Ketika rakyat biasa diberikan alasan tiada tanah ketika memohonnya, empat pemimpin Umno Besut didakwa masing-masing memiliki satu hektar tanah di Kuala Besut.
"Inilah dia, tradisi mendahulukan penguasa politik.

Four BN leaders given beachside lands...
PAS central committee member Dzulkefly Ahmad is claiming that four current and former BN elected representatives each had a one-hectare plot of beachside land in Besut, including BN Kuala Besut by-election deputy director Idris Jusoh.
He said this contrasts with the difficulty that locals face in applying for land.
“This is what we mean by tradition of putting... whom first? Those in power, not the people.
“We urge that they explain this and whether it is only during election campaigns when they come with goats, cows and development projects for Kuala Besut, which as I have said before, is very neglected,” Dzulkefly (right) said during a press conference today.
When asked for the date when the lands were obtained and documents to back his claim, Dzulkefly said he could not remember the exact date, but claimed Idris was the Jertih assemblyperson at the time.
This would place the date sometime between the 2004 general election and the 2013 general election.
As for the supporting documentation, Dzulkefly declined to disclose it for the time being.
“That will come, don’t worry. We want them to challenge us (back),” he said.
The four adjacent plots of residential land PT6964, PT6904, PT6903 and PT6902 are supposedly located in Tembila, facing the South China Sea.
It lies about eight kilometres southeast of Kuala Besut and is outside of the state constituency.
The four allegedly are former Besut MP Abdullah Md Zin, Hulu Besut assemblyperson Nawi Mohamad, former Kota Putera assemblyperson Muhammad Pehimi Yusof, and the incumbent Besut MP Idris.
When contacted, Nawi admitted to receiving the one-hectare residential land from the state government.
“(I) was given, but even common people are also awarded land by the Terengganu government,” he said in a text message to Malaysiakini.
Malaysiakini is also contacting the remaining three BN leaders for their response to Dzulkefly’s allegations.-malaysiakini
