Jika benar Perdana Menteri Najib Tun Razak bersikap mendahulukan rakyat, beliau hendaklah menyatakan sokongan kepada kebangkitan rakyat Mesir menuntut presiden mereka berundur, kata Naib Presiden PAS Datuk Mahfuz Omar.

"Jangan cakap sahaja mendahulukan kepentingan rakyat, tetapi bersikap buta dan pekak kepada aspirasi dan tuntutan rakyat seperti yang dicerminkan oleh rakyat Mesir yang bangkit beramai-ramai itu.

"Jangan hanya sedap pada slogan sahaja, sedangkan apa yang berlaku ialah rakyatlah yang terlebih dahulu menanggung kesusahan," katanya.

Mahfuz juga melihat apa yang berlaku di Mesir itu berpunca dari sikap Presiden Hosni Mubarak yang menjadi boneka Israel dan Yahudi Zionis.

"Sebab itulah kita bimbang negara ini juga akhirnya akan menjadi boneka dan porak peranda seperti Mesir dengan sikap kerajaan Najib yang begitu mesra Zionis termasuk melantik firma Zionis seperti Apco Worldwide untuk menjadi rakannya dalam melaksanakan pemerintahan negara ini.

"Itu belum lagi diambilkira hubungan dagang dengan Israel yang seolah-olah dirahsiakan sehinggalah perkara itu menjadi isu baru-baru ini," katanya.

TG.Nik Aziz - "Umno the one oppressing the Malays"...

Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat hit out at his political foe Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today and accused Umno of continually oppressing the Malays through undemocratic means. The PAS spiritual leader claimed that Umno’s governing methods were unIslamic, saying that the country’s largest party had never emphasised Islamic teachings, only secular nationalism.

“Initially, we see Tun Mahathir as a person who loves Malay unity. Does Tun Mahathir realise that Umno has been the one oppressing the Malays?” said Nik Aziz in a statement. The Kelantan mentri besar was responding to Dr Mahathir’s recent blog posting where the latter had accused Nik Aziz of “dividing” the Malays and Muslims in the country.

Dr Mahathir had described Nik Aziz’s brand of Islam as worse than that of Umno nationalists.

“I want to ask Tun Mahathir, what is the basis of Umno’s struggles? Has Umno in any way put Islam as the basis of its struggles ahead of national struggles? Practically can Umno even call themselves pious?” asked Nik Aziz.

The popular PAS leader listed down events which showed that Umno did not care about the rights of the Malays or even Islam, bringing up examples like the federal government’s now-aborted plans to award gambling licences, the government’s abolishment of the Jawi script in schools back in 1968 and also a reduction of national funds for Islamic schools during the Mahathir administration.

Nik Aziz also accused Umno of using undemocratic means to stay in power, claiming that Umno had “kidnapped” PAS assemblymen and MPs back in 1961 just to deny the Islamist party a win in Terengganu and Kelantan.

According to Nik Aziz, Umno had also ordered the mass killings of Malay followers of Ibrahim Libya in Memali.

“Till this day Umno continues its undemocratic practices. In Perak, they topple the government from behind. In Selangor, they appoint the state secretary without any prior discussion with the mentri besar. Strangely, it is this same ‘ketuanan Melayu’ party which had opposed an amendment to return the powers of the Selangor Sultan.

“In Kelantan, they (Umno) deny us oil royalty rights and instead set up a federal development department (JPP). This is not democracy, federalism and a far cry from being Islamic,” he said.

Yesterday, Dr Mahathir called Nik Aziz an opportunist who was willing to forsake his Islamic beliefs for political mileage.

“It is because of Malay nationalists our country is now governed by Malay-Muslim leaders. These leaders instil Islamic practices in the government administration and build mosques and banned the national lottery... how bad can these nationalists be?” said Dr Mahathir, who stayed in office for a record 22 years.

Comparatively, he said, Nik Aziz’s and PAS’s only contribution to the country was dividing the Malays into three splinter groups, with no hope for Malay unity. “This is Nik Aziz’s contribution... He ignored one of the most important Islamic concepts, that is brotherhood among Muslims,” added the former prime minister.

Seemingly unperturbed by Dr Mahathir’s scathing remarks, the PAS leader said in response that Dr Mahathir was suffering from the “Melayu mudah lupa” (Malays easily forget) syndrome.

“Tun Mahathir labels me and PAS as the reason for the division among the Malays. Perhaps it is me then who caused Umno to be banned in 1987 which lead to the formation of Semangat 46. Perhaps it is me who caused the deputy president of Umno to be sacked in 1999 and eventually formed PKR. “I am worried... Tun Mahathir has already contracted the ‘Melayu mudah lupa’ disease which he talked about some time back,” said Nik Aziz.

'My name is Anwar and I'm not a terrorist'....

Poking fun at the federal government latest claim against him - that he has 'terrorist' links - PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim quoted a line from the Bollywood blockbuster 'My Name is Khan'.

"My name is Anwar and I am not a terrorist," he said, mimicking the character played by Indian mega-star Shah Rukh Khan. The performance was received with roars of laughter from the thousand-strong PKR crowd attending the maiden run of the party leadership's road show in Petaling Jaya last night.

Anwar was responding to a statement by Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein that he will be probed for suspected links to a 'terrorist group' originating from Saudi Arabia. The minister had said last week: "I have asked the terrorist task force and I have asked the special branch, and they are linking up with Saudi (Arabia's) intelligence to find out to what extent Anwar is linked to this terrorist group.”

Hishammuddin was responding to a CNN report which had claimed to have had sight of documents purporting that a secret Saudi Arabian probe was launched after premier Najib Abdul Razak's complaint that personalities in the kingdom were funding Anwar. Hishammuddin admitted he had yet gone through the footage, but the CNN report also said the probe had not found any evidence of such links. The PKR leadership has rubbished the claim as being just another 'get Anwar witch hunt'.

Panadol and PD

Commenting on jibes by Najib that he(Anwar) would be "disrobed" and "struck down by fever" should they go mano-a-mano in a debate on the economy and Pakatan Rakyat's 100-day reform pledge, Anwar lobbed back barbs of his own. "I shall ask (wife and PKR president Dr) Wan Azizah (Wan Ismail) for a bottle of Panadol and I shall down them all to take care of the fever.

"Is Najib an expert at disrobing? This is an economic issue, it is not about personal issues. This is not a hotel room in PD," said Anwar as the crowd jeered at the premier.

He reiterated that he is willing to extend the debate to personal matters if that is what Najib wants. "We can debate the Orange Book and then we can also debate personal issues...We shall see who is struck down by fever and who is disrobed," he said.

These assaults on his character, said Anwar, are another of BN's desperate strategies to discourage him from continuing his struggle. "They can do their worst. What else can they do to me? They have imprisoned me, punched me, kicked me, stripped me naked and the last time they even measured... (my body parts, for the sodomy trial)."

However, he said he would not be as cruel as BN, should Pakatan come into power. "I will not imprison him (Najib). I shall send him as our ambassador to Mongolia instead," he quipped.

Despite the incessant attacks by BN, defections and internal strife, Anwar assured party members that PKR has emerged stronger, ready to face whatever that the ruling coalition throws at it. "We are now strong and we shall put our best machinery and leaders to serve," he said.Anwar also repeated warnings that all non-performers must buck up or face the axe. "You perform, you stay; you don't perform, you go," he said.

But he again accepted part of the blame - and apologised - for having chosen weak leaders who have since hopped out of the party.

Sebelum ketuk kepala TG.Nik Aziz dan Anwar mai kita sepak juboq Mahathir dulu.....

Dr Mahathir Mohamad berkata orang Melayu negara ini boleh disatukan jika dapat “ketuk kepala” Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat dan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim atas alasan masalah itu berpunca daripada kedua-dua pemimpin Pakatan Rakyat tersebut.

“Cara mudah, ketuk kepala Nik Aziz dan Anwar kerana penyakit itu semua datang daripada mereka,” kata beliau menjawab satu soalan bagaimana untuk menyatupadukan orang Melayu yang menurutnya sudah berpecah tiga.

Tumpang Sekole(TS) - Alahai macamlah semasa Mahathir berkuasa dulu orang Melayu tak pernah berpecah-belah? Perpecahan Melayu UMNO dengan Melayu PAS dah lama dah sebelum Che Det jadi PM lagi. Melayu UMNO berpecah kepada team A dan team B, ini angkara sapa? Bukankah Mahathir punya kerja?

Dalam kebanyakan ucapannya sejak Mac 2008, Dr Mahathir mendakwa orang Melayu sudah berpecah kepada tiga dan kuasa politik semakin mengecil dan tidak menolak kemungkinan akan menjadi macam orang Melayu Singapura. Beliau juga menyifatkan usaha menyatupadukan orang-orang Melayu itu menemui jalan buntu kerana tidak adanya keinginan daripada kedua-dua pemimpin berkenaan, Mursyidul Am PAS dan Ketua Umum Pakatan Rakyat untuk ke arah itu.

TS - Sejak bilakah Ketua Umum Pakatan Rakyat dijemput untuk berbincang pasal perpaduan Melayu? Orang Melayu bukan UMNO dah tahu cara permainan pemimpin2 UMNO ini, bila dalam keadaan terdesak mereka tadah tangan minta bersatu tapi bila dah bersatu, lain pula ceritanya. Kalau tidak tak kan PAS diterajang keluar BN dahulu. Kalau nak cakap fasal Melayu bersatu, UMNO sepatutnya ajak semua parti yang ada ahli2 orang Melayu bersatu bukan hanya jemput PAS saja!!

“Niat mereka hanya untuk mendapat tempat. Anwar dengan dasarnya untuk sampai ke Putrajaya dan Nik Aziz adalah seorang ‘opportunist’. Tidak ada niat mereka ini untuk berkhidmat untuk agama, bangsa dan negara, itu yang susah hendak berbaik dengan mereka,” katanya dipetik Bernama.

TS - Sapa yang tak ada cita2 nak berkuasa. UMNO sendiri juga 'opportunist' dalam menentukan cita2nya bagi mempertahankan Putrajaya dengan apa seakali pun. Tengok saja tindak tanduknya kini,UMNO guna semua jentera kerajaan yang ada termasuk SPR,mahkamah,media massa,polis dan kaki tangan kerajaan bagi memenuhi cita2 mereka.

Dr Mahathir berkata dalam keadaan kepercayaan kepada Umno juga goyah, orang Melayu kini diletakkan dalam keadaan serba-salah untuk memilih parti yang boleh dipercayai, justeru menyifatkan kaum Melayu kini dalam “Malay Dilemma 2”.

TS - Macam mana orang Melayu nak percaya kepada UMNO, kerana dalam UMNO sendiri menggalakkan amalan rasuah,salah guna kuasa dan fenomena Melayu menipu Melayu? Sepatutnya Mahathir nasihat UMNO supaya jangan jadi korup,bersikap sombong dan bongkak. Mahathir juga patut nasihat agar berhati-hati bila menggunakan agensi penasihat Yahudi-APCO dalam soal urusan tadbiran negara. Mahathir patut nasihat Najib tu berdebat dengan Anwar pasal ekonomi. Mahathir juga sepatut tanya Najib, siapa PM sebenarnya Najib atau Rosmah Mansor?

Beliau berkata demikian pada wacana “Kaum Melayu dan Masa Depan” anjuran Majlis Bekas Wakil Rakyat Malaysia (Mubarak) Wilayah Persekutuan di sini hari ini.

Hari ini masuk Putrajaya,esok harga minyak turun seluruh negara...

Anwar Ibrahim hari ini mengulangi janji bahawa minyak petroleum akan diturunkan hanya sehari selepas Pakatan Rakyat berjaya menawan Putrajaya pada pilihanraya umum akan datang.

Ketua Umum PKR itu berkata dalam ceramahnya di Gopeng semalam bahawa alasan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak yang mengatakan negara akan jatuh bankrap sekiranya membantu rakyat miskin dengan mengurangkan harga minyak dan barangan lain tidak berasas sama sekali.

Semalam kerajaan secara mengejut mengumumkan kenaikan petrol RON97 sebanyak RM0.10 sen menjadikan harganya RM2.50 sen. Ini merupakan kenaikkan kedua bahan api berkenaan bagi tahun ini. "Kalau Allah takdirkan kita menang, masuk Putrajaya, saya ulang, hari ini masuk Putrajaya esok harga minyak turun seluruh negara," tegas beliau diikuti sorakan gemuruh daripada hadirin.

Dalam ceramah umum yang dibanjiri dengan kira-kira dua ribu hadirin, beliau menjelaskan keuntungan yang diperoleh oleh dari jualan hasil petroleum sahaja mencecah RM70 ke RM80 bilion setahun dan ini dapat digunakan untuk mengurangkan harga minyak hanya sekiranya hasil ini diuruskan dengan bijak dan adil. Katanya, tidak logik sama sekali Najib membandingkan harga minyak di Malaysia dengan negara jiran seperti Singapura kerana Singapura bukanlah negara pengeluar minyak petroleum.

Anwar menjelaskan, inilah antara sebab beliau mengajak Perdana Menteri untuk berdebat berkenaan 'Buku Jingga' Reformasi 100 Hari PR yang dicemuh oleh Najib sebagai karut.

"Saya nak tanya, pasal apa harga minyak naik? kalau dia (Najib) kata Singapura, saya akan kata, banding Malaysia dengan semua negara-negara pengeluar minyak, mana-mana negara pengeluar minyak, Iran, Arab Saudi, Venezula, Qatar, Brunei, sebut mana ada satu negara pengeluar minyak, harga minyak mahal macam Malaysia, tak ada!" kata beliau lagi.

Beliau seterusnya berkata, kenaikan harga boleh dijustifikasikan sekiranya Malaysia bukannya pengeluar minyak.

"Kalau negara tak ada minyak, dan kata minyak naik tak ada apalah; (Menteri kata) Singapura pun naik, menteri bodoh cakap macam itu," kata beliau lagi.

Najib must get priorities right....

The frightening scenes of protest in Cairo with ordinary Egyptians taking a stand against the repressive regime of President Hosni Mubarak bring home the message that when the public is continually ignored, civil unrest triumphs. The grievances felt by the Egyptian peoples sent thousands of its citizens onto the streets demanding immediate reform.

Most however, are young, educated, well-articulated and middle-class, frustrated at the way their country is run. They see a land which has few opportunities to offer, and where only the elite enjoy power. Sounds familiar? I was describing Egypt but I could just as easily be describing Malaysia.

The Egyptians are fighting the government mainly for financial reasons. Its people face economic gloom, rising prices, rising unemployment, poor living conditions and the breakdown of law and order. There is genuine anger at political repression and the possible rigging of elections.In an effort to stop protests from being galvanised and driven by the young, via Internet and word of mouth, Mubarak stopped most forms of communication with the outside world. Eventually, Facebook, Twitter and the Internet were stopped from operating. Despite this, the crowds gathered in even bigger numbers and shook off their fear of the police. Instead of agreeing to the reforms, Mubarak sacked his entire cabinet. What the crowd wanted was for him to go.

This Egyptian uprising resembles that of the Iranian uprising in 1979, which sparked the revolution. At the time, the Shah of Iran was known to be corrupt, had lined his pockets, was ruthless against political opposition and was known to be a puppet of the west. When Iran fell, the young thought they could control their future but within months, the radical Muslims unleashed their forces and formed the Islamic Republic. Egypt is considered an ally of the United States. Recent reports have shown that the USA, although seen to be publicly backing Mubarak, has been secretly funding leading figures in the struggle for regime change, over the past few years.

Malaysians have legitimate concerns about the state of our nation. Mega projects are being proposed when there is no obvious funding for them. Corruption is rife but only the small cases are being solved. The forces of law and order have broken down - witness the death of A Kugan, Teoh Beng Hock and Aminulrasyid Amzah. Many villages are lacking in proper infrastructure and yet skyscrapers and palaces are being constructed.

The illicit outflows of funds totalling US$291 billion or RM881 billion during the period 2000 to 2009, which the Global Financial Integrity report revealed, does not merit any attention by our ministers. Allegations of rape and other crimes by the cabinet are shrugged off with denials. People who protest are picked up and detained without trial. Opposition politicians are harassed.

Before leaving for the United Arab Emirates, Prime minister Najib Abdul Razak tried to create a smokescreen when he ordered Home minister Hishammuddin Hussein to investigate Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim for terrorist links with the Muslim Brotherhood, as part of the attempt to discredit Anwar further. Najib conveniently ignored a CNN report which absolved Anwar and his Pakatan Rakyat party from having any terrorist links in the middle-east.

Najib also failed to inform the public, last August, it was he who had deceived the Saudi Arabia authorities into thinking that two of their royal princes were funding Anwar in the upcoming elections. When the Saudis completed their investigations, they cleared Anwar but uncovered something far more unsettling. Despite Anwar's name having been cleared, Najib wanted to create the impression that Anwar is linked to terrorism. This sort of news will alarm any non-Malays and liberal Muslims. For them, a Muslim-run state is one thing, but a fundamentalist Muslim state is another matter altogether.

'National security compromised'

Hishammuddiin said that the investigation into Anwar was because national security was compromised by the involvement of terrorist organisations. Strange that when Anwar first mentioned Najib's links with Apco, a company with strong Israeli links, especially as the Malaysian government has no diplomatic relations with Israel, no investigation was carried out by the Home Ministry.

Najib is desperate to make Anwar look terrible in the eyes of the public. Last year, Utusan accused Anwar of paying CNN to feature him in their show 'Connect the World', watched by hundreds of millions around the world. This charge was denied by the US news broadcaster. Nor did Najib mention that his wife Rosmah Mansor was alleged to have paid US$5 million, from the public purse, for her centrefold 'First Lady' glossy advert in the New York Times. It appears that in Malaysia, the opposition is continually undermined and democratic values and good governance take second place to party politics.

Earlier this month, we saw the swift conclusion of the Jasmine revolution in Tunisia which toppled President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali. The Tunisians may have cheered the removal of President Ben Ali but their invective was reserved for his wife, Leila, who was hated for her greed. Leila was given the soubriquet of "The Philippines' Imelda Marcos of the Arab world" because of her love of wealth and its trappings. She was also branded 'The Regent of Carthage' as she was seen as the power behind the throne.- Mariam Mokhtar

America didn't want democracy coming to the Arab world...

A lot of Americans can't even find their own country on a map. So I'm not surprised Fox News has no idea where Egypt is!!!

The lessons of Iraq,Tunisia and Egypt are that you don't install democracy anywhere; no, democracy must arise from the people themselves, you damage the processes of establishing popular will by seeking to impose such a system. The western democratic revolutions also arose from within.

The lesson of Tunisia and Egypt for American foreign policy is that the United States is the most conservative force in the world, in this region. It didn't see democracy coming because it didn't want to see it coming to the Arab world. But when democracy did come, the U.S. creditably reversed field in Tunisia, but has stuck by its dictator in Egypt.

Why? Because Egyptian stability preserves the Israeli status quo, in which Israel gets to imprison West Bank protesters without a peep from the U.S. government and gets to destroy civilians in Gaza again without a peep from the alleged change-agent in the White House.

The people of Egypt have risen against the long-time rule of President Hosni Mubarak, triggered by the toppling of the Tunisian dictator Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali by popular revolt. To date, more than 100 people have died and thousands injured and many arrested in the government's crackdown against the growing outpour against Mubarak's rule.The Egyptian people are sick of with Mubarak,one for being in power too long and second for suppressing democracy. Mubarak deserves to kick out of Egypt.....
