How to become a gang member...

In Malaysia, almost everyone has the opportunity to join secret society without difficulty. If you are a young man, you will have 50% more chance. Secret societies are open to all. You don't need an A or a good looking face to join.

Just like other societies in schools, secret societies welcome new members, have organised cadres and are active in promoting their activities.

Hong Men, Wah Kee, 04, 36, and Satu Hati are fighting for new members with Scouts, St. John Ambulance, Chinese Society, and Tamil Society.

For some students, secret societies are more attractive than uniformed groups. It is so hard to be a uniformed group member as they would have to march under the hot sun; learn tying knots and first aid; memorise all the rules and go around to raise fund.

It is more relaxing to join secret societies. All you need is to make a vicious face and give orders.

As for fundraising, there is no need to beg. Just ask, "you want to give or not?" After deducting the part for the boss, you can even keep the rest.

Moreover, it is so cool to be a gang member. It can even meet the desire for power, peer fear, and admiration from the opposite sex.

There are also admiration from the society.

Hong Kong-based comic Oriental Heroes demonstrated secret societies as a world of justice. Slashing, burning, kidnapping are necessary means while blood and violence are heroic acts.Ten-year-old children have already agreed with these behaviours and joining secret societies became their great ambition.

A Better Tomorrow, Young and Dangerous and Infernal Affairs have become classics in the Chinese movie industry. Misbehaviours are covered by brotherhood love while violence are shown more effective than the rule of law.

Fifteen-year-old teenagers are so excited after watching these movies and immediately, they join a secret society so that they can be heroes, too.

Schools attended by Indian young people, their living environment and cultural ecologies are having even higher exposure to secret societies compared to the Chinese. Please think, how have we actually educated our children and what kind of environment has been provided to them?

Under such an environment, there is no need to teach them. From input to output, it would be as easy as a straight line for secret societies to get members. Therefore, the headline of this article should instead be "How to avoid becoming gang member".

It is much more difficult to answer this question.

First of all, never ever send your children to secret society preparatory schools. Please do whatever possible to avoid schools with signs of existence of secret societies.

Secondly, search and destroy all gang-themed comics, movie DVDs and books. Please do not hesitate even to smash your 52-inch television if you have to.

Thirdly, track the whereabouts of your children and understand what they are thinking. Develop their ideas of right and wrong and instil the rule of law concept of civilisation to lead them towards a bright future, and help them get the courage and confidence to overcome setbacks and keep pursuing their goals.

Lastly, if all the above methods fail, you can arrange a trip to visit the Simpang Renggam Jail, so that they can see the fate of gangsters. It might bring a shocking and preventive effect.- Sin Chew Daily

Penang asks cinemas not to screen Tanda Putera...

The Penang government will request cinemas in the state to not screen 'Tanda Putera', which is scheduled for release nationwide tomorrow.

NONEState exco member Chow Kon Yeow, who is in charge of local government and thus cinema licences, said his department will issue the written request today.

"We have no control over the content of the film, (which is the prerogative of) Finas (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia).

"However, in view of the sensitive nature of the movie, we are directing the two local councils (in Penang and Seberang Perai) to write in to ask the cooperation of the cinemas to not screen the movie," he told a press conference.

lim guan eng interview 160813 02Asked what would the state do if the cinemas refused to comply, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (left), who was also present, did not provide a direct answer.

"The film has scenes which are slanderous, based on lies, and it is a threat to the harmony between the different communities in the country.

"Those scenes of Chinese youth urinating inside the Selangor menteri besar (Harun Idris') residence and Malaysian flag can create chaos in society," he said.

He said the incident never happened because the residence was heavily guarded, as claimed by a witness who was at Harun's house at the material time.

Licence to lie?

Lim also took the mainstream media to task for failing to point out that the scene was a work of fiction.

On film director Shuhaimi Baba's explanation that the filmmakers claimed "creative licence" to adapt historical events into the film, Lim said that it was not a "licence to lie".

"If this trend continues, what if one day they make a film suggesting that Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered by Anwar Ibrahim or Lim Kit Siang?" he asked.

"We cannot understand how the government can spend money to sponsor such a malicious and dangerous film."-malaysiakini

K'jaan PP minta pawagam tak tayang Tanda Putera

Raja Mohd Shahrim - Filem ni berkisar pada perjuangan UMNO.. bukan negara..!!! sepatutnya ditayangkan di ZOO saja.... (Zon org UMNO)....

Johnny Tung - Jangan tak tayang, Tayang, I nak bawak anak saya pi tengok, saya nak ajar anak saya apa itu fitnah, rasis dan dengki, Supaya anak saya menjadi orang yang berguna masa depan nanti

Abasir - "If this trend continues, what if one day they make a film suggesting that Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered by Anwar Ibrahim or Lim Kit Siang?" he asked." What if someone makes a movie on the life of Mahathir and indicates that he has been having a clandestine affair with Rosmah Mansor? Can the film maker claim creative license and will he/she get government funds for that?

YF - Indians were murdered too during May 13. So it's not just one race that became victims to the Apartheid gangsters in UMNO. So why is this movie missing this as well? Obviously there is no truth in this Tanda Putar.

Banzai - Just boycott this film and prevent the producer from making money. Might as well spend the money by giving a sumptuous meal to your family. All Malaysian must boycott.

Nak sambut merdeka buat apa, Malaya tak pernah dijajah...

"Jangan kita sebut, kita terjajah selama 400 tahun.

No action if Negaraku not observed by cinema-goers...

NONEThe government will not take any action against those who do not observe the national anthem when it plays in cinemas across the country this weekend, Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said today.

"We will see first, we will gather feedback. We have our people in all the cinemas (to observe)," Shabery said during a press conference at his ministry.

"We want to know why some people don’t observe.

"Is it because they are unaware? Is it because of the anthem itself?

"We will gather reasons," he added.

He said that the feedback would be used to outline the ministry’s plans for the National Day celebrations next year, where he said a permanent secretariat would be set up to look into National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

"I know some people do not even want to stand up for the national anthem. I know there is such a movement to ask people not to stand up for the national anthem," he said.

Shabery, however, did not divulge whether his staff will start interviewing those who do not observe the national anthem in cinemas.

"We will see, how to go about it," he said curtly when asked.

No plans to introduce 'patriotism' law

Meanwhile, Shabery also denied ever having said that he would consider laws to push patriotism in the country.

Despite initial reports that he would make it a must for everyone to observe the national anthem in cinemas and also to fly the national flag during Merdeka, Shabery said that introducing such laws are only his "last resort".

“I never said that I want to introduce laws. Malaysiakini is the only one who said so,” he said.

Bernama has, in a report carried by Malaysiakini last Saturday, said the Communications and Multimedia Ministry would be studying the need to introduce a law to make it compulsory for every premises to fly the Jalur Gemilang throughout the month of Merdeka.

Shabery said that the playing of national anthem in cinemas will begin tomorrow and that he would personally visit some of the cinemas to observe the situation.

“It will be from Aug 28 to Sept 3,” he said.- malaysiakini

The police motorcycle on the ground is clear proof of the fact that policemen were involved in the snatch theft. Saravanan's damaged car is proof of his heroic act in coming to the defence of a snatch theft victim. SUNPIX

Robber Cops...

Saravanan Batumalai had the shock of his life hours after ramming his car into a motorcycle used by two snatch thieves last month: they were off-duty policemen.

The first indication that they were men in blue came when he called 999 after the incident at 12.15pm on July 3 and a police patrol car arrived, only to have the policemen confirm that the motorcycle belonged to the Kelana Jaya police station.

When Saravanan went to the police station to make a report, the investigating officer called in two policemen who turned out to be the ones who had tried to snatch the gold necklace of a woman walking along the road outside his workplace in Taman Mayang, Petaling Jaya.

One had been riding the motorcycle while the other was his pillion.

The drama unfolded just after noon that day when the 27-year-old was in his car outside his workplace and saw two men on a motorcycle snatching a woman's necklace.

"I immediately sped up and rammed into their motorbike and both of them fell," Saravanan told theSun today.

One of the thieves got up and fled while the other tried to speed away on the damaged the motorbike and both of them fell," Saravanan told theSun today.

One of the thieves got up and fled while the other tried to speed away on the damaged motorcycle.

Saravanan rammed the motorcycle again, making the thief fall and pinning the machine under the front wheel of his car.

The thief retaliated by throwing stones in Saravanan's direction, missing him but damaging his car further with the windscreen shattered and side dented.
But that was not the end.

"He then took out a knife and lunged at me, pulling off my gold chain, and ran away. I retrieved a gold locket from the ground later which must have been from the woman's necklace," he said, adding that the woman left the scene almost immediately.

Saravanan did not pursue the man because he was armed.

Subsequently, he followed the two policemen who arrived at the scene in their patrol car to the police station at 2pm, where it was confirmed that the two-wheeler belonged to the police after inspection of its chassis number.

It was also revealed that it had been fitted with false number plates.

After a two-hour wait, Inspector Hasbullah asked him to make a statement.

"He called for two men to be brought in. They were the two snatch thieves and I told him so," he said.

One of the patrolmen later told him the duo were policemen.

Saravanan then made a report at the Petaling Jaya police station.

On July 19, Saravanan was called to attend an identification parade where he identified the two cops.

However, after that, he was not contacted by anyone until Sunday, when Inspector Hasbullah called to arrange for him to record another statement.

Saravanan has paid a heavy price for his actions – he had already spent RM3,800 to repair his car bumper and replace its windscreen with other repairs costing an estimated RM4,000.

Selangor Acting Chief Police Officer Datuk A. Thaiveegan has asked Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed for a detailed report on the case.- theSun daily

Technical error, thieving cops back on duty...

The two policemen who were allegedly moonlighting as snatch thieves were not detained because of a ‘technical error’, Petaling Jaya district police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said here today.

The senior police officer however, refused to elaborate on the ‘technical problem’ faced by the police in detaining the two lower rank policemen.

“There was a problem during the identification parade. That is why the duo were back on duty after the incident. I can’t tell you about the problem as it would jeopardise our investigation,” Arjunaidi told a press conference at the police headquarters.

However, Arjunaidi assured that there would be no cover-up in the investigation.

“We are not protecting anyone. At the moment we are looking for more evidence and taking down more statements,” he said.

He also revealed that the two policemen were not attached to any police station in Selangor.

“The two cops are not from Selangor but I can’t tell you which unit or state they belong to,” said Arjunaidi.

When contacted, complainant B Saravanan insisted he had not made any mistake during the identification parade.

“As far as I can remember I did nothing wrong. In fact I straight away pointed at the two thieves (police officers) when I saw them lining up,” he said.

Thaiveegan pdrm
Earlier this morning, Selangor Acting Police Chief, A Thaiveegan expressed shock and regret over a snatch theft incident which allegedly involved two of his men.

Speaking to FMT, Thaiveegan promised to look into the matter thoroughly and guaranteed a fair investigation.

“Of course I will look into this matter. Give me the report number and I will immediately talk to Arjunaidi Mohamed (Petaling Jaya district police chief) regarding this matter.

“There will be no cover ups and the investigation will be conducted in a fair manner,” said the Selangor top cop.

“I want to get to the bottom this. I want to reach out to this man (Saravanan) so that we can both work it out and solve this issue. I take this very seriously,” he said.

On July 3, lorry driver Saravanan lodged a police report after he confronted two snatch thieves who had stolen a gold necklace from a foreign national. During the scuffle, the thieves also snatched away Saravanan’s gold chain.

Three hours after the incident, he was summoned to the Kelana Jaya police station for an identification parade where he was told by a corporal that the snatch thieves were in fact, police officers. He had also seen the two suspects walking about in the station.

Saravanan was once again called to the Kelana Jaya police station on July 19 for another identification parade. Despite identifying the perpetrators twice, Saravanan said that he has yet to receive any updates on the case investigation.

Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Kastam ditembak mati kerana...

Photo: Anak Dedah Punca Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Kastam Mati Di Tembak

Deputy director-general II Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim was shot dead because...

"My father's murder was planned. It was related to a car smuggling syndicate in Langkawi. My father had previously told his superiors of corrupt customs officers in their midst, claiming that they were linked to a car smuggling racket."

Mohd Akhtar Shaharuddin, the son of Royal Malaysian Customs deputy director-general II Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim who was shot dead in Putrajaya on April 26.

These remarks were not made out of vengeance or retribution. They came from a man who wants his father's killer(s) to be brought to justice.

However, reading deeper into these annotations and through personal observations and investigations, one cannot help believing that these words have more than a semblance of truth.

A month before Shaharuddin was gunned down, the Customs Department issued a statement that 368 Langkawi-registered vehicles are running in the rest of Malaysia with suspected forged customs declaration forms.

"We have detected 368 vehicles originally registered in Langkawi and subsequently registered in Principal Customs Areas using suspected falsified custom declaration forms without payment of customs duties and taxes," it said on March 21.

(Areas outside of Langkawi and Labuan, it said, were known as Principal Customs Areas.)

It added that it had seized 76 vehicles "for further investigation" and was tracking the remainder. This, according to sources sent many people running helter-skelter to get their cars back on the island.

Cars bought on the island are free of import taxes and excise duties and after five years, they can be brought to the mainland after paying taxes on its depreciated value.

On a trip to Langkawi last year, the numbers of luxury cars on the road were scarce. A handful of Hummers and Porsches were seen on the road but the statistics show otherwise.

For the first seven months of last year, a total of 165 luxury cars were registered on the island:

Lexus - 46
Porsche - 56
Ferrari - 22
Jaguar - 10
BMW - 10
Mercedes - 21

Locals said that many people buy the cars and store them on the island and use them when they come on holidays. Otherwise, there are all under the tarpaulin to be "taken to the mainland".

So, what did Shaharuddin discover? A number of dealers working hand in glove with crooked customs officers were bringing in cars from the island without paying the appropriate duties.

But Mohd Akhtar made some telling points:

The mastermind was someone in the customs department;

Shaharuddin had told his superiors of corrupt customs officers who were involved in the scam; and subsequently, on reporting the wrongdoers, he received a transfer order;

The order was rescinded after the Customs Officers' Union intervened and fought his case.

These charges are serious indeed. If he was penalised for whistleblowing on his own officers, then that is something that needs looking into by the highest of authorities.

There are two issues of public concern – one is the murder itself and the second is the export of cars without paying the duties.

Since Shaharuddin was Number 3 in the hierarchy, his complaint must have gone to those above him. What action did they take against the errant officers who aided and abetted in this unjustifiable exercise of depriving the government of the revenue?

Was Shaharuddin's reporting that led to the seizure of the cars on the mainland? If so, who were the perpetrators of this fraud? Were they brought to book and were those who bought these cars knowingly prosecuted for cheating on taxes?

Shaharuddin served the department for over 30 years where his work earned him the moniker "Mr Clean". His yeoman service and diligence to the country would go to waste if his killers and those associated with the smuggling of the cars get away or with a slap on their wrists.- R. Jom ramai2 kita pakat tamatkan karier politik Noh Omar pada PRU 14 ini...

Noh: Gagal PRU-14, titik penamat karier politik saya...

Saaid Ramdzan - Dasar pemimpin UMNO bercakap, kalau tak cakap besar, mesti cakap bohong!

Azhar Ameir - Noh Omar cuba nak bermain politik lagi. Sudahlah. Nak bersara cakap, kalau taknak pun cakap.Tak perlu bersandiwara.

Azman Hj Mohd Noor - PM -pengerusi Perhubungan Selangor pun kalut inikan pula Noh gedebeh...buang masa kau lah noh...nak berpolitik jangan tengok jawatan dan perbezaan politik...rayat semua patut dibela sama...utak udang biasanya bukan meletakkan ad din sebagai teras kepada percakapan dan pentadbiran...ikut perut bah...

Sipoot Comell - Selamat tinggal Noh...jaga Udang hang je la lagi baik...bersara awal sikit...confirm UMNO kalah lagi teruk PRU14 nanti...melainkan korg main tipu...hahaha

Noh Omar finished if Selangor BN 'fails in next GE'...
Selangor Umno liaison chief Noh Omar has admitted that his political career would be over if BN performs worse in Selangor come the next general election.

"I take this as a challenge that will determine my political future.

"If I fail by achieving worse results in the 14th general election, it will be the end point of my political career," he was quoted as saying by Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia.

The challenge, Noh said, was for Umno to tailor its strategy towards urban, semi-urban and rural voters.

Noh said among his moves to better Umno’s performance in Selangor are to strengthen the party's branches as well as to update its membership roll.

"We have to correct the perception that when people mention Umno, it is linked to corruption," he said.

In a separate report, the daily quoted Sabah Umno liaison deputy chief Salleh Said Keruak as saying that Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman (right) was still undecided about contesting for the Umno vice-presidency in the coming party polls.

"I would like to say that Musa... has not decided about the matter so the question of him contesting does not arise," he said.

Musa had been urged by fellow state Umno leaders against contesting in the party election as it may affect the incumbency of another Sabahan, Umno leader Shafie Apdal, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister.-malaysiakini

Black Mamba - Time for him to go. A weekend part time taxi driver and he dreams to lead Selangor. He is wasted garbage. That is a double jeopardy.

MockingYou - Hahahaha, apa susah Noh. Kan bela udang ngan bawak teksi boleh cari makan. Lagipun orang lain yang kerja mah, kalo takde local import je lah.

lawfool - UMNO equal to corruption ? Do you agree, Omar ? Have you ever asked yourself why Pakatan Selangor Govt can have RM2 billion surplus in 5 years governing ?

Heavywater. - Noh Omar, you are already 'finished' only you don't yet want to believe it. Denial, the curse of UMNO. What Pakatan has done to Selangor in 6 years was more than what UMNO could not do in 50 years. So, Dead Man Walking!

JomUbahUbah - We the people of Selangor will make very sure that corrupt UMNO and BN will never never rule again in Selangor.

lim chong leong - Who was in charge for Umno Selangor in ge13? Did BN or Umno do better or worse than ge12? Fact is Najib did worse in ge13 than Toyol did in ge12. How come no one ask him to step down? Don't talk about ge14 yet when the bones and leftovers of ge13 is still lying about and not cleared and thrown away.

Ketua Wira Perkasa Mahu Najib Letak Jawatan!! Sebab dia baru sedar Najib dah gadai segalanya..baca sini...
