PKR gantung keahlian Chegubard dan Sultan Perak mangkat...

Badrul Hisham Shaharin atau lebih dikenali sebagai Chegu Bard di antara mereka yang dikenakan tindakan disiplin oleh Lembaga Disiplin Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Chegu Bard dari Cabang Rembau diberi surat tunjuk sebab serta digantung keahlian parti serta merta sehingga siasatan selesai.

Menurut Pengerusi Lembaga Disiplin PKR, Datuk  Dr Tan Kee Kwong, Chegu Bard telah membuat kenyataan media yang mendakwa proses pemilihan adalah kotor dan tidak telus.

Siasatan Lembaga Disiplin juga mendapati,  beliau turut membuat dakwaan terbuka dengan menyatakan 'Petugas JPP menjadi agen kepada Azmin Ali' pada 12hb Mei 2014 dan disiarkan dalam laman mysuara.net dan Free Malaysia Today. 

"Responden telah juga membuat kenyataan terbuka mengkritik JPP dalam akhbar Berita Harian pada 21hb Mei 2014 bertajuk 'Keputusan penuh penipuan: Chegubard'," katanya dalam satu kenyataan.

Beberapa kes dibentangkan dalam mesyuarat biropolitik bertarikh 27 Mei 2014 yang dipengerusikan Presiden PKR Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Ketua Umum PKR Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dan Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Antara keputusan yang dicadangkan lembaga ini dan dipersetujui oleh biropolitik melibatkan pemecatan seorang ahli anggota PKR iaitu Md Yusop Kamaruddin daripada cabang Pasir Salak, dan empat anggota digantung keahlian.

Tan Kee Kwong berkata, Yusop dipecat dari PKR kerana telah mengingkari arahan surat penggantungan dan terus menjalankan aktiviti yang mencemar nama baik Parti dengan terus membuat kritikan dan serangan terhadap Jawatankuasa Pemilihan Pusat (JPP) dan Parti dalam laman sosial Facebook beliau.

Manakala, biropolitik juga telah bersetuju menarik balik penggantungan keanggotaan bagi empat lagi ahlinya yang masing-masing daripada Cabang Kota Raja.

PKR suspends Chegubard over media outburst

Majlis BN ni berlangsung di padang perumahan Taman Desa Bakti, Teluk Intan. Majlis yg dinamakan 'bekas anggota DAP menyertai BN' malam tadi KANTOI bila peserta sebaliknya mengaku masih setia menyokong DAP dan tidak diberitahu terlebih dahulu tentang tujuan majlis berkenaan dianjurkan.

"Saya ini Barisan tadak punya, sampai sekarang saya DAP punya orang. Saya bawa teksi punya orang, saya datang sini tangkap gambar punya. Saya (sejak umur) 21 tahun sampai sekarang umur saya 46 tahun, saya punya keluarga semua (sokong) DAP. Saya masih ahli (DAP), dia orang suruh datang, saya datang," kata salah seorang peserta yg TERKEJUT

Petugas media juga TERKEJUT pada awalnya menerima maklumat majlis itu diadakan untuk menerima anggota DAP yang akan 'melompat parti' kepada BN rupaya hanyalah WAYANG yg skripnya x menjadi..

Kesian Ahmad Maslan yg sememangnya BODOH dan bertaambah tambah BODOHnya bila diBODOHkan macai2nya sendiri.. 

Bizarre twists at DAP members joining BN bash...

With the clock ticking down for polling day on Saturday, it was supposed to be a feather in BN's cap: scores of DAP members would cross over to the ruling coalition.

Or so the media was told.

But what transpired in Teluk Intan late last night was something different from the script.

And some DAP members were bewildered when they found out the real reason behind the event.

One such person was 46-year-old taxi driver S Shantini.

Not being informed about the purpose of the event, Shantini was shocked when it was announced that she was one of 150 former DAP members who now support BN.

"I do not support BN. I have supported DAP since I was 21.

"I am a taxi driver and I came here to have my picture taken. I am still a (DAP) member. I was asked to come, so I came," she told reporters.

Shantini was then asked to leave by the organiser, known as "ayahanda" Arjami Ali from Malay non-governmental organisation Pewaris Malaysia.

MIC leader blames language barrier

MIC Wanita chief Mohana Muniandy, who was also present, blamed the confusion on language barrier.

"In what language did you ask her? Sometimes language is a barrier," Mohana (right) told the journalists, who then informed the politician that the question was framed in Bahasa Malaysia.

Asked why Shantini was told to leave the event early, Mohana said the taxi driver was asked to retrieve her DAP membership card.

There were some 100 people like Shantini in attendance but they could not be interviewed. Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan was also there and even presented BN T-shirts.

The media, who were earlier told that the "former" DAP members wanted to join BN, were later informed that there would be no switching of camps.

On the contrary, these individuals would be considered "BN friendly".

At a press conference later, Changkat Jong assemblyperson Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin said the event was to welcome their support for BN.

Not BN culture to cut cards

When photographers asked the so-called DAP members to cut their membership cards as a symbolic gesture of leaving the party, Umno's Ahmad intervened.

Ahmad said it was not BN's culture to do such things.

Some of the participants, sporting BN T-shirts and caps, had to wait for two hours in the dark, due to the lack of proper lighting, in order to receive a 1Malaysia box each after the event.

Journalists who tried to interview the participants as to the contents in the box, were prevented from doing so by Arjami who described the journalists as "busybodies".

Before leaving, members of the media asked the organisers to bring one more participant to be interviewed and they brought in a 60-year-old woman.

However, Arjami again stepped in to prevent the interview from taking place.- mk

Ahmad Maslan stupid to say our members defected to Barisan, says DAP

Sultan of Perak, Raja Azlan Shah, passed away today at the age of 86.

Sultan of Perak, Raja Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, passed away today at the age of 86.

In making the announcement, Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir said the ruler died at 1.30pm at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur.

His remains will be taken to the palace in Kuala Kangsar tomorrow morning and buried at the royal mausoleum there after Asar (mid-afternoon) prayers.

Tomorrow will be a public holiday in Perak as the state will be in mourning.

No entertainment or celebrations will be allowed in the state for seven days until June 4.

The Malaysian flag will also fly at half mast until June 4, while the Perak flag will fly half mast for 100 days starting today.

"May Allah bless his soul," Zambry said.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is in Beijing to celebrate of 40 years Malaysia-China diplomacy, will board a flight home tonight.

BN Senator Sim Kui Hian, who is with Najib in China, said that the PM is expected to arrive in Malaysia tomorrow.

A lawyer, judge and sportsman


Azlan Shah was sultan of Perak for 30 years and reigned as Yang di-Pertuan Agong from 1989 to 1994.

He is survived by his consort Tuanku Bainun Mohd Ali, a prince and three princesses. Another prince, Raja Ashman Shah died on March 30, 2012.

His son Raja Nazrin Shah is the Raja Muda (crown prince) of Perak.

Before becoming the sultan of Perak, Raja Azlan, a lawyer, served as a judge and Lord President of the Federal Court.

In 2009, the late sultan (right) played a key role in the Perak constitutional crisis when he declined then menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin's request to dissolve the state assembly, following defections.

Instead, he directed Nizar to resign as Nizar had lost confidence of the House.

BN, with support from three defected Pakatan Rakyat assemblypersons, formed a new government thereby toppling the elected Pakatan government.

The matter was later taken to court with a five-member bench at the Federal Court declaring in 2010 that BN's Zambry was the rightful menteri besar.

The court found that the Perak Constitution gives absolute discretionary powers to the sultan to withhold consent to dissolve the state assembly.

Raja Azlan also made significant contributions to the sport of hockey, and was president of the Asian Hockey Federation and executive board member of the International Hockey Federation.

The Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament is hosted annually in the Perak capital of Ipoh.- mk

Sebelum ini pulau pinang diperintah oleh sekutu umno iaitu parti gerakan. Prestasi kewangan negeri teruk akibat amalan korupsi pemimpin umno-bn. 

Sejak tahun 2008, pulau pinang diperintah oleh DAP rakan PAS & PKR. Prestasi kewangan negara kukuh. Pinjaman tanpa faedah untuk rakyat negeri itu memiliki kediaman sendiri.

Peruntukan untuk hal ehwal agama islam juga meningkat dari masa ke semasa. Pemimpin yang adil akan memberi banyak manfaat untuk rakyat berbilang agama dinegara ini.

Kerajaan umno menuduh DAP mengguanakan system komunis. Bagaimana system komunis? Jika begini system komunis yang dikatakan oleh umno, maka lebih baik system ini daripada ketuanan umno yang menipu dan menindas rakyat!

System umno untuk kayakan kroni dan taukeh besar. System pertadbiran dibawah pakatan rakyat untuk meringankan beban rakyat.

Tindakan Cadburry itu bukan saja biadap, tidak sensitif terhadap Islam yang menjadi agama rasmi dan orang Melayu yang menjadi majoriti, tetapi seolah-olah syarikat itu sedang "membabikan" umat Islam negara ini.

Sehingga ini belum tedengar suara Pemuda UMNO dalam isu coklat Cadburry dan kelemahan Jakim yang mengawal sijil halal di negara ini.

Ini nyata berbeza dengan sikap yang ditunjukkan oleh Pemuda UMNO ketika seorang wakil rakyat DAP, R.S.N. Rayer yang mengungkapkan perkataan "UMNO celaka" di dalam DUN Pulau Pinang. Pemuda UMNO bukan saja bising di merata-rata serta merosakkan papan tanda, bahkan menyerang beberapa pejabat DAP sambil melontarkan ugutan mahu membakar bangunan itu.

Sehingga ini pun, masih ada Pemuda UMNO yang seperti "ketinggalan bas" dengan masih mahu meminta Rayer meminta maaf dan menarik balik ucapannya sedangkan ADUN Seri Delima itu jelas tidak mahu menarik balik perkataan "UMNO celaka" yang pernah diucapkannya, malahan ketika kempen di Bukit Gelugor tiga hari lalu turut mengulangi perkataan "UMNO celaka" itu dalam ceramahnya dan di luar sidang DUN Pulau Pinang.

Jika dulu ada yang mendesak agar Rayer mengulangi apa yang dikatakannya di luar DUN supaya tindakan saman kononnya boleh diambil, setelah beliau mengulanginya di luar Dewan, mana tindakan itu sekarang?

Pemuda UMNO nampaknya hanya berani menjerit-jerit, menjulang sepanduk, mengugut mahu membakar bangunan dan mengoyak memorandum yang dibuat sendiri, tetapi tidak lebih daripada itu.

Bukan tidak boleh Pemuda UMNO bersuara dalam isu "UMNO celaka" tetapi mereka juga seperti "celaka" apabila tidak berani bersuara dan diam membisu ketika umat Islam "dibabikan" oleh Cadburry.

Jika dibandingkan dengan isu "UMNO celaka", isu pencemaran DNA babi dalam coklat sepatutnya lebih membuatkan Pemuda UMNO sensitif dan berindak lebih berani lagi. Ini kerana Cadburry jelas ingin "membabikan" umat Islam negara ini kerana mereka bukannya tidak tahu babi itu haram kepada umat Islam. Mereka juga sudah lama beroperasi di negara ini dan tiada alasan untuk berhelah mengenai babi kepada orang Islam.

Secara logiknya, mereka seolah-olah sengaja berbuat demikian. Lebih malang lagi, ujian Kementerian Kesihatan yang dilakukan pada Februari lalu itu hanya diambil tindakan oleh syarikat terbabit dan juga Jakim sejak semalam, itu pun setelah hasil ujian dua jenis coklat itu terdedah di laman-laman sosial.

Agaknya kalau tidak terdedah di laman sosial hasil ujian itu, sampai sekarang Jakim masih tidur dengan kopiah putih atau songkok berkilat sambil berbangga dengan keislaman mereka yang kononnya lebih tinggi daripada orang lain, manakala Cadburry pula masih bebas menjual coklat tersebut.

Baru sekaranglah juga Jakim mahu mengadakan mesyuarat tergempar dan memanggil wakil syarikat tersebut untuk meminta penjelasan. Baru sekaranglah juga logo halalnya ditarik balik. Apa yang mereka buat daripada Februari ketika ujian sudah mengesahkan ada DNA babi dalam coklat itu pada 27 Februari lalu hingga semalam itu? Dalam tempoh itu, sudah berapa banyak coklat yang ada DNA babi itu telah ditelan oleh anak-anak kita dan juga umat Islam seluruhnya?

Dalam hal ini, bukan saja Cadburry yang salah dan cuai, Jakim pun seperti turut sama merelakan umat Islam negara ini "dibabikan" sama. Apa pula kerja menteri yang bertanggungjawab terhadap Jakim selama ini dan apakah Jamil Khir Baharom tidak patut dipertanggungjawabkan sama?

Kenapa tiada demonstrasi dan sepanduk? Kenapa tiada memorandum? Kenapa tidak diugut mahu dibakar kilang Cadburry jika sekali lagi mengulangi tindakan mencemarkan coklat dengan DNA babi? Kenapa tiada tunjuk perasaan di depan pejabat Jakim? Apakah Pemuda UMNO merelakan begitu saja kelalaian Jakim yang bertanggungjawab menjaga halal dan haram makanan umat Islam?

Sebenarnya begitu banyak yang boleh dipersoalkan mengenai sikap dan pendirian Pemuda UMNO dalam isu coklat dan DNA babi ini. Sementara semakin banyak seruan agar diboikot semua keluaran Cadburry atas sikap biadap mereka itu dan semakin ramai juga pengguna yang mahu mengambil tindakan undang-undang terhadap pengeluar coklat itu, sikap senyap dan bisu Pemuda UMNO lebih menyerlahkan wajah sebenar mereka.

Jika sekarang dan setelah bertahun-tahun memiliki sijil halal tapi masih juga boleh mencemarkan coklat dengan DNA babi, tiada jaminan ia tidak berulang di masa depan. Dalam masa yang sama, tempat memasak coklat juga mungkin sudah tidak suci lagi dan ini amat mewajarkan Pemuda UMNO untuk bertindak lebih keras lagi.

Kalau kali ini mereka merosakkan papan tanda di kilang Cadburry dan mengugut mahu membakar kilangnya, pasti tiada yang bersikap sinis lagi. Malah pujian dan jambangan bunga wajar diberikan sebagai hadiah.

Amat jelas bahawa sikap ini membuatkan Pemuda UMNO mengecilkan skop perjuangan mereka sendiri kerana isu DNA babi dalam coklat sebenarnya meresahkan kira-kira 17 juta umat Islam negara ini berbanding ungkapan "UMNO celaka" hanyalah untuk menjaga kepentingan 3.2 juta ahli UMNO saja.


Atau dalam erti kata lain, Pemuda UMNO hanyalah tersentuh apabila "dicelakakan" tapi tidak kisah pun apabila "dibabikan" sedangkan semua orang yang belum gila sedar bahawa penghinaan memasukkan najis babi ke dalam tubuh umat Islam jauh lebih mengaibkan daripada hanya diserang dengan ungkapan celaka itu.. SH.

Home minister using Hitler's logic...

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today described Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's declaration that Chinese voters who choose DAP are “ingrates” as the same logic Adolf Hitler used to justify his actions against the Jews.

Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, said it was wrong of Zahid to stereotype a community as wealthy when there were also poor Chinese.

“How can the Chinese be abandoning the Malays and the Indians by voting for the DAP? I do not know what logic Zahid is applying, except to say that this is the same logic used by Hitler to justify his pogroms against the Jews.

“In a democracy, every citizen has a right to freely choose, without fear or favour, without being subjected to threats or tempted by money and gifts. What is the point of holding democratic elections if a voter can be branded as ungrateful for exercising his freedom of choice?” Lim asked.

Such inflammatory remarks by Zahid, Lim said, were clearly intended to create racial hatred and strike fear into the hearts of the Teluk Intan Chinese community and to force them to vote for BN.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, the DAP secretary-general added, should prove his consistency by immediately disavowing Zahid's racist remark.

Yesterday, Zahid said Chinese voters, especially those with successful businesses, who choose DAP are "ingrates" as they are abandoning Malays and Indians who contributed to their wealth.

"I will be sad if the people of Teluk Intan choose DAP again. The Malays will be sad, and Indians even sadder. It is fine for the Chinese as they are traders, but what will happen if the Malays and Indians do not support the Chinese traders by not buying their goods? They can't survive either,” the home minister said.

Lim also criticised the Election Commission (EC) for not condemning incidents of vote-buying, as had been reported, even though the EC has no enforcement power.

“EC's inaction has resulted in BN leaders behaving like feudal overlords spreading largesse only during by-elections. The EC’s role as an apologist for the BN only reinforces Pakatan Rakyat's demands that the EC members resign because of their utter failure to uphold the law without fear or favour,” he added.- mk

Menteri guna logik seperti Hitler

Teluk Intan and the divine right of rulers...

In ancient days, kings claimed that they had a divine right to rule, and that they were accountable only to God. They thought that they and the country were one and the same, and that everything and everyone belonged to them.

They could confiscate your lands and wealth, or they could give you property and riches. They could lock you up in the Tower, or make your dreams come true. It was all up to them. King Louis XIV, who ruled France for 72 years, famously said, "L'etat, c'est moi" - I am the country.

And so it is with Umno. Because it has ruled Malaysia continuously since independence in 1957, Umno has come to believe that it, the government, and the nation are all one and the same.

Because it is the self-proclaimed defender of the Malay race - a people whom Umno says are still constantly under threat despite 57 years of protecting their interests - Umno thinks that all Malays should support it.

If a Malay does not, then they risk being denied business and educational opportunities, tried for sedition, or even branded as a "traitor," as Umno Wanita leader Shahrizat Abdul Jalil brazenly suggested DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud (right) was one last week.

Foreigners who criticise the authoritarian ways of the Malaysian government, such as myself, are labeled "anti-Malaysia." Some, like Australian senator Nick Xenophon, are denied entry; others, as I discovered during my recent visit to Malaysia, just two weeks after United States President Barack Obama came, are on a "watch list."

Because Umno has been in control of the government for nearly six decades - reportedly longer than any other political party in the world - it probably is understandable that they have come to think that party and government are one and the same, and that what belongs to the government also belongs to the party.

But in a parliamentary system, the political party or coalition that won a majority of votes is asked to "form" the government. They do not "become" the government. The word "form" has a special definition in this regard: it means "to compose" or "to serve as" the government.

There is a clear recognition, which is lost on most Umno politicians, that the party is only "the government of the day." The party does not "own" the government, its personnel, or its resources.

Abuses of gov’t resources

The election campaign in Teluk Intan has provided a number of examples of Umno's confused mind, and how it misuses government resources for the ruling coalition's political benefit. It is a case study in how Malaysia's electoral system is tilted against opposition candidates.

Here are just a few examples that I have found in the past few days; I am sure Malaysiakini's readers will find more in the days ahead.

• Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan used a school for a political gathering and said, "I do not see why I cannot hold a ceramah here. I am a BN deputy minister. This is a government school."
   
• Home Affairs Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi campaigned before an official gathering of government paramilitary members, Rela, and turned it into a political party rally. He said, "I promise that if (the BN candidate) Mah (Siew Keong) wins, I shall immediately buy you new uniforms."
   
• Zahid also said Teluk Intan would get a constituency allocation from the government of RM1 million, but only if the voters elected Mah. He bluntly informed them, "I don't have to tell you how much you stand to lose if you choose others."
   
• In that same Rela gathering, Zahid said chillingly, "In the 13th general election, 2,019 Rela members did not vote. I checked one by one, and I know who did not go out to vote. We must make sure they vote this time around."
   
• Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said his ministry is prepared to improve broadband facilities in Teluk Intan, but only if it is represented by a BN representative.
   
• Bernama, the government-owned wire service, had an article that sought to label Dyana as an outsider to Teluk Intan. Far from balanced, it had five quotes calling her a carpetbagger, one neutral quote, and no one speaking in her defence.

Separation of party and state

Malaysia is a member of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), an organisation of 164 parliaments around the world. In 1994, the IPU adopted a Declaration on Criteria for Free and Fair Elections.

Among other points, it said that its member states, such as Malaysia, should "ensure the separation of party and state." This, of course, is something that Umno and the Malaysian government have failed to do for years.

All this brings us back to the encounter between Shahrizat and Dyana the other day.

Shahrizat (right, sitting) believed that Dyana, as a Malay and a graduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM), is obligated to support Umno. If not, then she is a "traitor."

Dyana brilliantly countered, saying that not all Malays support Umno. Going to UiTM does not require you to support Umno; UiTM is funded by taxpayers of all races and not just those who voted for Umno.

Shahrizat, rejected by the voters in 2008 and surrounded by the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal, still holds a prominent position in Umno as head of Wanita. She reminds me of everything that is wrong with today's "Umno culture," with its focus on greed and self-interest that holds Malaysia back from reaching its true potential.

But young people like Dyana give me hope for the future. She has shown me and so many others that there are many young Malaysians - Chinese and Indians and Malays - who truly believe in the Malaysian dream and want only the best for all of the country's people, regardless of race or religion.- John Mallot,MKini

Zahid kata Cina tak kenang budi,Sharizat kata perkauman UMNO tak main le...

Zahid: Peniaga Cina tak kenang budi, betul tak(Chinese who vote DAP 'ingrates')...

Naib Presiden Umno hari ini menyuarakan perasaan kesalnya terhadap masyarakat Cina, terutamanya yang terlibat dalam perniagaan, memilih DAP dalam pilihan raya apabila sudah berjaya.

“Kalau sekali lagi orang Teluk Intan memilih DAP, saya sedih. Orang Melayu sedih, orang India lagi sedih, Cina tak apalah, dia berniaga macam-macam.

“Tetapi kalau tak ada org Melayu dan orang India tolong, beli barang dia, dia pun tak boleh berniaga. Betul tak ? Orang Melayu dan India tolong peniaga-peniaga Cina, betul tak?

“Dia dah senang, dia pun pilih DAP. Tak kenang budi, betul tak ?” soalnya sambil disambut laungan “betul” oleh hadirin.

Zahid berkata demikian dalam perjumpaan dengan ketua-ketua masyarakat di Kampung Durian Sebatang in Teluk Intan.

Beliau juga menyeru semua pihak, tidak kira Melayu, Cina dan India, memajukan daerah hilir Perak itu dengan memilih calon BN supaya semua kaum tiada masalah.

“Betul saya Melayu, tetapi (tidak kira) Melayu, Cini, India, kita berada dalam keluarga besar, satu Malaysia,” katanya lagi.

Chinese voters, especially those with successful businesses, who choose DAP are "ingrates", said Umno vice president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to the Home Minister, this is because they are abandoning Malays and Indians who contributed to their wealth.

"I will be sad if the people of Teluk Intan choose DAP again. The Malays will be sad, and Indians even sadder.

"It is fine for the Chinese as they are traders, but what will happen if the Malays and Indians do not support the Chinese traders by not buying their goods. They can't survive either.

"So the Malays and Indians support the Chinese traders... They become successful, and vote for DAP. They are ingrates, right?" he said, posing a rhetorical question to the audience.

The audience, made up of community leaders at Kampung Durian Sebatang in Teluk Intan, answered in the affirmative.

Ahmad Zahid (above) said that by voting for the DAP, these wealthy Chinese traders are turning their backs on Malays and Indians who now need help .

He did not elaborate on how the Chinese voting for the DAP would mean that Malays and Indians would not get the help they need.

However, he said that under BN co-operation model, all races work together to develop the region to benefit all.

"Today Malays, Indian and Chinese unite and develop the northern Perak region by choosing BN candidate Mah Siew Keong...

"Yes, I am Malay but Malays, Chinese and Indians are all part of a big family, 1Malaysia," he said.- mk

Shahrizat: BN tak minat politik perkauman(Shahrizat: BN doesn't play racial politics)...

Pengerusi Wanita BN Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil berkata, BN tidak berminat dengan politik kotor termasuk politik berunsur perkauman sebaliknya memberi tumpuan kepada kempen membantu rakyat.

Katanya, kempen sebegitu tidak akan ke mana dan apa yang penting segala yang diungkapkan perlu disusuli dengan tindakan demi mengutamakan kepentingan masyarakat setempat, lapor Umno Online.

“Apa yang kita cakap kita buat, kita tidak banyak main politik khususnya yang berunsur perkauman dan lain-lain atau macam-macam taktik. Kita tidak minat.

“Kita ikhlas untuk bantu rakyat dan ingin melihat negara stabil. Kita tidak main politik kotor dengan pergi dekat kaum Melayu cakap begini, kaum India cakap begitu, Cina pula begini dan lain-lain lagi.

“Politik apa macam itu? Saya tidak setuju dengan politik sebegitu,” beliau dipetik sebagai berkata di Teluk Intan hari ini.

Shahrizat juga dilapor mengingatkan mana-mana pihak agar tidak menuding jari kepada BN apabila timbul sesuatu isu sepanjang kempen pilihan raya kecil kawasan itu.

“Janganlah semua nak tuding dan salahkan Umno. Kena ingat, kadangkala musuh dalam selimut lagi bahaya daripada musuh lain.

“Jadi janganlah nak selalu sangat kata Umno buat. Kita tidak minat pun,” beliau dipetik sebagai berkata oleh media Umno itu.

It appears that Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi have contradicting views on BN's campaign tactics for the Teluk Intan by-election.

While the Wanita BN chief claimed that BN does not exploit racial politics, the home minister, however, described the Chinese who vote for DAP as ingrates.

"We don't play dirty politics whereby we go to the Malays and say this, go to the Indians and say that; and tell the Chinese something else.

"What kind of politics is this? I don't agree with this kind of politics," Shahrizat was quoted as saying by Umno Online today.

On the other hand, Zahid, when speaking at a Malay village in Teluk Intan this evening, said that the Chinese earned their wealth with the help of Malays and Indians.

"So the Malays and Indians support the Chinese traders... They become successful and vote for DAP. They are ingrates, right?" he had asked the villagers of Kampung Durian Sebatang.

However, Sharizat, who is also Wanita Umno chief, claimed that BN is more interested in running a sincere campaign, which focuses on helping the people.

"The Wanita machinery is going well and our campaign is sincere. What we say, we do. And we don't play politics of race or other sort of (dirty) tactics. We are not interested," she added.

Stating that racial politics would not go far, Shahrizat said the Wanita wings are sincere in wanting to help the people and see this nation remain stable.

Meanwhile, the Wanita Umno chief also reminded all quarters not to point fingers at Umno whenever an issue crops up during the by-election campaign.

"Don't point fingers and blame Umno. We have to remember, sometimes the enemy within is greater than the enemy outside," he added.- mk

Beliau cuba melandaskan dakwaan itu dengan membangkitkan mengenai sokongan oleh golongan tersebut ke atas pemain badminton tertentu.

"(Pemain negara, Datuk Lee) Chong Wei lawan (pemain China) Lin Dan adalah contoh naif untuk menzahirkan rasa cinta kepada Malaysia.

"Kedua-dua adalah Cina. Tentu kita menyokong Cina Malaysia daripada Cina China.

"Katakan, Chong Wei lawan (bekas pemain negara, Datuk) Misbun (Sidek) atau Lin Dan lawan (pemain Indonesia) Taufik Hidayat, ketika itu siapakah yang akan disokong?

"Justeru tidak perlulah berpura-pura mahu menunjukkan cintakan Malaysia tetapi mengundi ultra kiasu," katanya.

Mualaf itu berkata demikian bagi menjawab satu tulisan dalam satu akhbar berbahasa Inggering yang menurutnya menuduh beliau mengalami krisis identiti kerana sering mempertahankan golongan Melayu.

Ridhuan menjelaskan, pendiriannya sebelum ini dibuat kerana mempertahankan Islam.

"Sama ada setuju atau tidak, Islam sedang diancam, menjadi tanggungjawab kita untuk membelanya.

"Saya pernah jadi bukan Islam, saya tahu perancangan busuk segelintir mereka, walaupun mungkin sahabat seislam saya tidak bersetuju," katanya.

Chong Wei vs Misbun, who will they support...

Firebrand Ridhuan Tee Abdullah has served another salvo at Chinese Malaysians, this time using a badminton analogy.

According to him, using a singles bout between Lee Chong Wei and China's Lin Dan is a poor example to show how much Chinese Malaysians love this country.

"Both (players) are Chinese. Of course, we will support the Chinese Malaysian over the Chinese from China," said the academic in his column in Sinar Harian today.

The real test, according to Ridhuan, would be a match between Lee and Misbun Sidek or Lin Dan versus Misbun, or Lin Dan versus Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat.

"Who would they (Chinese Malaysians) support?" asked the academic, who teaches ethnic relations at the Malaysian Defence University.

"So there is no need to pretend in showing love for this nation, when they (Chinese Malaysians) vote the 'ultra kiasu' party," he added in reference to DAP.

Ridhuan, a Chinese Muslim convert, also responded to an article in an English daily that accused him of suffering from an identity crisis because he constantly defends the Malays.

Denying that he has an identity crisis, the academic said he was defending Islam.

"Whether you agree or not, Islam is under threat, and it is our responsibility to defend it.

"I was once a non-Muslim, and I know of the foul plan by a group of them.

"Even if some of my Muslim friends disagree with this, I respect the differences in opinion," he added.- mk

Seorang ibu tunggal di Teluk Intan mendakwa Ketua Wanita Umno Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil melawatnya pagi tadi dan memberikan bantuan berupa wang tunai dan barangan keperluan sambil merayu sokongan terhadap BN.

“Saya diberi RM500 dan pampers (lampin), untuk kegunaan anak perempuan saya,” katanya kepada Malaysiakini, sambil berterima kasih terhadap Shahrizat dan BN atas hadiah itu.

Penganggur 57 tahun itu berkata, Shahrizat memintanya mengundi calon BN Mah Siew Keong.

P Panjalay menetap di Taman Semarak dan menjaga tiga anak perempuannya yang berumur antara 33 hingga 36 tahun yang mempunyai masalah mental.

Shahrizat meluangkan masa kira-kira 20 minit di rumahnya pagi ini.

Panjalay berkata, Shahrizat menyerahkan wang kepadanya tetapi beliau tidak pasti sama ada ia datang daripada Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat atau Umno.

Tanpa mengambil kira sumbangan ini, beliau bagaimanapun berkata sentiasa menjadi penyokong BN.

A single mother in Teluk Intan claims Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil visited her house this morning with cash and supplies, canvassing support for BN.

"I was given RM500 and Pampers (disposable diapers), for my daughters' usage," she told Malaysiakini, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to Shahrizat and BN for the gift.

The unemployed 57-year-old said Shahrizat urged her to vote for BN candidate Mah Siew Keong.

P Panjalay (right) lives in Taman Semarak and cares for her three mentally-disabled daughters aged 33 to 36.

Shahrizat paid her house a 20-minute visit this morning.

The widow said Shahrizat handed her the cash, but she was unsure if the money came from the Welfare Department or Umno.

Shahrizat, who is also the special adviser to the prime minister on welfare and women affairs, had scheduled to visit two families in Teluk Intan.

Apart from Panjalay, she also visited a family at Jalan Mat Intan that has just lost an elderly family member, and later attended a religious function at Taman Intan.

Regardless, she said regardless of the handouts, she has always been a BN supporter.

"I will support BN anyway. I have never voted for the opposition. I will bring my second daughter to vote too. Both of us will vote for BN," Panjalay said.- mk

Disebalik kejayaan pasukan Jepun merangkul kejuaraan Piala Thomas semalam, ramai yang tidak mengetahui tentang salah seorang jurulatih pasukan negara matahari terbit itu adalah anak Malaysia.

Nama Izuan Ibrahim(gambar di atas), tidak sepopular nama besar lain dalam arena sukan badminton, namun sentuhan beliau antara penyumbang kepada kejayaan Jepun semalam.
Anak kelahiran Kelantan ini adalah jurulatih kepada pemain persorangan Jepun, Kento Momota yang menewaskan pemain negara Chong Wei Feng dengan straight set 21-15, 21-17.

Bekas guru ini sekarang berkhidmat sebagai jurulatih junior pasukan kebangsaan Jepun di bawah Nihong Badminton Association dan jurulatih di R.S. Hamanaka.

Kejayaan Jepun buat kali pertama semalam sekaligus menaikkan nama Izuan yang lebih mesra dengan panggilan Abe Awe di kalangan rakan-rakan beliau di Kelantan.

Laman Facebook beliau turut dihujani ucapan tahniah daripada kawan-kawan yang mengenali anak Melayu ini.

Japan, The New Thomas Cup Champion. How Long Malaysia Has To Wait...

Japan finally wins their first ever Thomas Cup, after 12 appearances in the prestigious badminton competition, ever since the cup was introduced by Sir George Alan Thomas in 1949. Japan becomes the fourth nation to win Thomas Cup, of which Malaysia, Indonesia and China were the only countries that dominated the sport since 1949. It was the sweetest win for Japan indeed.

If Malaysia were to win the cup last night, I can bet my last penny that PM Najib would declare today as a public holiday, judging by how the premier (and his “lovely wife”) love to be in the spotlight. Too bad Malaysia couldn’t do any better since 1992 when they lifted the cup after a 25-year wait (the last time the country won was in 1967).

Perhaps Malaysia is cursed by the number 25 and can only win after 25 years, meaning the next chance will be in 2018, a 26 years of wait. But many would curse Auntie Rosy as a jinx. And as long as Auntie Rosy is around, the curse will be on the country’s badminton team. Maybe they should try to persuade Auntie Rosy to hug each and every player, before any major tournament (*grin*).

While the bad news was that I couldn’t enjoy an extra holiday today (*sigh*), I won a free breakfast this morning, for betting against Malaysia team. There were four reasons why my bet went to Japan. First, their head coach was Park Joo-bong. 

Second, the game was held in India. Third, Malaysian badminton players were never consistent. Fourth, Malaysian sports were heavily influenced by politics.

There’re two badminton players who I admire the most – Morten Frost and Park Joo-bong. Morten Frost, former Denmark single player, was easily the most consistent and cool badminton champion ever. He couldn’t be intimidated under any pressures and played beautiful stroke games till you lose your rhythm. Park Joo-bong was easily the best men’s double players not only in South Korea but also the world.

The fact that Japan, under coach Park Joo-bong, managed to beat China 3-0 should have sent signal to Malaysian team that they’re facing a team stronger than Great Wall of China. And if Japan can beat a five consecutive Thomas Cup champion China (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012) during the semifinals, the writing was already on the wall – Japan is at their strongest level never seen before.

Since 1967 when Malaysia won their Thomas Cup, the badminton team was not the same again. It could be that the effect of 1969 racial riots had slowly spread its tentacles into the country’s sports. Somehow the nation’s badminton team couldn’t find its past glory of self-confidence and fight-for-country thingy, just like how they did it in 1949, 1952, 1955 (later 1967).

If there’s a chance of winning the Thomas Cup, the venue has to be in the country, not anywhere else. Somehow, Malaysian badminton players depend heavily on local supporters, as if their cheers act like steroid to them. And because this game was in India, the steroids couldn’t do the magic. During 1992 Thomas Cup which was held in Malaysia, local supporters were literally at “all hell breaks loose” level in the stadium.

Like it or not, Malaysian badminton players were never consistent when play at a team level such as the Thomas Cup. Sure, for individual championship, you can rely on Lee Chong Wei alone. But they’re as unpredictable as lottery game when come to team championship. In 1992 Thomas Cup, when you expected Razif-Jalani Sidek doubles to deliver easily, they went down tamely.

But when you thought all was lost, underdog player Foo Kok Keong delivered the crucial point. As if injected by cocaine, double players Cheah Soon Kit and Soo Beng Kiang went on to whack Ricky Subagja and Rexy Mainaky. And the rest was history. Soon these heroes became instant millionaires with free cash, houses, lands and whatnot. In short, Malaysian players were never consistent.

This was proven again last night, when Daren Liew made too many mistakes, obviously under pressures. Takuma Ueda didn’t do anything spectacular. It was Daren who delivered free points to Takuma. Of course Kento Momota was the real hero who indirectly send huge pressures into Malaysian team. You may not like this but Lee Chong Wei glaringly outshone the rest of the players, and that was not a good thing especially for a tournament such as Thomas Cup.

During the 1980s,1990s, 2000s, players play for money. No money no talk. It was a period where medals were measured with monetary rewards. Ministers who know nuts about badminton (and even other sports for that matter) would declare top dollars for certain amount of medals or championships. It was a trading market where free flows of money were used to “force” sportsmen and sportswomen to perform.

If that was not enough to send sports down the toilet bowl, politicians and cronies were appointed to the chairmanship, directorship, spaceship (*grin*) in practically all associations, never mind these idiots can’t even spell “badminton” correctly. They blew their own trumpets by offering “expertise” which further confused the already tumbling quality in sports, not to mention elbowing coaches who didn’t want to play ball.

Amusingly, despite millions of dollars spent, there was no Uber Cup, let alone Thomas Cup. What you have were TV presenters holding Thomas Cup replica screaming, hoping and praying for miracles. To be fair, badminton is perhaps the only sport least tainted by politicians’ influence, as compared to soccer. The opportunity to lift the Thomas Cup still exist, but only by doing the right things.

Sports should be separated from politics. Period. Let the best brains and meritocracy prevails in sports. Yesterday was the only peaceful day where all Malaysians, regardless of race and religion, cheers for Malaysian badminton team. So, perhaps PM Najib should lecture his out-sourced racist agencies that “trespasser” Chinese communities do contribute to the country after all.
