DBKL keluar notis kosongkan Padang Merbok...

Campers given 2 hours to vacate Padang Merbok...
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) this morning issued a two-hour notice to a group that had camped at Padang Merbok overnight to vacate the site.
DBKL enforcement officers, met by reporters at the site, said the notice was issued at 10.15am ordering them to remove the tents they had erected there as they did not have the permission of the mayor to do so.

"We are giving them until 12.15pm and if they fail to do so, action will be taken," he said.
Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) chairman Badrul Hisham Shahrin better known as Cikgu Bard said about 100 tents were erected at Padang Merbok after the Black 505 gathering there yesterday.
"Yesterday, 246 people camped here and we will act according to the situation depending on instructions from DBKL," he said.-malaysiakini

It’s not a Pakatan thing for some Padang Merbok campers...
From
appearances, these were young but hardy believers in Pakatan Rakyat
making a stand long after the Black 505 rally leaders and thousands of
supporters had gone home. Not quite.
Political loyalties were not what
had driven some 200 students and youths to set up camp at Padang Merbok
in Kuala Lumpur today with the attention of staying put until Monday.
Change is what they are after, even if there was risk in pitching tents at the site, an action unlikely to go down well with City Hall. "We have been ignored for far too long," was a common refrain among them.
The Malaysian Insider spoke to a few of them who said they are fed-up with the government paying them lip service.

International Islamic University law student Mohd Kamil Abdul Munim, 23, insisted they were not breaking any laws.
"Erecting a tent is not an offence. It is not a permanent structure," he said. "We are here for a reason. We are unhappy with the election results."
He wants the world to know what is happening in Malaysia. He also wants to put pressure on the government to make the changes the students are seeking.
Mohd Kamil said the youth today are not like before. "We are more knowledgeable. We cannot be fooled any longer," he said.

He was there with three other friends, undergraduates Nurainie Haziqah, 23, Arif Imran, 23, and Hamdi Fahmi, 22.
"Our parents are aware that we are here," said Nurainie, a final year law student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
"My mother was worried but my dad gave me the freedom to choose my own path. He only told me to be careful.
"We don't expect to see changes in the next two days but we hope it will open the eyes of the government."
Nurainie stressed that they were not there to help Pakatan Rakyat take over Putrajaya.
"What we want are reforms and it must start with the government admitting there was election fraud," she said, adding that only then can the country move forward.
Nurainie added that the government knows the people are unhappy but it is choosing to ignore the issues.
Her views were shared by Arif and Hamdi who said that their stand had nothing to do with Pakatan Rakyat or Umno.
"It is the system. It was put in place to protect the ruling party and that has to change."

Padang Merbok is now tent city...
After
playing host to the Black 505 rally, Padang Merbok is now hosting about
40 camping tents erected by activist to protest against the Election
Commission (EC).
The move was initiated by Solidarity Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM), which aims to camp in the area until the EC's seven members step down.
Critics of the EC said that their alleged poor conduct of the 13th general election had made their tenure untennable.
Furthermore, critics also claim that the current crop of EC members had lost credibility and they should not be allowed to re-draw the electoral boundaries, which must be done this year according to the Federal Constitutional.
On Monday, the activists plan to hold a protest in front of Parliament House, located a stone's throw away from Padang Merbok, to state the same message.
Toilets locked
The move coincides with the first session of the 13th Parliament.
However, they are concerned about whether the authorities and their opponents will allow them camp out that long.
"If we can stay here until tomorrow without interference, it would be a big achievement," said SAMM propaganda director Edy Nor Redzuan.
For now, they activists have some logistical problems at hand as the landowner, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), had locked up the toilet on the field.
"We'll have to figure something out," said Edy.
But for now, food is not a problem for the activists as many food stall operators who set up shop for the Black 505 rally have decided to stay put.
Among other, Batu MP Tian Chua will be staying the night as well.-malaysiakini
