Setiausaha Agung DAP, Lim Guan Eng menyifatkan Abdul Gani pilih kasih

What about Ibrahim Ali, Guan Eng asks Gani Patail...
Attorney-general
(AG) Abdul Gani Patail's promise that the government will act on any
report by the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in
Sabah is meaningless, since Gani has not acted on Perkasa chief Ibrahim
Ali's call to burn the Malay-language Bible, says the DAP.
Not only that, Gani has also failed to respond to the recommendation by a previous RCI to establish an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC), DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said in a statement today.
"Gani has shown a troubling propensity of cowardly inaction on cases that involve BN leaders, their cronies or closet supporters.
"Nothing exemplifies such prosecutorial cowardice and double-standards as his refusal to act against Perkasa for calling the Bible to be burnt, using the ridiculous excuse that the Bible has not been burnt and he will only act when the Bible is actually burnt!
"However at the same time, he showed extreme prejudice and bravery when taking action against Pakatan Rakyat leaders, such as DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh for sedition," Lim said.
Yesterday, Gani pledged that the government would act on any report or resolution by the RCI on illegal immigrants in Sabah, and action would be taken if criminal elements were involved.
Lim, who is also the Penang chief minister, said it was now time to remove Gani, for he served no function except to serve his political masters.
"Malaysians deserve a legal attorney-general who fulfills his or her statutory obligation to uphold the law, without fear or favour in a professional and impartial manner.
"There can be no justice for all when cronies and supporters of BN leaders enjoy legal immunity for breaking the law, while law-abiding citizens are punished by the AG merely because they dare to dissent and oppose BN," Lim added.-malaysiakini

'This is the government's promise'
"Yes, if there are criminal offences, we will act. This is the
government's promise. That is why the RCI was set up," Gani is quoted as
saying.
However, Lim argued that Gani's promises to act if
there were criminal offences sounded even more empty as the BN
government has been in denial over the recent horrific death of security
guard C Sugumaran(right) and other custodial death victims such as Chang Ching Te, A Kugan as well as 16-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah.Lim, who is also the Penang chief minister, said it was now time to remove Gani, for he served no function except to serve his political masters.
