- selangorku

Azmin: Water agreement has lapsed, no extension...

The water agreement between the Selangor government and the federal government lapsed today and will not be extended, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali announced.

Talking to reporters at the Parliament lobby, Azmin said the federal government has "breached terms of the agreement", thus leaving the state with no choice.

"What choice do we have?" he asked.

The decision by Selangor will put a major dent in the federal government's ambitions to build the Langat 2 water treatment plant.

"When I came in September last year, I made it known that I wanted to honour the agreement, but they failed to honour it," Azmin said.

The master agreement for the water deal was signed in September last year, as Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's last act as the state menteri besar.

Under the terms, the federal government was given three months to fulfil the pre-conditions set in the agreement, but these were not met.

Putrajaya then sought two consecutive one-month extensions, with the latest expiring today.

But Selangor has chosen to not grant a third extension.

"I will see what new terms they have to discuss with the state," Azmin said when asked about the path forward.

Under the water agreement, Selangor will facilitate the construction of the Langat 2 project, provided the federal government helps the state complete the takeover of all water concessionaires in the state.

"The ball is in their court," Azmin said.

He would also discuss the Selangor public transportation plan with Works Minister Fadillah Yusof, he said, following the state's cancellation of the approval for the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex). - mk

MH370 – Setahun dan sehari kemudian...

Penamat.

Semuanya hanya tergantung.

Cerita menyayat hati mereka benar-benar membebankan.

Berapa lama lagikah mereka perlu menunggu jawapan?

- K Kabilan, the antdaily

Malaysian officials led Chinese families to a factory and told them it was the MAS HQ...

We are the families of MH370 passengers. We would like to thank all the media and everyone here for attending this media conference and showing your concerns over us. We need your help, in this extreme hard journey.

In the morning of February 12th 2015, a delegation of MH370 passengers’ families, afar from their own families and home country, made the first trip to Malaysia, to present a letter to Malaysia Airlines. However, with clear understanding that the Chinese families having no knowledge of local directions and no language skills, the Airlines officials led the delegation to a aviation mechanic factory and told them that was where the Malaysian Airlines headquarter is situated. At the same time, all the passports of delegates had been recorded due to the alleged ‘accommodation arrangements’.

After this, the delegation was asked to select three delegates who later were driven by a car provided by Malaysian Airlines to another destination to present the letter to the CEO of Malaysia Airlines, Mr. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.

Surprisingly, while the delegates requiring a signature and an official stamp of receiving the letter, Mr Yahya amended part of the words on the stamp deliberately and asked an unidentified person to sign on it; then he added the amended parts back and signed by himself after the strong objection addressed by the delegation. Shockingly, after translating the content of the stamp, it is found out that it was not the official stamp of Malaysia Airlines but a random school.

At the scene, Mr Yahya promised to be borne by the local accommodation costs of the delegation and the Minister of Transport, Mr Liow Tiong Lai, also promised in front of media that Malaysia Airlines would be responsible to cover all the local accommodation costs.

On the following day, February13th, with the correct address informed by journalists, the delegation had to travel to Malaysia Airlines to follow up the accommodation arrangements. Disappointingly, the delegation was completely ignored by Mr Yahya, and was left outdoor in front of Malaysia Airlines building to bear the humid air, the scotching weather, the harassment of mosquitoes, and the hunger and thirst.

On February 16th, Mr. Yahya sent a correspondence to the delegation via a doorman. Due to the unsatisfaction of the delegation, another letter from the delegation was sent to Malaysia Ministry of Transport on February 25th and consent was made between the two parties that a response would be expected within three day. The Ministry of Transport agreed and accepted the letter with an official stamp and a receiver’s signature provided (see the letter to the Ministry of Transport as attached).

At 10am in the morning of February 26th, the delegation arrived at Royal Malaysia Police to enquire about the related issues of MH370. A request was also made to get access to the video records regarding the boarding process of the flight. At 2pm, the highest ranked police officer met with the delegation in front of the Police Department and responded verbally, ‘1, Currently we cannot find the plane or any passengers on board. There is no further progress been made. 2, Families have to register and provide the police with details (including passport numbers, names, passenger’s names, relationships) via email ’. On 11:39am February 27th, all information required had been sent into the email address provided; unfortunately still no response so far.

At 9am March 2nd, when the delegation arrived the Ministry of Transport to require the response as promised, officials from the Ministry advised the delegation to wait as Mr Liow was having a meeting upstairs. At 4pm, the delegation was asked to keep waiting. Some of elderly delegates passed out due to the long wait. At this time, though one of the rooms was opened for the delegation to rest, the strong smell of methanol made it impossible to stay in. The delegation only received the promised correspondence at 9pm and was sent back to contact with Malaysia Airlines again.

On March 4th, the delegation brought the response letter from the Ministry of Transport to Malaysia Airlines and passed the letter via the doorman. The doorman accepted and signed for receiving the letter. At the same time, both sides agreed to have a meeting on March 6th at 10am. However, when the delegation arrived at the front gate of Malaysia Airlines we were confronted by fully armed police preventing us from getting any closer. The doorman claimed that Malaysia Airlines would not response to the letter from the Ministry of Transport, and would refuse to meet with the delegation.

On March 3rd, another two letters was presented to the Ministry of Transport, who confirmed a response within 3 days (March 5th). However, it was armed police force again, preventing the delegation from collecting the promised response.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Department of Civil Aviation was also on the alert to stop the delegation to lodge in letters.

Overall:

1.Malaysia Airlines is deceiving the families at every single aspect; fully armed police force is engaged to cope with the families.

2.Malaysia Ministry of Transport is irresponsible and avoiding facing the families; fully armed police force is also involved to cope with the families.

3.Malaysia Police deters the delegation from approaching Malaysia Civil Aviation Department.

4.Royal Malaysia Police has no response after received the delegation’s request.

This is what we have experienced in this journey of finding our loved ones in Malaysia. Our families have been announced death without any evidence.

We strongly refuse to accept this irresponsible announcement.

Malaysia Airlines, you are hurting the whole world; Malaysia, you are the sinner of the whole world! - Family Members of the Passengers on Flight MH370‍,Malaysia-Chronicle

cheers.
