SITTING!!

6. Both Sabah and Sarawak Muslim MPs informed that they have instructions from their respective states NOT to support the bill.

7. The Muslim MPs think that non-Muslim MPs should be invited for discussion. There will be another meeting that includes non Muslim MPS, Zahid says. He will bring up to cabinet to set up a Select Committee to explain to non-Muslim MPs. Once PM is back, he will raise this in Cabinet, most probably this Friday.

8. *Conclusion*: Bottom line is that *Hadi will be allowed to present his Private Member’s bill, but the Hudud Bill won't be tabled at this Parliamentary Sitting but at the next Sitting*. Jamil Khir agreed to announce the proposal for the formation of a Select Committee on the amendment to RUU 355, to study the entire thing and it will include non-Muslim MPs.

Are they willing to sell their convictions for continued favours from their Umno masters or are they bold enough to stand up to be men and women of honour? Are they going to hide their faces in shame because they kowtow to their Umno masters or will they walk tall because they have the courage to be true to their principles? The eyes of all Malaysians are on them.

It's an overcast day in Parliament. At around 11.30 am, I learnt that Zahid Hamidi has written a letter to all Muslim MPs inviting them to a special briefing on the hudud 355 bill at 5 pm.

This is the strongest indicator that the infamous hudud bill will more likely than not, see the light of day either tomorrow or Thursday. 

This UMNO - PAS romance has been building for years since the passing of the well respected Tok Guru Nik Aziz.

Under Hadi Awang, we saw Amanah breaking away to form a new party. Under Hadi Awang, we have seen a real closeness between PAS and UMNO. 

Lately in Parliament, we have seen how PAS indirectly supported the UMNO Budget by abstaining from voting. Then last weekend, PAS did not take part in Bersih 5. Now we wait and see if UMNO is about to return the favour to PAS by supporting hudud in the next two days.

I am in the PKR conference room. I just bumped into Joseph Kurup in the lift heading up. He was there to meet several MCA leaders. This may be a last attempt by some BN members to stop the 5pm meeting. The urgency suggests that BN component parties may not have been consulted about this.

Malaysia’s 1MDB scandal -

It is more than two years since Malaysians began asking awkward questions about 1MDB, a state-owned investment firm from which billions of dollars are missing. But Malaysia has yet to prosecute anyone in connection with the scandal, perhaps the gravest in its history. Instead, on November 14th a local court handed a prison sentence to Rafizi Ramli, an outspoken opposition politician who has done much to educate the public about the affair. If Mr Rafizi’s appeal is rejected he will spend 18 months in jail.

Mr Rafizi’s offence was to leak details from a report into 1MDB’s dealings which had been produced by Malaysia’s auditor-general, but which the government had declared classified. Mr Rafizi had publicised a brief passage from the report to support speculation that the state firm’s massive losses could have delayed certain payments to Malaysian veterans (the organisations involved reject this claim). The government had initially promised that the auditor-general’s report would be released to the public in full, as is the convention. Now it is using the Official Secrets Act to silence those who refer to it.

Mr Rafizi’s conviction may prevent him from defending his parliamentary seat at the next general election. It adds to a string of legal battles hampering the opposition, which is readying for polls that may be called next year. Anwar Ibrahim, the opposition leader, has been imprisoned since 2015 on flimsy sodomy charges. A corruption case is presently being pressed against Lim Guan Eng, the chief minister of Penang (an opposition stronghold).

The whitewash in Malaysia contrasts with dogged investigations continuing abroad. On November 11th a banker who had handled some of 1MDB’s money was convicted in Singapore of forgery and of failing to report suspicious transactions; he was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail. In July investigators from America’s Department of Justice alleged that more than $3.5bn had been “misappropriated” from 1MDB, and that hundreds of millions of dollars had been paid to Malaysia’s prime minister, Najib Razak.

Mr Najib denies wrongdoing. Having last year purged critics from his party, his position looks secure; an aide boasts that the prime minister is matey with Donald Trump, America’s president-elect. In a typically brazen response to questions from the Nikkei Asian Review, published the day after Mr Rafizi’s sentencing, the prime minister said that Malaysian authorities had “led the way” in investigating allegations of wrongdoing linked to 1MDB. I was wondering how come THE MORON could have made such a 'kurang ajar' statement to the Japanese media, saying that :

It was a written response, which means it was 100% written by someone else from his Media Team.

The Economist labels it a "brazen response".   Brazen means 'dont care about the consequences'. In Malay 'saya peduli apa'. Tak ada malu.

While Chinese home buyers have sent prices soaring from Vancouver to Sydney, in this corner of Southeast Asia it’s China’s developers that are swamping the market, pushing prices lower with a glut of hundreds of thousands of new homes. They’re betting that the city of Johor Bahru, bordering Singapore, will eventually become the next Shenzhen. 

“These Chinese players build by the thousands at one go, and they scare the hell out of everybody,” said Siva Shanker, head of investments at Axis-REIT Managers Bhd. and a former president of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents. “God only knows who is going to buy all these units, and when it’s completed, the bigger question is, who is going to stay in them?”

The Chinese companies have come to Malaysia as growth in many of their home cities is slowing, forcing some of the world’s biggest builders to look abroad to keep erecting the giant residential complexes that sprouted across China during the boom years. They found a prime spot in this special economic zone, three times the size of Singapore, on the southern tip of the Asian mainland.

“The Chinese are attracted by lower prices and the proximity to Singapore,” said Alice Tan, Singapore-based head of consultancy and research at real-estate brokers Knight Frank LLP. “It remains to be seen if the upcoming supply of homes can be absorbed in the next five years.” 

The influx of Chinese competition has affected local developers like UEM Sunrise Bhd., Sunway Bhd. and SP Setia Bhd., who have been building projects around JB for years as part of a government plan to promote the area. First-half profit slumped 58 percent at UEM, the largest landowner in JB. 

A decade ago, Malaysia decided to leverage Singapore’s success by building the Iskandar zone across the causeway that connects the two countries. It was modeled on Shenzhen, the neighbor of Hong Kong that grew from a fishing village to a city of 10 million people in three decades. Malaysian sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd. unveiled a 20-year plan in 2006 that required a total investment of 383 billion ringgit ($87 billion).

Seringkali Melayu Umno menuduh DAP sebagai sebuah parti komunis oleh manusia yang malas membaca dan tidak tahu pun hujung pangkal ideologi DAP sebagai sebuah parti demokrasi sosial. Jadi disebabkan DAP ini ramai ahlinya berketurunan Cina, dan itu menyebabkan mereka fobia dan teringat kepada Mao Zedong, maka teruslah dilabelnya DAP ini parti cauvinis Cina, komunis pula.

Kalau ramai Cina, terus hukum komunis. MCA dan Gerakan tidak pula dihukum begitu pula. Sayang betul mereka dengan MCA dan Gerakan. Tidak pula parti yang terang nyata menentang hukum Islam itu difatwakan haram segala. DAP yang ramai Melayu Islam ini juga yang mahu dikafirkan, dicap komunis dan konon mahu mengkristiankan negara yang majoriti penduduknya beragama Islam.

Kadir pernah menulis dalam ruangan ini mengenai kerjasama dua hala di antara Persatuan Cina Malaysia (MCA) dengan Parti Komunis China (CPC). 

Antara lain beliau membuat pemerhatian bahawa perkembangan itu hampir-hampir tidak diketahui atau dipedulikan oleh orang ramai, khususnya orang Melayu sedangkan mereka amat takut dan syak wasangka terhadap Parti Tindakan Demokratik (DAP). 

Hari ini ramai orang Melayu beranggapan habislah bangsa mereka jika DAP memerintah.

Realitinya tidak ada mana-mana parti bukan Melayu atau bukan Bumiputera yang boleh memerintah negara ini secara bersendirian melainkan orang Melayu dan Bumiputera sendiri menolak calon Melayu/Bumiputera secara menyeluruh dan memilih calon bukan Bumiputera. 

Ini adalah kerana bilangan pemilih bukan Bumiputera, sama ada Cina atau India, adalah kecil. Mengikut Indeks Mundi, penduduk Malaysia tahun ini dianggarkan 30.95 juta terdiri daripada 50 peratus Melayu, 22.6 peratus Cina, 11.8 peratus Bumiputera, 6.7 peratus India, 0.7 peratus kaum-kaum lain dan 8.2 peratus bukan warganegara. 

Benarlah hari ini DAP adalah parti majoriti Cina yang terkuat setelah mengatasi MCA dan Gerakan sejak Pilihan Raya Umum 2008. Dalam Pilihan Raya Umum 2013, sokongan kepada DAP melonjak naik setelah orang Cina menolak MCA dan Gerakan secara menyeluruh. 

MCA adalah parti orang Cina semata-mata sedangkan DAP dan Gerakan, pada dasarnya adalah parti berbilang kaum walaupun majoriti penggiat mereka adalah orang Cina. 

Apa yang menarik adalah, walaupun MCA lemah daripada sudut populariti tetapi ia kuat dari segi pengaruh terhadap pemerintahan negara. 

Ia berjaya mengeksploitasi kedudukannya sebagai parti Cina terbesar dalam Barisan Nasional untuk mempengaruhi dasar pemerintahan dan menuntut hak untuk masyarakat Cina. 

Jadi dalam konteks inilah kita perlu menilai peranan dan pengaruh MCA terhadap pembentukan dan pelaksanaan dasar yang bersangkut paut mengenai perhubungan dengan negara China. 

Apabila saya membandingkan isi kandungan kenyataan media MCA pada 15 April lalu, berkaitan kerjasama MCA-CPC dengan hasil lawatan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak ke China baru-baru ini, barulah jelas betapa besarnya pengaruh MCA terhadap dasar kerajaan kita dalam perhubungan dengan China. 

Kita telah baca bagaimana lawatan menjana pinjaman, pelaburan dan pembelian dari China berjumlah RM144 bilion, termasuk hutang RM55 bilion untuk membiayai Projek Landasan Kereta Api Pantai Timur yang kontrak pembinaannya diberikan kepada syarikat kerajaan China. 

Lawatan berkenaan juga memecah tradisi apabila kerajaan bersetuju membeli kelengkapan pertahanan berupa kapal peronda pesisir pantai daripada China. 

Seingat saya, senjata China yang digunakan di negara kita adalah oleh pengganas Parti Komunis Malaya (PKM) sebelum ia meletak senjata dan menandatangani perjanjian damai pada 1989. 

Orang lama atau orang yang tahu sejarah tentu ingat lawatan bersejarah bekas Perdana Menteri, Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak Hussein ke Beijing pada 1974. 

Dalam lawatan itu, kita telah bersetuju untuk menjalin perhubungan diplomatik dengan Republik Rakyat China walaupun CPC terus mengekalkan perhubungan dengan PKM atas landasan parti ke parti. 

Sejak 1989, PKM sudah tidak ada. Tetapi nampaknya konsep perhubungan parti ke parti itu tetap diteruskan dengan MCA mengambil alih peranan yang dulunya dimainkan oleh PKM. 

Bezanya, kerjasama CPC-PKM berlaku dalam suasana perang dan berpaksikan ideologi, tetapi kerjasama MCA-CPC pula berlaku dalam suasana aman dan berpaksikan duit. 

Dalam kenyataan bersama pada 13 April itu, Presiden MCA, Datuk Sri Liow Tiong Lai, antara lain berkata: “MCA menyokong sepenuhnya One Belt One Road Initiative (OBOR), dan berharap hubungan dua hala kita dapat diperkukuhkan melalui perkongsian dan pertukaran antara kedua-dua buah parti.” 

Wakil CPC, Song Tao membalas: “Parti Komunis China memuji usaha MCA memajukan ikatan muhibah dua hala, dan akan terus mempertingkatkan pertukaran pengalaman antara pegawai kedua-dua buah parti di semua peringkat bagi merealisasikan wawasan unggul bekerja sebagai satu.” 

Hebat sungguh. CPC dan MCA berikrar bekerja sebagai satu. 

Ini bukan rekaan, tetapi boleh dibaca di laman web rasmi MCA. Implikasi kerjasama parti ke parti di antara CPC dengan MCA tidak boleh dipandang remeh pada saat China sedang memperluaskan pengaruh diplomatik, ekonomi dan ketenteraannya ke seluruh dunia. 

Kita tidak pasti sejauh mana hubungan Najib dalam ‘dasar pandang ke China’ ini akan berjaya. Apa yang pasti, sebahagian harta milik negara, milik orang Melayu sudah tergadai di tangan negara komunis tersebut. 

Najib kini sudah ada ‘abang besar’ yang akan melindunginya setelah gagal melobi Amerika sebagai pelindung selepas Jabatan Kehakiman (DOJ) Amerika membuat pendedahan malah mengambil tindakan saman untuk merampas aset yang diperoleh hasil daripada penyelewengan dana 1MDB. 

Kita bimbang suatu hari nanti persaingan meluaskan pengaruh geo-politik dan ekonomi antara Amerika Syarikat dan China bakal memudaratkan keselamatan dan kedaulatan Malaysia. Pada waktu itu, kita pasti akan tertanya-tanya di mana UMNO dan Najib yang barangkali sudah selamat mempertahankan kepentingan politik dan tembolok mereka sendiri, dan tidak peduli lagi tentang rakyat banyak. - sungairapatonline

can be detained under Terror Act...

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar says she would not want anyone to be detained under the Security Offences  (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma), not even Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos.

The PKR vice-president said no one deserved the “brutal conditions” Sosma detainees were subjected to, referring to the arrest of Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah under the Act on the eve of the Bersih 5 rally.

“I mean frankly – no matter how much I detest Jamal – I would never subject anybody to these conditions. Even if you talk about terrorism suspects, charge them in court,” Nurul Izzah said when speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby on Monday. 

Nurul Izzah said that Maria’s detention justified the fears of the Opposition that Sosma would be used to curtail legitimate dissent.

“We had said from the start that Sosma was going to be abused against legitimate dissent. I feel sad that I have to address this after 18 years of fighting the Internal Security Act,” she said, referring to the now-repealed law that allowed detention without trial.

“They are detaining a woman who is a mother of three children. How can any Malaysian justify that she is a threat,” added Nurul Izzah.

Maria was among more than a dozen individuals arrested by police last Friday, just 24 hours before the Bersih and Red Shirt rallies.

Jamal was also detained in the run-up to the Bersih 5 rally, and was subsequently put under a four-day remand order by the Ampang magistrate’s court. - fmt

But to think that we would one day witness Dr.M n wife,both in their 90s now sitting on a road pavement like everyone else during the vigil to free Maria is just simply beyond belief...

Ostb - It says that Maria Chin is being kept in solitary confinement in a small cell, without windows with a cement floor to sleep on. 

I would like to ask the Police to either verify or deny this. But the other point is the Police (who are supposed to be gagah perkasa and all that) have arrested a defenceless woman and locked her up inside a windowless cell under a law that was crafted to catch terrorists ?

Terrorists like the Abu Sayyaf who kidnapped Sarawakian seamen off Sabah and were paid RM10 million ransom (despite RM12 million being collected) where the Minister of Home Affairs made a public statement that became quite embarrasing.

The Abu Sayyaf have not been caught.Instead we have our gagah perkasa Police arresting a woman who has done nothing even remotely "terrorist".   I want to ask the Police : do you really feel that you have done a great job? 

Or are you just 'saya yang ikut perintah' ? Nasib awak lah.By the way, can the Police explain something.

Polis yang gagah perkasa sudah 'ikut perintah' pi tangkap seorang pompuan, seorang wanita dengan berat badan mungkin 50 kilo sahaja.

But the Bersih 5 is over. Despite a crowd in excess of 200,000 people it was an extremely peaceful assembly. 

Just look at that crowd above.  That is the will of the people.

Then predictably, the kampong boys in TV Tiga Suku put a spin on Bersih 5. This is the spin from TV Tiga Suku :

Obviously this was for their friends in Kuala Kangsar and Pekan. But if it was an attempt at overthrowing the corrupted gomen, then why didnt the Police fire even one can of tear gas on Saturday ?  Because it was peaceful bodoh. There was absolutely zero attempt at overthrowing the corrupt gomen.

If it was an attempt at overthrowing the corrupted gomen, then why didnt the Police shoot even one water cannon at anyone on Saturday?  Because there was no need to bodoh. It was a peaceful assembly of peaceful people. The whole event was peaceful.  And here is the worst outcome of Bersih 5  - the moron is still in office.  No one has overthrown the moron yet.

So how do you justify arresting Maria Chin Abdullah under the SOSMA under the excuse that she was planning to overthrow the gomen?   The facts and the logic do not add up.

So can you please release Maria Chin Abdullah. I want to give some tips for a healthy life to whoever feels it is useful. 

You cannot deny the crowd on Saturday.  The crowd was huge.  For the first time our kampong around Bangsar was full of yellow T shirts.  We were at Bala's in Lucky Garden, Bangsar for tea on Saturday evening and there were plenty yellow shirt folks walking back in the rain. 

The smses and wattsapps also kept flying with pictures and videos of the crowds at KLCC, in town and around Bangsar. And get this - this time the crowd was achieved WITHOUT the presence of Pas. This is significant - please note this.   

What does this mean? It means that your time and your days are definitely numbered.  So those of you who think you are invincible,  let me assure you - you are not. You will never know from which direction the retribution will come and strike you. Tick tock, tick tock. Better watch out.

Now look at the jamban guys in the picture above. The jamban guys are fighting that they have not been paid their "duit cuci jamban"  :

Do they look like they can be good husbands or fathers to a better generation of human beings? 
I dont think so. But these are the so called 'pejuang' now.

In the 1940s, 50s, 70s, 80s the pejuang Melayu and pejuang negara were people of the calibre of Dato Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Dr Mahathir, Tun Razak, Tun Dr Ismail, Zaaba and others. 

Educated people, who had high values, people with integrity and who could be trusted as leaders of the people and of the nation. Those were the pejuang bangsa dan pejuang negara. They were and still are the 'Wira Negara'.

But today, these really stupid people have hoisted pejuang who have been labelled 'jamban' by other groups of  Malays themselves. Orang Melayu sendiri panggil dia 'jamban'. And this fellow is supposed to be their pejuang now. 

Ya Allah ! !  Kiamat lah dunia Melayu. No one, absolutely no one called Tunku Abdul Rahman, Dr Mahathir, Tun Razak or Tun Dr Ismail by such names.

Kalau depa panggil dia moron, bodoh, stupid, idiot pun takpa.  Itu biasalah. Tapi panggil dia "jamban" !!

Buat apa Bersih,Rosmah tetap First Lady...

Setiap kali menjelang perhimpunan BERSIH, persoalan seperti “Apa yang saya dapat jika turun perhimpunan BERSIH?” akan ditanya oleh sebilangan rakyat Malaysia termasuk puak penyokong setia Najib dan Umno. 

Ada puak umno dan penyokong setia Najib sering berkata “Hari ini turun BERSIH, esok Najib tetap perdana menteri, Rosmah tetap jadi First Lady”. Mereka menganggap tiada sebarang perubahan akan berlaku selepas perhimpunan Bersih.

Ini antara kenyataan yang biasa kita dengar. Benar, hari ini pergi demonstrasi, esok kerajaan UMNO/BN masih mentadbir Malaysia. Hari ini pergi demonstrasi, esok harga minyak masih tidak turun. Hari ini pergi demonstrasi, esok-esok harga tol akan tetap naik.

Hari ini pergi demonstrasi, esok-esok harga minyak masak tetap tidak akan turun.

Hari ini pergi demonstrasi, esok-esok subsidi tetap ditarik balik Pernahkah kita berfikir bahawa proses pendemokrasian atau perubahan sesebuah negara itu jarang berlaku secara drastik memerlukan masa. 

Sebaliknya, ia memerlukan rantaian usaha, pengorbanan dan masa dalam memastikan agenda perubahan mampu digerakkan. 

Jika pada perhimpunan BERSIH1 hingga BERSIH4 tidak ada Tun Mahathir yang pernah menjadi perdana menteri Malaysia selama 22 tahun, tidak ada Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin mantan Timbalan perdana menteri dan bekas Timbalan Presiden umno, tidak Dato' Hamidah Osman bekas ketua penerangan wanita umno Malaysia, Tidak ada bekas Pengerusi Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya Malaysia Tan Sri Abdul Rashid dan kini semuanya sudah berada dalam barisan Bersih 5.

Pengetahuan tentang hak-hak rakyat 

Celik sivik rakyat Malaysia dalam memahami Perlembagaan Persekutuan mengenai Perkara 10(1)(b) yang menyatakan bahawa semua rakyat mempunyai hak untuk berhimpun secara aman dan tanpa senjata. Pihak keselamatan perlu mengambl langkah-langkah untu menjaga peserta perhimpunan.

Jika sebelum ini mungkin ramai yang tidak tahu bahawa kita semua mempunyai hak untuk menyuarakan rasa tidak setuju kepada kerajaan melalui perhimpunan aman di jalan raya. 

Menurut Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad,“Kita kalau nak lawan sesuatu tentulah ada rintangan, halangan. Kita mesti sanggup untuk menghadapi halangan dan mengatasi halangan itu.

“Kalau kita nak berjuang cuma bila keadaan cukup bersih, cukup elok, jalan luas dengan ditabur bunga, itu bukan perjuangan. Kerana hasilnya adalah kebaikan bagi diri kita”.

Peratus keluar mengundi semakin meningkat 

Dalam pilihan raya umum (PRU) ke-13, sebanyak 13,268,002 pemilih yang berdaftar. Mereka terdiri daripada pengundi biasa sebanyak 12,885,434 orang, pengundi pos sebanyak 146,742 orang dan pengundi awal sebanyak 235,826 orang. 

Pada tahun 2013, Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) mengumumkan bahawa dalam PRU13 sebanyak 84.84 peratus atau 11,257,147 daripada jumlah 13,268,002 pengundi berdaftar telah keluar mengundi bagi 222 kerusi Dewan Rakyat. 

Kerusi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) pula terdapat 505 kerusi, sebanyak 9,742,254 orang atau 85.82 peratus yang telah keluar mengundi. 

Jika dibandingkan dengan jumlah pemilih yang keluar mengundi pada PRU12, terdapat peningkatan sebanyak 30.44 peratus iaitu dari 54.40 peratus pada PRU13 kepada 84.84 peratus pada PRU berikutnya. 

Jumlah pemilih berdaftar pada PRU12 adalah sebanyak 10,922,139 dan jumlah pemilih yang keluar mengundi pula adalah 8,161,039. 

PRU13 sebenarnya telah mencatatkan peratusan keluar mengundi paling tinggi dalam sejarah pilihan raya di Malaysia dan perincian antara PRU12 dan PRU13 dapat dilihat seperti berikut: 

Sebelum PRU12 Perdana Menteri ketika itu Tun Ahmad Badawi diasak teruk oleh Tun Mahathir kerana kelekannya dalam mentadbir negara dengan membiarkan negara ditadbir oleh menantunya YB Khairy Jamaluddin. Hasilnya, kemenangan BN cemerlang pada PRU 11 jatuh teruk sehingga BN hanya mendapat 140 kerusi parlimen sahaja.

Rekod kemerosotan BN terus diterajui oleh Najib dengan kes pembunuhan Altantuya dan kenaikan harga minyak yang keterlaluan lalu keputusan PRU13 menyaksikan BN hanya mendapat 133 kerusi parlimen.

Masih ingat ketika berlakunya tindakan agresif daripada pihak polis yang memukul, menembak gas pemedih mata dan menyembur air kepada para demonstran. Kita telah menunjukkan kesepaduan jiwa dengan membantu antara satu sama lain tanpa mengira kaum dan agama. 

Ada antara kita yang bantu membasuhkan muka dengan garam dan air serta memapah mereka yang cedera mendapatkan bantuan perubatan. Dan perkara yang lebih penting adalah kita berjaya membuktikan yang kita mampu untuk berkumpul secara aman dan harmoni tanpa mengira latar belakang kaum serta agama. 

Ini menunjukkan terdapatnya rakyat Malaysia yang benar-benar ingin melihat sebuah negara merdeka ini meningkat dewasa dengan matang dan menghormati antara satu sama lain. 

Suka untuk saya kongsikan, jika ditanya tentang pengalaman menyambut hari kemerdekaan negara yang paling menyeronokkan dan menyentuh perasaan, secara peribadi adalah sewaktu menyanyikan lagu Negaraku bersama ratusan ribu rakyat Malaysia pada malam terakhir BERSIH4.  

Penting untuk diingatkan, beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini, negara kita telah digemparkan dengan pelbagai isu yang melibatkan perkauman dan ekstremisme agama, kleptokrasi, nepotisme, rasuah, salah guna kuasa, kematian dalam tahanan dan banyak lagi memberi kesan kepada semua pihak tanpa mengira kaum dan agama. 

Terbaru, anggota parlimen Pandan, Rafizi Ramli telah dijatuhkan hukuman penjara selama 18 bulan kerana didapati bersalah melanggar Akta Rahsia Rasmi (OSA) 1972. 

Pengasas Gerakan Anak Muda Selamatkan Sabah, Jufazli Shi Ahmad pula ditahan reman hanya kerana mengkritik kerajaan Sabah dengan membongkar isu rasuah RM114.5 juta yang membabitkan seorang pengarah dan timbalan pengarah Jabatan Air Sabah. 

Juga isu-isu seperti NFC, 1MDB, Rizab Tabung Haji, penjualan tanah rizab Melayu secara berleluasa oleh pemimpin umno dan Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM) yang berkait dengan integriti dan ketelusan pentadbiran negara ini menuntut agar rakyat Malaysia terus berani melawan kekejaman rejim pemerintah. 

Untuk semua rakyat Malaysia, percayalah bahawa apabila kita membantah kebimbangan ini bersama-sama, kita akan menyedari bahawa kita sebenarnya berkongsi keresahan yang sama. 

Ketepikan sengketa dan perbezaan, mari kita bersama-sama menjadi penggerak kepada pendemokrasian yang lebih baik di negara ini. Ayuh, satukan tenaga demi Malaysia yang baru! - sungairapatonline

Saleh Keruak dan macai2 UMNO 

tak nak komen kehadiran Baju Merah...

Pasca Bersih5 yang paling lawak adalah respon segera dari Saleh Keruak yang cepat2 mahu memperlekehkan jumlah kehadiran peserta dan meletakkan kesalahan kepada Tun Mahathir sebagai puncanya. 

Katanya, Bersih4 tahun lepas 500k, tapi Bersih5 cuma 15k saja...

Hahahaha .... Memang puak Umno ini jenis cepat lupa. Cuba anda google balik artikel2 mengenai kehadiran Bersih4 .... tengok balik berapa kehadiran yang puak Umno congak.

Tahun lepas Rahman Dahlan kata 20k, Mkini 100k, Polis 30k, alJazeera 50k antara contoh2 anggaran yang disebut dalam media

Alih2 selepas Bersih5, puak2 Umno sudah sepakat kata yang Bersih4 tahun lepas jumlah kehadiran adalah 500k ! Hahahahaha .....

Bagi saya angka sebenar tak penting, yang penting - RAMAI. Kalau boleh ambil gambar dari atas menunjukkan sebahagian jalanraya yang besar bertukar warna kuning, itu sudah cukup menunjukkan RAMAI.

Itu dari segi 'angka'. Bagaimana pula dengan SEMANGAT yang dimiliki angka2 itu ? Jangan lupa 2-3 hari sebelum Bersih5, KBAB keluarkan amaran Bersih5 haram, akan ambil tindakan bla bla bla..... Baju Merah pulak mengancam nak halang Bersih5 melalui segala jurus silat yang mereka miliki,.... ( siap bawa kayu dan buloh lagi semalam ! Untuk apa ? ).  

Come on la .... Jangan kata semua itu tidak beri kesan kepada rakyat biasa yang TIDAK BERPARTI untuk turut serta. Mereka cuma nak menzahirkan ketidakpuasanhati terhadap kepimpinan Najib dan mahukan Pilihanraya yang bersih supaya keputusan kelak merupakan pilihan rakyat yang sebenar. 

Mereka rata2 sayangkan keamanan, akur kepada undang2 dan jauh sekali mahu mencari pasal baik dengan baju merah mahupun dengan pihak berkuasa.

NAMUN disebalik ancaman2 itu, masih RAMAI yang hadir. Dan mereka yang hadir itu pula adalah mereka yang penuh bersemangat dan kenyakinan mereka di jalan yang benar. Mereka tidak takut ! 

Cuba jangan ada sebarang halangan atau ancaman ..... saya pasti angkanya akan berlipat kali ganda ! Cuba Najib lontarkan satu cabaran kepada rakyat Malaysia ..... kalau berjaya keluar ke jalan beramai2 satu juta orang secara aman, beliau akan letak jawatan.... dan jangan ada sebarang ancaman atau gangguan, saya yakin kehadiran akan mencecah 5 juta melebihi penduduk KL !

Akhirkata - TAHNIAH! kepada mereka yang bersemangat waja ( walaupun luaran mereka ini orang biasa saja, muka tak ganas, tak pandai silat atau kungfu ) yang tetap hadir walaupun berdepan dengan pelbagai kemungkinan tindakan dari baju merah mahupun pihak berkuasa. 

Keberanian 40 ribu anda akan beri semangat kepada jutaan rakyat yang memerhati melalui sebaran media sosial semalam. It's not a lost cause.... there is still hope for the rakyat ! Itulah mesej paling penting yang telah anda sampaikan kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia ! - f/bk din penyu

Why harass Bersih if people are fed up with it...

The DAP’s Lim Kit Siang has questioned the need for five weeks of effort to intimidate Bersih organisers and supporters if it was true that the people were fed up with Bersih, as claimed yesterday by the Prime Minister, Najib Razak.

He said today: “If Najib was confident that Malaysians have become fed up with Bersih or feel that its rallies do not bring benefit to the country, why was it necessary for Najib’s strategists to launch a six-week high-powered campaign to demonise, frustrate and thwart it?”

“Najib’s government should have just left the proposed Bersih 5 rally alone, and not abused state resources and powers to sabotage it.”

Lim said that if it was true that Malaysians were fed up with Bersih, then yesterday’s Bersih 5 rally would have been a dismal failure. Najib could have then credibly pointed to the futility of Bersih’s efforts.

Yesterday, tens of thousands of people took part in rival street demonstrations in the centre of Kuala Lumpur organised by the Bersih electoral reform group and the pro-establishment Red Shirts movement.

Police arrested the leaders of both movements, Maria Chin Abdullah and Jamal Md Yunos, and more than 15 others for alleged offences relating to the rallies.

Lim said the Bersih 5 rally had been an unqualified success and praised the professionalism of the police on duty on the streets who kept the rallies incident-free.

However he condemned the arrests of rally activists and six opposition politicians and demanded their immediate release.

He said Maria Chin’s detention for alleged activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy was a “vicious, vengeful and vindictive” act. - fmt

Bersih 5 - Crowd Doesnt Matter...

To Putrajaya, Bersih 2.0 is no less a villain as the movement steadfastly challenges the federal government to denounce any hint of power abuse. From a rigged electoral system to graft, the federal government has stumbled all along in proving Bersih 2.0 wrong.

With the nation’s biggest scandal, 1MDB saw the United States Department of Justice alleging that money from 1MDB made its way to numerous associates of Najib. The DoJ also claimed that money from 1MDB has been used to purchase luxury apartments in Manhattan, mansions in Los Angeles, paintings by Monet, a corporate jet and even financed a major Hollywood movie.

The gravity of the 1MDB scandal was described by US attorney-general Loretta Lynch as “the largest kleptocracy case” in American history. Would these damning accusations not bother a conscientious Malaysian? It certainly would and the backlash from the people comes in the form of today’s rally by Bersih 2.0.

From the onset, all the coalition ever asked was that the federal government pay heed to the concerns it had raised. Putrajaya instead delighted in deriding Bersih 2.0, branding it a villain or troublemaker out to riot and topple a democratically-elected government. It is not vendetta or malice that drives Bersih 2.0 to protest. Today’s rally is nothing about launching a coup against Najib but all about holding the premier responsible and accountable.

Surrogates of both ruling government Barisan Nasional and the country’s largest and most dominant political party Umno have adopted a blindspot on the topic of 1MDB, turning the tables on Bersih 2.0, censuring it for compromising the nation’s peace. It seems futile to knock any sense into opponents of Bersih 2.0, none whom has any regret over the hijacking of democracy and rule of law in Malaysia.

A brooding scenario in Malaysia

Today’s Bersih 2.0 protest, its fifth since the movement first took to the streets back in 2007, is about taking a stand against graft and abuse of power. The concerns raised by Bersih 2.0 are bona fide. Still, the movement’s journey toward ridding Malaysia of corrupt administration and political manipulation continues to be besieged by countless hardships.

The Sultan of Johor for one has declared a ban on street protests in his state and instead wants disaffected Malaysians to engage in a heart-to-heart talk with their elected representatives to solve their woes. Despite democracy bringing with its assurance of freedom of assembly and freedom of expression, the scene remains a brooding one in Malaysia.

When cartoonist Zunar, recipient of the 2016 Cartooning Peace Award, got down to penning his disenfranchisement with the Najib administration, it ended up with his books being banned and confiscated and Zunar being arrested and charged with sedition.

“Human rights and freedom of expression in Malaysia are in dire straits,” Zunar had retorted after receiving the award in May.

Street rallies are no one’s favourite child, neither Malaysians in general nor movements like Bersih 2.0 in particular. But such protests have become necessary for one reason: when a recalcitrant government refuses to mend its ways.

Democracy is no longer a driving force in Malaysia and good governance sounds alien. It is draconian laws and the threat of imprisonment that have become Putrajaya’s currencies to force Malaysians to feign ignorance over fiascoes like 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion political funding.

Today’s Bersih 2.0 rally is targeted to attract a million supporters but the turnout figures regardless, the movement’s struggle in defending Malaysia’s choking democracy deserves a salute – had it not been for Bersih 2.0, Putrajaya would have continued to undermine the rights of Malaysians and overrate its government.

Bersih arrests and UMNO AGM...

The Bersih 5 rally yesterday was peaceful and despite the arrests of its two top leaders on the day before the rally,  the rally attracted quite a crowd.

Although the rally ended peacefully and police acknowledging it to be so, the swoop on the civil movement’s leaders, politicians and activities who attended the rally continued, late into the night post-rally.

The day before the rally, 12 people were arrested, including the Red Shirt leaders. 

Those arrested so far (at the time of publication) are:

Bersih leaders Maria Chin Abdullah, Mandeep Singh and Hishamuddin Rais,DAP's Seremban MP Anthony Loke, former Pandamaran assemblyman Ronnie Liu, and members Jimmy Wong and Lee Khai Ming;Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) leader S. Arutchelvan, and activists Luqman Nul Hakim Zul Razali; Student leader Anis Syafiqah Md Yusof and former student leader Muhammad Safwan Anang;PKR MPs Tian Chua and Zuraida Kamarudin, Pasir Pinji assemblyman Howard Lee Chuan Howard, activists Fahmi Reza and Hishamuddin Rais,Red shirt leaders Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos, Razali Zakaria, Ariffin Abu Bakar, Armand Azha Abu Hanifah.

Except for Maria whom police confirmed as having been detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma), a law which deals with terrorism and carries the death penalty, it is not clear under what charges the others would be slapped with. For now, those arrested yesterday have all been remanded.

The Star reported a PKR leader as saying that they are expecting a few more arrests of opposition leaders.

One also wonders if the new party Bersatu’s ex-Umno top leaders - such as former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, Tan Sri Muhyiddin and former Kedah MB Datuk Seri Mukhriz -would also be picked up by the police.

If indeed the arrests yesterday and the day before had had to do with the rally, then the 3M’s were definitely the ones inciting people to attend Bersih 5. As a matter of fact, they were the main speakers at the grand finale of Bersih 5.

Then again, if the authorities do swoop in on the 3Ms, it would not serve well for Umno-ites as the Annual General Meeting of the party is looming on Nov 29, and votes are needed to keep party positions.

It is a known fact that there is still Umno support for Mahathir, Muhyiddin and Mukhriz, albeit silently. As this will be the last Umno AGM before the next general elections, it is very important that post bearers get to keep their posts so that they can vie in the general elections.

One can only watch how the situation will unfold in the next few days. It looks like the calm after the storm will be replaced by another storm. - Zakiah Koya
