Apa berlaku antara Dr M dan Raja Melayu pada 1993...

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad semalam membuat kenyataan mengejutkan – bekas perdana menteri paling lama negara itu memohon maaf atas tindakannya memansuhkan perkenan Raja-raja Melayu dalam pewartaan undang-undang, 23 tahun lalu. 

Peristiwa yang kini dikenang sebagai ‘Krisis Perlembagaan 1993’ berpunca daripada tindakan kerajaan ketika itu yang ingin memansuhkan kekebalan Raja-raja Melayu, seperti disebut dalam Perkara 181(2): “Tiada apa-apa pembicaraan boleh dibawa dalam mana-mana mahkamah terhadap Raja bagi sesuatu negeri atas sifatnya sendiri”. 

Pada 6 Disember 1992, jurulatih pasukan hoki Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar Johor, Douglas Gomez membuat laporan polis atas dakwaan dipukul Sultan Johor ketika itu, almarhum Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail. 

Douglas sebelumnya mengkritik Jabatan Pendidikan Johor ekoran tunduk dengan titah Sultan agar menarik diri daripada kejohanan kebangsaan. 

Susulan itu, Dewan Rakyat memanggil sidang khas pada 10 Disember 1992 dan timbalan perdana menteri pada ketika itu, Tun Ghafar Baba yang membawa usul agar langkah diambil bagi menyekat kekebalan golongan diraja mendapat sokongan sebulat suara 96 wakil rakyat. 

Pada masa sama, kempen media terhadap Raja-raja Melayu bermula. Pelbagai dakwaan salah laku dan gaya hidup mewah golongan diraja dipaparkan bagi meraih sokongan rakyat dalam ‘perang kerajaan dengan Raja-raja Melayu’. 

Laporan tersebut tidak hanya menyasarkan kerabat diraja Johor kerana kerabat diraja Pahang misalnya turut dikritik atas dakwaan mendapat konsesi balak di negeri itu secara tidak adil. 

Usul Ghafar turut disokong 2 parti pembangkang ketika itu iaitu PAS dan DAP, namun Semangat 46 membantahnya atas sebab ia akan melemahkan kedaulatan Raja dan ketuanan Melayu.

Namun, PAS mengambil sikap berkecuali ketika undian untuk pindaan dibuat pada 19 Januari 1993, bagi menjaga hubungannya dengan Sultan Kelantan dan Semangat 46. 

Pindaan tidaklah semudah mendapat sokongan majoriti Dewan kerana perkenan Raja-raja Melayu masih diperlukan agar ia dapat diwartakan. 

Maka kerajaan ketika itu meminda Perkara 66 Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang menyebabkan setiap rang undang-undang tetap diwartakan sebagai undang-undang selepas 30 hari dibentangkan kepada Yang di-Pertuan Agong, walaupun tanpa perkenan baginda. 

Ada pendapat yang mengatakan pindaan tersebut tidak sah, tetapi ia berjalan sehingga hari ini dan menyaksikan pelbagai akta diluluskan, termasuk Akta Majlis Keselamatan Negara yang kontroversi itu. - fmt

Dr Mahathir dan Raja-Raja Melayu...

Kita seringkali mendengarkan kisah konon Tun Dr Mahathir ialah melayu yang menjadi pengkhianat raja-raja mereka tatkala mereka mahu mempertahankan pemimpin mereka yang membuat onar ini? 

Alasan mereka ialah Tun Dr Mahathir menjadi dalang utama kes perlucutuan kekebalan raja-raja Melayu. Tetapi tahukah anda peristiwa apakah yang berlaku di sebalik kes tersebut? 

Pernah dengar kes Prebet Adam yang mengamuk? Kisah ini berlaku lama dah. Adik kepada prebet Adam merupakan seorang caddy diraja. 

Dan suatu hari, ketika beliau menemani seorang sultan salah sebuah negeri di Malaysia bermain golf, adiknya telah dipukul sehingga mati oleh sultan tersebut kerana mengetawakan bola yang dipukul oleh sultan tersebut tidak masuk ke dalam lubang. 

Sejurus selepas kematian adik Prebet Adam, maka mengamuklah Prebet Adam di Chow Kit sehingga membunuh beberapa orang. 

Kes seterusnya ialah Peristiwa Gomez. Seorang jurulatih hoki daripada pasukan hoki Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar, meluahkan kekesalan kerana dipanggil untuk menarik diri daripada perlawanan separuh akhir oleh Pengarah Jabatan Pendidikan Johor. 

Sultan Iskandar tertarik lalu menitah Gomez untuk menghadap baginda di Istana Bukit Serene, tetapi kemudian menyelar dan menyerangnya. Peristiwa ini telah mendatangkan kemarahan rakyat sehingga memaksa parlimen melakukan sesuatu. 

Selepas disiasat dan dibincangkan, peristiwa yang membawa kepada insiden-insiden di atas kerana kekebalan raja-raja Melayu pada waktu itu daripada undang-undang. Nak tak nak, selaku perdana Menteri, Tun Dr M terpaksa melakukan perubahan.

Walaupun dengan berat hati, tetapi mahu mengelakkan perkara ini daripada menjadi nanah dalam negara, maka rang undang-undang diluluskan oleh Dewan Rakyat dan Dewan Negara, masing-masing pada 19 dan 20 Januari 1993. 

Rang undang-undang yang berusul melucutkan kekebalan ini diluluskan oleh enam daripada sembilan raja namun menghadapi tentangan hebat daripada tiga raja yang lain, termasuk Sultan Iskandar sendiri. 

Sultan Iskandar mengambil inisiatif untuk meraih sokongan diraja untuk menghalang pelaksanaan usul tersebut. Rang undang-undang yang berusul melucutkan segala kekebalan dari para raja dan ahli kerabat diraja, menjadikan mereka boleh didakwa mengikut undang-undang bila-bila masa timbulnya salah laku jenayah yang terbukti. 

Kita nampak di sini, bukan Tun sahaja yang bersetuju dengan hal ini, bahkan terdapat 6 raja-raja Melayu yang turut sekepala dengan Tun. Tun bukanlah menentang sistem monarki itu, tetapi untuk mempertahankan sistem monarki tersebut daripada runtuh. 

Bahkan, buat pertama kali, ketua parti pembangkang DAP bersetuju dengan rang undang2 ini. Kalau sikap ini berterusan gara-gara kekebalan itu, kamu rasa orang Melayu akan mampu bertahan? Bukan tidak pernah berlaku dalam sejarah di mana raja digulingkan. 

Pernah dengar Sultan Mahmud Mangkat Dijulang? Memandangkan raja-raja Melayu ialah benteng terakhir umat Melayu, maka Tun terpaksa berbuat sesuatu untuk melindungi senjata yang akan mempertahankan Hak Agama Islam dan Bumiputera ini. Bangsa Johor: Comparison between two arguments...

A state down south of the peninsular is also trying to emulate Sarawak in trying to create discord within the federation of Malaysia. This time, it is about ‘Bangsa Johor’. The question is, will Malaysians as a whole be united or become more disunited with the Bangsa Johor concept? Let us look at the arguments brought forth.

Tun Dr Mahathir, the advocate of Bangsa Malaysia policy, gave his frank assessment on state parochialism, in a conference themed ‘Federal-State relations’ yesterday. He further added:

While Johor has the right to promote the idea of a Bangsa Johor, the former prime mi­nister said it was more important to get people to embrace themselves as Malaysians, rather than identifying themselves with the state they originate from.

“If each state wishes to separate, then the Federation will collapse.”

“This notion can also lead to residents of a state feeling superior over another’s. This is unhealthy.”

“What we must actually do is to encourage unity. Only when the people are truly united as Malaysians can we prosper. Everyone should take a leaf from history books on the importance of unity. Malaysia has achieved a great deal of success and wealth through unity and the shared support system that has been put in place since Independence.”

Uniting the people by giving one identity – as Malaysians.

Now compare to what Bangsa Johor propagates...

It is clear as to which argument is more divisive and selfish. Those with brains can see properly what kind of messaging being bandied about where the term Bangsa Johor is concerned.

Therefore it is ironic when yesterday the Sultan of Johor chastised Tun Dr Mahathir by saying this:

“He is going around dividing the people, including the Malays, while I am uniting Malaysians of all races, including the Malays.”

Sultan Ibrahim said the term ‘Bangsa Johor’ was coined by his great-grandfather in 1920 to unite all races in the state “for greater cooperation, harmony and peaceful existence”.

We are not sure how Bangsa Malaysia is more divisive towards Malaysians than the more territorial and parochial ‘Bangsa Johor’. How can Malaysians as a whole be united using the call of Bangsa Johor?

And according to the Sultan himself, the archaic term – Bangsa Johor was invented 37 years before the Malayan independence.

Since Johor is now part of Malaysia, this term is no longer relevant. Why bother with some irrelevant concept when Johor made hay and became modern and strong due to Malaysia’s collective success? Nobody has heard of this term before anyway. It was a reincarnation of sorts, for whatever reason they could imagine.

Anyway, if Johor had not joined Malaysia, history might repeat itself and the state could have fallen into the hands of Singapore a long time ago.

Our history before Independence is seldom kind to our own monarchs. Whenever they have problems, their usual solution back then was to sell their lands with their own people on it, to foreign powers. We all know who had sold Singapore to Sir Stamford Raffles back in 1819. Decades earlier, Penang was given away to the British by the Kedah Sultanate in 1786, and in 1874 the Sultan of Perak handed over his whole state for the British to govern.

And in 1946, all the Sultans in Malaya wanted to hand over all the Malay states to the British to officially turn it into a British colony, through the Malayan Union. These monarchs wanted to concede all powers to the British Crown!

It was only through the vision and hard work of Onn Jaafar who had seen the dangers of Malayan Union, that the Federation of Malaya was born. If the Sultans had their way back then, the current royals would not have tasted their reigning powers enshrined in the Malaysian Constitution. Nobody could have become the Agong, none would have obtained the current level of respect they desperately wanted.

Luckily for them, the malays at that time rallied and protested against the British. The rest as they say, is history.

Malaysia as a unified nation has gone from a shabby backwater – a former colony of three colonial masters, populated by royals whose hobby is to sell their lands to foreigners – into a modern country, and an economic tiger in less than 50 years time after it had gained independence.

But now we have rulers of states that wanted to destroy a unified Malaysia? Sarawak was lucky that Tunku Abdul Rahman invited them to form Malaysia in 1963. It officially became a British colony in 1946 when its last Rajah, Charles Vyner Brooke had not enough money to govern it. The malays, led Rosli Dhobi did not agree to the cession. We all know what happened to him. The British had clamped down hard on the anti-British movement back then. Again, the rest is history. In 1963, Sarawak and the rest of the states formed to become Malaysia as it is today.

It is sad to see when past leaders were trying so hard to unify and strengthen Malaysia as a nation, the current crop of leaders are trying hard to divide it through oneupmanship and territorial possessiveness.

In conclusion, leaders of Malaysia – whether political or royal – must put Malaysians first. As long as they are not doing anything about 1MDB and work for the greater good of Malaysia, nobody is interested in whatever political grandstanding they are trying to display.

Saya kemudiannya, kerana tidak dapat menerima syarat-syarat yang diletakkan ke atas saya oleh DYMM Sultan Johor yang menghalang tugasan saya sebagai Yang Dipertua UMNO, maka saya meletakkan jawatan sebagai Menteri Besar Johor supaya saya dapat menumpukan sepenuh perhatian kepada tugasan dalam UMNO.

Begitulah juga UMNO perlu berhenti melihat sesuatu isu dengan pemikiran yang sempit seolah-olah hidup di bawah satu tempurung, tanpa mempedulikan atau ambil kisah yang masih ada tempurung-tempurung lain disekelilingnya.”

SPRM suka ‘ikan bilis’ dari ‘ikan paus’...

Peristiwa penahanan pegawai berpangkat tinggi dan bergelar “Datuk Seri” di Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), baru-baru ini, mengundang seribu satu persoalan yang menuntut tindak balas segera pihak berwajib.

Setiausaha DAP Kuala Lumpur, Lim Lip Eng memetik laporan lidah rasmi UMNO, Utusan Malaysia berkata, pegawai yang diberkas Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) terbabit didakwa memiliki 31 unit pangsapuri bernilai RM15.5 juta dan kereta mewah.

Susulan pendedahan itu, katanya, persoalan mengenai harta kekayaan yang dimiliki individu bergelar menteri dan menteri dalam kabinet – yang mempunyai kuasa lebih tinggi daripada pegawai berkenaan – justeru harus dibangkitkan.

“Kita tertanya-tertanya, berdasarkan laporan ini, berapa banyak pula rumah banglo dan kereta mewah yang dimiliki Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan, Tengku Adnan Mansor, yang enggan mengisytiharkan hartanya itu?

“Bagaimana pula dengan menteri-menteri kabinet yang lain? Adakah pihak berkuasa, terutamanya SPRM langsung tidak mahu tahu?” soalnya dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.

Berikutan penangkapan pegawai itu, Tengku Adnan seperti yang dilaporkan media, telah mengarahkan semua pegawai di bawah kementeriannya mengisytiharkan harta. 

Bagaimanapun, beliau menolak gesaan supaya beliau sendiri mengisytihar kekayaan peribadinya kepada rakyat kerana bimbang kononnya akan menjadi mangsa rompakan, selain mendedahkan ahli keluarganya kepada bahaya.

Mengulas lanjut, Lip Eng yang juga Ahli Parlimen Segambut turut mempersoalkan jika peristiwa penangkapan SPRM yang “menjadi tajuk utama berita selama lebih seminggu” itu hanya sekadar helah untuk “mengalihkan perhatian daripada skandal penipuan” syarikat 1MDB.

“Sementara SPRM gigih menangkap beberapa ekor ikan bilis dan mempamerkan kejahatan mereka di dada akhbar, masih ada beberapa ekor ikan paus yang masih bebas berenang betul-betul di depan mata SPRM.

“Sebagai contoh, adakah SPRM telah menyiasat berapa banyak aset (dalam dan luar negara) yang dimiliki ‘Malaysian Official 1’ (MO1), anak tiri Najib Razak, Riza Aziz; dan juga Jho Low serta konco-konconya?” katanya.

MO1 yang dipercayai merujuk kepada Perdana Menteri, Riza Aziz dan Jho Low adalah antara individu yang dinamakan dalam saman sivil Jabatan Kehakiman (DOJ) Amerika Syarikat bagi menyita berbilion-bilion dolar AS yang didakwa dicuri daripada dana syarikat milik penuh kerajaan, 1MDB. – Roketkini.com

National Debt RM600 billion !! Malay economy just grinding to a halt.The gomen sector is indeed grinding down to a halt. The Malay economy is dying as well.

Dr Mahathir said that national debt has exceeded RM600 billion. Then The national debt clock(above)shows the Malaysian national debt exceeding RM600 billion.

Please note that the national debt is 58% of the country's GDP. What does this mean?  Say you are earning RM5000. Half of that goes towards paying debt. You only have half your salary left over to pay for the other bills.  What if your monthly income is RM2000? 

Some people do not believe the economy (especially the Malay economy) is in deep shit. Here is more new. This is from yesterday 24th Aug, 2016 : 

Tesco is cutting 600 jobs in Malaysia. These are mostly low level jobs ok, plenty of Malays employed by Tesco.

And here is news about Utusan Meloya not being able to pay their salaries to their staff in July 2016.

The Utusan management staff received their salaries first. There was not enough money to pay 300 other junior ranks their salaries for July. (They were finally paid in August).  Utusan Meloya has cash flow problems. Info from a former Group Managing Editor of Utusan says that Bugis is pumping RM5 million direct cash injection into Utusan every month. Otherwise Utusan will bungkus.  Err these are mostly Malay staff ok.

Petronas has also laid off over 1000 staff since April - once again these are mostly Malays and Sarawakians.  So no "high income economy" left in Petronas.

Then Suzuki Bikes has shut down its motorbike assembly plant in Prai that has been operating since 1971 :

It did not say how many staff will lose their jobs but you can rest assured it is mostly Malays and it will be a few hundred people.

SilverBird (Hi5) bread business also closed down just before Hari Raya. 60 staff (majority Malays) were given 24 hour notices :

Hello morons, each time a factory closes down or a thousand people lose their jobs then you multiply their monthly  salaries x 1000 and that is how much consumer buying power has disappeared from the economy. 6% of that (GST) has also disappeared.  The gomen has lost corporate taxes and GST revenue from all those factroies and businesses that shut down.  

The way things are going what if the gomen cannot pay salaries to its Civil Servants? Dont think it is impossible.  The morons have already messed things up.  

The gomen economy and the related Malay economy is grinding down.

Seagate, Western Digital leave Penang

In the midst of all this, did you know that the morons have quietly removed duty free status from Langkawi and Labuan.  Tun Dr Mahathir first said this in his blog. I also checked with a friend in Langkawi.  I think this has been done to punish Tun Dr Mahathir, Mukhriz (Kedah) and Shafie Apdal (Sabah). 

This will kill off Langkawi, especially the Malay economy on that island.  My friend says that for now cars above 2000 cc are no more tax exempt in Langkawi. The "duty free shopping" is limited to some shops only.  Not to the entire island of Langkawi. 

Tourists (especially local tourists) go to Langkawi for the duty free shopping. Once you remove that, then why go to Langkawi? But isnt that largely a Malay economy as well? Ekonomi Melayu yang mati dulu.

Kisah menarik kejayaan anak Melayu dibidang perniagaan yang wajar dicontohi semua... diusia muda sudah memiliki 31unit kondominium mewah bernilai lebih RM15.5 juta..Kesemua unit yang terletak di ibu negara itu telah ‘dibeli’ daripada lima pemaju projek perumahan yang berurusan dengan Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) ..pada harga asal antara 200-300K tanpa membuat sebarang pembayaran deposit, ni dapat direalisasikan kerana kedudukan anak Melayu ni yang memiliki pengaruh dan kuasa diDBKL.. Anak Melayu ni kemudiannya menjual kembali unit tersebut pada harga RM500K dan mendapat keuntungan tanpa perlu mengeluarkan sesen pun...Begitu pintar.. anak Melayu ini..wajar dicontohi oleh Melayu yang lain... - f/bk 

Datuk Seri yang ditahan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah (SPRM) baru-baru ini kerana dipercayai terbabit dalam kes rasuah dan salah guna kuasa dipercayai mempunyai 31 unit kondominium mewah bernilai lebih RM15.5 juta, lapor Utusan Malaysia.

Semua unit di ibu negara itu dikatakan dibeli daripada 5 pemaju projek perumahan yang berurusan dengan Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

Akhbar itu memetik sumber sebagai berkata SPRM menerusi siasatannya mendapati Datuk Seri berkenaan ‘membeli’ unit kondominium berkenaan yang harga asalnya RM200,000 sehingga RM300,000 tanpa membuat bayaran pendahuluan menggunakan nama sendiri dan orang terdekat.

“Suspek ini dipercayai menandatangani perjanjian jual beli (S&P) dengan pemaju tanpa membuat bayaran pendahuluan.

“Apabila rumah siap, suspek dipercayai akan menjual semula setiap rumah pada harga semasa dengan anggaran RM500,000 setiap satu dan mendapat untung atas angin,” katanya dipetik daripada Utusan Malaysia.

Sumber itu berkata SPRM juga tidak menolak kemungkinan terdapat beberapa lagi pegawai dan kakitangan DBKL terlibat melakukan perkara yang sama bagi mendapat keuntungan mudah.

“Setakat ini, siasatan lanjut masih dijalankan dan kita masih lagi mencari orang kanan suspek terbabit bagi membantu siasatan,” katanya.

Pengarah Siasatan SPRM Datuk Azam Baki ketika dihubungi Utusan Malaysia mengesahkan perkara itu.

Pada 16 Ogos, SPRM menahan reman Datuk Seri berkenaan bersama dua lagi penjawat awam berpangkat Datuk dari jabatan berbeza di Melaka dan Kelantan. Semua yang ditahan masih dalam tahan reman.

Mereka ditahan bagi membantu siasatan dalam kes rasuah dan pengubahan wang haram, mengikut Seksyen 17(a) Akta SPRM 2009.

Azam sebelum ini berkata mereka ditahan dalam operasi serentak pada 12.00 tengah hari dan 2.00 petang. 

Susulan penahanan itu, akaun bank milik mereka melebihi RM13 juta turut dibekukan, di samping menyita kondominium mewah seperti penthouse dan banglo, dan kenderaan Maserati, BMW dan Audi.

SPRM turut merampas RM400,000 tunai termasuk mata wang asing dan beberapa jam tangan mewah.

Mingguan Malaysia sebelum ini melaporkan wujud salah guna kuasa segelintir pegawai kanan sebuah pihak berkuasa tempatan (PBT) di Lembah Klang bagi memperoleh kondominium dan apartmen di lokasi strategik.

Perkara itu berlaku berikutan terdapat pakatan antara pegawai tinggi dan pemaju projek perumahan apabila mereka dikatakan membuat tempahan tanpa membuat bayaran pendahuluan.

Sebaik saja projek itu siap dan mendapat sijil layak menduduki (CF) daripada PBT, pemaju akan mengambil semula unit yang ‘dibeli’ pegawai PBT terlibat dan menjual kepada pembeli sebenar dengar kadar lebih tinggi bagi mengaut keuntungan. - fmt

What if a DAP member had said MO1 is the Agong...

Former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin wonders what would have been the result if a DAP member had claimed that ‘Malaysian Official 1’ (MO1) is none other than the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Anina was responding to Umno lawmaker Nawawi Ahmad who had apologised to the Agong for his remarks regarding MO1.

“Imagine if such a comment came from a DAP member. The issue will be played by TV3 for at least a month,” she told Malaysiakini.

As such, Anina is of the opinion that the police, as well as Umno, must take action against Nawawi for making such a remark.

And it is also not enough for Nawawi to merely apologise to the Agong, added Anina, who has filed a police report against Nawawi for linking the MO1 to the Agong.

“The Sultan of Kedah is a king in the hearts of Kedahans. If you were to apologise to the king, you must also say sorry to all Kedahans because we were hurt over your statement,” she said.

As a leader, it is more so that he or she should lead by example, opined Anina.

“Nawawi’s remarks had touched on the constitution. You say sorry and that’s it? No.

“If you make a mistake, say sorry and get away scot-free, then the rakyat can do the same thing.

“Anyone from the street then will make comments in relation to the Agong and just say sorry. So, the police should take action, at least open investigation papers,” she said.

What was more surprising, Anina added, was that the remarks had come from an Umno leader. Umno, she added, is a party that supposedly champions the Malay rulers.

“An Umno leader should not be making such a mistake. You say you fight for the Malays, for the rulers.

“You say the DAP is a threat to the rulers, to the Malays and Muslims. Yet, you make statements that contradict your struggle,” she pointed out.

In his apology to the Agong made on Monday, Nawawi expressed regret over the matter and promised to be more careful when making statements on the social media in the future.

Nawawi claimed in an Aug 16 Facebook post that MO1 is none other than the Agong, since His Majesty is the country's head of state.

The Facebook post was subsequently edited to remove the reference to the Agong, four hours later, but not before drawing wide criticism.

The Majlis Kerabat Diraja Kedah ticked off Nawawi, saying that he should not have dragged the royal institution into the matter.

Nawawi had previously claimed that he was misunderstood and that he was not referring to the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) court filings.

MO1 is an individual alleged by the DOJ to have received at least US$731 million out of US$3.5 billion that was supposedly misappropriated from 1MDB.

The DOJ said it is barred by court rules from naming the official in its civil forfeiture proceedings, but this has only fuelled speculation about MO1's true identity.- mk

OSTB: What about Petronas' reserves position? How much cash reserves does Petronas have? Some people say Petronas cash reserves will run out by end 2017.  Without reserves and with Malaysia's name stinking to high hell, can Petronas borrow money overseas?  Dont say I did not warn you.

The layoffs in the Oil and Gas industry exceeds way above the 1000 staff cut at Petronas. Plenty O&G companies have closed down or laid off staff.  The largest group that is affected are bumiputras.  I know O&G people who have quit and gone back to the kampong.   

The question is Petronas still has 50,000 staff. How efficient are they vis a vis the industry?

That LNG investment in Canada has been a disaster. I have been commenting about it for years now - even without any charts or analysts. But most 100% certainly some people have already become very rich, even from that fiasco. 

This is the scariest part :

Net income fell to RM348m in three months through June RM9.1b a year ago, company said Monday Revenue slid 21% RM48.4b

These are very huge drops.  That revenue slide is just in three months. At this pace it could reach RM200 billion drop over 12 months.

The question is the Budget is due again soon. Where is the gomen going to get dividend money from Petronas to fund their corruption and wastage?  How are the GLCs (the fake economy) going to sustain their "money is not an objection" gomen handout dependent business models ? 

The gomen and the GLCs are still dishing out the "feel good" tricks to fool the Malays. That everything is hunky dory fine. This includes the fake 'high income" notions.

Here is the reality folks. In the real world, graduate engineers and architects earn starting salaries of less than RM2000. Even after three years working experience engineers earn about RM3000 or less.  The American multi national giant Intel pays fresh electronic engineers about RM1800 starting salary.  This is the reality in the real economy.

In the fake economy of the GLCs a fresh graduate (non engineering) was paid RM5000 a month !! A fresh graduate ! ! This is a true story ok.  The freshie was given a job travelling to the GLCs overseas offices - which had hired "consultants" who were actually doing the real job. After a while the freshie quit - because there was no real work to do.  Then the freshie joined the same 'consultant'.  

In a GLC owned "seven star" hospital nurses are paid RM2000. Here is the cake folks, nurses in gomen hospitals are now paid even higher, up to RM3000 per month. Much higher than graduate engineers and architects who work in the real private sector. 

Recently an ex Petronas engineer was interviewing for a job in the real private sector..  He was in the RM5000 a month salary range. But he could not answer basic questions about engineering. He complained that he was a 'project manager' and therefore he had forgotten his engineering.  This shows you the difference between the GLC economy and the real economy. 

This is the feel good, "high income" economy to dupe the Malays into thinking that everything is hunky dory fine. It is also easier to steal from them when the Malays can be lulled into "feeling good".  This is the 'crooked mamak' business model too ! 

There are 1.6 million civil servants, over 90% of whom are Malays. I think all the GLCs employ about 500,000 people or more - also mostly Malays. (Petronas alone employs 50,000 people).  So there are over 2.0 million people, mostly Malays who are in the relatively "high income" type jobs, in relation to their economic output. 

Here is the question : are their wages proportional to the actual economic output vis a vis the real economy aka the private sector economy?

If yes, then it is very good for the country.
If no, then the disaster has begun already. 

I have some feedback about the GST too which I am not going to share.  Lets see how much GST the gomen collects this year. 

I have said again, again and again the GST is killing the economy.  Economic growth has just been killed off by the GST. How long will it take for the morons to figure this out.

The largest consumer base in this country the Malays are mostly wage earners. Monthly salary earners. Why? Because the NEP has NOT created the BCIC (bumiputra commercial and industrial community). So Melayu semua masih hidup makan gaji dari majikan.

The GST has caused price rises of 15% - 20%  which has taken away the Malays' purchasing power by about the same amount.  Hence business has shrunk all over the country.  The Malays / bumiputras are the largest consumer base in the country. You have killed the goose that lays the golden egg.

Now the gomen says the GDP growth this year is about 4% only ! !
Before they said 4.5% to 5 %. 
Now they say 4% to 4.5% !!

From 4.5% down to 4.0% is an 11% deceleration.  It is the speed at which the GDP growth is slowing down that is worrying.  It is slowing down at a faster pace.

in the case of Petronas their drop in profits has accelerated by 96% ! !
What shall we do? The solutions are easy. That is the best part. There are easy and painless solutions. And everyone can become rich and happy. at least economically. All Malaysians.

MO1 - Penjenayah paling dikehendaki negara...

Pendedahan terkini oleh Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar bahawa pihak polis telah melengkapkan fasa pertama siasatan ke atas 1MDB dan ia adalah terhad kepada lima cadangan ‘tidak wujud’ Jawatankuasa Kira-Kira Wang Negara (PAC) seperti yang diarahkan oleh Kabinet, hanya menyebabkan siasatan polis terhadap 1MDB menjadi satu permainan dan sandiwara.

Ia menimbulkan banyak persoalan berhubung kebebasan, kesaksamaan, kecekapan dan profesionalisme polis Malaysia, terutama sama ada ia mampu dikategorikan sebagai salah satu badan polis terbaik dunia dari sudut kecekapan dan profesionalisme.

Sebagai contoh, bolehkah Khalid mengarahkan siasatan polis ke atas 1MDB untuk menyelidik lebih lanjut berkenaan dakwaan Jabatan Kehakiman Amerika Syarikat (DOJ) mengenai jenayah kecurian, penyelewengan dan pengubahan wang haram dana 1MDB yang bernilai berbilion ringgit atau beliau harus mendapatkan ‘lampu hijau’ dari Kabinet atau Perdana Menteri terlebih dahulu?

Tanpa ‘lampu hijau’ oleh Kabinet atau Perdana Menteri, adakah polis Malaysia terpaksa berpura-pura seolah-olah dakwaan DOJ setebal 136 mukasurat yang menyentuh jenayah kecurian, penyelewengan dan pengubahan wang haram bernilai berbilion ringgit melibatkan 1MDB itu tidak wujud – walaupun hampir 10 negara sedang menyiasat skandal antarabangsa dana 1MDB tersebut?

Bolehkah Khalid menjelaskan kepada rakyat Malaysia sama ada beliau secara rasmi telah meminta ‘lampu hijau’ dari Kabinet atau Perdana Menteri agar polis Malaysia dapat menyiasat dakwaan DOJ terhadap salah laku jenayah melibatkan 1MDB, atau beliau tidak pernah berbuat demikian kerana tahu ia tidak akan membawa sebarang erti, sama ada dari Kabinet atau Perdana Menteri sendiri?

Penahanan polis tanpa waran dan  reman tiga hari ke atas tiga aktivis pelajar, Muhammad Luqman Nul Hakim Zul Razali, Luqman Hakim dan Ashraff Nazrin pada Sabtu lalu kerana mempromosi himpunan #TangkapMalaysianOfficial1 di UiTM Seri Iskandar, Perak mencetuskan persoalan tentang apa sepatutnya menjadi kedudukan polis berkenaan personaliti ‘Malaysian Official 1’ yang dinyatakan 36 kali dalam saman sivil setebal 136 mukasurat bagi rampasan aset selepas terdapat dakwaan berhubung penyelewengan dan pengubahan wang haram bernilai AS$3.5 bilion dari dana 1MDB.

Bukankah polis Malaysia sepatutnya peduli tentang siapa ‘Malaysian Official 1’ dan bukankah pihak polis seharusnya bekerjasama dengan kempen #TangkapMalaysianOfficial1 tersebut?

FBI dah kenalpasti sapa MO1...

Jika dakwaan DOJ mengenai salah laku jenayah melibatkan ‘Malaysian Official 1’ adalah benar, bermakna dia merupakan penjenayah paling dikehendaki di Malaysia. Jadi bagaimana mungkin pihak polis Malaysia tidak ambil peduli dan tidak berminat tentang itu?

Seperti yang ditegaskan oleh Presiden Badan Peguam Malaysia, Steven Thiru, sukar untuk berpendirian bahawa dokumen DOJ tidak menunjukkan wang telah diseleweng dari 1MDB memandangkan dakwaan berhubung salah laku kewangan itu melibatkan dana 1MDB – digambarkan sebagai “telah dicuri, diubah melalui institusi kewangan Amerika dan digunakan untuk memperkayakan beberapa pegawai dan sekutu mereka” – yang disebut dalam lebih 193 perenggan dalam dokumen tersebut.

Bukankah ia merupakan tanggungjawab polis Malaysia untuk mengenalpasti siapakah ‘MO1’ dan siapakah sebenarnya dalang di sebalik skandal kewangan antarabangsa 1MDB – sama ada ‘MO1’ atau jutawan Pulau Pinang, Jho Low?

Dakwaan DOJ mengetengahkan tiga fasa penyelewengan dan kleptokrasi 1MDB – 1) Fasa Good Star, 2) Fasa Aabar BVI dan 3) Fasa Tanore, menyatakan bahawa ‘Malaysian Official 1’ menyelewengkan AS$731 juta melalui 1MDB. Terdapat fasa keempat, iaitu fasa SRC yang tidak dinyatakan dalam saman DOJ itu.

DOJ menyebut bahawa dalam fasa Good Star, lebih AS$1 bilion sejak September 2009 hingga 2011 telah disalurkan dari 1MDB kepada Good Star kepunyaan Jho Low. Dalam fasa kedua iaitu fasa Aabar BVI pada tahun 2012, kira-kira AS$1.367 bilion dana 1MDB yang dibangkitkan dalam dua tawaran bon berasingan telah “disalahgunakan dan dialihkan melalui penipuan” ke akaun bank di Switzerland dan Singapura yang dikawal oleh Jho Low. Seterusnya dalam fasa ketiga iaitu Fasa Tanore pada tahun 2013, lebih AS$1.26 bilion dana 1MDB sekali lagi dimasukkan ke dalam akaun bank di Switzerland dan Singapura yang dikawal oleh Jho Low tersebut.

Daripada hampir AS$3.6 bilion dana 1MDB yang diseleweng melalui tiga fasa berkenaan, AS$731 juta dimasukkan ke dalam akaun bank peribadi ‘Malaysian Official 1’.

Dengan keengganan untuk melancarkan siasatan yang boleh menangkis tuduhan-tuduhan berat seperti itu, adakah polis Malaysia sebenarnya menerima bahawa terdapat kes prima facie terhadap dakwaan DOJ mengenai jenayah kecurian, penyelewengan dan pengubahan wang haram melibatkan 1MDB, serta peranan yang dimainkan oleh ‘MO1’ dan Jho Low dalam jenayah tersebut?

Pengarah Komunikasi Strategik Barisan Nasional merangkap Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri yang bertanggungjawab ke atas EPU, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, telah menyatakan bahawa “hanya orang bodoh yang tidak mengetahui siapa individu tersebut” seolah-olah siapa ‘MO1’ yang dinyatakan dalam saman sivil DOJ itu bukanlah satu rahsia.

Adakah polis telah menyoal siasat Abdul Rahman Dahlan mengenai identiti ‘MO1’?

Adakah Ahli Parlimen Langkawi, Datuk Nawawi Ahmad adalah seorang yang ‘bodoh’ apabila menyatakan bahawa ‘Malaysian Official 1’ adalah Yang di-Pertuan Agong?

Back in 2012, FGV emerged as Asia's biggest IPO, when it managed to raise RM10.4 billion. Ini wang yang FGV dapat hasil dari IPO. Apa depa buat dgn hasil IPO? Jangan tanya saya.. tanya Isa Samad.

Harga saham FGV pernah jatuh hingga ke 1.35 dari harga IPO 4.55 . Kejatuhan harga saham adalah di atas batu jembala pemegang saham, sperti kwsp kwap TH sll.. bukan FGV lagi yang menanggung kerugian.

FGV telah bertukar 3 CEO dlm masa 5 tahun. Macam 1MDB tukar 3 CEO dlm masa 5 tahun :D
Saya tidaklah mahu melihat lebih mendalam dlm FGV cukuplah sekadar berkata In its first quarter ended March 2016, FGV slipped into the red with RM70.35 million in losses. This is unheard off under the old Felda module.

4) Dulu masa baru nak senarai FGV, Felda rancak hantar anak-anak Felda ke luar negara ... berbagai program .. sekarang kenapa terhenti ?  Takkan langkah dulu tu sekadar nak ambik hati peneroka ?
5) Projek ikan sturgeon di Pahang yang diperuntukkan puluhan juta ringgit tu apa khabar ?
6) Apa hasil beli hotel-hotel di London, KK, PD, Melaka dan sebagainya ?

What crime has Namewee committed...

Offending sensibilities isn’t necessarily a crime, says human rights activist Marina Mahathir.

Commenting on the arrest of controversial rapper Namewee over his newest music video, Marina told FMT she felt the police action was extreme and probably prompted by a need to appease oversensitive Muslims.

“We can’t keep kowtowing to people who spend most of their time being offended. I find it rather offensive that they are offended,” she quipped.

Marina made a similar statement about oversensitive Muslims in a blog posting last January. She cited several “ridiculous things” that she said they would get hysterical over, including the alleged presence of pig DNA in chocolates and crucifix-like designs on the roofs of houses.

She had added that she couldn’t understand why Malaysian Muslims were not ashamed to admit their faith was weak and in need of constant protection.

Criticising Namewee’s arrest, she said, “He should not have been treated that way. The authorities should look at the video properly and find out what laws he has broken. Just because people are offended, it doesn’t mean that it’s a crime.”

She said she hadn’t seen the video herself.

The 33-year-old Namewee, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Sunday. He has been remanded for four days.

The offending video is for his song “Oh My God.” It shows him rapping in front of places of worship around the country.

Prematilaka KD Serisena, the Secretary-General of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism had also spoken to FMT regarding the matter, saying that people needed a platform to voice their frustrations.

He said that the best way to deal with them was to hear them out. Sending Namewee to jail would only make matters worse, he added. - fmt

Who is our national hero...

Looks like all the support and adoration is being aimed at Lee Chong Wei with very little thought given to the six other athletes who represented Malaysia at the Rio Olympics.

I woke up last Sunday morning only to find everyone at home in a sombre mood. 

Grabbing my handphone in the hopes of finding some early morning entertainment, a notification popped up on Facebook. It was my daughter’s status. 

It read: “Silver? Nope. He won gold in our hearts.” Surfing the Internet, I saw many similar messages flooding cyberspace. 

“He has united Malaysians more than Independence Day has for the last decade.” 

“You are our champion, our hero.” “You made me proud to be Malaysian.” 

“Because you’ve given your best, and we all know that, as we, the world, watched every single second as you fought for every point you could.”

“No one can try harder than him. And no one can unite Malaysia better than him.” 

“No one in the world deserves more gold than him.” 

Wow! While it is true that this may be Lee Chong Wei’s last attempt at the Olympics, and every Malaysian feels duty bound to support the sportsmen representing the country, I cannot help but ask if the others representing Malaysian received similar support and adoration. 

Yes, Chong Wei gave his best trying to win us a gold. So did the rest of our athletes. In fact, we have six others who presented us with the same medal as Chong Wei – silver. Why then did we not flood social media with similar words of praise and comfort for them?

Are they not our national heroes? 

Are we not proud of them? 

Do they not unite us as a nation? 

Do they not deserve gold? 

Goh V Shem, Tan Wee Kiong, Chan Peng Soon, Goh Liu Ying, Cheong Jun Hoong, Pandelela Rinong and Azizulhasni Awang are all champions and national heroes in their own right. 

Let us not forget that Chong Wei is the world number 1 player who won a silver while four of the athletes mentioned above are underdogs who proved to be on par with the nation’s so-called champion. These are the people who managed to take a leap of faith ‘demi negara tercinta.’ 

Mind you, I am not trying to downplay the contributions of Chong Wei to our nation. I am merely asking you to think about the others, as bringing pride to our nation is not Chong Wei’s burden alone to shoulder. 

Likewise, let it be not only Chong Wei who sweeps the ultimate glory, for everyone who represented Malaysia, regardless of whether they won or lost, are indeed our heroes.
