Kementerian Dalam Negeri mengeluarkan warta kerajaan melarang pemakaian "apa-apa pakaian berwarna kuning" dan yang mengandungi perkataan "Bersih 4" berkuatkuasa hari ini.

Perintah itu juga melarang apa-apa bahan bercetak lain dan risalah yang mendorong kepada perhimpinan itu.

Perintah tersebut dikeluarkan oleh Menteri Dalam Negeri Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi. Ia disiarkan di laman web Pejabat Peguam Negara.

Larangan dalam Perintah Mesin Cetak dan Penerbitan (Kawalan Hasil Penerbitan Tidak Diingini) 2015 menyebut:

"Percetakan, pengimportan, penghasilan, penghasilan semula, penerbitan, penjualan, pengeluaran, pengelilingan, pengedaran atau pemilikan hasil penerbitan yang diperihalkan dalam Jadual yang mungkin memudaratkan keselamatan, yang mungkin berlawanan dengan mana-mana undang-undang dan yang mungkin memudaratkan kepentingan negara adalah dilarang secara mutlak di seluruh Malaysia."

Sebanyak 35,000 baju rasmi BERSIH 4 terjual yang menyumbang pendapatan sebanyak RM700,000 kepada gabungan NGO itu.

Perhimpunan tersebut akan diadakan selama 34 jam bermula esok di tiga kota besar - Kuala Lumpur, Kuching dan Kota Kinabalu.- mk

Bersih 4.0 Rally –Your Survival Kit Checklist...

Based on feedback from highway travelers, the notorious FRU were moving fast and furious into the city. Although nobody expects the latest rally – Bersih 4.0 – can pressure Prime Minister Najib Razak to resign with dignity, the regime is getting desperate about “losing face” if the rally could balloon to become the biggest rally in the history of the country.

 

They’ve unleashed minion police to intimidate rally-goers. They’ve unleashed ministers to talk crap about the effect of a rally to the economy and local currency. They’re unleashed “Red Shirt” gangsters who had displayed their self-defence skills by breaking tiles and wood with their heads and body, just like Shaolin kungfu wannabes.

As expected, these “Red Shirt” mobs were allowed playing and practising with “parang” (machetes) without being arrested by the police. Heck, Najib administration is such a chicken that it instructs websites promoting Bersih 4.0 to be blocked. And now, the armed forces are being used to intimidate rally-goers.

Apparently, Malaysian Armed Forces chief Gen Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, the same guy who was muttering like a drunken reading from his script during the disappearance MH370, said the military is ready to intervene in the Bersih 4.0 rally if big boss Najib declares a state of emergency – a situation which allows the prime minister to rule indefinitely.

So, was there already a plan by the corrupt PM Najib and thuggish Deputy PM Zahid to create riots during the Bersih 4.0 rally this weekend, and declares a state of emergency thereafter? Nevertheless, there’s no turning back for the rally, which could be the mother of all rallies, so here’s your survival kits and checklist before the actual big day.

1. Meeting Point & Time (Malaysia)
 
Bersih 4.0 is scheduled to take place from 2pm, Saturday Aug 29 until Sunday midnight Aug 30. It is scheduled to take place simultaneously in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching in Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. In Kuala Lumpur, five locations have been set as meeting points before marching towards Dataran Merdeka:

Sogo KL (2 pm)
Pasar Seni (2 pm)
Dataran Maybank (2 pm)
Brickfields (2 pm)
Masjid Negara (2 pm)
However, there will not be any marching in Kuching (Sarawak) and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah). The rally points for Kuching and Kota Kinabalu are Song Kheng Hai rugby pitch (the site of the July 22 “Sarawak for Sarawakians” rally) and Tanjung Lipat respectively.
 
2. Important Numbers To Call If Arrested

If you cannot take the heat, stay at home. Otherwise, prepare for the worst, and that includes spending some time touring Malaysian prison. Yes, we know nobody care about remembering phone numbers anymore now. So, do yourself a favour by punching these numbers into your smartphone.

3.What To Bring

Depending whether you plan to be among the first person in your family or company to stay the whole 34-hour for the Bersih 4.0 rally, you may want to consider all or some of the following items.

1. Print out this PDF file from Malaysian Bar about what to do if arrested.
2. Identity Card
3. Cash – between RM50 to RM100, preferably small notes.
4. Touch & Go Card – use this for public transportation – fast & efficient – to escape long queue at ticket kiosks or counters.
5. Small packets of salt – to neutralize the effect of tear gas and to avoid yourself from choking should you inhale it.
6. Towel or cloth – a wet towel help ease the pain on your eyes in case of tear-gassed.
7. An extra T-shirt – will be useful after a messy day of being chemical-sprayed
8. Pen and Notepad – to write information such as police’s name and ID number on his uniform and questions asked by police if arrested.
9. Camera, Video Camera, Smart Phone – remember to water-proof them with a plastic bag.
10. Mineral water / Isotonic drink and Chocolate bars – to avoid dehydration and regenerate energy.

 

11. Sunglasses / Goggles and a Mask – while sunglasses and goggles can protect your eyes from tear gas, a mask provides some protection against chemicals in the tear gas.
12. Glasses instead of Contact Lenses – you’re going for a rally and not a concert so go figure.
13. Wear Appropriately – we recommend Bersih 4.0 T-shirt, short or long pants and a pair of sport shoes / sneakers. With lots of walking and running, don’t wear slippers or high heels.
14. Smartphone and Powerbank – fully charge both gadgets. You need as much juices as possible during the 34-hour rally.
15. Password protect your smart phones. For iPhone, goto Settings > General > About, take a snapshot photo of your serial number, IMEI, ICCID, or MEID and email the photo to yourself. In case of missing phone when your personal belongings are returned to you upon release from the police, this info is particularly useful.
16. Personal medical necessities – inhalers, diabetic medicine, insulin medicine etc.
17. Some basic first aid kits such as plasters – ready to share it with fellow participants.

4.  What “NOT” To Bring
 
While the rally is supposed to be a carnival-liked festival, Najib administration is shivering in fear as can be seen with all the intimidation from the police and even the threat from the armed forces about taking over should the corrupted regime declares state of emergency.

Don’t bring your children – chances are high the police would unleash water cannon and tear gas.
Don’t wear jewelry – leave your gold bracelets and Rolex at home.
Don’t bring wallet / purse – to avoid being pickpocketed and possibly robbed.
Don’t provoke the police – for obvious reason
Don’t bring firecrackers, sharp objects, smoke bombs or any other dangerous weapons.

5.  What Apps Your Smartphone Must Have
 
Your smartphone is your best companion, in case you and your partners and friends get separated. But thanks to technology, your chance of surviving is as good as the apps you’ve installed in your gadget. So here’s some apps you must have.

 

1. FireChat – this is the your last line of defence (or rather communication) in an event service providers Maxis, Celcom and DIGI execute government orders by disrupting voice and data communications.
2. Intercom for Android – this app acts like a simple walkie talkie (two way radio) which lets you place a group calls with other Android devices over Bluetooth and Wifi – no Internet needed.
3. VPN – use virtual private network for secure communication and there’re tons of free VPN available for use. VPN Master is particularly well received.
4. Whatsapp, WeChat, Viber, LINE, Skype – instant messaging apps for sharing photos, videos about anything, including police brutality or agent provocateur, if there’s any.
5. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – social networking media to share your experience with the world.
 
6. Going To Destination Point
 
Remember that the present government will do anything in its power to intimidate and bully you. So, before you could even join the rally, you may have been arrested on your way to the rally point. Here’re some guidelines to make your journey enjoyable and safe:

Inform someone you’re attending Bersih 4.0 rally – family members or friends

Take public transportation such as buses, trains, LRT, monorail – you can’t enter the city because the police have close all the roads leading to Dataran Merdeka.

Mix with prospect demonstrators inside buses, trains, LRT, monorail as you need the group’s teamwork, help and tips; especially if you’re a first timer.

Identify your “Field Commander” and follow his instructions. Move in groups.- financetwitter

Sultan Johor kasi warning kat Menteri Nazri Aziz dan...

Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar hari ini memberi amaran keras kepada dua ahli politik Umno.

Baginda “menasihatkan” ahli politik, khususnya anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Kempas Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid Tengku Hamid Jumat supaya tidak campur urusan istana atau membuat kenyataan mengaitkan istana.

Sultan Ibrahim juga memberi amaran keras kepada menteri pelancongan Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz yang sebelum ini memberi amaran untuk “membelasah” Tengku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) jika baginda campur tangan dalam politik.

“Ada juga pemimpin kerajaan yang langsung tidak beradab apabila bercakap, dengan melabelkan orang lain sebagai orang gila; dan lebih teruk lagi dengan angkuh dan sombong hendak “whack” anakanda saya (TMJ).

“Adakah pemimpin seperti ini patut dihormati? Ingatlah pepatah Melayu sering menyebut “kerana pulut santan binasa, kerana mulut badan binasa”.

Sultan Ibrahim bertitah demikian sempena majlis perasmian Masjid Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil, di ibu pejabat polis kontinjen Johor.

Petikan ucapan itu dimuat naik ke Facebook rasmi pasukan bola sepak negeri Johor Southern Tigers.

Sementara itu, dalam ucapan sama, baginda juga bertitah tidak akan mencampuri urusan mana-mana parti politik.

Titah baginda, walaupun banyak pemimpin politik yang datang berjumpa, baginda hanya mendengar cerita mereka dan tidak akan memihak kepada mana-mana parti atau individu.

“Apa yang saya pentingkan adalah kesejahteraan hidup rakyat saya dan kemakmuran negeri Johor mesti dijaga melalui perpaduan dan pengukuhan muafakat bangsa Johor,” titah baginda.

Timbalan Muhyiddin Yassin sebelum ini mengadap baginda selepas digugurkan sebagai timbalan perdana menteri, yang dispekulasikan beliau mendapat dukungan istana.- mk

 

Sultan targets Umno rep, Nazri in 'warning' to politicians...

Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar issued a warning to all politicians, zeroing in on Umno Kempas assemblyperson Tengku Putra Haron Aminulrashid and minister Nazri Abdul Aziz.

The monarch reminded politicians not to intervene in palace affairs or make statements linked to the palace.
The sultan said this in response to certain politicians who made remarks that sounded arrogant.

"My advice to politicians - among them is the Kempas state assemblyperson - is not to meddle in the affairs of the Johor palace or try to make statements that implicate the palace.

"There are also leaders in the government who are totally rude when speaking up, by labelling others as 'crazy' and even worse, being so arrogant as to wanting to 'whack' my son," he said.

Sultan Ibrahim appeared to be referring to Nazri (photo), who was embroiled in a verbal tussle with the crown prince Tunku Ismail.

"Are these the kind of leaders that are to be respected? 

Remember that one's words can lead to one's downfall," he added in his speech after Friday prayers.

Sultan Ibrahim also stressed that he did not interfere in political matters.

Caution against vested interests

Tengku Putra, on the other hand, courted flak from the sultan when he commented that Tunku Ismail's warning to politicians attempting to get close to his father and counsel him for personal interests should also apply to business tycoons in the state.

The prince's remark came in the wake of Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Zahid Hamidi's audience with the sultan and his claim that the ruler believes Umno is the only party which can unite the Malays.

Though Zahid said the sultan did not express this in words, he believes the monarch is counting on Umno.

However, Tunku Ismail (photo) responded by saying he does not support any political party, except true and honest leaders.

Following this, the Kempas assemblyperson, in a blog post, stated: 

"We highly respect the stand taken by his royal highness the crown prince of Johor and the caution to those who seek to become friends or be close with his royal highness the sultan for personal gains or political capital.

"As we are in no position whatsoever to speak on his royal highness' behalf, we hope that his royal highness (Tunku Ismail) caution applies not only to the politicians but also to the unscrupulous businessmen with the intent of 'printing money' in fast track motion in this robust and fast developing economy of the great state of Johor, who do not observe the sensitivities and the well-being of the rakyat, namely the Malays." - mk

Dunia tahu siapa Najib yang sebenar...

Bekas duta Amerika Syarikat ke Malaysia, John Malott berkata, masyarakat dunia kini sudahpun dapat wajah sebenar Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Malott berkata, imej Najib di persada antarabangsa – yang digilap oleh agensi perhubungan raya dengan kos sehingga jutaan ringgit – amat berbeza dengan wajah “korup” perdana menteri itu di ceruk rantau ini.

“Hari ini, (hasil laporan) akhbar dan majalah berprestij dunia, seluruh dunia tahu siapa Najib yang sebenar,” katanya dalam tulisan rencana disiarkan Malaysiakini hari ini.

Malott seterusnya membangkitkan mengenai kekangan kebebasan di bawah pentadbiran Najib, termasuk kekasaran polis ke atas peserta demonstrasi BERSIH dan penahanan ahli politik serta aktivis bawah Akta Hasutan.

“Dialah Najib yang korup, orang yang mengatur pembelian kapal selam Scorpene yang terlalu mahal, walau tidak berfungsi.

“Dan terbaru (dialah) orang di belakang 1MDB dan jutaan ringgit yang hilang. Dialah Najib yang menerima AS$700 juta dalam akaun bank peribadinya.

“Dialah Najib, yang mana beg tangan Birkin dan rantai leher zamrud jutaan dollar isterinya menjadi bahan pendedahan tiga halaman dalam The New York Times,” kata Mallot.

Malott memerhatikan bahawa Najib sering bercakap mengenai Global Movement of Moderates, reformasi ekonomi Malaysia dan usaha untuk mengubah Malaysia untuk menjadi model dunia.

“(Itu adalah) Najib yang palsu, Najib internasional, Najib yang bercakap muluk-muluk di luar negara.

“Najib itu disokong oleh jutaan dolar dalam bentuk yuran perhubungan raya. (Najib) malah berjaya mengecek presiden Amerika Syarikat untuk bermain golf, Krismas lalu,” tulis Malott.

Tambahnya, Najib pasti akan menggunakan kaedah sama pada hujung minggu ini melalui kekerasan polis untuk menyuraikan perhimpunan aman BERSIH 4.

“Najib akan gunakan gas pemedih mata, air kimia dan belantan polis untuk mengekalkan kekuasaannya.

“Seluruh dunia akan melihat dan akhirnya sedar siapakan (Najib) yang sebenar.
“Dan Najib akan berakhir.”- mk

Internationally, it's game over for Najib...

Ever since he became prime minister in 2009, Najib Razak cut a very impressive swath overseas.

Armed with his impeccable English, a product of his British education, and dressed immaculately in his elegant bespoke British suits, Najib talked a good game. He traveled the world and spoke of how he wanted to reform Malaysia's political and economic systems and transform his nation into a model for the world.

He spoke at the United Nations time and again of a Global Movement of Moderates, of which Malaysia would be the leader. He spoke of Malaysia as a tolerant nation that respected all religions and races.

In contrast to former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whose trips were primarily to Third World nations, Najib actively courted the United States and European nations - the lands of Mahathir's dreaded "orang putih."

Backing all of Najib's efforts was a multi-million dollar international PR operation, paid for by the taxpayers. It was aimed at swaying international opinion. 

It spent untold millions on PR firms Apco and FBC Media. 

Their job was to puff up Najib and tear down the political opposition, along with anyone who dared to tell the truth about what was really going on in Malaysia.

And most of the outside world believed what Najib and his PR machine had to say.

But for the past few years, there were a number of people outside Malaysia, myself included, who tried to tell the world what the truth was - what really was going on in Malaysia. That Malaysia was no longer the country they thought it was, and that they should not believe Najib's paid propaganda agents.

We wanted people to know that there were two Najibs. There was the fake Najib, the international Najib, the Najib who talked a good game overseas. That Najib was backed up by millions of dollars in PR fees. That man even fooled the President of the United States into a game of golf just last Christmas.

The real Najib

And then there is the other Najib, the real Najib.

He is the "domestic" Najib, the man who stifles freedom. The man whose police force tear-gassed people in the streets for demanding free and fair elections. The man who has arrested scores of opposition politicians and dissidents under the Sedition Act.

He is the corrupt Najib, the man who arranged the over-priced purchase of non-functioning Scorpene submarines, and most recently, the man behind 1MDB and its missing billions.

He is the Najib who received US$700 million into his personal bank account.

He is the Najib whose wife's many Birkin bags and multi-million dollar emerald necklaces were the subject of a three-page expose in The New York Times.

Today, thanks to the most prestigious newspapers and magazines in the world, the whole world knows who the real Najib is. Now the world understands that there is only one Najib.

And it is not the dapper, suave, reformist Najib that they believed in.

So, it is game over for Najib Razak internationally.

On Saturday, tens of thousands of Malaysians will march in Bersih 4 to protest Najib's authoritarian rule.

It is certain that Najib, the man who brazenly stood before international fora and proclaimed himself to be a reformer and a liberal, will send his police force in to break up the rally.

Najib will deploy tear gas, chemical-laced water, and police batons to ensure his rule.
The whole world will be watching - and finally will realise what kind of man he is.

It truly will be game over for Najib.- mk

Sekat laman sesawang Bersih 4...

Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) telah memutuskan untuk menyekat laman sesawang yang “mempromosi dan menyebarkan maklumat” tentang Bersih 4.

Pengumuman itu dilakukan melalui akaun Facebook SKMM, menyifatkan yang keputusan berbuat demikian disebabkan rapat umum itu akan “mengancam kestabilan negara”.

Tetapi bukankah “sekatan” ini sudah agak terlewat? Bersih 4 hanya dua hari lagi dan kini, rakyat sudah mempunyai maklumat yang mencukupi. Mereka yang mahu menghadirinya sudahpun memutuskan untuk berbuat demikian.

Sekarang, pastinya semua orang sudah menyedari kuasa internet dan media sosial dan tindakan menyekat laman sesawang yang menyebarkan perkembangan terkini mengenai rapat umum ini pastinya tidak akan membantu mengurangkan jumlah penyertaan, jika benarlah itu adalah niat SKMM?

Ada ketikanya, rakyat Malaysia tertanya-tanya samada pihak berkuasa sudah kehabisan idea untuk mengawal berita mengenai Bersih 4 pada 29-30 Ogos?

Sehingga kini, mereka telah mencuba pelbagai helah yang terdapat dalam peraturan bagi menghalang rakyat daripada menyertai rapat umum ini. Ia bermula dengan amaran bahawa rapat umum ini melanggar undang-undang dan mereka yang terlibat akan dihukum. Ia kemudiannya menjadi ancaman yang lebih halus, seperti dakwaan yang kini sudah dinafikan tentang penggunaan pistol taser kepada peserta.

Kemudian, wakil-wakil rakyat Umno mahu meraih simpati dengan berkata yang rapat umum itu akan menyebabkan ekonomi semakin menjunam.

Itupun tidak berkesan.

Jadi, mengapa SKMM tidak menamakan laman sesawang khusus yang akan mereka sekat? Adakah ini termasuk laman berita seperti Malaysiakini yang berada di baris depan pelaporan rapat umum itu?

Hakikatnya, tindakan menyekat mana-mana laman sesawang sekarang, atau lebih awal lagi, tidak akan membantu sesiapa dalam apa juga cara.

Tiada sesiapa yang berkata “mari log in laman web ini untuk mendapatkan maklumat tentang Bersih 4” untuk memastikan mereka mengetahui perkembangan terkini.

Mereka mempunyai Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp dan pelbagai cara lagi yang boleh mereka harapkan untuk mendapatkan maklumat dan perkembangan terkini rapat umum tersebut.

Adakah SKMM juga akan menyekat capaian kepada Twitter dan Facebook?

Jelas sekali, SKMM tidak tahu di manakah keutamaan mereka.

Ketika laman-laman sesawang yang mempromosikan ideologi Islamic State (IS) tumbuh bak cendawan selepas hujan pada tahap yang sangat membimbangkan, badan pengawalselia itu sibuk melakukan perkara yang tidak penting.

Benarkah rapat umum Bersih lebih mengancam keselamatan negara berbanding ancaman IS, wahai SKMM?

Petronas has to pay out of their reserves and borrowings, especially that RM5 Billion sukuk recently. Ini business model style apa pula?

Exactly. The gomen can easily operate on half or one third of the annual budget. Because cronies overprice all the crony  projects three or four times market prices. If you get rid of crony contracts the gomen can save billions in expenditure. We will not need GST.

On Monday, Najib defended the tax, saying that Malaysia was fortunate to have GST to generate revenue as the country needed money to cover its expenses.     He said that national earnings from oil exports and Petronas dividends were down because of the fall in energy prices, adding that without the 6% GST, Malaysia would be financially pressured.
 
Confirmed this guy is an @$$hole. 'without 6% Malaysia would be financially pressured.." ? He is talking about billions wasted, including that RM42 Billion that has gone poof. I say moron what about the rakyat? The GST has caused the rakyat to suffer price rises of 15% or more for products. Leave the people alone. They know how to cover their expenses. You need the GST  to cover YOUR expenses ? Everyone knows that.

The ringgit has been Asia's worst performer in the past one year, with many attributing its poor performance to worsening global outlook, China's surprise devaluation of the yuan, plunging commodity prices and the current political scandal linked to Najib.

The 2.6 billion donation?

1. Dato’ Sri Najib and his supporters should stop trying to convince Malaysians that the 2.6 billion Ringgit in his private account is a donation.

2. No one believes or can believe such a huge sum of money can be donated by anyone to Dato’ Sri Najib or to anyone for whatever reason.

3. Explaining that it was given because of Malaysia’s stand against the Islamic State is absurd as the Islamic State showed their brand of terrorism only in 2014 whereas the money came in in 2013 or before.

4. Saying that it is because of Malaysia’s moderation in Islam is equally absurd as Malaysia had never been extreme in its practice of Islam.

5. Why 700 million dollars? Surely it is too big for the needs of Malaysian elections, except if it is to bribe the Malaysian electorate. Why should anyone want to bribe the Malaysian electorate so Najib would win. Malaysians have supported the BN without the need to be paid huge bribes by anyone, least of all by foreigners.

6. The new DPM says he has seen the Arab who gave the money. Then let him give proof that this Arab has huge sums of money to give away to Malaysia and many other countries. Which countries?. What is the source of this money?. What business does he do? What is the name of the bank he uses? Show his account in the bank, the cheques he issued, particularly the 700 million USD. The recipient bank should be holding these cheques.

7. All these information could have been verified by the task force of four. But Najib dismantled the task force by sacking the A.G., sending the head of MACC on leave, and accusing Bank Negara of leaking Government secrets.

8. Now the MACC is said to be still investigating the 2.6 billion. It is an emasculated MACC. If Najib is serious about investigating his 2.6 billion Ringgit in Ambank, he should reconstitute the original tasks force. A new task force filled with his people has no credibility.

9. Banks have to maintain banking secrecy. But banks are also required to report suspected money laundering. Malaysian banks, Singapore banks, Swiss banks and American banks must not keep secret their business with money suspected of being stolen. What have they done?

10. When stolen money is put through banks, the objective is to make it legal, to launder it. Yet the money has disappeared from Ambank because the account was closed.

11. When the account is closed, it cannot mean that the huge amount of money is taken out in cash. It must have been transferred to another bank. Yet we don’t hear of any bank anywhere reporting this money is with them. Two accounts are reported to be frozen in Singapore. Is that all. Surely the holder of the account should be investigated. But so far nothing is heard. Do the banks get to keep the money! If it is not reported to the authorities for action to be taken, then effectively the money has been laundered.

12. If this is so then why have banks to scrutinise large amounts of money deposited with it. They might as well not scrutinise if the suspiciously huge amount of money, the subject of much controversy is just retained by them.

13. The public has a right to know because the public does not believe that the 2.6 billion Ringgit was a gift personally to the PM of Malaysia for him to win elections. Malaysians would not like to believe their candidate for the highest office in the country is a nominee of some person from another country. What will be his obligation to his supporters. Will he serve Malaysians or some foreign country.

RM2.6 bilion bukan derma, duit 1MDB, kata Dr Mahathir...

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad enggan mempercayai RM2.6 bilion yang masuk ke akaun peribadi Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak adalah duit derma, sebaliknya yakin ia ada kaitan dengan 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Walaupun derma itu disahkan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), bekas perdana menteri itu berkata penjelasan itu tidak dapat diterima memandangkan jumlahnya yang terlalu besar.

"Saya tak percaya ia derma. Saya tak percaya ada orang yang sanggup beri sama ada Arab atau sesiapa sahaja," katanya dalam temu bual bersama akhbar perniagaan antarabangsa Financial Times.

Beliau yakin Najib lambat-laun akan dipaksa untuk melepaskan jawatannya walaupun enggan berbuat demikian.

"Saya rasa pada satu tahap beliau perlu berundur kerana hari ini beliau menjejaskan sistem undang-undang," katanya.

Najib sebelum ini berkata, RM2.6 bilion yang dimasukkan ke akaun Ambank tidak digunakan bagi tujuan peribadi tetapi untuk parti dan pilihan raya umum (PRU) lalu.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi minggu lalu berkata, pihaknya bertemu ketua pegawai pelaburan dan pemegang amanah harta keluarga Arab yang mendermakan wang berbilion ringgit kepada Najib.

Katanya, dermawan Arab itu menjelaskan negara ini bukanlah satu-satunya pihak yang menerima sumbangan berkenaan kerana ada banyak sahabat daripada kalangan negara Islam mendapat sumbangan sama seperti itu.

"Mereka mahu Umno dan Barisan Nasional (BN) tetap memerintah negara," katanya.

Zahid ketika berucap merasmikan Mesyuarat Perwakilan Umno Bahagian Sri Gading, Batu Pahat minggu lalu berkata, penderma dana dari Arab Saudi itu mempunyai 3 sebab utama untuk menderma dana berkenaan kepada Umno melalui akaun bank presidennya.

"Pertama, Malaysia yang diterajui Umno dan BN mempunyai undang-undang mengekang keganasan kumpulan militan Negara Islam Syria dan Iraq (Isis).

"Kedua, Umno yang diterajui perdana menteri memperjuangkan Islam dan mengamalkan ajaran Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah.

"Dan yang ketiga, derma itu sebagai mengiktiraf Malaysia sebuah negara sederhana yang menjalankan hukum Islam biarpun terdiri daripada masyarakat pelbagai kaum," katanya dilaporkan media 22 Ogos lalu. – tmi

Dr M insists Najib's RM2.6b linked to 1MDB...

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has insisted the RM2.6 billion in deposits in Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak personal bank accounts is linked to troubled state-fund 1MDB.

This is despite the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) declaring that the money was a donation and was not linked to 1MDB.

“I think it has something to do with 1MDB despite the explanation that it was a donation," said Mahathir in an interview with the Financial Times published today.

Mahathir also reiterated that no one could believe that the large sum of funds was actually a donation.

“I don’t believe it is a donation. I don’t believe anybody would give (that much), whether an Arab, or anybody,” he was quoted as saying.

In the interview, Mahathir expressed confidence that Najib will eventually be forced to relinquish power.

"I think at some stage he has to go because today he has undermined the legal system," he said, making reference to apparent attempts to scuttle investigations into the RM2.6 billion and 1MDB. Continue reading here...
