Heboh pasal "Lembaga Wanita" Dalam Kereta dekat Kulim...

“Cepat, baca surah Yasin!, ada benda sebelah aku ni,” jerit seorang rakan yang berada dalam kereta Perodua Kancil Sinar Harian cemas apabila merasakan ada lembaga wanita duduk di sebelahnya di bahagian tempat duduk kerusi belakang.

Kejadian itu berlaku Khamis lalu apabila wartawan Sinar Harian bersama seorang anggota polis berpangkat koperal dan seorang rakan melalui jalan Bukit Lengkok kira-kira jam 4 pagi, Khamis lalu.



Ketika melalui di satu selekoh dalam keadaan hujan lebat, semua mereka ternampak batu nisan setinggi setengah meter di tepi jalan tetapi masing-masing hanya diam dan tidak mengendahkannya.

Keadaan mula cemas apabila rakan mereka itu menjerit meminta membaca surah Yasin dengan segera.

Bagaimanapun, anggota polis cuba menenangkannya dan membaca beberapa potong ayat al-Quran barulah rakannya itu tenang dan perjalanan pun diteruskan.

Setelah melepasi jalan Sungai Lengkok mereka kemudiannya berhenti di tepi Jalan Air Merah dan mula membuka cerita mengenai batu nisan tadi. Ternyata, mereka semua mengaku ternampak imej batu nisan yang dimaksudkan.

Bagaimanapun misteri terbabit tidak berhenti di situ saja apabila kelmarin kira-kira jam 12.30 pagi, seorang rakan wartawan terbabit telah merakam gambar kereta Kancil berkenaan dan mendapati ada imej lembaga wanita berambut panjang di dalamnya dan dipercayai lembaga itu hilang selepas azan Subuh berkumandang.



Sementara itu. seorang pemandu van kilang yang tinggal di Taman Selasih dan tidak mahu dikenali berkata, kejadian seumpama itu sering berlaku di Jalan Bukit Lengkok.

Menurutnya, beberapa tahun lalu polis ada menemui mayat seorang wanita dipercayai dibunuh dan mayatnya dibuang ke dalam gaung berhampiran.

“Ramai pengguna jalan itu menjadi mangsa gangguan lembaga berkenaan. Lembaga itu pernah duduk di belakang penunggang motosikal, saya juga pernah nampak lembaga itu berada di atas bumbung kereta yang datang dari arah bertentangan.

“Sememangnya jalan itu tidak dilalui oleh kenderaan pada lewat pagi terutama ketika hujan renyai atau lebat,” katanya.


Pengerusi Pertubuhan Prihatin Kebaktian Masyarakat Kulim (PPKM) Khor Eng Khim juga tidak menafikan kewujudan lembaga itu yang sering mengganggu pengguna jalan raya yang melalui jalan Bukit Lengkok menjelang lewat pagi.

“Jalan itu tidak sesuai digunakan pada waktu Subuh terutama ketika hujan. Ini kerana terlalu banyak kejadian kemalangan berlaku di sekitar kawasan itu disebabkan keadaan jalan di situ sempit dan bengkang-bengkok.

"Saya menasihatkan pengguna supaya menggunakan lebuh raya Butterworth Kulim Express (BKE) untuk pergi ke Pekan Kulim dan jangan mengunakan jalan Bukit Lengkok sebagai jalan pintas walaupun ia lebih dekat,” katanya.- sinar harian

Orang ramai pi tengok betina ini meroyan kat Lembah Pantai.Depa kata betina ni cun.Baru2 ini jumpa member yang hadir dalam ceramah betina tu, katanya, aku bila nampak saja betina ni tiba2 'tamby kecik'ku tersentot... Entah pasai apa?

Depa kata betina ni sikit punya garang, hinggakan, batu2 ataih jalan terpelanting kena pak cik seorang ni. Lepaih tu dah salahkan Anwar dan Anwarlah punca segala2nya...

Wan Ahmad has insulted voters...

The Election Commission’s (EC) dismissal of the Merdeka Centre’s survey finding - that 92 percent of Malaysians support a clean-up of the electoral roll before the next general election - has only proved the agency’s absence of independence, said the DAP.

In a statement today, DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua (left) ticked off EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar for dismissing the survey outcome as “trivial” and remarking that the respondents were essentially ignorant.

Pua said Wan Ahmad had further insulted the respondents by saying that “it would be better if Merdeka Centre had surveyed voters who had just cast their ballots, rather than asking rempits from the side of the road”, as reported by The Malaysian Insider.

“The sheer arrogance of the EC proves that it has not desire to implement free and fair elections in Malaysia and public opinion, no matter how negative, does not move them,” said Pua, also the Petaling Jaya Utara MP.

He said the comments have demonstrated that Wan Ahmad is in fact the ignoramus, and not the Malaysian public who participated in the survey.

“That is because he had made the scornful comments without first having read the actual survey.  And if he did, he obviously could not understand the survey or survey methodologies.”

Pua noted that Merdeka Centre has taken pains to select voters “through random stratified sampling method along the lines of ethnicity, gender, age and state” with a margin of error estimated at ±3.07 percent.

On Wan Ahmad's argument that the respondents were mostly first-time voters who do not know the law, Pua noted that only 22 percent of the sample is under the age of 30.

This means that the overwhelming majority of the sample respondents would have voted at least twice to date.

“The fact that the EC is refusing to even investigate the survey results, as to why only 44 percent of Malaysians believed that our electoral system is free of irregularities also emphasises the fact that the commission is only interested in ensuring an unequal election system and campaign platform to rob Malaysians of their rightful choice.

“It is clear that Malaysians have lost faith in the EC to carry out free and fair elections.  The EC chairperson and his deputy, who are also members of Umno, have become biggest impediments to the transformation of our electoral process.  

“It is also clear that they are in connivance with the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to ensure that whatever 'reforms' executed will not remove the ability of Umno and BN to win through cheating and fraud.”

Continued support for Bersih

He reiterated that DAP and Pakatan Rakyat component parties will continue to support the demands of electoral reform coalition Bersih toward clean and fair elections, as this has been justified by strong empirical evidence from the Merdeka Centre survey.

“We also call upon the EC chairperson and his deputy to resign for failing in their constitutional duties to ensure a clean, free and fair election system for Malaysians, and for acting as stooges of the BN government,” Pua added.

Wan Ahmad has repeatedly denied that he is an Umno member and has lodged a police report against  PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution who made the allegation.

Noh Omar - dah biol pasai isu lembu NFC, pasai ayaq lagi blur...

Rakyat perlu mengetahui kedudukan sebenar terutama usaha kerajaan negeri mengambilalih pengurusan air dari syarikat konsesi bagi mengelak kenaikan harga air yang keterlaluan dan perkhidmatan pembekalan air yang lebih berkualiti.

Menteri Besar Selangor Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim berkata, kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai isu air menyebabkan pemimpin Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) memutar-belitkan isu ini demi politik dan menyelamatkan syarikat konsesi yang dimiliki kroni Umno.

Sehubungan itu, beliau akan memberi penerangan lanjut mengenai isu bermula dari proses pengumpulan air mentah di empangan, disalurkan ke loji pembersihan sehinggalah disalurkan kepada pengguna di samping isu air tidak berhasil (NRW).

“Kita akan menerangkan secara terperinci langkah demi langkah untuk memberi kefahaman kepada rakyat dan pemimpin Umno-BN yang kita lihat kurang memahami isu sebenar.

“Kita juga akan tunjukkan perbandingan bagaimana negara lain menguruskan air secara profesional yang berlainan dengan negara ini yang lebih mengutamakan syarikat kroni,” katanya selepas merasmikan Sambutan Hari Guru anjuran Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) di Sabak Bernam, semalam.

Abdul Khalid berkata, penerangan lanjut ini akan dibuat oleh beliau selepas mesyuarat Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri (MMKN) pada Rabu ini.

Beliau juga akan menerangkan kelemahan pengurusan air oleh syarikat konsesi yang menyebabkan rakyat terpaksa menanggung beban itu.

Noh bukan pakar

Mengenai kritikan Datuk Seri Noh Omar mengenai isu air, Menteri Besar menegaskan beliau tidak memandang serius kerana Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani itu bukan pakar dalam industri air.

“Beliau tiada kepakaran malah mempunyai pengetahuan yang cetek mengenai isu air. Isu NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) pun beliau gagal selesai, inikan pula isu air.

Adalah lebih baik jika beliau menyelesaikan terlebih dahulu kontroversi NFC sebelum memberi komen isu air yang beliau tidak tahu pucuk pangkalnya,” kata Menteri Besar.

Abdul Khalid berkata, tanggung jawab untuk membersihkan air mentah adalah di bawah tugas syarikat konsesi iaitu Puncak Niaga manakala Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (Luas) bertanggungjawab memastikan air mentah di empangan mencukupi.

Beliau yakin rakyat menyokong penuh usaha kerajaan negeri menyusun semula perkhidmatan air dan tidak mudah terpengaruh dengan kenyataan Umno-BN yang dangkal dan tidak berpaksi pada data yang tepat dan benar tetapi lebih kepada perbohongan.-FMT

Air S’gor buat kroni Umno kenyang...

Kenyataan seorang pemimpin Umno Selangor bahawa jika Barisan Nasional (BN) berjaya menawan semula negeri itu maka masalah air akan diselesaikan adalah muslihatnya untuk memberi ’makan’ kepada kroni dan dirinya sendiri.

Setiausaha Politik kepada Menteri Besar Faekah Husin berkata, kenyataan ini merupakan amaran awal BN akan meneruskan projek pembinaan loji Langat 2.

Beliau merujuk kepada kenyataan Timbalan Pengerusi Perhubungan Umno Selangor dan juga Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani, Datuk Seri Noh Omar berhubung masalah bekalan air yang bakal dihadapi negeri itu menjelang tahun 2014.

“Rakyat akan tahu bahawa projek ini sebenarnya untuk kepentingan kroni dan Umno malah Noh sendiri, bukannya untuk kesenangan rakyat,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan media semalam.

Beliau menegaskan, “jika Noh gagal memahami isu ini, kita tidak hairan bagaimana kementerian beliau gagal menangani isu penyelewengan dana NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) yang memalukan seluruh menteri kabinet.

“Kita telah tegaskan masalah air di Selangor berpunca dari pengurusan yang lemah dan pengetahuan yang cetek.

Disebabkan kelemahan-kelemahan ini, rakyat terpaksa menanggung kos pembinaan Langat 2 yang sangat mahal.

‘Sedia payung sebelum hujan’

Jika ini berlaku katanya, tiada guna rakyat menyesal kerana nasi sudah menjadi bubur. Adalah lebih baik rakyat ‘menyediakan payung sebelum hujan’ dengan menolak Umno-BN yang jelas hanya berjuang untuk menambah kekayaan keluarga dan kroni.

“Kos RM12 bilion untuk membina Langat 2 mungkin ditanggung rakyat Selangor hingga ke cucu cicit dengan kenaikan tarif air yang melampau dan membebankan,” tegas beliau.

Faekah menempelak cabaran Noh menyarankan Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim supaya minum air empangan sebagai benar-benar kurang bijak yang hanya menggambarkan betapa ceteknya akal beliau.

“Air empangan hanya selamat diminum selepas dirawat di loji pembersihan. Di negara-negara maju, air paip selamat diminum terus dari paip tetapi di Selangor sebaliknya berlaku.

“Pengguna terpaksa mengeluarkan lagi perbelanjaan untuk membeli penapis air kerana air berkeladak dan berbau klorin.

Ujar beliau, “inilah hasilnya apabila pengurusan air diberikan kepada syarikat kroni yang tidak mengutamakan kualiti tetapi mengejar keuntungan semata-mata untuk menambah kekayaan kroni dan keluarga.

“Oleh sebab itu, kerajaan negeri akan membina loji pembersihan sendiri tanpa perlu menebuk Banjaran Tiiwangsa yang kosnya dianggarkan RM12 billion.-FMT

Noh Omar's dare does not hold water

Selangor Umno Liaison deputy chairperson Nor Omar's recent response daring the Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim to drink untreated water from dams has shown that he is shallow-minded, said Khalid's political secretary Faekah Husin(left).


Noh(right), the Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister, made the remark when responding to Khalid's invitation to federal ministers to inspect Selangor's water reserve level.


Commenting on the issue today, Faekah said Selangor government's core concerns were the continuation of the 20 cubic metres free water policy, a more effective water supply service and a low water tariff.

"Noh Omar appear to have no knowledge of what we are doing, his statements shows how foolish and shallow-minded he is. Dam water can only be consumed after being treated at the plant. In developed countries, it is safe to drink water directly from the tap but not in this state.

 "Users have to incur extra costs to buy water filters due to the murky water and chlorine smell.

"This is the result of the water management concession being granted to a crony company which does not prioritise water quality but profit, to enrich them and their families," she said.

Faekah added that due to the poor management, the rakyat might need to foot the bill for the exorbitant RM12 billion Langat 2 water treatment plan.

She said Noh's statement that should BN recapture Selangor, the water problems will be solved is an early warning that BN will approve the project if it comes to power.

"If this happens, the construction cost of RM12 billion may be borne by the people of Selangor and even by their descendants, not to mention the burden of excessive water tariffs," she said.- malaysiakini

Anwar - 'the elderly man who was injured in Lembah Pantai knocked his own head'...

Anwar Ibrahim today said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has indirectly condoned the series of violent acts against Pakatan Rakyat ceramahs by failling to condemn these actions.


“My car (when it was attacked in Sembrong in February), were there any statements to say stop this or we will not tolerate this sort of violence? No. This means that they are actually condoning it.
 
“Is this being tolerated by Umno? Yes. Which means Najib as prime minister has abdicated his responsibility,” he said when asked by Malaysiakini after a Pakatan programme to register red IC holders in Klang this afternoon.

Since then, a series of violent acts targeting Pakatan ceramahs have followed, namely Gambang (Pahang), Merlimau (Malacca) and most recently in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur where two Pakatan supporters and an Umno supporter were allegedly injured.

Asked to comment about Umno’s accusation that he had provoked the fracas in Lembah Pantai during a dual ceramah on Thursday, Anwar quipped: “When my car (windscreen) was broken, I broke it myself, it could be that the elderly man who was injured knocked his own head, too.”

Yesterday, Lembah Pantai Umno Youth chief Mohamad Sazali Kamilan accused Anwar of causing the fracas when he described Umno as sial (damned) and celaka (cursed) despite an observation by Malaysiakini that he had only made the remarks after spotting Raja Ismail Raja Din bleeding from his head after being hit by a projectile.

‘Bottles already flying when I arrived’

“When I entered the ceramah, bottles were already being thrown (from the other side), it was already flying when (Lembah Pantai MP) Nurul Izzah was speaking, you could hear the sound (of the bottles) landing on the roof (of the stage).

“So when I saw what had happened to the pakcik, of course I was angry, and a little girl was crying at the back after that after she was injured in her arm... I was very angry, celaka (cursed) politics,” said Anwar, who is also PKR supremo.

The situation was reportedly tense as the two rival ceramahs were set up within metres of each other.

Anwar added that the incident was regrettable because despite the heavy police presence that night they did not move in quickly to stop the throwing of projectiles when it first began.

“If they see 10 to 15 police officers, they would not dare do that. So what’s wrong? Why aren’t they being professional when it comes to Umno hooligans?,” he said.

‘Police should investigate violence’

Asked to comment on Umno’s claim that one of its supporters, too, was injured, Anwar called on the police to investigate.

“If Pakatan supporters hurt others, we will not defend... Police should investigate, I will not defend, it depends on the outcome of the police investigation,” he said.

He added that Pakatan had submitted a notice to the police for the ceramah to be held.

“Who gave the notice to the police? We gave. I was in Pengerang (on Friday) and it was the same thing, we got the permit and they allowed another session just 50 metres away without a permit,” he said.

Despite Anwar’s Friday trip in Johor being dogged by harassment, the PKR adviser insisted that the party will continue with the party’s political activities in the state.

“This is the culture that they are breeding. I am still committed. I will go to Johor again in the next fortnight,” he said.- malaysiakini

PM biarkan keganasan di ceramah

Anwar Ibrahim berkata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak secara tidak langsung membiarkan tindakan ganas dilakukan ke atas ceramah Pakatan dengan tidak mengutuk tindakan tersebut.

Katanya, Najib secara tidak langsung membiarkan tindakan tersebut ketika apabila perdana menteri tidak membuat kenyataan supaya perkara seperti itu dihentikan.

Najib juga melepaskan tanggungjawabnya dengan bertindak demikian, kata Anwar lagi ketika ditemui pemberita di Klang petang ini.

Siri serangan yang mensasarkan ceramah Pakatan Rakyat semakin menjadi-jadi seperti yang berlaku di Gambang (Pahang), Merlimau (Melaka) dan terbaru di Lembah Pantai (Kuala Lumpur yang menyebabkan sekurang-kurangnya tiga orang cedera.

Ditanya mengenai dakwaan Umno bahawa beliau yang mencetus pergaduhan di Lembah Pantai ketika ceramah pada Khamis malam itu, Anwar dengan sinis berkata mangsa dalam kejadian tersebut, seorang lelaki yang sudah berumur, mungkin cedera akibat perbuatan sendiri.

Mangsa Keganasan Samseng UMNO "Raja Din Dakwa Dilastik Ball Bearing( Bebola Besi)

Mangsa keganasan samseng Umno, Raja Ismail Raja Din yang berdarah kepala semasa ceramah Pakatan Rakyat, di Pantai Dalam 24 Mei lalu, mendakwa dilastik dengan bebola besi (ball bearing).

Menceritakan semula kejadian di pangsapuri Pantai Permai itu, Raja Ismail memberitahu, kira-kira jam 11 malam, bekalan elektrik yang disambung ke tapak ceramah dipotong.

“Dalam gelap itu tiba-tiba saya rasa ada sesuatu yang berat dan keras kena di kepala. Saya terasa sakit. Bila dikesat, nampak darah.

“Orang kata saya dilastik dengan ‘ball bearing’ dari tingkat atas Flat. Saya berlari ke arah pentas dan pengsan. Hanya sedar ketika di Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL),” jelas Raja Ismail yang kehilangan banyak darah akibat luka di dahi.

“Bukan sahaja ‘ball bearing’, tapi telur tembelang dan batu dibaling ke kawasan ceramah,” katanya yang dibenarkan keluar pada jam 2 pagi, selepas mendapat rawatan di HKL.

Bagaimanapun, pesara Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) berusia 60 tahun ini berkata, beliau tidak serik untuk datang ke ceramah Pakatan Rakyat pada masa akan datang.

Ini kerana katanya, hanya melalui program ceramah sahaja rakyat dapat mendengar maklumat alternatif.

“Saya takkan serik untuk datang ke ceramah. Kalau himpunan Bersih 3.0 pun saya turun, takkanlah ceramah kita tak pergi?, ujarnya.

Raja Ismail turut kecewa dengan Polis yang ‘membutakan mata’ terhadap keganasan samseng upahan Umno, sedangkan perkara itu berlaku di depan mereka sendiri.

“Bertahun-tahun saya pergi ceramah. Tak pernah jadi macam ini. Polis buat apa? Kalau ‘geng’ dia buat kacau, dibiarkan. Ini tak boleh.

“Malu saya tengok budak-budak muda Melayu terima upah rendah semata-mata nak ganggu majlis orang,” kata Raja Ismail. -kd

Lembu2 UMNO mengamuk di Pantai Dalam...

Hari Khamis 24 Mei yang lalu sepatutnya sama seperti hari-hari Khamis lain. Saya ditugaskan membuat liputan ceramah politik PKR - satu perkara yang biasa saya lakukan sebelum bertugas di Malaysiakini lagi. Ceramah itu dijadual berlangsung di Pantai Dalam, yang terletak dalam kawasan Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai, Nurul Izzah Anwar.

Sepanjang jalan bermula dari stesen Petronas Pantai Dalam ke tapak ceramah di PPR Pantai Permai aliran trafik lebih sesak daripada biasa.

Kelihatan pemuda-pemuda berbaju-T merah memegang kain rentang berdiri di kiri kanan jalan. Pada kain rentang tersebut tertulis mesej-mesej antaranya "Anwar kaki pusing", "Parti anak-beranak", dan "Parti Kencing Rakyat"

Saya tidak pasti sekiranya kesesakan trafik hari itu berpunca daripada kebanjiran ramai orang ke ceramah Pakatan Rakyat yang merupakan satu perkara biasa, atau kerana jalan raya ke tapak ceramah menjadi semakin sempit dengan kehadiran pemuda-pemuda berbaju merah tadi.

Kira-kira 10 meter dari tapak ceramah PKR rupa-rupanya turut berlangsung satu lagi ceramah politik. Kain rentang ceramah politik itu bertulis "Ganyang Petualang Negara", dipercayai ditujukan buat Ketua Umum PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Jangkaan saya tepat apabila mendapati antara penceramah yang dijadualkan berucap di pentas itu adalah Ummi Hafilda Ali, seperti yang dapat dilihat pada satu kain rentang.

Wah! Ini kali pertama saya bakal melihat Ummi Hafilda berceramah dan juga ceramah politik berkembar.

Di pentas ceramah PKR, Nurul Izzah Anwar baru mengambil tempat untuk berceramah. Selang beberapa minit beliau berucap suaranya tiba-tiba 'hilang' daripada sistem siaraya.
Pada waktu itu, saya mengagak ia mugkin disebabkan gangguan teknikal yang kadang-kala berlaku pada mana-mana ceramah. Namun, pada masa sama lampu khemah menempatkan Nurul Izzah turut gelap. Rupa-rupanya tapak ceramah PKR putus bekalan elektrik.

Beberapa petugas ceramah berlari ke blok apartmen bersebelahan yang membekalkan kuasa elektrik ke tapak ceramah. Saya bergegas mengekori mereka.

"Wayar kena potong-potong! Wayar kena potong!" jerit seorang petugas. Apabila saya tiba, saya lihat wayar elektrik terputus dua. Selepas saya merakamkan beberapa keping gambar, petugas ceramah menyambung semula wayar itu dan bekalan elektrik di tapak ceramah PKR kembali pulih.

Saya beredar ke tapak ceramah Umno untuk meninjau suasana di situ. Ummi Hafilda sedang berucap dan kira-kira 200 orang berpakaian merah sedang mendengar ucapannya. Mereka memenuhi kira-kira dua daripada lima khemah tersedia. Ummi kelihatan manis - berjubah kain licin nipis berwarna hijau. Ummi berucap menggunakan rostrum dan sambil berucap kain jubahnya ditiup angin kipas pentas di belakangnya.

Saya kembali ke tapak ceramah PKR dan mengambil tempat hampir dengan khemah ceramah untuk mengikuti ceramah Anwar yang baru menaiki pentas.. Kini Anwar sedang berucap.

Tiba-tiba, beberapa orang hadirin di sebelah saya bangun berdiri dan keadaan bertukar menjadi kecoh. Saya tertanya-tanya apa yang berlaku. Mereka bising-bising dan meninjau-ninjau ke arah belakang.

Rupa-rupanya salah seorang daripada mereka dibaling telur dan mereka cuba mencari dari arah mana datangnya telur itu. Anwar yang menyedari perkara itu meminta hadirin bertenang dan meneruskan ceramahnya semula.

Selang beberapa minit Anwar berucap, tiba-tiba hadirin ceramah berhampiran saya kembali berdiri dan keadaan kembali kecoh. Namun suasananya kali ini terasa lebih panik. 

Saya ternampak seorang wanita mempamerkan wajah takut selepas beliau meninjau ke bahagian belakang khemah tersebut. Pada masa itu juga beberapa kamera video yang merakam ucapan Anwar diangkat dan jurukamera bergegas berpusing ke belakang.

"Beri laluan! Beri laluan!" jerit suara dari arah belakang saya. Seorang lelaki tua berbaju putih dengan kesan tompok darah dipapah dekat dengan pentas ceramah dalam keadaan tidak bermaya. Apabila beliau dipapah semakin dekat dengan tempat saya berdiri, kelihatan darah mengalir keluar dari dahinya dengan tidak berhenti-henti.

Orang ramai mendudukkan beliau di atas kerusi di hadapan pentas. Keadaan sekeliling bertambah panik kerana darah masih terus mengalir keluar dari dahinya dan menitik ke atas baju-T beliau. 

Melihat keadaan lelaki itu Anwar melaungkan "Pemuda Umno sial! Pemuda Umno sial!" melalui sistem pembesar suara.

Lelaki itu kemudian diusung keluar dari tapak ceramah dan dibawa ke tempat lain masih dalam keadaan separa sedar - dipercayai untuk rawatan.

Tidak berpuas hati dengan perkara yang berlaku, penyokong lelaki PKR mula berdiri dan bergerak ke arah pintu pagar kuarters DBKL yang memisahkan ceramah PKR dan ceramah Umno.

Pada masa sama penyokong Umno dari dalam kawasan kuarters DBKL turut bergerak ke arah pagar tersebut. Namun jumlah mereka hanya dianggarkan satu perlima daripada penyokong PKR.

Di pentas Umno, Ummi masih berceramah begitu juga Anwar di tapak ceramah PKR.

Penyokong kedua-dua pihak mula menjerit-jerit ke arah satu sama lain. Kedua-duanya kelihatan seolah-seolah sedia untuk bertempur dan akan memanjat pagar ke sebelah pihak satu lagi jika polis tidak berkawal berhampiran pagar itu.

Keadaan yang sama berterusan sewaktu Ahli Parlimen Shah Alam Khalid Samad mula berucap di sebelah PKR. Di pihak Umno, Ummi Hafilda masih lagi berucap. Namun beliau akan menghentikan ucapannya untuk mendengar butiran ucapan Khalid Samad dan membidasnya secara spontan.

Saya kini berada di antara pagar yang memisahkan kedua-dua penyokong. Dari tempat saya berdiri, sekali sekala saya ternampak beberapa penyokong Umno dengan bendera Malaysia diikat menyembunyikan wajah mereka melontar telur dan botol air mineral ke arah penyokong PKR. Polis berdiri memerhatikan perkara tersebut tetapi mereka tidak pula melarangnya.

Sekitar dua puluh minit kemudian keadaan tegang beransur reda. Sorak-menyorak sudah berkurangan. Saya kembali ke tapak ceramah PKR. Khalid Samad sedang berucap dan menceritakan kejayaan-kejayaan negeri Selangor kepada penduduk setempat.

Saya dan rakan setugas, Koh Jun Lin dihampiri seorang lelaki. Menurutnya ada seorang budak perempuan turut menjadi mangsa lontaran batu pada malam itu. Kami mengikut lelaki itu ke bahagian khemah penceramah dan menemubual budak perempuan itu dengan ditemani ibunya.

Ceramah berakhir tidak lama kemudian apabila Khalid Samad membacakan doa sebagai penutup ucapan beliau.

Merenung kembali perkara yang baru sahaja berlaku beberapa minit lalu, saya tidak dapat membayangkan bagaimana suasana pilihan raya umum kelak.

Ceramah continue to expose more sandbox politics...

It was when a bloodied old man stumbled out of a crowd and collapsed on a chair before us, when we realised that we were in the midst of trouble at PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's ceramah last Thursday night.

The incident obviously enraged Anwar, who was moments earlier calling for calm saying, "They are throwing again? Sigh. Stay calm and remember. Tonight we are witnessing the ways of Umno and Umno Youth. They have no morality."
Then the mood turned when the opposition leader saw the victim, in semi-conscious state, bleeding from his forehead.

"A person is injured by projectiles! A person is injured! Curse (celaka) you, Umno people! Curse you! A person has been injured because he had been hit by rocks thrown by Umno Youth. Curses!" he yelled.

He directed that the man be taken away for medical attention while we took pictures and started writing our stories on the spot, paying little heed to the speeches that we were supposed to cover.

We had been assigned to report on the ceramah at the Pantai Permai public housing flats that night. Earlier at 1.15pm, we received word from the Lembah Pantai MP's political secretary Fahmi Fadzil to expect trouble.

"Umno ceramah nearby. Our banners were cut or vandalised. Anti-Anwar banners put up near Angkasapuri," read his SMS when asked why he was worried.

Lasers make dramatic entrance

At first, it was just a group of 80 in red Umno Youth T-shirts, carrying anti-PKR banners chanting "Tibai (whack)," which is also the acronym of an anti-Anwar group.

As Fahmi had warned, there was an Umno ceramah in the vicinity. In fact, it was next door at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall staff quarters.

At the time, we kept an eye out for trouble without expecting any.

Batu MP Tian Chua was the first to speak, and was fortunate to complete it undisturbed.

Then PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin took his turn, only to be targeted by green lasers. He ignored the blinding light and soldiered on.

It was at 10.25pm when Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar's (left) speech had just started, that the lights blinked out, the speaker fell silent, and a green laser turned on her. Her speech would have to wait.

An egg had also landed just a metre in front of one of us, but in the dark, open venue, it was difficult to tell where the missiles were coming from. We only felt their impact.

People were also pointing at the presumed source of the missiles, either at the Umno ceramah venue, or the spectators looking from the apartments above. The chants of "Reformasi" slowly degenerated into random noise.

We saw people rushing into a corridor behind the VIP tent, and we followed them to find several PKR supporters attempting to repair a cut wire. It had been deliberately done, they claimed.

At that point on the Umno side, Ummi Hafilda was addressing some 200 red-clad audience occupying two of the five tents set up.

She looked sweet in her green satin-like robe. She was standing before a rostrum with a fan blowing behind her.

Meanwhile at the PKR ceramah, power was restored and Nurul Izzah, who is the local MP, resumed with her speech but only to flinch backwards as if to dodge something, while her bodyguards rushed forward to provide a human shield, their eyes apparently scanning area for further threats.

Nurul Izzah resumed her speech once she had regained her composure, but now spiced with such fury that neither of us had seen before.

"I have been campaigning for a long time, since (my predecessor) Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's reign, but this is the worst ever.

"(But) I think this is the last time BN would form the government," she said, before going on to, among others, condemn Umno for vandalising their flags, disturbing their ceramah, saying that the people will never forget nor forgive this transgression.

She ended her speech shouting "Reformasi". Even that came in an unfamiliar, angry tone.

Soon, it was her father's turn at the mike when suddenly the atmosphere became infused with confusion and anger once more.

People were making noise and looking over their shoulders. It turned out that an egg had found its mark on a member of the audience. Anwar appealed for calm and continued.

Returning to kindergarten ways
 
"Make way! Make way!" people shouted.

That was when we saw the old man. And that was when Anwar lost his cool. Then we realised we were not reporting on the speeches any more.

Unhappy with the incident, PKR and Umno supporters closed their distance, separated only by a brick-and-mortar fence. Meanwhile, Anwar and Ummi Hafilda continued with their speeches at their respective places.

The two groups were shouting at each other, looking prepared to climb over the fence to fight it out. At this point, the police rushed in from the Umno venue and ordered both sides to back off.

There was a relative calm after that, and it was Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad's turn at the microphone.

By now, Ummi Hafilda (left) had stopped her speech to turn and hear Khalid's before setting forth her counter arguments.

Monitoring both ceramah from the fence, Umno supporters with Jalur Gemilang as masks were seen throwing eggs and water bottles at their PKR counterparts every once in a while.
The police, meanwhile, just stood by and watched.

Over the next 20 minutes, the situation gradually returned to normal. The cheering and shouting died down and we met up again in front of the PKR VIP tent to catch Khalid winding up his speech.

Then, a man approached us.

"Are you from the media? Come, a girl has been injured," he said.

We followed him and found a little girl with her mother resting in the VIP tent. She had just seen a doctor and had a bandage on her arm, on which a fist-sized brick had landed, so we interviewed them both on what had taken place.

The time of the interview was 11.45pm, just 15 minutes shy of her 12th birthday, we were told.

Khalid Samad ended his speech soon after with a prayer at midnight, and the crowd left the area followed by Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

They disappeared into a night market behind the apartment, leaving us standing where we were, dissecting the night's events.

Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) berkata, keputusan tinjauan bahawa 92 peratus rakyat Malaysia hilang keyakinan terhadap sistem pilihan raya mungkin disebabkan "mereka mungkin tidak tahu apa yang mereka katakan".

Timbalan Pengerusi SPR Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar(kanan) juga berkata, soalan yang dikemukakan dalam tinjauan itu terlalu umum dan terdapat kecenderungan bagi mendorong menjawab "ya" bagi soalan yang dikemukakan.(Lembu pekak tak mengaku punya)

"Soalan yang diberikan jelas dan menggunakan logik, semua orang akan menjawab mereka mahu dafar pemilih yang bersih, termasuk SPR.

"Saya hairan kenapa masih ada lapan peratus daripada mereka menjawab negatif untuk soalan itu," katanya sinis.

Satu kajiselidik yang dibuat baru-baru ini - sehingga sehari sebelum perhimpunan BERSIH 3.0 - menunjukkan majoriti responden mahu daftar pemilih dibersihkan sebelum pilihan raya umum akan datang.

EC says polls respondents may be just ignorant...

The Election Commission (EC) is unperturbed by the latest poll findings by Merdeka Centre that shows widespread distrust towards the electoral process, saying that the respondents “might not know what they are talking about”.
 

The survey results announced yesterday shows among others, an astounding 92 percent of the 1,019 respondents support a clean-up of the electoral roll.

In addition, 49 percent of those interviewed do not believe that the electoral process is free from irregularity while 51 percent think the postal voting process lacks transparency and is open to political interference.

When contacted by Malaysiakini today, EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar(left) dismissed the poll question on the electoral roll as being too general, as it has the tendency to prompt respondents to reply “yes”, following common sense.
     
“The question is obvious and by logic, everybody will say they want a clean electoral roll, including the EC.

“I wonder why there are still eight percent of them who replied negatively to the question,” he said mockingly.

‘Perception not reality’

When reminded that the poser was instead about the electoral roll clean-up, and not a clean electoral roll, Wan Ahmad said the negative result might have arisen due to perception.

“But perception does not mean truth. Many of them might only hear one side of the story. They don’t bother to read the election laws and don’t understand the nature of the EC’s job.

“I am not sure whether they understand what they talking about. I am not saying everybody does not, but from my experience, a lot of them don't, they just echo what other people say,” he said.

Wan Ahmad however noted that the EC was aware of the negative perception and it has been cleaning the electoral roll since "day one".

He also took a swipe at the way research group Merdeka Centre conducted its poll, saying that they should at first ask the interviewees of the latter’s knowledge of the electoral process, election laws and the like.

“If you just get a guy on the street and ask, he will never bother. Maybe he just registered (to vote) last year.

“But if he has read the laws, then he will be fair to us,” he said.

‘No hanky panky’
Wan Ahmad insisted that the EC is conducting matters exactly to the rules and laws available with “no hanky panky”.

When asked whether the EC still thinks that the call for electoral reforms is politically-motivated now that the general public appears to back its aspirations, he said electoral reform is a “widely accepted agenda” already.

He said the formation of the parliamentary select committee (PSC) on the issue and the EC’s initiatives to implement indelible ink have proved his point.

“The country needs electoral reform, and we are doing the reforms,” he said.

Asked again whether the survey will expedite the implementation of such reforms, Wan Ahmad said, “We could not be bothered by this (the survey), because we are already committed (to reform).” - malaysiakini

Penang CM Lim Guan Eng to help Asrul secure a job...

Malaysiakini readers and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng are touched by Asrul's courage and determination to continue fighting for a clean and fair election.

The Bersih participant - Asrul Wadi Ahmad - who may be permanently blind from being hit by a tear-gas canister during the Apr 28 protest, is overcome by gratitude at the overwhelming support Malaysians have shown him in his hour of need.

Asrul, 26, (left) says the kindness and support that the public has shown  will motivate him to continue with the struggle for a better Malaysia.

"A million thanks to everyone for their caring and contribution from all Malaysians, regardless of race and religion," he told Malaysiakini.

"What I really hope for is that we all continue to rise up and fight together for the future of our country and for a Malaysia which could be much, much better," he added.

Asrul is also touched that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had asked to see him yesterday, with two meeting at the latter's office on the 28th floor of Komtar, the state government's administrative centre.

Asrul said during the 20-minute meeting. Lim had said he would help the youth who hails from Kepala Batas secure a job.

"I am thankful that he was willing to meet me and my family is also very touched that he has offered to help me resolve some of my problems," he said.

‘Courage and conviction'

Asrul, who newly graduated as a mechanical engineer, lost his job in a well-known manufacturing company in Penang, after his eyes was seriously injured when a tear-gas canister shot directly into the crowd, hit him.

Asrul, who was around the Masjid Jamek area with his family, collapsed in pain, bleeding profusely from his right eye. 

He was rushed to a nearby hospital by concerned members of the public.

Asrul shared his plight at a press conference with human rights NGO Suaram in Penang on Thursday.

Malaysiakini readers were touched by his "courage and conviction" to continue fighting for the cause despite his injury that they have offered to help him financially.

During the press event, Asrul said youths have a responsibility to ensure that their country remains democratic.

He vowed never to give up his struggle despite his impending blindness, saying that he was prepared to participate in Bersih 4.0, if the rally was organised.

CM impressed with Asrul's resoluteness

Meanwhile, Lim when contacted confirmed the meeting and said he would try his best to help Asrul, who has shown great "courage and determination", in the face of much adversity.

Suaram board member, Ong Jing Cheng said he was happy to hear that the public was so supportive of Bersih's struggles and responded immediately with much kindness at the plight of the group's participant.

"It really shows how much support Malaysians have and how much they desire clean and fair elections," he added.

Medical doctor, Dr Khim Pa, who has been helping Asrul with his current condition said that Bersih has been helping him out with hospital fees, and the latter has met four doctors.

Dr Pa, who is actively involved in Penang's NGO network called Sembang-Sembang, said if Asrul's condition does not improve in six months, he may be certified "legally blind".

"The doctors have advised him to rest for now," he added. He also said that if he were find employment, the job must suit his condition.

92% M'sians want voters roll cleaned up before 13th GE...

A recent poll, done on the eve of the Bersih 3.0 rally, shows that an overwhelming majority of people surveyed want the electoral roll to be cleaned up before the next general election.

According to independent polling group Merdeka Centre, an astounding 92 percent of the 1,019 people surveyed last month said the government should do this before the general election.

The results were almost unanimous across race, age group, gender, income and region, with more than 90 percent of each group answering in the positive.
The survey was conducted over two weeks - between April 14 and 26 - days before the mammoth Bersih rally that saw thousands of yellow-clad protesters on the streets of Kuala Lumpur demanding for clean and fair elections.

Half of those polled have no confidence in roll

It also found that about half, or 48 percent, of the same group said they have no confidence in the electoral roll.

The survey conducted in the weeks preceeding the Bersih 3.0 April 28 rally found that respondents felt there were “irregularities” in the roll, including “doubtful voters such as foreigners, people transferred without their knowledge or people with multiple identities”.

More than half of those polled also believe that the law should be amended to allow the gazetted electoral roll to be challenged.

However, a significant 17 percent strongly disagreed with this proposal, which would mean Section 9A of the Election Act should be repealed.

Very strong support for Sabah RCI

Merdeka Centre also found very strong support for a royal commission of inquiry into illegal immigration into Sabah, a matter that is also related to the electoral roll integrity.

A total of 79 percent agree that a RCI be held, while the bulk of them “strongly” agreeing with this.

The RCI found equal support in the northern, central, southern and eastern regions of the country, while those aged 21-30 polled the highest in terms of support among all age groups.

There is still confusion over whether the government will be setting up the royal commission on the matter.

While some ministers have said that the RCI has already been approved by the cabinet months ago, Prime Minister Najib Razak has yet to make an official announcement. - malaysiakini

Survey: Najib has failed to ensure free and fair polls

Almost half don't trust electoral process...

A survey done in the weeks leading up to the Bersih 3.0 rally in April found that about half of Malaysians have no trust in the present electoral process.

According to the Merdeka Centre poll conducted from  April 14 to 26, 49 percent do not believe that the process "is free from irregularity".

Of the 1,019 people polled, it found that only 20 percent are “very confident” that the process can be trusted.
 
The survey was completed just days before the mammoth April 28 Bersih rally that saw thousands of yellow-clad protesters on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, demanding clean and fair elections.

While an overwhelming 68 percent of the Chinese respondents do not trust the process, compared with 19 percent who do, the same cannot be said for Malays.

More Malays are more optimistic over the process, with 57 percent trusting the process, compared with 39 percent who do not. Half of the Indians polled were not confident in the process.

The telephone survey found that a similar number of people also do not trust the postal voting process.

A total of 51 percent said the postal voting process “lacks transparency and is open to political interference”.

Most who do not trust postal voting have incomes higher than RM5,000 a month and aged between 31 and 40 years.

Poor understanding of Bersih's demands

While the lack of confidence in postal voting matches one of electoral reform NGO Bersih's eight demands, only 39 percent feel they understand these demands.

A mere 13 percent said they understood Bersih's demands “a great deal” while a large 24 percent did not understand the demands at all.

Most of those who said they do not understand Bersih's demands are from rural areas and have incomes lower than RM1,500 a month.

There is also poor confidence in the parliamentary select committee for electoral reform, with half believing that it is only a “cover-up or to divert public attention”.

Indians had the least confidence, with more than half saying the PSC is a cover-up, while Malays remained the most trusting, with 42 percent believing it to be a “sincere effort”.

Satu kajiselidik yang dibuat baru-baru ini - sehari sebelum perhimpunan BERSIH 3.0 -  menunjukkan majoriti responden mahu daftar pemilih dibersihkan sebelum pilihan raya umum akan datang.

Menurut Merdeka Centre, 92 peratus daripada 1,019 orang yang dikajiselidik bulan lalu berkata kerajaan perlu melakukannya sebelum pilihan raya umum.

Keputusan itu hampir sebulat suara di kalangan responden pelbagai bangsa, kumpulan umur, jantina, pendapatan dan kawasan, dengan lebih 90 peratus daripada setiap kumpulan, menjawab dengan positif.
