PAC harus panggil Najib dulu...

Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak perlu memberi keterangan di hadapan Jawatankuasa Kira-kira Awam (PAC) berdasarkan pendedahan bahawa urusan kewangan kontroversi 1MDB mungkin dibuat dengan keizinannya, kata Naib Presiden PKR Rafizi Ramli.

Ini selepas Malaysiakini mendedahkan semalam bahawa Memorandum dan Tata Urusan Syarikat (M&A) Lembaga Pelaburan Terengganu (TIA), pendahulu kepada 1MDB, menghendaki semua urusan perlu diluluskan oleh perdana menteri.

Katanya, keterangan Najib akan membersihkan sebarang keraguan sama ada atau tidak, beliau tahu terdapat salah urus dalam 1MDB.

"Saya fikir adalah terbaik untuk Najib memperuntukkan satu atau dua hari untuk datang ke Parlimen dan menjelaskannya," kata Rafizi kepada Malaysiakini.

Menurutnya, Najib juga perlu disoal oleh PAC kerana ia kini bukan hanya setakat pengurusan kanan - beliau adalah sebahagian daripada transaksi 1MDB dan dalam kedudukan untuk menjelaskan.

Walaupun TIA telah menukar namanya kepada 1MDB, Rafizi, yang juga ahli Parlimen Pandan, berkata beliau yakin 1MDB mewarisi sepenuhnya M&A TIA.

"Apabila anda menukar nama syarikat, anda tidak menukar M&A kerana ia adalah entiti yang sama" katanya.

Tambahnya, apa yang bermula sebagai TIA jelas akan diwarisi sepenuhnya oleh 1MDB dan "jika anda merujuk kepada nombor syarikat mereka, ianya sama." - mk

An opposition MP has urged the authorities to investigate Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for possible criminal breach of trust or criminal fraudulence.

This follows revelations that Najib's written approval was required for the controversial deals undertaken by Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA), the predecessor of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli (photo) said Clause 117 of TIA's memorandum and articles of association (M&A) clearly states that the prime minister is among the company's decision makers and Najib should therefore be implicated in any wrongdoing by the company.

"I urge agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Auditor-General's Department and the police to investigate the prime minister," Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

Rafizi said that at the very least, the authorities must investigate the financial transactions involving 1MDB's joint-venture with PetroSaudi International. - mk

Parlimen digesa gantung perbahasan berkaitan Rancangan Malaysia ke-11 (RMK11) segera dan memberi laluan kepada Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak menjelaskan peranannya dalam kontroversi berkaitan 1MDB.

Ketua Parlimen DAP Lim Kit Siang membuat gesaan itu susulan laporan bahawa kelulusan perdana menteri diperlukan untuk sebarang komitmen kewangan pelopor 1MDB, Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA), dan sama ada peraturan itu masih terpakai.

Lim berkata jika perkara itu benar Najib ternyata berpura-pura di Parlimen dan kepada orang awam dengan berkata beliau tidak bertanggungjawab terhadap operasi harian 1MDB dan hanya mempengerusikan lembaga penasihat syarikat itu.

“Ini mungkin kali pertama dalam sejarah negara apabila perdana menteri 'kantoi' berpura-pura besar,” katanya.

Dalam kenyataannya hari ini Lim berkata perkara itu seperti undi tidak percaya di Parlimen sama ada beliau patut kekal sebagai perdana menteri.

Persoalan berhubung bidang kuasa Najib timbul selepas Malaysiakini melaporkan bahawa Memorandum dan Tata Urusan Syarikat (M&A) bertarikh 2 September 2009, menyebut kelulusan bertulis perdana menteri diperlukan untuk sebarang komitmen kewangan Lembaga Pelaburan Terengganu (TIA).

Ini termasuk urusan pelaburan, penstrukturan semula atau sebarang keputusan berkaitan dasar kerajaan pusat.

Jika itu keadaannya, bermakna banyak perjanjian kontroversi 1MDB yang kini diperkatakan ramai mungkin dijalankan dengan keizinan perdana menteri.

Apa yang jelas, Najib berkuasa penuh ke atas agensi berkenaan ketika ia masih dikenali sebagai TIA.

Peruntukan 117 dalam memorandum itu juga menyatakan, kelulusan bertulis perdana menteri diperlukan untuk meminda sebarang butiran dalam M&A serta pelantikan pengarah syarikat dan ahli pengurusan kanan. - mk

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak must testify before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in light of revelations that controversial financial deals by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) were likely made with his consent, said PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.

This is after Malaysiakini yesterday revealed that the memorandum and articles of association (M&A) of Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA), the predecessor of 1MDB, required all deals to be approved by the prime minister.

"It is quite clear now that he would have been in the know. It (Najib’s testimony) will clear any doubt whether or not he knows there is mismanagement in 1MDB.

"I think it is best for Najib to allocate a day or two to come to Parliament and explain in light of this.

"He should also be questioned by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) because it is now not just the senior management - he was part and parcel of 1MDB's transactions and would be in a position to explain," Rafizi told Malaysiakini when contacted.

Even though TIA had changed its name to 1MDB, Rafizi, who is Pandan MP, said he was confident that the latter inherited TIA's M&A in full, which is similar to the constitution of an association.

"When you change a company's name, you don't go back and change the M&A because it's the same entity.

"What started out as TIA obviously would have been inherited lock, stock and barrel by 1MDB and if you refer to their company numbers, they are still the same," he said.

Furthermore, Rafizi said some may argue that TIA was incorporated on Feb 27, 2009, before Najib became prime minister but he pointed out that the M&A was adopted on Aug 11, 2009, after Najib became prime minister in April.

"The incorporation of Clause 117 of the M&A was most probably done with his (Najib) knowledge and instruction," said Rafizi who is also PKR secretary-general.

‘The buck stops at Najib’

Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that the M&A’s clause 117 spelled out that the prime minister's written approval was required for any of TIA's financial commitment, including investments, restructuring or any matters concerning federal government policy, national interest and national security.

Clause 117 of the M&A also states that the premier's approval was required to amend the company's M&A and appointment of company directors and senior management members.

If Clause 117 of the M&A remains at status quo until today, it would mean that the prime minister had given his consent to many of 1MDB's controversial deals.

This include the decision to move US$1.1 billion from Cayman Islands to a bank in Singapore, the deal with Mongolia-based company Gobi Coal & Energy Limited (GCE) and the sale of Tun Razak Exchange land to the Lembaga Tabung Haji, among others.

As such, Rafizi said he did not agree with Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's calls in a closed-door Umno meeting, which video was leaked online, for the 1MDB board to be sacked.

"It is a collective responsibility and the buck stops at Najib when it comes to this kind of transactions by 1MDB which involved the transfer of billions and the award of government prime land cheaply to 1MDB," he said.

Consent is norm in GLCs

Rafizi, who had previously worked at Petronas, said the prime minister's consent is a norm when it comes to government-linked companies handling billions of ringgit and this was likewise the case in the oil company.

"If you have worked in an organisation like this, you would know that these kind of decisions can only be made at the top most level of authority.

"Even if it was approved by the 1MDB board, it would still require the necessary approval of the government and it would have been done with the consent and knowledge of the prime minister and minister of finance," he said.

Najib is also finance minister whose ministry wholly owns 1MDB, an investment company that has since accumulated a massive debt of RM42 billion.

1MDB president and group executive director Arul Kanda and former chief executive officer Shahrol Ibrahim Halmi were summoned to testify before the PAC on Monday but did not turn up after they asked for a 30-day extension.
                               
The duo said they have important engagement overseas but earned scorn for not giving priority to the PAC in light of the high profile public interest issue surrounding 1MDB.

PAC chairperson Nur Jazlan had previously said the committee will not call Najib as yet but all eyes will be on the committee's next move in light of the latest M&A revelation. - mk

MP fail aduan pada juruaudit 1MDB...

Sebuah aduan difailkan terhadap syarikat audit antarabangsa Deloitte kerana didakwa gagal memberi amaran sehingga didakwa menyebabkan 1MDB terus berhutang dan tidak mampu membayar balik.

Aduan itu difailkan oleh anggota Parlimen Petaling Jaya Utara Tony Pua di Institut Akauntan Malaysia di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.

“Deloitte Malaysia sengaja dan/atau cuai sehingga gagal mengambil tindakan wajar dan perlu serta mengaudit aliran tunai dan risiko kecairan 1MDB,” katanya.

Katanya Deloitte pada 5 November tahun lalu memperakui 1MDB tiada masalah walaupun syarikat itu berdepan krisis kecairan yang akan berlaku susulan tidak dapat membayar hutang RM2 bilion sebelum hujung bulan itu.

Beliau juga berkata aduan juga dibuat berkaitan cubaan 1MDB dan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Eazak yang didakwa cuba menggunakan nama Deloitte untuk menunjukkan urusan berkaitan syarikat itu berlaku secara jujur dan terbuka. - mk

Malaysia's most wanted...

Five years ago my father, Anwar Ibrahim, delivered a speech right here on this very stage entitled 'Half A Century of One Party Rule'.

He was talking about my country, Malaysia, which has been dominated by the same party for more than 50 years.

That same year here at the Oslo Freedom Forum my father spoke on the same stage as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who declared that: "When you meet Anwar, be careful."

During his visit to Malaysia, Julian was detained by secret police just hours after speaking to my father.

My father—a popular and unifying figure in my country’s history—is seen as a very dangerous man by the Umno party regime.

When he served as deputy prime minister and Minister of Finance in the 1990s, he amended the anti-corruption law to further strengthen it – which displeased the political elites - and by September 1998 his anti-corruption campaign led to his sacking from government, arrest, his beating under custody whilst blindfolded and handcuffed, and his eventual sentence and imprisonment in trials that were condemned by rights organisations and governments worldwide.

Initially, it was announced that at least 20 charges would be brought against my father; including treachery, being an American and Israeli agent, corruption and sodomy. They did forget to throw in the kitchen sink.

They jailed him for six years, much of which he spent in solitary confinement.

Anwar’s trials earned Malaysia our own International Commission of Jurists report– the very same body that observed Nelson Mandela’s flawed trial. It was entitled: Justice in Jeopardy, Malaysia 2000.

As I speak to you today, Anwar, my father, and the former Opposition Leader of Malaysia, is behind bars again on his second trumped up charges of sodomy.

I have been told that of the nearly 200 speakers in this conference’s history, only four are in jail right now: my father, Nayeel Rajab from Bahrain, Thulani Maseko from Swaziland and Leopoldo Lopez from Venezuela. The Malaysian regime keeps some very authoritarian company.

Specifically, for my father, this is his third incarceration since 1998. He is now in urgent need of medical attention.

My father was also a political prisoner in his youth; when he was about my age. Thankfully, he grew more handsome over the years but no less rebellious.

How 1998 changed us all

The year 1998 brought the historic Asian Financial Crisis and my father’s imprisonment to Malaysia. Equally important for me, it marked my own political awakening.

As a child I wanted to be an engineer, and I would have pursued that if it wasn't for the events of 1998. Well, I owe the Malaysian government many thanks for getting me involved in politics. Really, I do.

If my government didn't abuse institutions – influencing the judiciary, rigging votes, controlling the media, if they didn’t use force to shut their opponents up – my father would be free, and I might be working for Shell or any other decent oil and gas company. Or maybe not - not with oil at US$60 a barrel.

Well, now it is not just Anwar who is Malaysia's most wanted.

It also includes me and the whole opposition, the movement for free and fair elections (Bersih), and many others demanding for a democratic and just Malaysia .

In our last national elections in 2013, Anwar Ibrahim led the opposition to victory, winning 52 percent of the vote.

But he was defeated by extreme gerrymandering, malapportionment and election fraud. The ruling coalition clung to power by holding on to 60 percent of the seats.

The Electoral Integrity Project, based in University of Sydney and Harvard University recently rated Malaysia as having the worst electoral-district boundaries in the world and among the worst election rules. This places Malaysia alongside countries like Zimbabwe, Angola and Egypt.

The government’s gerrymandering was compounded by the abuse of postal votes. In fact, out of 222 seats we lost almost 30 to postal votes and early votes alone!

And since those flawed elections in 2013; almost 20 Members of Parliament and state legislators have been charged, arrested, and locked up, along with 150 others including lecturers, students, journalists, even a cartoonist and ordinary citizens.

So now you might be thinking, "What about you, Izzah?"

Growing up, I was a prefect, and like the rest of you here - never smoked pot in my entire life.

I played by the rules. I was a model example of a compliant citizen who wanted to go along and get along.

But, mind you, thanks to the corruption, oppression and sheer injustice of the Malaysian government, this girl scout is now a second term Member of Parliament – defeating two sitting Ministers along the way - thanks to my electorate who voted in favor of reforms.

Behind the sunshine and the twin towers

In March, I was recently arrested and locked up for a speech I made on behalf of my father in Parliament.

Yes, beautiful, sunny, twin towers-clad Malaysia. But Members of Parliament have zero parliamentary immunity and can be arrested for sedition.

The whole experience of being a political prisoner in Malaysia is quite bizarre.

We have a draconian 67-year-old prison rules which forbid slippers behind bars, for example, as the government claims they could be used for suicide. The colonial British laws the Malaysian government loves to preserve.

So you spend the night sleeping on the floor only to be asked questions such as:

"Who is this devil you referred to in your speech made in Parliament?"

You see, I had condemned the Federal Court judges in my father's case for having sold their souls to the devil.

I said this because Malaysia needed judicial reform. Along with electoral reform and fighting for a multiracial Malaysia - where diversity is seen as a strength, not something that divides us.

Reformists in my country are the most wanted, and the most feared by our government. Why? Because we are the future - with a zeal for reform.

Malaysia’s most wanted are those who clamour for an end to the unequal distribution of wealth and against corruption and extravagance of the men or women who govern over us.

Malaysia’s most wanted are those who despair that our children receive low international education rankings - at one point we were surpassed by Vietnam!

Malaysia’s most wanted are those, who reject the use of racial and religious extremism to scare indigenous Malays into voting for the status quo.

Malaysia’s most wanted are those, who realise anti-terrorism laws are often just guises to justify the detention of political dissenters in the name of 'security and stability.'

They can't lock us all up

Malaysia’s most wanted are those sick to the bone with failed governance and mammoth financial scandals, most recently the controversial government investment fund, 1Malaysia Development Bhd has burdened Malaysia with a RM42 billion debt.

The prime minister also the finance minister is the chairman of 1MDB’s board of advisors. Dubious financial dealings now go hand in hand with the Malaysian government.

Malaysia’s most wanted are the young generation of Malaysians, up to 88 percent of whom voted for my party in the recently concluded Permatang Pauh by-elections.

My father's seat - which he lost upon his conviction – has been retained by our party, despite the enormous political and financial obstacles put in our way by the regime.

Malaysia’s most wanted will not give up. Just last week, the Opposition Coalition chose my mother as Malaysia’s Opposition Leader.

They can’t lock all of us up. The reformist might be behind bars but the reform agenda stays true.

We know that more of the world will see beyond the Petronas Twin Towers and give more attention to us, Malaysia's most wanted, the rising dissidents and democrats who refuse to accept the current government.

So what of the future you ask? I’ll tell you. The future belongs and will be determined by Malaysia’s most wanted.

Long live reform. Long live Reformasi!

Zahid,why Kedah spared rebuke over refugee refusal...

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng questions why Kedah is spared rebuke by Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi when Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir said Kedah has no resources to shelter thousands of refugees.

Zahid (photo) earlier accused Lim of hypocrisy, when Lim said it needed to first review the proposal to build a refugee camp in Penang, because the state is densely-populated.

"We agreed to cooperate with the federal government about the issue and yet we are kept in the dark about it," Lim said at a press conference in George Town.

"I regret that we are also being criticised for our stand on the Rohingya although we are willing to cooperate with BN," he added.

"When Kedah said no to the refugees, no one criticised them," he lamented.

Penang was proposed for a refugee camp, after more than 1,000 migrants landed on the Kedah island of Langkawi, a short ferry ride away from Penang, on May 11.

Zahid’s censure comes as police confirm discovery of 139 graves believed to be of human trafficking victims on the Malaysia-Thai border at Wak Kelian, Perlis, two weeks after claiming such graves do not exist.- mk

Did Najib okay 1MDB duo’s no-show at PAC hearing...

DAP today questioned the absence of 1Malaysia Development Berhad’s (1MDB) top bosses and asked if the prime minister allowed them to skip the bipartisan committee hearing in Parliament. 

Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang said this was one of the chief questions that the Malaysian public has been asking since it was made known that both 1MDB group executive director and president Arul Kanda Kandasamy and board member Datuk Shahrol Halmi would not be attending the Public Accounts Committee hearing today.

This comes after PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said both had requested to postpone their attendance at the committee’s hearing today.

"Did Najib as finance minister have knowledge that the duo would play truant from the PAC hearing scheduled today and did he give the green light for the duo to play truant from the PAC hearing today?" the DAP veteran leader asked Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"Have Arul and Sharom good reasons for playing truant from the scheduled PAC hearing on the 1MDB scandal today, when the duo had been given more than two weeks’ notice of the hearing?"

Shahrol was 1MDB's first CEO from February 2009 to March 2013, while Arul Kanda was appointed in January this year.

Both are key witnesses in the PAC's inquiry into the Finance Ministry-owned 1MDB, which has incurred RM42 billion in debts in just six years of operation.

Lim also asked why PAC was not informed about Shahrol and Arul Kanda's "important overseas appointments" when notice of the hearing was handed to them two weeks ago.

"PAC was only informed via a letter from the Finance Ministry on May 22 that the duo could not attend," he added.

The DAP parliamentary leader said that with all the scrutiny and public backlash over the state investment vehicle's debts and controversial dealings, it would have been more important for the duo to attend the hearing to put to rest all doubts.

"One would have thought that Najib and the 1MDB board would have welcomed the PAC hearing today to put to rest all doubts and queries about the integrity, transparency and good corporate governance which had been haunting the strategic development company for the past five years.

"This should be the case as Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has stood his ground that the 1MDB scandal is the 'last straw to break the camel’s back' and would cause the downfall of Umno Barisan Nasional.”

On top of severe criticism from former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had called Najib a "liar" in his latest blog posting, 1MDB should, in fact, be urging PAC to hold an earlier hearing to debunk all allegations against it.

"Did Najib or the relevant finance ministry authority ask the duo to reschedule their overseas appointment as their appearance before the PAC is more important so as to put to rest all doubts and queries about the 1MDB scandal as the biggest financial scandal in the country, and if not, why?" Lim asked.

Yesterday, PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said both Shahrol and Arul Kanda should be sacked for skipping the PAC hearing, saying that their actions showed a severe lack of accountability.

A staunch critic of the government's investment arm, Rafizi said the duo’s no-show could be due to directives from Najib, who wanted to prevent more worms from spilling out of the can.

PAC began its own hearings on the matter last Tuesday, after deciding not to wait for an independent probe by the auditor-general to be completed. – tmi

Folks that RM27 billion (+-) from the RM42 billion is gone.   Do not forget that extra RM4.0 billion that was lent to SRC. 

The numbers are so big that RM4 billion looks like peanuts. We should also be focussing on the RM4 billion involving SRC. 

So RM27 billion plus RM4 billion = RM31 billion is gone case. We are not going to see this money again.

Many of us have forgotten the timeline. This did not happen yesterday. The moneys began to fly out over a period of about 18 days in 2009. The 'earth moved' six long years ago already. Six years is a LONG, LONG time for the money to be reinvested, spent, transferred here and there etc. That money is gone.  

Even if the Nambawan boss man is kicked out tomorrow, this country must still pay back that RM42 billion + RM4 Billion = RM46 Billion, not including interest. 

Its really surprising that the MACC has not said much about this case. This is the largest case of funds gone missing ever in the history of the modern world. This is Guinness Book of World Records stuff. Yet the MACC boys are quiet as door mice. - syedsoutsidethebox

Keengganan pentadbiran 1MDB disiasat Jawatankuasa Kira-kira Wang Negara (PAC) adalah penghinaan kepada parlimen kata Ketua Parlimen DAP Lim Kit Siang.

“Setelah lima tahun 1MDB dihantui krisis kecuaian, tiada ketelusan dalam tadbir urus syarikat korporat kerajaan, sepatutnya 1MDB rela hati bertemu PAC.

“Keengganan bertemu PAC yang dijadualkan hari ini menunjukkan mereka cuba sembunyikan sesuatu.

“Ini adalah penghinaan kepada parlimen,” kata Kit Siang.

1MDB dalam kenyataannya semalam menjelaskan tarikh yang ditetapkan untuk memberi keterangan di PAC itu bertembung dengan satu temujanji di luar negara.

Sementara itu Ahli Parlimen Segambut, Lim Lip Eng mencadangkan PAC menggunakan peruntukan Akta Majlis Parlimen (Keistimewaan dan Kuasa) 1952 dan mendenda kedua-dua individu RM1,000 setiap hari, selagi gagal hadir ke siasatan jawatankuasa.

Malah melalui peruntukan tersebut, Arul Kanda dan Shahrol Halmi boleh ditangkap.

Najib lebih rela syarikat telco untung besar...

Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak perlu berhenti menjadi hipokrit dengan menyalahkan peniaga kecil kononnya mengeksploitasi cukai barangan dan perkhidmatan (GST) hingga menyebabkan rakyat terbeban akibat sistem percukaian itu.

Najib dalam sebuah program di Gopeng, Perak berkata, pemansuhan 5% dan 10% cukai jualan dan perkhidmatan (SST) sepatutnya mengurangkan harga, namun peniaga yang tidak bertanggungjawab menambah 6% GST yang menjadi punca kenaikan barang dan perkhidmatan.

“Pakatan Rakyat berulang kali memberi amaran kepada BN, iaitu sebelum GST dikuatkuasakan, harga barangan tidak akan turun.

“Namun, pentadbiran Najib percaya bahawa mereka boleh melawan hakikat dan meneruskannya,” kata Tony Pua.

Menurut Setiausaha Publisiti DAP itu, Najib dalam ucapan belanjawan 2015 sendiri berkata, daripada 944 barangan dan perkhidmatan dari indeks harga pengguna, 532 item atau 56% dijangka turun sehingga 4.1%, manakala kira-kira 354 item mengalami kenaikan, namun kurang daripada 5.8 %.

“Tak hairanlah perdana menteri yang juga menteri kewangan kelihatan seperti orang bodoh,” ujar Tony.

Dalam pada itu kata Tony, pentadbiran Najib menutup mata terhadap keuntungan besar dikaut syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi.

Selasa lalu, Menteri Komunikasi dan Multimedia Datuk Seri Shabery Cheek di Parlimen mengulangi pembelaannya terhadap syarikat tersebut untuk menaikkan tarif sebanyak 6%.

Akibatnya, pengguna kad prabayar tidak lagi menerima RM10 masa siaran bagi pembelian RM10, walaupun SST 6% dikenakan.

Sebaliknya, pengguna hanya mendapat RM9.43 perkhidmatan panggilan untuk setiap RM10, selepas bertukar kepada 6% GST.

Menurut Tony, walaupun menyerap cukai perkhidmatan 6%, Maxis Communications, Digi Telecommunications dan Celcom Axiata masing-masing masih membuat keuntungan sebelum cukai sebanyak RM2.44 bilion, RM2.65 bilion dan RM3.1 bilion pada 2014.

“Secara keseluruhan, mereka mengumpul RM12.8 bilion hasil perkhidmatan kad prabayar bagi tahun ini.

“Mengapa kerajaan BN membantu syarikat-syarikat ini membuat untung tambahan RM770?

“Ini tidak pun termasuk perolehan dan keuntungan dibuat pengendali rangkaian talian mudah alih maya (MVNO) lain seperti U-Mobile, Tune Talk dan XOX.

“Ketika Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri cuba menghukum restoran yang menaikkan harga roti canai sebanyak 30 sen, Najib membiarkan keuntungan RM770 juta kepada syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi.

“Tidak ada dasar mengaut keuntungan lebih besar dan tidak bertanggungjawab di negara daripada pelaksanaan GST, dan Najib memilih untuk menjadi hipokrit,” tegas Tony. – Roketkini.com

ADUN PAS ikrar pertahan mandat di S'gor...

Anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) PAS Hasnul Baharuddin berikrar akan terus mempertahankan kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat di Selangor jika keadaan dewan negeri tergantung benar-benar berlaku.

Katanya rakyat Selangor memberi mandat bukan hanya kepada PAS tetapi juga PKR dan DAP dan ia harus dihormati semua wakil rakyat.

“Saya akan terus pertahankan kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat kerana itu mandat yang diberi oleh rakyat,” katanya.

Hasnul dan seorang lagi ADUN PAS Saari Sungib sebelum ini tampil menyokong Presiden PKR Wan Azizah Ismail sebagai menteri besar baru Selangor ketika parti mereka belum membuat keputusan.

Sultan Selangor bagaimanapun memilih timbalan Azizah dalam PKR, Azmin Ali, sebagai menteri besar baru menggantikan Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

Ketika dihubungi Malaysiakini hari ini Hasnul berkata kenyataannya hari ini tidak bermaksud beliau akan meninggalkan PAS.

“Tapi saya akan lihat bagaimana perkembangan selepas ini,” katanya.

Sekiranya PAS keluar Pakatan, Selangor kemungkinan berdepan dengan situasi DUN tergantung.

Pada masa ini, PAS dan DAP masing-masing mempunyai 15 kerusi manakala PKR mempunyai 13, tidak termasuk Khalid yang kini ADUN bebas.

Terdapat 56 kerusi di Dewan Undangan Negeri, di mana 29 kerusi diperlukan untuk membentuk kerajaan dengan majoriti mudah.

Sekiranya PAS menarik diri, DAP dan PKR akan hanya mempunyai 28 kerusi.

Kebimbangan terhadap masa depan Pakatan semakin diperkatakan berikut kemelut antara DAP dan PAS Presiden, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

Pemerhati menjangkakan keadaan akan menjadi lebih teruk pada bulan Jun selepas pemilihan PAS, di mana kumpulan Hadi dijangka menguasai hampir sepenuhnya kepimpinan parti itu.

The future of the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat government will hang in the balance should PAS decide to withdraw from the coalition.

Whether or not Selangor will remain in the hands of Pakatan, albeit with a razor-thin majority, depends on two PAS assemblypersons - Saari Sungib and Hasnul Baharuddin.

"I will continue to defend the Pakatan government in Selangor because that is the mandate given by the people," he added.

Won't quit

However, Hasnul insisted that this does not mean he will leave the Islamic party.

At present, he said, PAS is still part of Pakatan and there has been no decision made to sever ties with DAP and PKR.

"Is it not to say I would quit the party.

"We would wait and see the development over this (Selangor) issue," he added.

Saari (photo), on the other hand, could not be reached for comment.

Hasnul and Saari, the Hulu Kelang assemblyperson, locked horns with the PAS leadership when they broke ranks and supported PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Selangor menteri besar during the state leadership crisis.

After the sultan’s intervention, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali took over the reins following Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's dismissal from the party.

Hung Parliament poser

Currently, PAS and DAP have 15 seats each while PKR has 13, excluding Abdul Khalid, who is now an independent assemblyperson.

There are 56 seats in the state assembly, thus 29 seats are needed to form a government with a simple majority.

Should all PAS assemblypersons withdraw, DAP and PKR will only have 28 seats.

Even DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng appears to be pining his hopes on the two PAS assemblypersons while conceding that a hung assembly and snap polls are possible.

"In Selangor, the two PAS assemblypersons supported Wan Azizah so this doesn't mean that if Pakatan dissolves, the Selangor government will collapse," he said. - mk
